An Action-Packed Week Kicking off a Reset Starting with a New Moon in Taurus, Mercury, Mars, Venus and the Sun Changing Signs

 

The pace is really picking up this week.  We have a Super New Moon in 25 degrees of Taurus on May 16 that will serve as a perfect time to set intentions pertaining to financial stability and security.  Indulging in sensual pleasures is also a theme with this Taurus Moon that is ruled by Venus.  The Moon and the Sun are also conjunct Mercury in Taurus, which lends more groundedness to our thinking.  Another perk is that the Moon in Taurus is forming a supportive sextile to Jupiter in 21 degrees of Cancer, which can create opportunities for financial growth. Mars and Chiron are also conjunct in 28 degrees of Aries on the New Moon indicating that is okay to feel vulnerable and ask for help.  I am sure many of us have felt that we needed to be strong and self-sufficient but this is a time to acknowledge that we can't do everything alone.  Any way you slice it, this New Moon in Taurus is akin to hitting the reset button in our lives.

On May 17, Mercury enters Gemini until June 1.  Mercury rules both Gemini and Virgo, so it is definitely a happy camper here.  This will be a high-octane period for communication, learning and mental agility.  We are more witty, inclined to make decisions rapidly and might be taking more short trips.  Mercury will also be conjunct Uranus in Gemini on that day, which can bring some real mental breakthroughs.  

Mars moves into Taurus on May 18, which is a huge shift from the impulsive action of Mars in Aries.  We are motivated to be more practical, stable and grounded.  Financial planning could take center stage in our lives.  The shadow side of Mars in Taurus is tendency towards stubbornness, as Taurus is fixed earth.  The fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio will feel this most acutely.

Venus is changing signs too on May 18.  It enters Cancer on that day until June 13.  Love becomes softer, more nurturing and healing. We crave deeper connections and might be prone to spending money on home improvements.  A desire for safety and security in relationships prevails now.  We can also find ourselves being more sentimental and nostalgic.

The Sun moves into Gemini on May 20 as our focus shifts to diversity, socializing, learning and curiosity.  Gathering information is important for us now and we are likely to have a finger in every pot so to speak.  We also might be a little fickle with the Sun in Gemini trying to sample as much variety as possible.  The Sun is moving toward its own conjunction with Uranus in Gemini, which will be exact on May 22.  But the theme of fresh starts and new chapters ring true with Mercury and then the Sun conjunct Uranus in Gemini.  The upsets of Uranus in Taurus over the last seven years are literally in our rear-view mirror now.

Uranus in Gemini will be trining Pluto in Aquarius from July 2026 through May 2028, which will be a welcome change from the turbulence we encountered with the Uranus in Aries squares to Pluto in Capricorn from 2012 through 2015. Trine are harmonious energy which facilitate implementing deep structural change. It won't be as chaotic as the squares and technology could be instrumental in delivering those changes.  Innovative thinking is also emphasized.  Bring it on, I say!  The days of feeling stuck are starting to fade as we create a new reality.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Saturn in Pisces Gets Squared by the Sun, Mercury and Venus While Mars Enters Taurus and Squares Pluto in Aquarius

 

We have a lot of Gemini energy these days: on June 6, we had a New Moon in 16 degrees of Gemini that was conjunct Venus in Gemini, conjuncted Mercury and Jupiter in Gemini on June 5 and also squared Saturn in 19 degrees of Pisces. The square to Saturn could have resulted in enormous amounts of frustrations and delays. This is a great deal of nervous and scattered energy.

The squares to Saturn are not done by a long shot. On June 7, Venus in Gemini will be squaring Saturn in Pisces.  This one is bound to cause stress in relationships, delays, feelings of loneliness and depression.  It can make us feel like we have to work really hard on relationships.  Venus squaring Saturn can also manifest as money problems.

The Sun in Gemini is squaring Saturn in Pisces on June 8.  This aspect is associated with tests and challenges while contributing heavily to pessimism and depression. It is truly a test of character and can entail a multitude of responsibilities cropping up.  The Sun represents our life force and ego, so don't be surprised if you experience difficulty or frustration in getting your way or reaching your goals.  It can definitely be an ego-bruising day.

Mercury in Gemini has its own square to Saturn in Pisces on June 12.  Mercury squaring Saturn brings a time of buckling down and doing some hard mental work.  Negative thinking and misunderstandings are likely.  And don't rule out the potential for distance in close relationships.

Mars is on the move too.  On June 9 it moves into the fixed earth sign of Taurus after spending time in the cardinal fire sign of Aries since April 29.  This is a big shift in energy.  Determination and tenacity will be our greatest strength and motivators.  It is a major change from the impatience and impulsiveness that embodies Mars in Aries.  We should be acting more grounded, practically and sensibly.  But we need to be mindful of the shadow side of Mars in Taurus: it can be stubborn, like its symbol, the Bull and can also be quite defensive. When Mars is in Taurus, there can be a tendency to avoid confrontations.  However, it is superb energy for careful planning and step-by-step action.  Mars in Taurus values financial security and we are keen on pursuing our monetary goals.  And Mars in Taurus can also motivate us to enjoy earthly pleasures, so be sure to enjoy life too...

Mars in Taurus is put to the test so to speak on June 11 when it squares Pluto in 1 degree of Aquarius.  This aspect is frequently associated with power struggles and confrontations.  Just be mindful of the desire to gain control of others, as there can be issues with authority figures.  Trust your instincts on this day and try to use it as an opportunity to transform situations.  We are exploring our power access by accessing our inner power and navigating our feelings, drive and motivation.  It can be an intense day, but we can come out on the other side of it in a better place if we use this energy constructively.

The Summer Heats Up with Mars in Aries Squaring Pluto in Capricorn, Mars Enters Taurus and Mercury Enters Cancer

 

The heat is on for this summer and the month of July commences with a real firecracker aspect on July 1 when Mars in Aries forms an exact square to Pluto in 27 degrees of Capricorn. These are two heavy weight planets indicating that power struggles, anger and instinctual fights are likely to emerge. Both Mars and Pluto are considered to rule the sign of Scorpio, so it could get nasty with revenge being a motivating factor.  I wouldn't be surprised if more violence erupts as well.  The United States is still undergoing its Pluto Return and the transformation it brings will come through facing ordeals.  The ordeals are not over, by a long shot.  If anyone has planets between 25-29 degrees in the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn, be on alert for disruptions and some kind of turmoil in your life.  My Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer and Neptune in Libra are in this mix, so I know that I will be facing some kind of conflict and am trying to prepare myself for it.

Neptune stationed retrograde in 25 degrees of Pisces on June 28, the day of the New Moon in Cancer.  It featured a big reveal from Cassidy Hutchinson in the January 6 hearing.  Prior to her testimony and with absolutely no idea this was coming, I had tweeted earlier on that day:

Mars will leave the cardinal fire sign of Aries on July 5 for the fixed earth sign of Taurus where it remains until August 20.  Mars in Taurus is less reckless and impatient; it is motivated by practicality and tends to act in a more grounded way.  It has a slower and more measured pace, which we can probably use after the recent Mars in Aries transit.  When Mars is in Taurus, we are more determined to achieve our goals and have the tenacity to go for it.  But the shadow side of Mars in Taurus is that we can be extremely stubborn and defensive.

Mercury is changing signs on July 5 as well.  It departs the mutable air sign of Gemini for the cardinal water sign of Cancer and stays in Cancer until July 19.  When Mercury is in Cancer, the mind and heart are growing closer.  We tend to communicate in a softer manner as we convey our feelings in a more personal and nurturing manner.  Our intuition is much stronger with Mercury in Cancer, so trust your gut feelings.  We are also inclined to listen to others more when Mercury is in the sensitive water sign of Cancer, which can definitely be helpful.  Just be mindful of the fact that it might not be as easy to be objective in our communication and we should be fine with Mercury in Cancer.

Happy New Year 2021 as Mercury in Capricorn Flexes its Muscle and Mars Moves into Taurus

 

I am sure that I am not alone when I say that I am glad to bid 2020 adieu. The year 2020 was one tough year and it ended on an extremely emotional note with a Full Moon in Cancer on December 29, 2020.  On that day I tweeted:

I don’t know about you, but I found this Full Moon to be extremely challenging and exhausting.  I heard from people that I hadn’t been in touch with for a while and I certainly had some emotional buttons pushed.  But on some level I realize that all of this was necessary for our growth.

How is 2021 beginning? For starters, the Moon is in party-loving Leo squaring off with Uranus in Taurus, which could lead to some major overindulgences and accidents as people are inclined to cut loose.  We have spent the better part (over nine months to be exact) dealing with the frustrations and limitations of the pandemic.  This could also lead to another surge of the Coronavirus, so please try to be careful however you celebrate and don’t engage in large gatherings.

But the New Year does start off on a somewhat hopeful note with Mercury in Capricorn forming a supportive sextile to Neptune in Pisces.  This aspect is exact in 18 degrees, so if you have any planets near 18 degrees of Scorpio, Cancer, Capricorn, Pisces, Taurus and Virgo, you will reap the benefits. Mercury and Neptune connecting on this level brings very positive mental energy with constructive plans for the future. It’s also very creative and spiritual to boot, which is a delightful way to start the New Year. Hello, New Year’s resolutions!

Mercury is moving into Aquarius on January 8, but it also makes one last major aspect on the 4^th when it conjuncts Pluto in 24 degrees of Capricorn.  This aspect has a theme of making us more serious about transforming our lives with its depth and intensity and its capacity for psychological analysis.  It is exactly conjunct my natal Chiron in Capricorn in my 4^th house and I have received more requests for distance Reiki treatments this week which I hope continues.

The major event this coming week is the ingress of Mars into Taurus.  Due to a Mars retrograde in 2020, Mars has been in Aries since June 27, 2020. It was retrograde from September 9^th through November 13^th. If you were feeling stuck and unable to move forward to pursue your desires this fall, this is yet another reason in addition to the pandemic.

I know that Mars rules Aries and is very comfortable there, but it can be impulsive, impatient and lack the ability to see things through.  Mars moves into Taurus on January 6^th and is there until March 3, 2021. You will definitely notice a difference in the energy.  We will have a more determined focus as we are more resolute and patient.  Slow and steady will be our new mantra.  Our goal will shift to longevity and long-term satisfaction as we shift our priorities to finances, security and enjoying earthly pleasures. We are more able to see the big picture when Mars is in Taurus and we are able to stick to what needs to be done because Taurus is a fixed sign.  Spoiler alert, folks, fixed signs are feeling more pressure to perform this year now that Jupiter and Saturn are in Aquarius, joining Uranus and Mars in Taurus.  This includes Scorpio and Leo too. Material comfort will become more important to us because Taurus is ruled by pleasure-loving Venus.  So a little shopping for treats might be in store for us during this transit.

The coronavirus outbreak is causing me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people are concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I recently learned that I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. When it becomes clearer that the virus no longer poses a threat, I will find a new space to practice. In the meantime, a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Mercury Enters Pisces and Mars Moves into Venus Ruled Taurus for Valentine's Day

Well, we are coming off the high of a very energizing new moon that occurred on February 4, 2019, inspiring me to tweet:

But there are more changes coming this week when both Mercury and Mars change signs.  Mercury enters the sign of Pisces on February 10, 2019 and it will spend quite a while there because Mercury will be in its first retrograde period of 2019 starting on March 5^, 2019 when it stations retrograde in 29 degrees of Pisces.  It stations direct on March 28, 2019 in 16 degrees of Pisces and doesn’t leave the sign of Pisces until April 17, 2019.

Mercury in Pisces for an extended stay will have a tendency to soften communications, increase our sense of compassion and heighten our creativity.  Our dreams could be especially vivid during this transit as well because our intuitive powers will be stronger.  It favors deep meditations, especially during the retrograde phase.  But we will need to be mindful of the tendency to crave escapism.  Too much partying can be counterproductive but we may need to indulge in a little escapist entertainment.  And those of us who are empaths may find ourselves feeling overwhelmed and in need of a little grounding with our meditations.

Mars has been in the sign of Aries since December 31, 2018 but it is getting ready to leave its ruling sign on February 14, 2019.  But it will go out with the proverbial bang on February 13, 2019 when it conjuncts Uranus in 29 degrees of Aries.  And let’s not forget that Uranus is preparing to leave Aries as well to re-enter Taurus on March 6, 2019 for seven years.  Ironically, that day is also a new moon in Pisces.

How will a Mars Uranus conjunction in Aries play out?  This is very erratic cardinal energy that will manifest as a strong urge to break free of whatever limitations we are facing in our lives. We will literally be coming to terms with some part of our identity that needs to change.  Patience will be in short supply and there will be a tendency to act impulsively.  Acting out is a given with these two powerhouse planets in the cardinal sign of Aries.  And the fact that this conjunction occurs in 29 degrees indicates some sense of closure but it won’t happen quietly in the sign of Aries, which is renowned for its aggressive nature.

But on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2019, Mars will enter the Venus ruled sign of Taurus and it will stay there until March 31, 2019.  Mars is not especially strong in Taurus, but it will bring a romantic tone to Valentine’s Day.  Mars in Taurus is fixed earth, which means that love and finances will take on a more committed, slow moving approach. Mars in Taurus has infinitely much more patience than Mars in Aries and is marked by its ability to have the staying power, determination and tenacity to work slowly to achieve long-lasting results. Okay, it will be stubborn, but it won’t be flighty or fly off the handle.  When Mars is transiting Taurus, we will be able to act in a more measured fashion and feel as though we are in it for the long haul.  Mars in Taurus may actually help ground us during the extended transit of Mercury in Pisces, which is mutable water.  And that may be a very good thing for those of us who are empaths.
