A Strong Theme of Relationships Prevails with a Solar Eclipse in Libra

We are edging into the last eclipse of this season and I know that many of you are feeling it already.  We already had the Lunar Eclipse in 25 degrees of Virgo on September 17 and we are facing a Solar Eclipse in 10 degrees of Libra on October 2.

Before we experience the Solar Eclipse, we actually have a couple of delightful aspects coming our way.  On September 30, Mars in Cancer is trining Saturn in 14 degrees of Pisces.  It is such a relief to see these two planets getting along. I have a natal Mars-Saturn square, and I know firsthand how contentious and frustrating it can be.  It can feel like you just can't make any progress when Mars and Saturn are in challenging aspects, like a square, opposition or inconjunct. This aspect will give us strength, ambition and perseverance to tackle those difficult tasks we are facing and succeed. This is truly a day when patience and self-discipline will pay off.  

The Sun and Mercury are conjunct in 7 degrees of Libra on September 30 too.  This aspect blesses us with mental alertness, quick thinking and adaptability.  We are in the mood to share ideas, meet new people and schedule appointments.  It's definitely a good idea to put your thinking cap on and expect positive results.

The Sun and Moon are conjunct in 10 degrees of Libra at 2:49 p.m. on October 2 for the Solar Eclipse.  It is a South Node eclipse, which means that we are moving away from the past.  For some people, relationships could be ending or we could find ourselves needing to release a situation so that we can enter a new phase in our lives.  This Solar Eclipse in Libra will focus on big changes in relationships and developing more of a sense of balance in existing relationships.  The sign of Libra is also associated with the law (the scales of balance), so it's possible that important legal cases could be in the news.  While we had a Solar Eclipse in Libra last year in 21 degrees on October 14, we actually had one in exactly 10 degrees of Libra on October 3, 2005.  I encourage anyone old enough to remember whatever issues you were facing back then and see if any of them come up again this time.

The planet Venus rules Libra and Venus in 11 degrees of Scorpio will be forming a grand water trine with Mars in 15 degrees of Cancer and Saturn in 14 degrees of Pisces.  This only reinforces the importance of relationships during this eclipse.  Venus and Mars are associated with love and desire, while Saturn pertains to structures and boundaries.  So there is no way that relationships are not going to be affected by this eclipse. A grand water trine can be very beneficial, but prepare yourself for a big day of the feels as emotions are heightened.

I can tell you that anyone who has planets or points (like Ascendant, IC, Midheaven or Nodes of the Moon) between 5-15 degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will definitely be feeling the effects of this Solar Eclipse on their relationships.  This Solar Eclipse falls in my 12th house but has a wide conjunction to my Libra Ascendant and squares my North Node in Capricorn and South Node in Cancer.  So I know that this eclipse will have a profound effect on my future as it guides me to release the past and move forward on my soul's destiny, which is what the North Node represents.  It probably won't be easy, but that is the nature of life.

What else is happening astrologically on the day of the Solar Eclipse?  The Solar Eclipse will be inconjunct Saturn in 14 degrees of Pisces, which will require some adjustments in relationships.  It can also make us feel a little more reserved and aware if our needs are not being met.  Saturn in 14 degrees of Pisces is forming a semi-square to Pluto in 29 degrees of Capricorn, which will provide a major reality check. This is actually the first major aspect between Saturn and Pluto since that conjunction in January 2020 that kicked off the pandemic.  I wouldn't be surprised if some restrictions were announced.  This aspect will remain in effect until January 2025.

Mars in 15 degrees of Cancer will be forming a quindecile (165 degrees apart) aspect with Pluto in 29 degrees on October 2.  Yes, Pluto in Capricorn is definitely getting some hits on this eclipse.  With Mars aspecting Pluto on an eclipse, there will be determination galore, but there can also be an obsessive and compulsive quality to the mix.

Mercury in 11 degrees of Libra is also forming a quindecile to Uranus in 26 degrees of Taurus. which could generate some new and unconventional ideas.  Don't rule out some mental breakthroughs involving technology on this Solar Eclipse.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. The Big Solar Eclipse in Libra Features a Yod

Hang on everyone, because the Big One is coming.  We have a Solar Eclipse in 21 degrees of Libra on October 14, 2023.  A Solar Eclipse in Libra is going to shine a light on relationships and can represent a release point and turnover. It is quite literally a closing cycle so that new beginnings can occur.  We can find ourselves getting rid of people-pleasing characteristics and I wouldn't be surprised if we hear about a lot more break-ups as a result of this eclipse. The South Node in Libra also symbolizes ending in relationships.  There is a tremendous amount of tension present in the chart for this eclipse.  

For starters, we have a cardinal T-square involving the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Pallas and the South Node in Libra squaring Pluto in 27 degrees of Capricorn.  Don't forget that Pluto is also squaring the North Node in 24 degrees of Aries.  Pluto squaring the Nodes is no picnic because it generates so much intensity.  Mars just entered Scorpio on October 12, when I posted:

Mars in Libra was anything but peaceable and Mars in Scorpio is still being squared by Pluto in Capricorn on the eclipse because it is only at 1 degree of Scorpio.  Mars in Libra squared Pluto in Capricorn on October 7, when I posted:

I don't think that anyone can ignore that Hamas attacked Israel on October 7 when the effects of this square were coming into play.  Pluto was also squaring the Nodes in Libra and Aries.  Mars in Libra has been very active and disruptive.  The bottom line with this cardinal pile-up of planets is that action happens; cardinal signs love to initiate.  I think it bears repeating that anyone with planets or points (Ascendant, IC, Descendant or Midheaven) in 27-29 degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn are bound to be feeling a lot of tension as a result of this eclipse.  The intensity is off the charts...

Pluto also stationed direct on October 10 in 27 degrees of Capricorn. Pluto is a major player in this eclipse.  On that day I posted:

But Mars in Scorpio does trine Saturn in 2 degrees of Pisces on October 13, which can be a more stabilizing influence and gives us more perseverance and courage to tackle the difficulties and challenges that lie ahead.  It is also a reality check.

Mercury in Libra is also opposing Chiron in 17 degrees of Aries on the eclipse.  This can reveal secrets and also trigger some healing which is much needed.

And now for the Yod.  A Yod is a configuration that exists when two planets form a supportive sextile (60 degrees apart) to each other while also forming an irritating inconjunct or quincunx (150 degrees apart) to a third planet.  A Yod is sometimes called the Finger of God or Finger of Fate.  Uranus in 22 degrees of Taurus is sextiling Neptune in 25 degrees of Pisces while they both are inconjunct the Moon in 21 degrees of Libra.  A Yod creates tension that needs to be released and adjustments must be made.  This tension can also leave us feeling very powerless over what is happening.  But we are undergoing many changes right now in the world and breaking karmic cycles is a big theme with this eclipse.

I have a vested interest in this Yod because I have a Yod in my natal chart involving my Moon in Gemini, North Node in Capricorn and Saturn in Scorpio.  If you have a Yod in your chart, it is interpreted as having a special mission in life and you could feel compelled to break ancestral patterns.  So, in many ways, it is a fated placement.  I can attest to the fact that it makes you feel different and you frequently question why unusual things keep happening to you.  I sometimes refer to it as the "Why me?" aspect.  I won't deny that it can be a difficult aspect because it requires lots of adjustments over the course of your life, but it is said to be good for the soul.  The Solar Eclipse in Libra occurs in my 1st house conjunct my Ascendant, while Uranus in Taurus is in my 8th house and Neptune in Pisces is in my 6th house.

I will also mention that the last time we had a Solar Eclipse in 21 degrees of Libra was on October 14, 2004.  How ironic that it is 19 years to the day in the same degree!  If you were around back then, I encourage you to reflect on what issues you were dealing with at that time because some of them could be resurfacing now.  I know that for me I was dealing with health issues and took up Pilates in the fall of 2004.  Now that Neptune in Pisces is currently in my 6th house, I wouldn't be surprised if this eclipse triggers some issues with my health or daily routines in my life.  I will say that Pilates was good for my soul and body, though...
