The games have begun with this eclipse season. We had our first one last week, a Solar Eclipse in Scorpio on October 25 when I tweeted:
As I mentioned previously, I was a bit concerned about this one because it conjuncted my natal Neptune and Mercury. On October 28 I developed a sore throat and took a COVID test on the 29th. It was negative, but I started coughing and feeling worse the next day, so I took another COVID test on October 31. This one was positive and it is was not the kind of news I wanted to hear. I had COVID back in April 2020 and have been ultra-diligent about wearing a mask when I go out, so I have no idea how I got it. I was up to date on my vaccinations and boosters, too. But Mars is retrograde in Gemini and is squaring Neptune, which is currently in my 6th house. And Saturn in Aquarius has been squaring my Sun in Scorpio, which has literally made me feel like I am being pummeled. I immediately called my doctor's office to see if I could obtain a prescription for Paxlovid. I started taking it on Monday night in addition to another pill for my cough. I am hoping it does the trick because I certainly don't fancy the thought of another six-week siege with COVID.
The next eclipse (they come in pairs, you know) occurs on November 8, 2022 in 16 degrees of Taurus. This one has all of the earmarks to be even more of a game changer than the Solar Eclipse in Scorpio. It is conjunct Uranus in 16 degrees of Taurus and the North Node in 13 degrees of Taurus. A Lunar Eclipse conjunct Uranus is bound to bring massive changes and upheavals. It is a North Node Eclipse which has a theme of endings that create space for our future collective destiny. It is rife with the issues of crisis, potential catharsis and major shifts. It is a literal breakdown of the old order for permanent changes.
There is a tremendous energy of fixed energy involved in this eclipse to boot. The Sun and Mercury are conjunct in Scorpio and Mercury is opposing Uranus in Taurus, which can deliver shocking news and shine a light on some major secrets. It's a bit disconcerting that the United States is having its midterm election on this day. Don't forget that Venus is also in Scorpio and opposes Uranus in Taurus on November 5, which can be very tough on relationships, bringing power struggles and this vibe is prime for breakups. The South Node is in Scorpio, what we need to release, and on November 2, Venus was conjunct the South Node, which could have brought some kind of loss. On November 5, the Sun in Scorpio will be conjunct the South Node, which could bring news about more people transitioning who have made a major difference in our lives. And on November 6, Mercury in Scorpio conjuncts the South Node, further reinforcing the theme of change and transformation. If it sounds like I am beating a dead horse with this release theme, I am just telling it like it is. The planets aren't lying.
Adding to this fixed energy is Saturn in 18 degrees of Aquarius which is still in orb of squaring Uranus in 16 degrees of Taurus. This can bring earthquakes, but many of us will experience it as frustration and breakdowns. It is the past versus the future and control versus freedom. I suppose the most constructive way to interpret it is to view it as the breakdown to breakthrough. I read somewhere that we should be able to take responsibility for our own freedom and I kind of like that theory.
This has been an emotionally intense week and I suspect it will continue for the rest of Scorpio season. So don't be surprised if you find yourself crying a lot these days; it's a big part of the emotional release. The themes of this Lunar Eclipse will involve the Scorpio Sun's issues of power, debts and secrets and the Taurus Moon's issues of security, safety and money. All of these things can change in the blink of an eye. I think that we all need to be ready to accept that whatever happens this month will permanently alter our lives. Something will end and I would also encourage you to think back to the Solar Eclipse on April 30 in 10 degrees of Taurus. What was happening in your life back then? Did you start something new which is either seeing fruition or are you deciding to cut your losses and walk away if it hasn't been working out?
I can't completely ignore the fact that retrograde Mars in 25 degrees of Gemini is squaring Neptune in 22 degrees of Pisces, which can create a build-up of energy that isn't going to go anywhere yet. It is draining our sense of clarity. This is a mutable mash that can find us being mentally scattered and it too is a player in this Lunar Eclipse.
This Lunar Eclipse in Taurus is opposing my Sun in Scorpio and squaring my Mars in Aquarius. In terms of endings, I certainly hope that my latest bout with COVID will be a sense of closure as a result of this eclipse. My COVID isn't as debilitating as the first time, but it has certainly been physically and emotionally draining.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client. I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. I urge everyone to engage in massive amounts of self-care and follow the protective measures of washing your hands frequently, maintaining social distancing, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, wearing a face mask when necessary and staying home if you are sick. And get a vaccine. If you are eligible for a booster shot, get it. I repeat, you do not want to get this virus!
