Venus Enters Aries and Jupiter Goes Direct in Cancer

 

Okay, we are still standing after last week's Mars-Uranus square which triggered the bombing of Iran, especially with Mars in Aquarius being the first planet to conjunct the Solar Eclipse in Aquarius of February 17  and this week's Lunar Eclipse in Virgo on March 3.  Now we are about to experience the movement of the two greater benefic planets Venus and Jupiter.

On March 6, 2026 Venus departs its sign of exaltation, Pisces and moves into Aries until March 30. Venus is actually considered to be in detriment in Aries (and Scorpio) because it rules Libra and Taurus, so it is not all that comfortable there.  When Venus is in Aries, there is a strong desire for excitement and a marked lack of patience.  It's all about the thrill of the chase, but the spark can fade quickly.  Spontaneity rules and we can be extremely impulsive.  This pertains to love and money. Be mindful of those two areas in life.

On March 7, Venus and Neptune are conjunct in 1 degree of Aries.  This increases our sensitivity and tendency towards daydreaming.  Fantasizing is very common with this aspect.  If you are single and meet someone new they could feel like a soulmate.  Compassion levels are high when Venus and Neptune merge. But there is also risk of disappointment if you have been in denial about the harsh realities of a toxic relationship.

The Sun and retrograde Mercury are conjunct in 17 degrees of Pisces on March 7 too.  Don't be surprised if you hear from some ghosts on that day.  It could be a friend, foe or ex-lover that reaches out to you on that day and there is the potential for something to be clarified now.  Mercury retrograde is notorious for stirring up people from our past and in the mutable water sign of sentimental Pisces, feelings can be intensified.

On March 8, Venus and Saturn are conjunct in 2 degrees of Aries.  This is a testing aspect and poses a harsh reality check.  Distance, separation and an inability to connect on a meaningful level are all possible manifestations.  Relationships as well as finances could be affected.  But if you do meet someone now it could be someone much older or the relationships could have a very karmic undertone.

Jupiter is finally going direct in 15 degrees of Cancer on March 10.  Jupiter has been retrograde since November 11, 2025 when it backtracked in 25 degrees of Cancer.  I have my natal Jupiter in Cancer, as well as my South Node, Midheaven and Uranus, so I have been feeling particularly frustrated in the luck and expansion department.  But this is definitely a day to rejoice because we can feel freer to act on our emotional intelligence.  Jupiter is exalted in the sign of Cancer but when it was retrograde it wasn't operating at full strength.  We could have felt held back emotionally or in matters pertaining to our home lives.  Now we have a cosmic green light to act on projects that nurture our soul.  The planet of luck, faith and optimism is back on track and will continue its transit in Cancer until June 30.  

Both Venus and Jupiter are in cardinal signs now, so we are definitely up for initiating some action.  Hopefully we all will feel a boost of energy to get moving in a positive direction.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. The Sun, Mercury and Venus in Aries Get Very Busy Before Retrograde Venus Re-enters Pisces

 

There is definitely an Aries vibe present these days.  The Sun just entered Aries on March 20, marking the start of the astrological new year as it joined Mercury and Venus.  These three planets frequently travel together in the same sign. I personally have my Sun, Mercury and Venus in Scorpio.

On March 21, Venus in Aries is forming a supportive sextile with Pluto in 3 degrees of Aquarius.  This will intensify our desire for love and companionship as it becomes a priority in our life.  Existing relationships can become more spiritual. If you are unattached, you could meet someone that you become obsessed with.  So this kicks off a theme of dating for the weekend.

The Sun and Venus are conjunct in 3 degrees of Aries on March 22.  The focus on companionship will continue.  The themes of harmony, pleasure and finances are also emphasized.  Beauty is important to us now, so pampering might be on the agenda for some.  Just don't do anything drastic like plastic surgery now because Venus is retrograde.  Artistic and creative pursuits are also getting a cosmic green light.  I have a natal Sun-Venus conjunction in Scorpio with my Venus retrograde, so I am partial to this aspect.  

The Sun in Aries has its own sextile with Pluto in 3 degrees of  Aquarius on March 23.  This is a day to harness those obsessive or compulsive tendencies to complete difficult tasks because there is a strong need to succeed.  This aspect also amps up our sense of power and attractiveness.  Try to use this power constructively to help others so that you will reap the benefits.

The Sun and Mercury are conjunct in 4 degrees of Aries on March 24.  We can expect more mental alertness and an emphasis on communication as ideas are bound to be shared.  Don't be surprised if you wind up taking more short trips now, but with Mercury being retrograde, please allow more time for travel.

Mercury in Aries is forming a supportive sextile to Pluto in 3 degrees of Aquarius on March 25.  We can definitely expect more depth and intensity in our thinking and communication on this day.  Probing and getting to the bottom of things are major themes.  It's also a perfect opportunity to study and do some research into whatever has been intriguing you.

As I mentioned earlier, Venus is retrograde and on March 27, it re-enters Pisces until April 30.  Venus will station direct in 24 degrees of Pisces on April 7.  Venus is exalted in the mutable water sign of Pisces and it was previously in Pisces from January 2 through February 4, 2025.  So if you didn't reap the benefits back then, you have another shot.

When Venus is in Pisces, it is easier to blur personal boundaries and be more idealistic, compassionate and empathetic.  It also fosters creativity and inspires us to engage in more self-care.  We can find it easier to let go of control in relationships too.  But just be mindful that the shadow side of Venus in Pisces a tendency to be the martyr or victim.  Hopefully we got our gullibility out of the way during the first transit of Venus in Pisces in January and February.

Mercury will be re-entering Pisces on March 29, which is also the day of the Solar Eclipse in 9 degrees of Aries.  More to come on those events in next week's post.

A Strong Theme of Relationships Prevails with a Solar Eclipse in Libra

We are edging into the last eclipse of this season and I know that many of you are feeling it already.  We already had the Lunar Eclipse in 25 degrees of Virgo on September 17 and we are facing a Solar Eclipse in 10 degrees of Libra on October 2.

Before we experience the Solar Eclipse, we actually have a couple of delightful aspects coming our way.  On September 30, Mars in Cancer is trining Saturn in 14 degrees of Pisces.  It is such a relief to see these two planets getting along. I have a natal Mars-Saturn square, and I know firsthand how contentious and frustrating it can be.  It can feel like you just can't make any progress when Mars and Saturn are in challenging aspects, like a square, opposition or inconjunct. This aspect will give us strength, ambition and perseverance to tackle those difficult tasks we are facing and succeed. This is truly a day when patience and self-discipline will pay off.  

The Sun and Mercury are conjunct in 7 degrees of Libra on September 30 too.  This aspect blesses us with mental alertness, quick thinking and adaptability.  We are in the mood to share ideas, meet new people and schedule appointments.  It's definitely a good idea to put your thinking cap on and expect positive results.

The Sun and Moon are conjunct in 10 degrees of Libra at 2:49 p.m. on October 2 for the Solar Eclipse.  It is a South Node eclipse, which means that we are moving away from the past.  For some people, relationships could be ending or we could find ourselves needing to release a situation so that we can enter a new phase in our lives.  This Solar Eclipse in Libra will focus on big changes in relationships and developing more of a sense of balance in existing relationships.  The sign of Libra is also associated with the law (the scales of balance), so it's possible that important legal cases could be in the news.  While we had a Solar Eclipse in Libra last year in 21 degrees on October 14, we actually had one in exactly 10 degrees of Libra on October 3, 2005.  I encourage anyone old enough to remember whatever issues you were facing back then and see if any of them come up again this time.

The planet Venus rules Libra and Venus in 11 degrees of Scorpio will be forming a grand water trine with Mars in 15 degrees of Cancer and Saturn in 14 degrees of Pisces.  This only reinforces the importance of relationships during this eclipse.  Venus and Mars are associated with love and desire, while Saturn pertains to structures and boundaries.  So there is no way that relationships are not going to be affected by this eclipse. A grand water trine can be very beneficial, but prepare yourself for a big day of the feels as emotions are heightened.

I can tell you that anyone who has planets or points (like Ascendant, IC, Midheaven or Nodes of the Moon) between 5-15 degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will definitely be feeling the effects of this Solar Eclipse on their relationships.  This Solar Eclipse falls in my 12th house but has a wide conjunction to my Libra Ascendant and squares my North Node in Capricorn and South Node in Cancer.  So I know that this eclipse will have a profound effect on my future as it guides me to release the past and move forward on my soul's destiny, which is what the North Node represents.  It probably won't be easy, but that is the nature of life.

What else is happening astrologically on the day of the Solar Eclipse?  The Solar Eclipse will be inconjunct Saturn in 14 degrees of Pisces, which will require some adjustments in relationships.  It can also make us feel a little more reserved and aware if our needs are not being met.  Saturn in 14 degrees of Pisces is forming a semi-square to Pluto in 29 degrees of Capricorn, which will provide a major reality check. This is actually the first major aspect between Saturn and Pluto since that conjunction in January 2020 that kicked off the pandemic.  I wouldn't be surprised if some restrictions were announced.  This aspect will remain in effect until January 2025.

Mars in 15 degrees of Cancer will be forming a quindecile (165 degrees apart) aspect with Pluto in 29 degrees on October 2.  Yes, Pluto in Capricorn is definitely getting some hits on this eclipse.  With Mars aspecting Pluto on an eclipse, there will be determination galore, but there can also be an obsessive and compulsive quality to the mix.

Mercury in 11 degrees of Libra is also forming a quindecile to Uranus in 26 degrees of Taurus. which could generate some new and unconventional ideas.  Don't rule out some mental breakthroughs involving technology on this Solar Eclipse.

Summer is Coming as Venus, Mercury and the Sun Enter Cancer

 

Gemini season is winding down its journey and for many of us, it can't come soon enough.  The New Moon in Gemini on June 6 featured the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in Gemini which generated a tremendous amount of nervous energy and had quite a few people feeling very scattered. It was very frenetic, to say the least.

But the Sun, Mercury and Venus in Gemini have a few more moves to make before they depart.  On June 14, the Sun and Mercury will be conjunct in 23 degrees of Gemini. This should actually be quite pleasant as thinking and communication are emphasized.  Mercury is very comfortable in Gemini, so it will probably entail more socializing and information processing.  The Moon is entering the air sign of Libra during the afternoon, which adds to vibe of wanting to connect with others.  And it's possible that we could be planning some short trips with the Sun and Mercury joining together.

On June 16, Father's Day, Venus in Gemini is squaring Neptune in 29 degrees of Pisces.  This aspect has the potential to create some insecurity and we need to be mindful of people trying to con us or deceive us.  Just remember that anything that seems to be good to be true probably is.  And this aspect occurs in the anaretic degree of both planets, so we could find ourselves needing to make decisions regarding long-standing issues in relationships or finances that have been colored by our idealism. The themes of escapism and substance abuse are also present with Venus squaring Neptune.  

On June 17 Venus enters the cardinal water sign of Cancer at 2:20 a.m. and stays there until July 11. When Venus is in Cancer, we are more sentimental, nostalgic and sensitive.  We are also more inclined to be affectionate and might feel like entertaining at home.  It is a time when our nurturing and protective sides come out to play big-time. Family can become more important to us. We are quite literally dedicated to those we love, but we are also prone to experience more ups and downs in love.  

Mercury is right behind Venus when it moves into Cancer at 5:07 a.m. on June 17.  It will quite literally be zipping through Cancer and will leave on July 2.  Be prepared for some deeper communication from the heart on a very deep instinctual level. Our thoughts will be colored by our emotions, for better or worse. We could wind up being snappy and saying spiteful things. Say good-bye to objectivity. Cardinal signs like to be in control and Mercury in Cancer is going to take that to an emotional level.  It does favor reviewing the past, though, so hold onto that thought and use it constructively.

The Sun enters Cancer on June 20 for the official launch of summer.  It is the longest day of summer and sunlight, so get out there and enjoy it. Our focus completely shifts when the Sun is in Cancer.  Our feelings are more important now as we become more emotional, self-protective and sentimental.  It is a quieter, more relaxed pace. This is probably why so many people plan their vacation at this time of year.  The Sun in Cancer might also be a nesting period for us when our home becomes more important and we could initiate some decorating or renovation projects.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. The Sun and Mercury Make Some Major Moves Before They Enter Scorpio

 

The Sun and Mercury are winding up their time in Libra before they enter Scorpio, but they are both making grand exits.  On October 20, the Sun and Mercury are conjunct in 26 degrees of Libra.  This aspect will cause increased mental stimulation and deliver new perspectives.  It is exactly conjunct my natal Neptune in my 1st house and also conjunct my natal Mercury in 0 degrees of Scorpio, so I suspect that it will be an enlightening day for me.

Mercury in Libra is exactly squaring Pluto in 27 degrees of Capricorn on October 20 as well.  The tension of the square could deliver a crisis, but we can be guaranteed of deep thinking and intense interactions.  Be brave on this day and remember that we very well might need to make a psychological choice.

On October 21, the Sun in Libra is squaring Pluto in 27 degrees of Capricorn.  I happen to have a natal Sun/Pluto square in my chart in the fixed signs of Scorpio and Leo, so I am all too familiar with the ramifications of this aspect.  Sun squaring Pluto is all about power, control, and assertion, but it also can lead to major transformation if you can get past its potential for manipulative behavior.  Just warning you that this could be a tough day...

On October 22, Mercury enters the fixed water sign of Scorpio until November 10.  When Mercury is in Scorpio, our thoughts and communication are more probing and intense.  We seek to uncover hidden truths and will leave no stone unturned.  Our conversations will be deeper but can also be obsessive and sarcastic.  Scorpio is renowned for its stinger.  But we can be very persuasive and our words are very powerful.  Mercury in Scorpio is also trining Saturn in 0 degrees of Pisces on this day.  This can be a very positive influence, as our powers of concentration are strong, as is our attention to detail.  Common sense is readily available and we can make long-term plans.  Quite literally, we are accountable for our actions in a good way.  This can be a very grounding influence.

We have one another prominent aspect featured on October 22.  Venus in Virgo is trining Jupiter in 12 degrees of Taurus.  This is another very positive aspect that tends to bring good cheer, optimism, love, socializing and a penchant for shopping.  After all, it is a meeting of the two benefics.  The only potential downside to this aspect is that Venus is in fall in Virgo, and it can be prone to being somewhat stingy and critical.  Just be mindful of these qualities and we should be just fine.

On October 23, the Sun enters Scorpio and we are officially in Scorpio season.  Our focus shifts to desire, passion and extremes of feeling. We can be very strong-willed now (Scorpio is the fixed water sign, after all) and intensity is the name of the game.  It can also be a time of immense healing and transformation, so be mindful of that.  The shadow side of the Sun in Scorpio is jealousy, vindictiveness and manipulation.  I am sure that you have been warned to never cross a Scorpio or you will live to regret it.  Scorpio can be the most loyal friend in the world but they can also be your worst enemy.  It really is true about the extremes of emotion...

The Sun in Scorpio is trining Saturn in Pisces on October 24.  This is a day of patience, persistence and determination.  Set your goals and you just might find that you can reach them more easily than usual.  Even if you assume added responsibilities on this day, it won't feel stressful.  You might score a promotion, gain recognition for your abilities and wind up feeling better about yourself.  This aspect is a boon for higher self-esteem.
