A Last Blast of Capricorn Energy Before Aquarius Season Starts

 

We are in the final stretches of both the Sun and Pluto in the sign of Capricorn because they are both entering Aquarius on January 20.  Our world will be changing even more rapidly when both of these planets move into the future-oriented sign of Aquarius. But there is plenty of Capricorn action going down in the meantime.  We had a New Moon in 20 degrees of Capricorn on January 11, when I posted:

On January 12, 2024, Mars in Capricorn is exactly trining Jupiter in 5 degrees of Taurus. This is a delightful aspect coming on the heels of a New Moon because it increases our desire to win and be successful.  Lucky Jupiter can be bringing us opportunities and we should definitely take action to increase our wealth and improve relationships.  

Mercury re-enters Capricorn (where it stationed retrograde on December 13, 2023) on January 13, 2024.  Ironically, it will clear its retrograde shadow on January 20 when it hits 8 degrees of Capricorn.  When Mercury is in Capricorn, communication is very decisive, focused, practical and methodical. We want to be very efficient and realism rules.  The shadow side of Mercury in Capricorn is coming across in an authoritarian tone or being too rigid in our thinking. Just be mindful of these potential pitfalls. Mercury will remain in Capricorn until February 5, 2024.

The Sun in Capricorn is forming a supportive sextile to Neptune in 25 degrees of Pisces on January 15, 2024.  This will heighten our sensitivity, intuition and creativity.  It also gives us more empathy and a desire to serve others.  This is optimal energy for visualizing and dreaming of a better future.

Mercury in Capricorn will be sextiling Saturn in 5 degrees of Pisces on January 18, 2024.  This is yet another aspect that can be delivering opportunities our way.  Thinking is clearer now, as is common sense and good judgment.  It is also favorable for contracts, so by all means, feel free to engage in some negotiations.

I just want to emphasize that Mars, the Sun and Mercury in Capricorn are making some pretty sweet aspects in the coming week and that we should take full advantage of them. Strike while the iron is hot, so to speak.  The Sun will be departing Capricorn on January 20 with Pluto, Mercury zips into Aquarius on February 5, and Mars moves into Aquarius on February 13.  We need to tap into that can-do, focused vibe of Capricorn before it is gone.  This is a time to get those New Year's Resolutions set and launched. The pace will definitely be picking up once we are in Aquarius season--more on that in next week's post.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. I also wanted to note that in an ironic twist of fate, one of the latest variants of COVID is EG.5, with a nickname of Eris.  Sound familiar--the Goddess of Discord?  Apparently, COVID cases and hospitalizations are on the rise...

I urge everyone to engage in massive amounts of self-care and follow the protective measures of washing your hands frequently, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, wearing a face mask when necessary and staying home if you are sick. And get a vaccine. The newest vaccine is available and I encourage you to get it to protect yourself. I repeat, you do not want to get this virus! I speak from personal experience and consider myself very fortunate to have survived Coronavirus twice. Stay safe and healthy, everyone!

A Relatively Peaceful and Quiet Week with Saturn in Aquarius Receiving Some Beneficial Aspects

 

Rarely do I say this, but we actually have a fairly quiet week ahead astrologically.  The month of November started out particularly intense on the heels of a Solar Eclipse in Scorpio on October 25 and we had more drama with the Lunar Eclipse in Taurus on November 8.  This year's Scorpio season lived up to its hype accompanied by a square from Mars in Gemini to Neptune in Pisces on November 19, but on November 16 Mercury entered Sagittarius, Venus followed suit on November 17 and on November 22, the Sun entered Sagittarius.  And on November 23, we had a New Moon in Sagittarius with Jupiter also stationing direct in Pisces.  We are no longer dealing with a plethora of planets in water signs and the energy from the recent eclipses is finally clearing.  Okay, we still have the South Node of the Moon in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces, but Jupiter is moving forward in Pisces (where it is really happy, by the way), on course to enter the fire sign of Aries on December 20. It's quite a change when the energy shifts from the fixed water sign of Scorpio to the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius.  I loved what astrologer Kathy Rose said about it as going from the darkness to the light.  Just because Jupiter is direct and we have more planets in fire signs doesn't mean that everything is suddenly going to turn out perfect, but we now have hope for the future.

On November 28, Mars in Gemini will be trining Saturn in 19 degrees of Aquarius. This is one instance where Mars and Saturn hanging out is a good thing.  Mars trining Saturn is a time to follow your passions because we have the energy, strength, ambition and perseverance to get things done.  It can be a time of smooth sailing in terms of achieving your goals, so make the most of this day.  Trust me on this one because I have Mars in Aquarius squaring Saturn in Scorpio and this is not the most harmonious combination.

Mercury in Sagittarius will be forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in 19 degrees of  Aquarius on November 29.  This aspect favors discipline, organizational skills, a clear mind and good judgment.  We are on a roll.  Just be mindful of the fact that Mercury is also opposing Mars in Gemini on the same day and don't get caught up shooting yourself in the foot with impulsive retorts.

Venus in Sagittarius will be sextiling Saturn in 19 degrees of Aquarius on December 1.  On this day we will feel relationships more seriously and deeply.  But Venus in Sagittarius is also opposing retrograde Mars in 18 degrees of Gemini on the same day and this could well be the most disruptive aspect of the week.  Venus opposing Mars will ramp up the sexual tension and desire nature.  If there are any unresolved issues in relationships, tempers could flare.  This aspect also has the potential to bring financial losses if we have not been prudent with our funds. But this will definitely add some fuel to the love fires.
