Mercury, Mars and Jupiter Stir the Pot in the Week Between Eclipses

 

Well, we are in that awkward week between eclipses.  We had a Solar Eclipse in Leo on August 12 and the next one will be a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on August 28. In the meantime, Mercury in Leo, Mars in Cancer and Jupiter are playing.  Mercury recently entered Leo on August 9 and Mars entered Cancer on August 11.

On August 15, Mercury and Jupiter are conjunct in 10 degrees of Leo.  This is a real feel-good aspect that can bring good news, optimism, generosity and expansive thinking.  We are definitely seeing the big picture.  Communication could have a dramatic flair and be somewhat exaggerated.  Just be mindful not to promise more than you can deliver and it should be a highly enjoyable day.

Mars in Cancer starts acting up on August 16 when it is inconjunct Pluto in 3 degrees of Aquarius.  This can make us act compulsively as our need for power and control has the potential to undermine .us.  It also has a strong theme of power struggles.  Mars and Pluto are heavy hitters and they are definitely not comfortable when they are 150 degrees apart.  Try not to manipulate people on this day.  Hidden feelings are getting churned up, and it might be best to reflect on them before acting as inconjuncts tend to require some adjustments.  Don't ignore emotional upsets though because you could experience headaches, muscle tightness or digestive issues.  Another possible manifestation is the tendency to drift away from social connections that don't feel right.

We have a mixed bag astrologically speaking on August 17. Mars in Cancer is squaring Neptune in 4 degrees of Aries.  This creates tension between drive to act and a fog of illusion by playing out in confusion, deception, lies and lack of faith.  Our energy levels could be lowered too.  It's much easier to feel overwhelmed by stress with Mars squaring Neptune.  And try not to make any major decisions now because our judgment is somewhat foggy now. There is also a tendency to play the martyr or savior role.  But Mars squaring Neptune can spur our creativity, so run with it if you feel so inspired.

Venus in Libra is forming a supportive sextile to Jupiter in 10 degrees of Leo on the 17th.  It's always fun when the two benefic planets get together.  This highlights themes of growth, good fortune, and socializing.  If you are single, get out there and mingle because you could meet someone new when the planets associated with love and luck hang out.  Travel (associated with Jupiter) is also possible, so don't rule out a short trip. It could be quite enjoyable and a welcome break. Charm and social ease are flowing freely on this day.  Just be mindful not to overindulge because there literally can be too much of a good thing.  Sextiles are considered to be positive aspects because they bring opportunities but you need to act on them to reap the benefits they present. Otherwise, if you snooze, you lose with sextiles.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
