Another Active Week as Uranus Moves Back into Taurus While Mercury and Jupiter Turn Retrograde

 

Well, if you survived the Mars-Uranus opposition on November 4 and the Full Moon in Taurus on November 5, there is more to forward to in the coming week in terms of having your life turned upside down.  On November 7, retrograde Uranus dips back into Taurus until April 25, 2026.  Uranus will go direct in 27 degrees of Taurus on February 3, 2026 but it will take until April to finally depart the sign of Taurus and move into Gemini for seven years.

Uranus is not terribly comfortable in Taurus, as I am sure most of you have figured out since 2018. Uranus is a very future-oriented planet while Taurus tends to cling to the past.  Uranus was only in Gemini for four months this year, since July 7, so we won't get the full experience until April.  Money and security issues will be emphasized when Uranus is back in Taurus and we could be seeing some economic makeovers.  Uranus has an 84-year cycle, and the last time Uranus was in Taurus it was during the Great Depression from 1934 through early 1942.  During the Great Depression Social Security and unemployment compensation were implemented.  So it's not exactly a shock that Medicaid and health care are up for review now.  We are definitely facing a time when we need to change our relationship to money and materialism.  The shadow side of Uranus in Taurus is the rise of dictatorships which can lead to wars.  World War II followed that last major transit of Uranus in Taurus.  The next five months should be very interesting...

Mercury stations retrograde on November 9 at 6 degrees of Sagittarius and remains retrograde until November 29.  But this Mercury retrograde dips into Scorpio on November 18 and stations direct in 20 degrees of Scorpio on the 29th.  In addition to the usual delays, frustrations, misunderstandings and electronic malfunctions, we have it in two signs. 

When Mercury is retrograde in Sagittarius, we might be questioning our beliefs and be acting more spontaneously.  Mercury retrograde in Scorpio will bring more in-depth honesty and self-reflection.  There could be some big emotional reveals and some messy truth but it also holds the promise of rebuilding from a place of wisdom.  Obviously the signs of Sagittarius and Scorpio will feel the brunt of this Mercury retrograde, but the signs of Virgo and Gemini will also take a hit because they are ruled by Mercury.  We will all need to call on our reserves of patience during this Mercury retrograde.  Mercury will be stationing direct on my Sun in Scorpio, so I know that I won't be missing out on the action...

Jupiter joins the retrograde party on November 11 when it stations retrograde in 25 degrees of Cancer.  It will be retrograde until March 10, 2026 when it goes direct in 15 degrees of Cancer.  Jupiter retrograde in Cancer represents a time to reflect on our goals, home life and long-term emotional fulfillment.  There can be delays with home and property or family matters.  We aren't going to be engaged so much in outward expansion, but more spiritual growth is called for.  Jupiter retrograde is a time when we create our own good luck and fortune instead of having it appear to us on the surface.  It is not nearly as challenging as Saturn, Pluto or Mercury retrograde, though.  Just remember that and take comfort from it.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Mars in Cancer Sees Some Action and Jupiter Goes Retrograde

Well, we all have hopefully survived eclipse season. Technically, we enter the shadow of the Solar Eclipse in Libra of October 2 on October 5 so that it is safer to act on implementing change.  On October 2, I posted:

Today is the big #SolarEclipse in Libra that will profoundly affect relationships. It is a South Node eclipse which has a theme of release and beginning a new phase after the ending of an old one. #astrology

The Solar Eclipse in 10 degrees of Libra was widely squaring Mars in 15 degrees of Cancer.  But we are by no means done with the hits to Mars in Cancer.  On October 6, Mercury in Libra will be squaring Mars in 17 degrees of Cancer.  This day has strong themes of frustration, short-temperedness and aggression.  It can also be accompanied by rushed thinking and disagreements.  I would strongly encourage everyone NOT to make any major decisions on this day if you can help it.

The Sun in Libra will also be inconjunct Saturn in 14 degrees of Pisces on October 6. When the Sun is inconjunct Saturn, we are dealing with a major imbalance between what we want to do and what must be done.  It represents a conflict between freedom and responsibility.  Our sense of freedom is hampered and we have to remain flexible so that we can be prepared to  make adjustments.  Adjustments is always the key word when an inconjunct is present.

But Venus in Scorpio is trining Mars in 18 degrees of Cancer on October 8.  This is a very nice aspect that increases our desire for social contact and love.  It also stimulates our creativity.  After the last few weeks, we'll take it...

We have another delightful aspect occurring on October 8.  Mercury in Libra is trining Jupiter in 21 degrees of Gemini.  Optimism and good news are hallmarks of this happy occurrence.  It's a perfect time to make plans because it is a very future-oriented vibe. It facilitates meeting new people too that can become friends and is also very auspicious for travel.

On October 9 Jupiter stations retrograde in 21 degrees of Gemini until February 4, 2025, when it moves forward in 11 degrees of Gemini.  Jupiter retrograde happens every year and is not nearly as traumatic as Mercury retrograde, so there is no need to fear it.  It is a time of introspection and spiritual growth on an inner rather than an external level as we reexamine our deep beliefs and ethics.  It also represents an opportunity to face out past mistakes so that we can right our wrongs.  We will probably develop an awareness that our truths can be very different from the truths of those around us.  Since Jupiter also represents luck, we just might find that we need to make our own luck because when Jupiter is retrograde it is definitely an inside job.  Our growth and expansion are on a more spiritual level.  The shadow side of Jupiter retrograde is that we can be prone to greediness and self-indulgence.

If you have planets between 21 and 11 degrees of the mutable signs of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius, you will have a deeper and more profound experience with this Jupiter retrograde.  I have my natal Moon in 14 degrees of Gemini in my 8th house and while I did experience the conjunction in August, I know that I really didn't take full advantage of that opportunity, so I am looking forward to having it occur again in mid to late December 2024.  The important thing to remember with Jupiter transits is that you must utilize them and take advantage of whatever opportunities present themselves to you.  It's not like Uranus, Pluto or Saturn transits that tend to hit you pretty hard and are impossible to ignore.  It's literally a case of if you snooze, you lose with Jupiter transits.  The best part for me is I will get yet another opportunity for Jupiter to conjunct my Moon in March 2025 when Jupiter in Gemini is direct.  And that is food for thought...

The bottom line is that this coming week will open a small window of opportunity to act and implement new ideas before we have Pluto turning direct in Capricorn on October 11 for its final journey before entering Aquarius on November 19, the Sun in Libra squaring Mars in Cancer on October 14 and a Full Moon in Aries on October 17. And how could we forget that the Sun will enter Scorpio on November 22 ramping up the intensity level even more.

Leo Season is Officially Here as the Sun Enters Leo, a New Moon in Leo and Jupiter Stations Retrograde

 

The season of Leo is officially here on July 22 when the Sun enters Leo at 4:07 pm.  Mercury entered Leo on July 19, when I tweeted:

The Sun rules Leo, so it is extremely comfortable in this sign.  It is a playful, exuberant time when we can let our inner child out to play and have some fun.  It's no coincidence that many people take vacations while the Sun is in Leo. We feel proud, outgoing and generous.  Whatever house Leo falls in your chart is where you will shine and attract attention.  It starts out in my 10th house of career and public standing and then moves into my 11th house of friendships, group associations and long-term goals on August 11.  But we do need to be mindful of the shadow side of the Sun in Leo: a tendency to be vain and self-centered.

On July 28 we have a juicy New Moon in 5 degrees of Leo.  A New Moon in Leo has a very creative and potentially romantic vibe that affords us the opportunity to set new intentions in whatever area of life it falls in your natal chart.  If it falls in your 5th or 7th house the theme of romance and a fresh start in love is doubly emphasized.  If you are not sure where this New Moon falls in your chart, please consider getting an astrological reading with me.

This New Moon is not making a lot of aspects, however.  Mercury in 18 degrees of Leo is exactly squaring Uranus in 18 degrees of Taurus, which could play out in surprising news involving communication and travel.  I wouldn't be surprised if technology factors into this New Moon quite prominently and delivers some breakthroughs.  I have this aspect natally and I can attest to the fact that it is a bid of a wild card. The New Moon in Leo is also trining Jupiter in 8 degrees of  Aries, which should put us in a good mood and make it easier to share our feelings, express more generosity and be inclined to socialize.

Jupiter in Aries is also stationing retrograde at 4:37 pm on the day of the New Moon.  Jupiter will make one last pit stop in Pisces on October 28, station direct in 28 degrees of  Pisces on November 23 and return to Aries on December 20, 2022.  When Jupiter is retrograde, we could experience inflation and some conflicts.  It is inclined towards spiritual introspection and reflection.  Jupiter is also associated with finding the truth and you might discover that your truth differs from other people.  Look to where Jupiter is transiting in your chart.  It is in my 6th house and I know that I need to be reflecting on my health and daily routines.  When Jupiter is retrograde, you pretty much need to make your own luck and act on the inspirations that you receive when Jupiter goes direct.  Jupiter retrograde is not as bad as Mercury retrograde, but it still has the effect of slowing you down somewhat to reevaluate how you want to grow and expand in your life.  This can be a very good thing because it forces you to examine what hasn't been working for you so that you can implement new strategies and achieve success when Jupiter is direct.

Retrograde Season is Officially Here While Mercury and Mars Change Signs

We are fresh off the heels off a powerfully intense full moon in Scorpio, but there is plenty of astrological action coming up in the next week.

Retrograde season will be officially here as three more planets join Pluto to form a retrograde party between May 11-14, 2020.  Saturn stations retrograde in 1 degree of Aquarius on May 11, 2020 and stations direct in 25 degrees of Capricorn on September 28, 2020.  I find it supremely ironic that Saturn is the first planet to station retrograde this coming week, joining its partner in crime Pluto.  By now we all know that the Saturn Pluto conjunction in Capricorn on January 12, 2020 was the beginning of the coronavirus.

We all know that when planets are retrograde it is a time to review and reflect.  The power of a planet is especially potent when it stations retrograde or direct.  Saturn begins its retrograde in the sign of Aquarius but moves back into Capricorn on June 30, 2020.  Saturn has a traditionally bad rep for being very frustrating in terms of the limitations and challenges it forces upon us.  Saturn retrograde in Aquarius is a time to review how our structures and habits support our expressions of freedom, our unique abilities and our intuition.  Saturn retrograde in Aquarius can be extremely uncomfortable because Aquarius loves freedom and during this period of COVOID-19 everyone’s freedoms are being severely curtailed. 

Saturn will be retrograde in Capricorn from July 1 through September 28, 2020.  Saturn rules Capricorn and is more comfortable in that sign, so its focus will be on reviewing and revamping our levels of maturity, responsibility, time management and planning for the future.

Venus stations retrograde in 21 degrees of Gemini on May 13, 2020 and stations direct on June 24, 2020 in 5 degrees of Gemini.  Venus is only retrograde approximately every 18 months, so it’s kind of a big deal. I have it natally in the sign of Scorpio, so I am all too familiar with its energy.  And this particular Venus retrograde will conjunct my natal moon in Gemini in my 8^th house in early June 2020. When Venus is retrograde, it’s time to review relationships, creativity and finances. Venus retrograde in Gemini will also be squaring Neptune in Pisces, so it could very well boost our creativity and insight, but the shadow side of this Venus retrograde is that it could make us prone to self-indulgence, having poor personal boundaries and playing the victim in relationships.  And I always tell my clients not to get married when Venus is retrograde, because the relationship will undoubtedly have complexities and challenges that could prove to be insurmountable.  I realize that this may not be good news for those who dreamed of being a June bride, but in the age of coronavirus, weddings are anything but traditional.

Jupiter is the last planet to join the retrograde party.  It stations retrograde in 27 degrees of Capricorn on May 14, 2020 and stations direct on September 12, 2020 in 17 degrees of Capricorn.  When Jupiter is retrograde, it represents an opportunity to review and reflect on higher education, philosophy, the meaning of life, optimism and hope.  Jupiter in Capricorn is very practical and hope is a major theme during these challenging times.

On May 11, 2020 Mercury moves from the fixed earth sign of Taurus to the mutable air sign of Gemini, where it stays until May 28, 2020.  Mercury rules both Gemini and Virgo, so it is right at home here.  Mercury in Gemini is very comfortable and is more communicative, curious and sociable. It’s also more attracted to superficial knowledge (it loves variety) than delving deeply into one topic.  If there is a shadow side to Mercury in Gemini, it is that it is easily distracted.

On May 13, 2020, Mars moves from the fixed air sign of Aquarius to the mutable water sign of Pisces until June 27, 2020. Mars in Pisces experiences motivation on a more spiritual and emotional level; it’s just not that comfortable expressing itself physically. It dislikes confrontation and is very idealistic.  It does have a tendency to dip its toes into codependent waters by putting others needs ahead of its own, so be mindful of that fact.

The coronavirus outbreak is causing me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people are concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions in order to practice social distancing.  A distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages.  I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. A Cardinal T-Square Adds More Fuel to the Fire of a New Moon in Aries and Jupiter Retrograde

The month of April is off to an intense and energizing start due in no small part to the influx of Aries energy. Aries is the cardinal fire sign that is the sign of the warrior and represents courage, new beginnings, with a shadow side of impatience and impulsive behavior.  There is a new moon in 15 degrees of Aries on April 5, 2019, but the moon actually moved into Aries late on the evening of April 3, 2019.  And on April 4, 2019, it sextiled Mars in Gemini, inspiring me to tweet:

The new moon on April 5, 2019 features a cardinal T-square involving the sun and moon conjunct in 15 degrees of Aries squaring Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn with Pluto in 23 degrees of Capricorn exactly conjunct the south node in 23 degrees of Capricorn.  And adding to the mix is the fact that the asteroid Pallas Athena, the goddess of wisdom, also features prominently in this T-square in 21 degrees of Libra.  Pallas Athena is also a warrior, which fits in with the Aries theme even though it opposes the new moon and squares Saturn, Pluto and the south node in Capricorn.  Pallas Athena may be a warrior, but she also possesses reason, balance, and searches for the truth while having the capacity to see the big picture.

As someone who has her own natal cardinal T-square, I can tell you from personal experience that a T-square will push you to get moving.  I swear that it more than compensates for the lack of fire in my chart.  The fact that this T-square is the predominant energy of this new moon indicates that if we are not feeling like we are owning our power, we could encounter some obstacles and people trying to control us.  The new moon squaring Pluto in Capricorn is bound to trigger some power issues and with Pluto conjunct that south node in Capricorn these may very well be quite karmic and long-standing.  It really is time to release old patterns of fear, cynicism and pessimism as well as the need to control which prevents us from fully experiencing our emotions.  We may be forced to relive the past in order to create a more stable and secure future, which is what the north node in Cancer is asking us to do.  Saturn’s role in this new moon alludes to the potential for transition in governments, economy and authority figures.  We could be experiencing conflicts between fear vs. trust, pessimism vs. optimism, and materialism vs. compassion.  I wouldn’t be surprised if abuses of authority are revealed as a result of this new moon.

A new moon in Aries wants new beginnings NOW and consequently we may feel quite frustrated and impatient if things aren’t happening on our timetable.  But the most productive use of all this initiating cardinal energy is to integrate it, not fight it.  Use the Saturn in Capricorn energy to focus more and work slowly and methodically to attain our goals.  Control and transformation are strong themes of this new moon and the bottom line is that transformation can’t be rushed. Anyone who has planets in 20-23 degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will undoubtedly dealing with issues of control and transformation now. A great deal of what is happening astrologically in 2019 is preparing us for the big event of 2020: the Saturn/Pluto conjunction in 22 degrees of Capricorn on January 12, 2020. 

Jupiter will be stationing retrograde in 24 degrees of Sagittarius on April 10, 2019 through August 11, 2019, when it stations direct in 14 degrees of Sagittarius.  Jupiter retrograde is nothing like Mercury or Mars retrograde, so please be aware that there is no cause for alarm here.  Jupiter retrograde is a time of spiritual introspection and reflection involving issues of growth, happiness and success.  It is an opportunity to take stock and make sure everything is right before engaging in any expansion.  The worst that can happen during Jupiter retrograde is that travel plans can go awry.  But it is a great time for dieting, because Jupiter’s expansive principle is not operating on full capacity. There are also some other astrological perks involved in this Jupiter Retrograde.  Jupiter is currently featured in an out of sign trine with Uranus in 1 degree of Taurus, which could bring some lucky breaks out of the blue.  And on April 10, 2019, when Jupiter stations retrograde, Venus and Neptune will be conjunct in 17 degrees of Pisces.  How sweet is that energy for creativity?

Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn will be stationing retrograde on April 24^th and April 29^th respectively, and believe me, these will be much more challenging transits than Jupiter retrograde.  Jupiter retrograde favors meditation and reflection.  If we do this work during the next four months, we will be primed to act on launching our endeavors when Jupiter stations direct this summer.  Use this time wisely and learn from it because Sagittarius is after all, about learning and education.
