Chiron Enters Taurus and the Sun Moves into Cancer for the Summer Solstice

 

Save the day of June 19 for a historic astrological event.  The Sun enters Taurus on that day until September 17 for a preview of the main event of Chiron in Taurus transit that officially kicks off in April 2027 through 2033.  Chiron has been in Aries since 2018 and we have been dealing with healing our wounds pertaining to identity and independence.  Chiron will return to Aries in September 2026 for to resolve unfinished business in that area of our lives.

What is the theme of Chiron in Taurus?  With Chiron in Taurus, we will be working on healing our wounds around self-worth, money and resources.  We will be dealing with the belief that we aren't enough or don't have enough.  That is how the wound manifests when Chiron is in Taurus.  Economic security and agriculture could be dominant themes.  It's time to heal our relationship with self-worth and financial insecurity.

Chiron was last in Taurus from 1976 through 1984.  If you were born during that period you will be experiencing your Chiron Return, which happens to everyone between the ages of 49-51.  If you are old enough to have been alive then, you might want to reflect on what was going on in your life back then.  Similar themes could resurface.

Chiron does not get beyond 0 degrees of Taurus before it stations retrograde on August 3, 2026 and moves back into Aries on September 17, 2026.  Chiron will station direct in 26 degrees of Aries on January 6, 2027.

On June 21, the Sun enters Cancer for the Summer Solstice.  Our focus shifts towards deep emotional introspection, home life and nurturing.  We could also find ourselves engaged in upgrading our living space and doing some inner healing.  We are more emotionally sensitive and sentimental too.  Nostalgia can overtake us.  And we might be hosting parties or barbecues now.  This is also Father's Day, so Happy Father's Day to all of the dads out there.

The Sun in Cancer is also forming a supportive sextile to Chiron on Taurus on June 21.  This can be very beneficial in terms of healing deep-seated wounds by integrating them with our identity and ego.  It's easier to be vulnerable now, so let the healing begin!

On June 22-23, the Sun in Cancer will be trining the North Node in 1 degree of Pisces.  This helps us to align our identity with our destiny and soul purpose.  Doors will open more easily and we could meet people who are instrumental in helping us to move forward.  Don't be afraid to launch new endeavors during this time.

We do have a temporary blip on June 25 when the Sun in Cancer is squaring Neptune in 4 degrees of Aries.  Confusion and doubts could surface.  It might  be difficult to get motivated as low energy and insecurity prevail. But just remember that this is temporary so don’t let it get you down.  This too shall pass...

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. The Sun Enters Cancer, Meets up with Jupiter, an Illuminating New Moon in Cancer and Mercury Moves into Leo for an Extended Stay

 

Summer is officially here on June 20 at 10:42 pm when the Sun enters Cancer for the Solstice. When the Sun is in the cardinal water sign of Cancer, we are more focused on nesting, security and experiencing deep emotions.  Never forget that Cancer is ruled by the Moon.  We are inclined to be more nurturing and protective when the Sun is in Cancer, but the shadow side of the Sun in Cancer is moodiness.

The Cancer Sun doesn't waste any time getting into it with the other planets.  On June 22, the Sun in Cancer is squaring Saturn in 1 degree of Aries.  This is not exactly a lighthearted aspect.  It can be accompanied by challenges and tests, as well as feelings of depression and pessimism.  There could be restrictions and responsibilities galore.  It can bring a test of character, so do your best to meet your obligations or you could wind up regretting it down the road.  

We do have a saving grace aspect on June 22, though. Mars in Virgo is forming a supportive sextile to Jupiter in 2 degrees of Cancer.  Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, which means that Mars sextiling Jupiter can make us feel stronger and more courageous to tackle those difficult tasks that we are facing.

On June 24, the Sun and Jupiter are conjunct in 3 degrees of Cancer.  Some astrologers are referring to this as the luckiest day of the year.  Feelings of well-being, happiness and optimism will be out in full force. Personal and spiritual growth are out in full force.  We can also be feeling more generous towards others.  Make the most of this day.

We have a New Moon in 4 degrees of Cancer on June 25.  This particular New Moon can provide a fresh start in our home life and with our emotions.  It's possible to move into a bigger place, especially with New Moon conjunct Jupiter in Cancer.  But the New Moon in Cancer is also squaring Saturn in 1 degree of Aries and Neptune in 2 degrees of Aries.  If you have any planets or points in the early degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, you will feel this quite acutely.

When the New Moon in Cancer squares Saturn in Aries, it can be difficult to connect with people in a meaningful way.  The theme of restriction looms and we can experience feelings of depression, sadness, loneliness and guilt.

The New Moon in Cancer's square to Neptune in Aries can manifest as confusion and emotional insecurity.  Our feelings can be very easily hurt because we are so emotionally sensitive. The Neptune factor also makes us vulnerable to deception, but it can make us more empathetic towards others if we choose the high road.

We have yet another complicating factor with this New Moon.  Mercury in 28 degrees of Cancer is forming an opposition to Pluto in 3 degrees of Aquarius.  Secrets could be revealed; matters can come to a head and some people might demonstrate a complete lack of moral compass in their quest for power and control. I don't know about you, but I have been reeling from the actions by some people in this world, both on a personal and collective level.

Mercury moves into Leo on June 26 for an extended stay until September 2.  That's right, we have another Mercury retrograde coming up on July 18, when it stations retrograde in 15 degrees of Leo.  It will station direct on August 11 in 4 degrees of Leo.

What can we expect with Mercury in Leo?  Communication will be bolder, more confident, creative and dramatic.  It's a very social vibe too and is extremely favorable for public speaking and leadership roles.  It is really a time to shine and strut your stuff.

Summer is Coming as Venus, Mercury and the Sun Enter Cancer

 

Gemini season is winding down its journey and for many of us, it can't come soon enough.  The New Moon in Gemini on June 6 featured the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in Gemini which generated a tremendous amount of nervous energy and had quite a few people feeling very scattered. It was very frenetic, to say the least.

But the Sun, Mercury and Venus in Gemini have a few more moves to make before they depart.  On June 14, the Sun and Mercury will be conjunct in 23 degrees of Gemini. This should actually be quite pleasant as thinking and communication are emphasized.  Mercury is very comfortable in Gemini, so it will probably entail more socializing and information processing.  The Moon is entering the air sign of Libra during the afternoon, which adds to vibe of wanting to connect with others.  And it's possible that we could be planning some short trips with the Sun and Mercury joining together.

On June 16, Father's Day, Venus in Gemini is squaring Neptune in 29 degrees of Pisces.  This aspect has the potential to create some insecurity and we need to be mindful of people trying to con us or deceive us.  Just remember that anything that seems to be good to be true probably is.  And this aspect occurs in the anaretic degree of both planets, so we could find ourselves needing to make decisions regarding long-standing issues in relationships or finances that have been colored by our idealism. The themes of escapism and substance abuse are also present with Venus squaring Neptune.  

On June 17 Venus enters the cardinal water sign of Cancer at 2:20 a.m. and stays there until July 11. When Venus is in Cancer, we are more sentimental, nostalgic and sensitive.  We are also more inclined to be affectionate and might feel like entertaining at home.  It is a time when our nurturing and protective sides come out to play big-time. Family can become more important to us. We are quite literally dedicated to those we love, but we are also prone to experience more ups and downs in love.  

Mercury is right behind Venus when it moves into Cancer at 5:07 a.m. on June 17.  It will quite literally be zipping through Cancer and will leave on July 2.  Be prepared for some deeper communication from the heart on a very deep instinctual level. Our thoughts will be colored by our emotions, for better or worse. We could wind up being snappy and saying spiteful things. Say good-bye to objectivity. Cardinal signs like to be in control and Mercury in Cancer is going to take that to an emotional level.  It does favor reviewing the past, though, so hold onto that thought and use it constructively.

The Sun enters Cancer on June 20 for the official launch of summer.  It is the longest day of summer and sunlight, so get out there and enjoy it. Our focus completely shifts when the Sun is in Cancer.  Our feelings are more important now as we become more emotional, self-protective and sentimental.  It is a quieter, more relaxed pace. This is probably why so many people plan their vacation at this time of year.  The Sun in Cancer might also be a nesting period for us when our home becomes more important and we could initiate some decorating or renovation projects.

Saturn Stations Retrograde in Pisces, a New Moon in Gemini and the Sun Enters Cancer

 

We have another highly active week coming up astrologically.  On June 17, Saturn stations retrograde in 7 degrees of Pisces.  It remains retrograde until November 4, when it stations direct in 0 degrees of Pisces.  Saturn is the planet renowned for its affiliation with responsibility, delays, lessons and frustrations, but as Christopher Renstrom so eloquently stated in his Astrology Hub podcast this week, we don't get a break in these areas of life just because Saturn will be retrograde.

As a matter of fact, Saturn retrograde will make things even slower and probably cause more delays as we become more reflective.  Saturn entered Pisces on March 7, 2023 (on a Full Moon in Virgo to boot) and we could definitely find ourselves dealing with issues that were prevalent in early March. Saturn retrograde is a time of karmic reckoning.  We will need to take responsibility for past actions and own any mistakes that we have made.  It is indeed a time to look to the wisdom of the past for guidance.  We are probably going to be reassessing our boundaries and learning to accept the restrictions in our lives.  Don't be surprised if you wind up feeling sad, tired and stuck.  Our mental health and spiritual beliefs are coming under intense scrutiny. Restructuring is a key theme of Saturn retrograde.  It really depends on where transiting Saturn in Pisces is falling in your chart and the aspects that it makes to your natal and progressed planets.  Saturn in Pisces is currently in my 5th house, which is kind of stifling my inner child.  By the time it stations direct in November 2023, it will be trining my natal Mercury in Scorpio, so hopefully I will have gleaned some insights and figured a few things out to restructure my life and experience more joy and creativity.

On June 18, 2023 we have a New Moon in 26 degrees of Gemini.  New Moons are associated with setting new intentions and a New Moon in Gemini can provide lots of information, as well as requiring us to make some important choices. But this New Moon is squaring Neptune in 27 degrees of Pisces, which can add some delusion, fog and a stressful vibe. A lot of information will be circulating and it could be very confusing.  Pay attention to details during this New Moon, do your research and apply your common sense.  The New Moon in Gemini can also be very creative and romantic because both Mars and Venus are in the sign of Leo. The best possible outcome of this New Moon in Gemini is that we will connect to our spiritual side, open up our psychic sensitivity and obtain a different perspective on all of this information that is being presented to us.

Jupiter in Taurus will be forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in 7 degrees of Pisces on June 19.  This is a very positive aspect that has a theme of cautious expansion.  Jupiter loves to expand while Saturn tends to restrict, so when these two planets are in a favorable aspect, it really is a good thing.  If we are patient, persevere and act responsibly while using our common sense, we can definitely see long-lasting benefits in the future.

The Sun enters the cardinal water sign of Cancer on June 21, 2023 and marks the official start of summer.  When the Sun is in Cancer, we are more emotional, sensitive and inclined to be more protective towards loved ones.  Our nesting urge takes hold and we might be prone to making some home improvements.  We are more nurturing and instinctive.  Just be mindful that the shadow side of the Sun in Cancer is a tendency to be more manipulative.  Mercury and Uranus are moving very quickly in the sign of Taurus now, so we can look at facts with a new perspective.  Uranus is in 21 degrees of Taurus and it has not been here since May 1940 due to its 84-year cycle.  Once again, the theme of looking to the past for guidance resurfaces.  I am a firm believer that history can repeat itself unless we pay attention.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Venus Makes Some Moves and the Sun Enters Cancer

 

Venus in Taurus has been pretty busy lately. The recent Super Full Moon in Sagittarius on June 14 was inconjunct Venus and this added to the emotional intensity.  On that day I tweeted:

Today is the Super #FullMoon in Sagittarius which has strong themes of freedom and truth. It will be very emotional. But it squares Neptune in Pisces indicating that all is not as it seems. Just warning you… #astrology

But Venus in Taurus is not done stirring the pot.  On June 18, it forms an exact square with Saturn in 25 degrees of Aquarius.  This aspect adds a whole new layer of stress to relationships.  We can experience delays, distance, criticism and fears in love.  Loneliness and depression could be running rampant.  It can literally feel like we have to work hard on our relationships to make them function.

Venus in Taurus is back to its loving form on June 19, which is Father's Day.  It forms a supportive sextile with Neptune in 25 degrees of Pisces, which can be a very romantic and passionate vibe.  It is also very creative but can see us having the urge to splurge on luxury items that make us feel better. It also tends to heighten our intuition and make us feel more psychic.  Unfortunately we have two more problematic aspects on that day.  The Moon in Pisces is squaring Mercury in 5 degrees of Gemini which can lead to some disagreements.  And the Sun in Gemini is forming an irritating inconjunct with Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn.  This aspect can trigger a mini-crisis that results in neurotic, destructive or obsessive behavior.  So this could be an emotional powder keg of a day.  Try not to take it out on Dad...

Venus in Taurus signs off with a trine to Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn on June 21.  This is one of the more fortunate aspects that Venus and Pluto can make, which is a good thing.  It adds depth and intensity to our feelings and relationships.  It's possible to experience inner growth and transformation in our relationships now.

Venus enters the sign of Gemini on June 22 and stays there until July 17, 2022.  When Venus is in Gemini, variety is the spice of life as we are more sociable, communicative and flirtatious.  Curiosity motivates us on romantic and social levels.  Attractions could begin on a mental level and words are powerful aphrodisiacs.  The shadow side of Venus in Gemini is fickleness, as we there are lots of choices available to us. If we meet someone new, we might tire of them quickly.  Since Venus also rules finances, we need to be mindful of careless spending at this time.

The Sun moves into Cancer for the Summer Solstice on June 21.  It's officially summer.  When the Sun is in Cancer, we are more self-protective and our nesting instinct takes over.  Emotions run deep because Cancer is a water sign.  The water signs of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces will be very comfortable with this transit, as will the earth signs of  Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn.  But Libra and Aries will experience more emotional tension while the Sun is in Cancer.
