Saturn Enters Aries, the Sun Squares Uranus, a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius and the Sun Moves into Pisces

 

We are headed into one of the most momentous weeks astrologically of the year and the pressure is building.  The first eclipse of 2026 happens on February 17 in the form of a Solar Eclipse in 28 degrees of Aquarius.  Many of us are already feeling its effects in terms of the tension, chaos and restlessness.  But we have more going on before that eclipse.

On February 13, Saturn enters Aries until April 12, 2028.  Saturn was in Aries briefly in 2025 from May 24 through September 1.  Saturn's last transit in Aries occurred from April 7,

1996 through June 9, 1998.  Saturn is somewhat uncomfortable in Aries since the planet is exalted in Libra.  Saturn represents discipline and structure while Aries is associated with rash impulsiveness.  Frankly, I have been alive long enough to survive two transits of Saturn in Libra and I can honestly say that neither time was exactly easy for me.  I do have fond memories of that last transit of Saturn in Aries from 1996 through 1998, however.  Saturn in Aries can be a refreshing change from Saturn in Pisces that had a tendency to disintegrate boundaries and leave us feeling disillusioned.

Saturn in Aries will force us to learn to act with patience.  That is our biggest challenge.  A major theme of this transit is combining the heat of our passions with creating something that lasts.  It will be easier now to initiate although we will undoubtedly be faced with some delays and challenges before we achieve any progress.  That is just the way Saturn rolls. 

On February 20, Saturn and Neptune will be conjunct in 0 degrees of Aries.  This is a historic event because Saturn and Neptune are only conjunct every 36 years and I will cover this more in next week's post.  But it always indicates major cultural and political changes.

On February 16, the Sun in Aquarius will be squaring Uranus in 27 degrees of Taurus.  Here we go again with the Aquarius squares to Uranus: we had Mercury squaring Uranus on February 5 and Venus squaring Uranus on February 8.  Watch out for tension, unease about the uncertainty that is swirling around us, and unpredictable behavior.  Major changes and outbursts from others are likely.  Computer and electronic malfunctions are possible too.  There is an increased likelihood of accidents, road rage, angry outbursts and ego conflicts.  Try to remain as flexible as possible, which can be easier said than done because we are dealing with a lot of fixed energy.

The Solar Eclipse in 28 degrees of Aquarius occurs on February 17.  It is a North Node of the Moon eclipse, which is very future oriented.  The last time we had a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius was on February 15, 2018 and it was a South Node eclipse in 27 degrees.  South Node eclipses have a theme of releasing, so you might want to think back what was happening for you back then.  It was not an easy time for me. That eclipse opposed my natal Pluto in Leo in my 11th house and this one will too.

The Solar Eclipse in 28 degrees of Aquarius is squaring Uranus in 27 degrees of Taurus.  This square aspect will leave us feeling torn between traditions and defying conventions.  The sign Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, so it really ups the wild card theme.  We will probably be feeling like we are bursting at the seams to break free of old patterns, bad habits and experience a desire to start fresh.  Difficult emotions will surface and we will need to acknowledge that loss is necessary in order to move on to a better future.

Restlessness will be a big part of this eclipse.  This eclipse is also a precursor to the Nodes of the Moon moving into Aquarius and Leo on July 26, 2026.  The Solar Eclipse in Aquarius will tend to accelerate events.  It is a very speedy vibe, especially with its square to Uranus.  The news will probably deliver shocking stories and shaky foundations can collapse.  It is always hard to predict what eclipses will deliver, but with Uranus in the mix, it makes it even more volatile. Hang in there because there is no doubt that big changes are coming down the pike and resistance is futile...

The Chinese New Year also begins on February 17.  It will be the year of the Fire Horse, which is quite appropriate given that Saturn and Neptune will be in Aries and Jupiter will be moving into Leo on June 30.  I don't know that much about Chinese astrology but I am looking forward to it because I was born in a Horse Year, although I am a Wood Horse.  The last time we had a Horse Year was 2014, so you might want to think back to what was going on for you back then.

On February 18, the Sun sails into the mutable water sign of Pisces.  This will be a time of heightened emotions, empathy, creativity and spirituality.  We will also find it easier to express our vulnerability.  The shadow side of the Sun in Pisces is a tendency towards confusion, escapism, victimization and playing the martyr. Just be mindful of that shadow side and it should be a calmer, more enjoyable time.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Mercury and Venus Enter Pisces While Mars and Jupiter Clash

 

How is everyone surviving the month of February so far?  It kicked off with a roaring Full Moon in Leo on February 1. And two days later we had Uranus station direct in Taurus for its final run in Taurus before it enters Gemini on April 25 for the next seven years.  As I have mentioned previously February, although a short month, will pack quite the punch with Saturn moving into Aries, a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius, the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries and Mercury retrograde.  The upcoming week will probably be the least astrologically active.

On February 6, Mercury enters Pisces for an extended stay until April 14 due to the upcoming Mercury retrograde on February 26.  When Mercury is in Pisces, communication tends to be more dreamy, intuitive and creative but we can be prone to escapist fantasies.  This will be especially true when Mercury is retrograde, which is happening from February 26 through March 20.  Mercury rules Virgo and Gemini, so it is not as focused in the mutable water sign of Pisces. And if you have any personal planets in the mutable signs of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius, you will experience heightened sensitivity to your environment and more vivid dreams. When I say personal planets, I mean the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars and Venus because our identity, emotions, communication, values (including what and whom we love) and action are affected. Our mental processes will be more fluid. Mercury will be conjunct the North Node in 9 degrees of Pisces on February 12, so watch for fated conversations as new information can be revealed that impacts our future.  The North Node represents our soul's destination.

Venus will move into Pisces on February 10 until March 6.  Venus is exalted in Pisces, so it is a very happy camper here.  Unconditional love and soul-centered connections are associated with Venus in Pisces.  Creativity soars and we can feel higher levels of compassion.  Our defenses are dissolved when Venus is in Pisces as our armor comes down. We find it easier to get in touch with our vulnerability, but boundaries can get blurred, so be mindful not to lose yourself.  Don't forget that the shadow side of Pisces can involve being a victim or martyr. We don't want to fall into that trap.

Mars in Aquarius will be forming an irritating inconjunct with Jupiter in 16 degrees of Cancer on February 12.  Inconjuncts always require some kind of adjustment because the two planets are in signs that are definitely not on the same page.  Assertiveness and over-extension are the major themes with these two planets inconjunct. Try to be patient and reflect, even though it will be challenging to do so.  Don't rush into big decisions, take risks or start arguments.  And be mindful not to make promises that you can't keep.  I know that I will be feeling this aspect because my Mars is in 14 degrees of Aquarius and my Midheaven is in 19 degrees of Cancer.  So I will definitely have to practice what I am preaching...

A Full Moon in Leo and Uranus Goes Direct in Taurus

 

As we prepare to enter the month of February 2026 the fast pace continues.  On February 1 we have a Full Moon in 13 degrees of Leo.  This Full Moon is often referred to as the Snow Moon and many of us can certainly attest to the fact that there has been a great deal of snow during the past week.

The major themes of a Full Moon in Leo include living from the heart, romance, children, leadership and creativity.  Any Full Moon requires that we find a level of balance, and with a Full Moon in Leo opposing the Sun in Aquarius, this entails balancing the loud and proud qualities Leo embodies with the quiet and introspective side of Aquarius.  We are involved in a conflict between the me of Leo versus the we (the collective) of Aquarius. Leo can be an extremely generous sign, but its shadow side can involve self-centeredness and a sense of entitlement.  This Full Moon in Leo also opposes Mars, Mercury, Venus and Pluto in Aquarius.  This is definitely not going to be a quiet Full Moon.  Big truths are bound to be revealed and the emotional reactions will not be silenced.  This won't be a boring time, to say the least.  This Full Moon is also coming on the heels of the Mars-Pluto conjunction in 2 degrees of Aquarius that occurred on January 27.

I will be honest that as a Scorpio, I always find the Full Moon in Leo somewhat challenging.  This one is squaring my natal Saturn in Scorpio in my 1st house and opposing my natal Mars in Aquarius in my 4th house.  There is no doubt that it will set me off and I will have a big case of the feels.  It is fair to say that anyone with planets in the fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo or Scorpio will be significantly impacted by this Full Moon as the ego and the heart have a monumental standoff.

On February 3, Uranus stations direct in 27 degrees of Taurus.  Uranus began its retrograde in 1 degree of Gemini on September 5, 2025. Uranus is not terribly comfortable in the fixed earth sign of Taurus because it wants control and Uranus doesn't like control, it is all about freedom  and innovation.  We have until April 25 to get more grounded and practical before Uranus enters Gemini for the next seven years.  Uranus will be much more comfortable in Gemini, bringing change to communication, transportation, information and technology.  The only caveat about Uranus in Gemini is the fact that for the United States of America, every time Uranus has been in Gemini (every 84 years), this country has been involved in a war: the Revolutionary War, the Civil War and World War 2.  Will we escape a war during this next seven-year transit?

Mercury in Aquarius will be squaring Uranus in 27 degrees of Taurus on February 5. Our minds will be energized and there is a strong likelihood of surprising information surfacing. I have a natal Mercury-Uranus square, so I am quite familiar with this energy. I also have my progressed Sun in Aquarius, so I am definitely feeling this vibe. If you have any planets between 27-29 degrees of the fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo or Scorpio, be prepared to be craving more freedom.  I know, the fixed signs are really getting slammed these days.  We are in a transition period between the major outer planets of Saturn, Neptune and Uranus going from water and earth to fire and air signs, which is not exactly a smooth ride...

Mars Goes into Aquarius, The Sun and Mars Meet Up with Pluto in Aquarius and Neptune Enters Aries

 

The Aquarius energy is intensified this week as Mars joins the Sun, Venus, Mercury and Pluto  on January 23.  Mars is the planet that drives us and is the planet of action.  Mars will be in Aquarius until March 2, 2026.  Mars in Aquarius is very future-focused energy and is motivated towards humanitarian goals.  Technological advancements are also possible when Mars is in Aquarius.  Detachment and a desire for independence are also associated with Mars in Aquarius.  Aquarius is the fixed air sign, so it can be quite stubborn and determined.  There will be a strong drive to take action to benefit humanity when Mars is in Aquarius.  We will be stepping outside of our comfort zone, taking more risks and pursuing more unconventional paths.  That's my natal Mars and I will be experiencing my Mars Return in mid-February.  Mars has a two-year cycle and it is not retrograde this year, for which we can be very grateful.

The Sun and Pluto are conjunct in 3 degrees of Aquarius on January 23 as well.  Be prepared for a day of intensity and potential power struggles.  Feelings of paranoia could surface.  The  perk of this aspect is the ability to obtain insight into deeply destructive behaviors like obsessions and addictions.  It's a time to address relationship issues and make repairs, especially if there are plumbing problems.  Don't be afraid to reevaluate your life path.  This aspect packs quite a punch.

Save the date of January 26, 2026 because Neptune enters Aries until March 29, 2039.  We got a taste of Neptune in Aries from March 30, 2025 through October 22, 2025.  Neptune has a cycle of approximately 165 years and the last time Neptune transited the sign of Aries was from 1861 through 1875. The American Civil War was part of the last major Neptune in Aries transit.  Neptune had been in Pisces, the sign it rules, off and on, from April 2011.  The final months of Neptune in Pisces have been providing us with the opportunity to dissolve illusions and release any feelings of Pisces since late October 2025, and I know that many people, myself included, feel like we are drowning and stuck in a quagmire.  It is time for a change.  We want to take action and Neptune in Aries isn't all that particular about what that action entails.

I encourage all of you to think back to last year when Neptune was in Aries.  Did you you feel like you had more courage to pursue your dreams back then?  Neptune will be in the first sign of the zodiac, Aries, which is ruled by Mars.  This gives us spiritual courage to blend action with our dreams.  Yes, there will be heightened idealism and impulsiveness can accompany this transit.  We are entering a whole new world where we can take direct action to make our dreams a reality.  And on February 20, Saturn and Neptune will be conjunct in 0 degrees of Aries.  This is a really big deal.  Saturn and Neptune are only conjunct every 36 years and it always coincides with significant cultural, political and spiritual shifts by blending the structure of Saturn with Neptune's dissolution of ideals.  In 1989 with the conjunction in Capricorn, we had the fall of the Berlin Wall, in 1952-53, the conjunction in Libra signaled the Cold War and the death of Stalin and in 1917 the conjunction in Cancer featured the Russian Revolution.  I wouldn't be surprised if there was a major change in Russia's government during the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries.

On January 27, 2026, Mars and Pluto will be conjunct in 3 degrees of Aquarius. Mars, representing action and energy is meeting up with Pluto, synonymous with power and transformation.  Get ready to switch gears as determination is amplified in the fixed air sign of Aquarius.  There can also be some obsessive, controlling and ruthless tendencies on display.  Transformation can be a key theme of the day because Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio and before Pluto was discovered in 1930 Mars was considered to be the ruling planet of Scorpio.  Mark my words, this will not be a day for lightweights with these two heavy hitters hooking up.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. A Supercharged New Moon in Capricorn and Aquarius Season is Here

 

We have yet another action-packed week ahead of us.  I am beginning to wonder if there will be any other kind in 2026.  On January 17, Venus enters Aquarius until February 10.  Aquarius is the fixed air sign known for being emotionally detached because it seeks freedom and unconventional ways to express love.  It is quite literally a cool customer and people who have a natal Venus in Aquarius aren't always interested in forever after.  When Venus is in Aquarius, love for friends becomes very important to us.  Community and intellectual endeavors are also quite appealing.

Also on January 17, the Sun in Capricorn is trining Uranus in 27 degrees of Taurus.  This aspect makes us more open to change and making new friends.  Changes will flow more smoothly with a trine, so embrace the changes.

Mark your calendar for a busy day on January 18.  We have the first New Moon of 2026 in 28 degrees of Capricorn. There is an interesting pileup of planets in both signs of Capricorn and Aquarius.  The Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars are in Capricorn while Venus has just entered Aquarius and Pluto is also in Aquarius.  They are close enough to be conjunct, creating a stellium, with strong Capricorn themes of planning, the past and structures meeting up with the Aquarius planets that represent the future.  Of course it is always a good idea to set new intentions on a New Moon, but Capricorn is the sign that excels at planning for the future, so don't waste this opportunity.  This is really the best time to set those New Year's intentions because the stellium of planets in Capricorn and Aquarius signifies a bridge between the past and the future we wish to create.

The New Moon in 28 degrees of Capricorn is forming a delightful trine to Uranus in 27 degrees of Taurus, helping us to sow those seeds of change but it could also create some financial volatility.  The New Moon is also forming supportive sextiles to Saturn in 27 degrees of Pisces and Neptune in 29 degrees, which definitely facilitates us in helping us to make our dreams a reality and manifest in a structured way.  For me personally, the New Moon falls in my 4th house and opposes Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer in my 10th house while squaring my Neptune in Libra in my 1st house.  This will be a momentous New Moon for me with that lineup.

Mercury and Mars are conjunct in Capricorn on the New Moon, which might play out as more aggression and possible defensiveness.  Arguments are likely.  Try not to be too rude or abusive towards others with this energy.  I am just warning that there is a potential for hostility, irritation and anger with this aspect. Mercury in Capricorn is also forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in Pisces, which holds the promise of clear thinking, common sense, self-discipline and good judgment.

The Sun enters Aquarius on January 19 as the focus shifts to humanitarianism, social connection, groups, intellectualism and independence.  Innovation takes priority over convention, which marks a huge difference from the Sun in Capricorn.  Freedom is driving us now.  Venus and Pluto are also conjunct in Aquarius on that day too, which will supply us with more power to attract friends and lovers.  There could be some changes in money too.

On January 20, Mars in Capricorn will be trining Uranus in 27 degrees of Taurus.  We will feel the urge to break free of restrictions and take risks.  Feel free to start new projects.  Mars in Capricorn is also forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in 27 degrees of Taurus on that day, which is a boon for making progress on a long-term project. 

Mercury moves into Aquarius on January 20 until February 6, 2026.  Our thinking and communication become more futuristic, innovative and humanitarian.  We are more inclined to embrace technology and engage with groups.  Mercury is also conjunct Pluto in Aquarius on January 22, which adds more depth and intensity to our thinking and communication.  We find it easier to get to the bottom of things. Secrets could be revealed as hard truths could come to light. There is also a risk of coming on too forceful, so be mindful that this is yet another powerhouse day.
