If
you thought last week was too slow, brace yourself because there is a whole lot
of astrological action coming up in this next week. We did have a delightful Sun-Venus conjunction
in Capricorn though on January 8 when I tweeted:
Mercury
stations retrograde in 10 degrees of Aquarius on January 14 and stations direct
in 24 degrees of Capricorn on February 3.
Mercury remains in Capricorn until February 14, 2022. Mercury retrograde brings its own assortment
of travel and communication related snafus to the table amidst a world-wide
pandemic to boot. So we definitely have to worry about confusing information
being disseminated about the virus during this time.
On
January 17, we have a Full Moon in 27 degrees of Cancer. There are strong themes of power and
transformation associated with it because it opposes Pluto in 26 degrees of
Capricorn. The Sun in Capricorn is exactly
conjunct Pluto in 26 degrees of Capricorn on January 16, which is sure to bring
some power struggles and clashes with authority. On February 20, 2022 the United States will
be experiencing the first hit of its Pluto Return in 27 degrees of
Capricorn. It’s no secret that the
United States is going through massive changes and challenges to its
structure. The Full Moon is in its own
sign of Cancer which further amplifies the emotional intensity. I wouldn’t rule out some angry outbursts with
the Full Moon also forming an irritating inconjunct with Mars in 24 degrees of
Sagittarius. This aspect demands some
kind of adjustment or compromise to be made in order to maintain a peaceful co-existence
in this world. I am personally quite concerned about this Full Moon because it
is exactly conjunct my natal retrograde Uranus in Cancer and also conjunct my natal
Jupiter in 29 degrees of Cancer. My
Jupiter and Uranus are in my 10th house, so I sense that this will
play out in a very public way with my work and home life. This Full Moon also opposes my natal Chiron
in Capricorn and squares my natal Neptune in Libra in my 1st house.
On
January 18, Uranus stations direct in 10 degrees of Taurus. Uranus has been napping since August 15, 2021
so we can expect that radical changes will manifest quite swiftly. A lot of the internal strife will start to
play out as our inner awakenings start to take on outer forms. And we all know that when a planet is
stationary it only increases the strength of the planet’s nature. Uranus is known as the Great Awakener, so we
can expect some massive changes to happen.
Uranus also loves to create disruptions, so hang tight…
The
True Nodes of the Moon are changing signs on January 18 as well. For the past 18 months the North Node has
been in Gemini and the South Node in Sagittarius. The North Node represents our collective
destiny and our soul’s path and it will move into Taurus while the South Node
will move into Scorpio. The South Node
of the Moon represents our karma and baggage that we need to release and integrate
with the North Node in order to move forward.
The North Node in Taurus calls for us to embrace a more steady and
grounded quality in life while we crave stability and structure. We will need to make peace with what has
happened with the knowledge that we can’t go back to the way things were. It’s a time to be more deliberate and evaluate
our self-worth. A North Node in Taurus
is also a perfect setting for focusing on the earth and paying attention to
climate change. The South Node in
Scorpio is asking us to release the past and our grudges. Taurus and Scorpio are fixed signs which don’t
embrace change easily, but they have enormous reserves of power and strength to
tap into. Yes, the signs of Taurus and
Scorpio are in the hot seat and will feel the effects of this nodal transit
until July 2023, but the fixed signs of Leo and Aquarius will have their
challenges too.
All
of the eclipses in 2022 will be in Taurus and Scorpio. The first one is the Solar Eclipse in 10
degrees of Taurus on April 30 but we got a preview of this back on November 19,
2021 with the Lunar Eclipse in 27 degrees of Taurus. Like it or not, we have some major changes
coming and the sooner that all of us can accept that fact, the easier it will
be to navigate the future.
On
January 19, the Sun moves into the fixed air sign of Aquarius. This is a marked change from the cardinal
earth sign of Capricorn. When the Sun is
in Aquarius, we are focused on attaining knowledge, new experiences and
originality. We want to be unique and
innovative as we seek freedom. It’s also
a time to let your inner freak flag fly. Aquarius is ruled by the planet Uranus
and Uranus is now direct, so we can be confident in implementing those changes
we want to see in the coming year.

The coronavirus
outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do
because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided
to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to
practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my
Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a
distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune
system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from
the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client
about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the
session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy
and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my
perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now
offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each
other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki
treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client. I use a teddy
bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. If

I urge everyone to
engage in massive amounts of self-care and follow the protective measures of
washing your hands frequently, maintaining social distancing, avoid touching
your eyes, nose and mouth, wearing a face mask when necessary and staying home
if you are sick. And get a vaccine. If you are eligible for a booster
shot, get it. The Omicron strain of the virus is spreading like wildfire these
