Change on the Horizon as Uranus in Gemini Squares the Moon's Nodes, Venus Enters Leo and a New Moon in Gemini

 

The pace is once again picking up after a brief lull and a delightful conjunction between Venus and Jupiter on June 9. Uranus in Gemini is forming an exact square to the North Node of the Moon in 2 degrees of Pisces and the South Node in 2 degrees of Virgo on June 12. Uranus is all about revolution, the quest for freedom and sudden upheavals.

How will this square from Uranus to the Nodes of the Moon play out?  It signals a time to break free of the past and embrace the future. We are truly at a crossroads, so events could occur quite suddenly that rock our world.  It's literally a breakthrough before a breakdown.  Crises are common and we will probably need to adjust our plans in order to survive.  Uranus in Gemini squaring the South Node in Virgo will challenge old habits and patterns, while its square to the North Node is asking us to tap into our creativity and spirituality. Remember that the South Node of  the Moon represents our past and the path of least resistance while the North Node represents what our soul is trying to achieve by stretching out of our comfort zone.

When Uranus is squaring the Nodes of the Moon, karma is calling with themes of revolution and change.  Uranus is not a quiet planet.  Our intuition could be much stronger now and we need to heed it.  When a planet squares the Nodes, it is described as a skipped step because there is unresolved developmental material from the past that needs to be addressed.   An event can occur that forces us to confront our issues head on by creating major disruption of our situation. The bottom line is that it is futile to resist change at this time.  While this aspect is exact on June 12, we have been feeling its effects already and it will continue throughout the month.

Venus moves into the fixed fire sign of Leo on June 13 and remains there until July 9.  Love is about to get bigger and more dramatic as pride and passion take center stage.  We will be prone to generosity and grand gestures.  We are also craving attention and have a strong need to be admired.  It is a real feel good, fun-loving time that also spurs creativity.

There is a slight blip with Venus in Leo that happens on June 17 when Venus in Leo opposes Pluto in 5 degrees of Aquarius. This aspect has the potential to create power struggles, manipulation and jealousy to erupt.  It could be a bumpy ride...

On June 14 we have New Moon in 24 degrees of Gemini. Gemini is the sign associated with curiosity and information.  We could be facing an overwhelming amount of information on this day which could have us reeling with confusion, wondering what is real. Deception and confusion are possible, especially since Mercury entered its retrograde shadow on June 12. Mercury officially goes retrograde on June 29, the day of a Full Moon in Capricorn. But a New Moon in Gemini also offers us the opportunity to experience a mental awakening.  This is a relatively quiet New Moon in terms of aspects but it is very supportive for growth, learning and releasing old mental patterns.

Mercury in Cancer, the ruling planet of Gemini, is forming a supportive sextile to Mars in Taurus on the New Moon.  This can provide us with more motivation and clarity coupled with a strong desire to act on what we are learning.  Mercury is also squaring Saturn in Aries (this aspect was on June 10) which can actually help us to be more responsible and commit to what matters. The Moon in Gemini is also sextiling Saturn in Aries in the early morning of the 14th, bringing us more stability and a sense of security in our personal lives.  It's easier to be organized and persistent.  So set those intentions on this New Moon in Gemini.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Virgo Season is Upon Us as the Sun Enters Virgo and the First of Two New Moons in Virgo

 

We are up for some big changes in the upcoming week.  The Sun moves into the mutable earth sign of Virgo on August 22 and we have the first of two New Moons in Virgo on August 23.  The second one will occur on September 21 in the form of a Solar Eclipse.  And Venus will enter Leo on August 25.

When the Sun enters Virgo, we tend to be more grounded, practical and responsible.  It's much easier to focus on details and find solutions to problems.  Virgo is also associated with health, so it's a perfect time to start a healthier diet or fitness regime.  We can get organized and improve communication on the job.  We are literally aiming for perfection when the Sun is in Virgo, but the shadow side of the Sun in Virgo is being too critical or judgmental.

Venus in Cancer is squaring Chiron in 26 degrees of Aries on August 22 as well.  This can trigger past relationship wounds.  We might be feeling insecure or unappreciated in relationships.  Try to accept your vulnerability (I know, that's a tough one and I am the first one to admit that I don't do vulnerable well) and practice some self-compassion in order to heal those wounds.  This can be a stressful day.

On August 23, we have the first of two New Moons in Virgo.  This one is in 0 degrees of Virgo.  I know that we always hear about 29 degrees being a critical degree (which the second New Moon, a Solar Eclipse, will be in on September 21), but 0 is also a critical degree because it represents the purest energy of whatever sign it falls in.  A New Moon in Virgo has strong themes pertaining to daily routines, health and service to others.

This New Moon is extremely complicated and has the potential to be quite volatile.  It squares Uranus in 1 degree of Gemini, which can bring sudden disruptions, power outages, the potential for cyberattacks, seismic activity and shocking truths revealed around health issues.  And this New Moon is involved in a Yod with Saturn and Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius.  The Sun and Moon are inconjunct Saturn and Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius while squaring Uranus in Gemini.  Inconjuncts are all about adjustments being required, and this one has a theme of karmic adjustments.  A Yod is also called the Finger of God and can feel very fated.  Both Saturn in 0 degrees of Aries and Neptune in 1 degree of Aries are sextiling Pluto in 1 degree of Aquarius while being inconjunct the Sun and Moon in 0 degrees of Virgo.  Yods are powerful influences that can bring unexpected events that ultimately bring about restructuring.  This is especially true with Saturn being a part of that Yod.  We will need to remember to let go of old illusions (this is where Neptune comes in) to initiate a major refresh.  And we will get a chance to reexamine whatever seeds we plant or decisions we make on September 21 when we have that second New Moon in 29 degrees of Virgo, a Solar Eclipse to boot.

If you are old enough to remember 2006, we also had a New Moon in 0 degrees of Virgo on August 23.  The North Node was also in Pisces back then.  I remember that day all too well because my brother died on that day, only eight days after my mother died.  I am hoping for less loss this year but am trying to prepare myself for the likelihood of a disruptive time.

Venus leaves Cancer on August 25 and moves into Leo until September 19.  This can serve as a breather after the intensity of the New Moon in Virgo.  It is a real feel-good transit that has us feeling more creative, warm-hearted, dramatic, and glamorous.  It's time to let our inner child out to play.  We want to shine and enjoy the finer things in life.  It can be a delightful time, but just be mindful that the shadow side of Venus in Leo is a tendency to be self-centered, spend too much money or throw temper tantrums.

A New Moon in Cancer and Venus Enters Leo

 

The first New Moon of summer is upon us.  On July 5, we have a New Moon in 14 degrees of Cancer that promises to be extremely emotional, as only a water Moon can be.  And we have had Saturn and Neptune station retrograde in Pisces in the past week, adding to the water works. Saturn stationed retrograde in 19 degrees of Pisces on June 29, inspiring me to post:

What are the themes of a New Moon in Cancer?  Hopefully we can set some intentions to nurture and support our loved ones while also engaging in some massive self-care.  Although there are no exact aspects to the New Moon in Cancer, we do have Mars in Taurus forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in 19 degrees of Pisces.  This is a very positive aspect that will give us the energy, endurance and determination to succeed at whatever we undertake.  It's a perfect complement to a New Moon because it encourages us to plot a course of action in an efficient manner.  And patience is easier to come by, which I think that all of us could use in these challenging times.  Our powers of persuasion are ramped up a notch to boot.

On July 6, Venus in Cancer will be squaring Chiron in 23 degrees of Aries.  This aspect occurs at 2:33 a.m., so I am including it as the New Moon in Cancer will be colored by it.  It can bring discomfort, complications and resurrect deep pain or loss in order to instigate some major healing.  

There is more water energy at play on July 10 when the Sun in 19 degrees of Cancer trines Saturn in 19 degrees of Pisces.  I am particularly invested in this aspect because my Midheaven is in 19 degrees of Cancer and it triggers a Grand Water Trine with my Sun in 19 degrees of Scorpio.  This aspect is associated with responsibility, patience, persistence and determination.  There is no escaping Saturn's influence these days, that's for sure.  It's possible to get some recognition now for our hard work, though.  It is extremely favorable for initiating constructive changes to the structures of our lives. Mental discipline and concentration are very strong now.

Venus leaves Cancer and moves into Leo on July 11 until August 4.  Venus in Leo is characterized by big romance, drama and gestures of generosity and flamboyance.  This is definitely not a shrinking violet Venus.  There is a strong ego investment in our love life, as well as a of luxury. We want to be adored now. The urge to spend is rife, so watch those credit cards.  But Venus in Leo is also creative, warm-hearted and joyful energy.  Just be mindful that the shadow side of Venus in Leo is a tendency towards excessiveness, arrogance and attention-seeking behavior.

A Grand Water Trine, Full Moon in Sagittarius and Venus Enters Leo

 

It's a whole new month and June is promising lots of action already.  On June 2, we have a beautiful Grand Water trine involving Venus in Cancer, Neptune in Pisces and the Moon in Scorpio.  A Grand Water trine facilitates a smooth flow of emotions and has a strong emphasis on emotional healing.  The fact that it includes the Moon in Scorpio reinforces that theme even more. It also amps up the passion and intensity level.  There is more compassion, romance, daydreaming and relaxation in the mix.  We can find it easier to express more tenderness in love.  Notice where 27 degrees of these water signs falls in your chart.  For me, Venus in Cancer is conjunct my Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in my 10th house  and trines my Venus and Ceres in Scorpio in my 2nd house, while the Scorpio Moon is conjunct my Venus and Ceres while trining my Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer.  And sweet Neptune in Pisces is in my 6th house trining my Scorpio and Cancer planets.

The pace picks up on June 3 when we have a Full Moon in 13 degrees of Sagittarius.  A Full Moon in Sagittarius is associated with optimism, adventure, truth and honesty.  And since Full Moons have a way of shining a light on secrets, there very well could be some big reveals heard in the news at this time.  We can't forget that the South Node of the Moon is currently in the sign of Scorpio, which is renowned for its affinity for secrets and being extremely private.  The Full Moon in Sagittarius is trining Mars in Leo, which provides a jolt of courage to face and transform our fears.  It can make us quite fearless in our pursuit of the truth and attaining our long-term goals.  It can also pose a challenge to our higher principles. The Full Moon in Sagittarius is also inconjunct Jupiter in Taurus, which is the ruling planet of Sagittarius.  This aspect can manifest in our being overly enthusiastic and over-the-top, so we might need to make some adjustments in our expectations.  Finally, the Full Moon in Sagittarius is squaring Saturn in Pisces, which can make us feel somewhat restricted and depressed.  Full Moons are also associated with closure and completion, which can play out as unhealthy relationships ending.  I am by no means predicting a lot of break-ups, but I think that if a relationship does end at this time it is for the best.

Mercury and Uranus will be conjunct in 20 degrees of Taurus on June 4, which is also heavily influencing the theme of surprising news on the Full Moon.  Mercury cleared its retrograde shadow on May 31, so it is moving ahead at full speed now.  When Mercury and Uranus are conjunct, we are more open to progressive ideas and our intuition is heightened.  Insights could be flowing freely, so pay attention.

On June 5, Venus enters Leo for an extended stay until October 8, 2023.  Guess what- Venus will be stationing retrograde in 28 degrees of Leo on July 22.  It will station direct in 12 degrees of Leo on September 3.  Venus is retrograde every 18 months and the last time it was retrograde in Leo was back in August and September of 2015. It started its retrograde in 0 degrees of Virgo in July 2015. It might help us to think back of what was going on in our lives back then, because we might be dealing with similar issues.

But what can we expect when Venus is in Leo?  Well, we can expect passion, drama and a tendency to crave big romance.  Flamboyance, generosity and love of luxury items are also trademarks of Venus in Leo.  Watch your credit cards during this transit.  The shadow side of Venus in Leo is a tendency towards arrogance, excessive pride and needing to be the center of attention.

Venus in Leo opposes Pluto in Aquarius on June 5, and this can add pressure to relationships by emphasizing power imbalances.  Jealousy, obsession and compulsive attractions are characteristic of this particular mix.  Both Venus and Pluto are in fixed signs, so there are bound to be clashes involving strong-willed individuals.  This is just to give you a heads up.  I have a natal Venus-Pluto square in fixed signs, so I am all too aware of how these two planets can act out...

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. A Super Full Moon in Aquarius and Venus Enters Leo

We are all still feeling the effects of the Uranus/Mars/North Node conjunctions in Taurus that took place on July 31 and August 1.  The bottom line is that this volatile and unpredictable energy will continue through August 14.  Anyone with planets in the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius is feeling this vibe the most intensely.  Fixed signs are resistant to change unless they are initiating it and let's face it, these days we are not in control of the changes that are happening.  The only thing we can control is our attitude towards these events. On August 11, we have two more planetary events occurring in fixed signs: another Super Full Moon, when the Moon is closer to the Earth making it appear larger than normal, in 19 degrees of Aquarius, and Venus enters the fixed fire sign of Leo.

But we have a couple of other important astrological aspects occurring on August 7 that help to set the stage for the events of August 11.  The first is Venus in Cancer forming an exact trine with Neptune in 25 degrees of Pisces.  This is actually quite positive and will be quite favorable for compassion, creativity and inspiring forgiveness.  We need all of the positive aspects we can get during these challenging times, so make the most of it.  But going back to that fixed planet energy, we also have Mars in Taurus squaring Saturn in 22 degrees of Aquarius.  I have a natal Mars/Saturn involving Mars in Aquarius and Saturn in Scorpio, so I am not exactly the biggest fan of this aspect.  My experience of it has been more of frustration over wanting to take action but being held back.  It can also feel somewhat isolating and/or depressing at times.  But I honestly believe that this is one time when Mars squaring Saturn can be a good thing.  How so?  Well, it can actually be used constructively to set some boundaries.  We all know that we need to move forward and make some changes, but Mars in Taurus is not exactly impulsive and spontaneous; that description pertains more to Mars in its own sign of Aries.  Mars in Taurus is a planner and plods along slowly to make changes that have a solid foundation.  But Saturn in Aquarius is able to come up with ingenious ways of solving problems and let's face it, Saturn is all about creating structures and boundaries.  Saturn is also retrograde, so it's a perfect time to go within and come up with ideas about the boundaries we need to create to empower the changes we need to make.  We all need to remember that while change is unavoidable, with all of this emphasis on fixed signs, it has to happen more slowly because we are building new foundations for our future.  So let's see if we can harness the energy of this aspect constructively.

The Full Moon in 19 degrees of Aquarius will be triggering the recent Uranus/Mars/North Node conjunction in Taurus.  This Full Moon can bring us some breakthroughs from the recent Mars/Uranus strife, but since Uranus rules the sign of Aquarius, I wouldn't be surprised if there are some incidents involving power outages, hacking, and Internet slowdowns because the Moon is squaring Uranus in 18 degrees of Taurus.  The Full Moon is also squaring Mars in 25 degrees of Taurus, which can bring more conflicts.  It is also conjunct Saturn in 22 degrees of Aquarius, which could involve some feelings of depression, but it can also be positive for building networks and creating a sense of community, which are all Aquarian themes.

On the Full Moon, we have six planets in signs: the Sun and Venus in Leo, Moon and Saturn in Aquarius and Mars and Uranus in Taurus.  With all of this fixed energy, there is a strong likelihood of control issues coming up. Let us not forget that the Nodes of the Moon are in Taurus (North Node) and Scorpio (South Node) are also in fixed signs.  But the perk of all this fixed energy is that we will have more determination, focus and tenacity.  Mars in 25 degrees of  Taurus is also trining Pluto in 26 degrees of Capricorn, which can give us laser focus to empower us.  Full Moons also have a theme of completion, so it might be helpful for us to review what we began on the New Moon in 12 degrees of  Aquarius on February 1.  Has it reached a stage of culmination or is it time to end whatever we began because it has outlived its usefulness or served its purpose?

As I have stated previously, the fixed signs will be bearing the brunt of this Full Moon.  It is squaring my Sun and Venus in Scorpio and conjunct my Mars in Aquarius, so I know exactly what kind of wild card energy I am dealing with. Just a heads up to anyone with planets in 18-25 degrees of Taurus, Leo. Scorpio and Aquarius...  And I would definitely factor in an Ascendant, Node of the Moon and Midheaven in the fixed signs to this mix.

Venus enters Leo about seven hours before the Full Moon and is in the fixed fire sign until September 5.  When Venus is in Leo, romance becomes more dramatic with big gestures and lots of pride and passion.  We are craving admiration and attention.  We could be extremely generous with our loved ones and experience an urge to splurge because we are into luxury now, so watch those credit cards.  But we are also more creative, warm-hearted and tend to wear our hearts on our sleeves.  It can be a very enjoyable transit, so have some fun with it.
