The Sun Enters Sagittarius and Saturn Goes Direct in Pisces

 

It has been one hell of a Mercury retrograde encompassing the signs of Sagittarius since November 9 and Scorpio as of November 18 and it's not over until November 29.  But the supercharged intensity of the Sun in Scorpio is coming to a close at 8:36 p.m. on November 21.  I am a Scorpio, but every year I am quite grateful when the Sun enters Sagittarius because there is only so much passion and intensity that a human being can tolerate.

How will it change when the Sun moves into the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius?  Our focus will shift to connecting with something bigger than ourselves as we desire to expand our horizons, see the big picture and find freedom.  We also tend to have more optimism and faith as we seek knowledge.  When the Sun was in Scorpio, we were laser focused on the darker side of life and confronting our shadows.  Yes, the Sun in Scorpio held the promise of transformation, but rebirth is not always pretty or easy.  So the Sun in Sagittarius represents a much lighter vibe which I am sure everyone will welcome after the turbulence of this month.

The Scorpio energy is not totally gone with Mercury and Venus still in Scorpio still there, but it will be a kinder and gentler vibe in the coming week with a Grand Water Trine.  On November 22, Mercury in Scorpio will be trining Saturn in 25 degrees of Pisces, which will make us more serious and careful in our attention to detail.  It is quite favorable for making long-term plans.  Mercury in Scorpio is also trining Jupiter in 24 degrees of Cancer on that day, delivering more optimism, good news and good luck.  Feel free to socialize on this day and enjoy it.

On November 24, Mercury and Venus are conjunct in Scorpio.  Communication should be more harmonious as it will be easier to express love and appreciation.  We might even receive a gift or money from someone on this day.

Venus in Scorpio is trining Jupiter in Cancer (I have this aspect natally in these signs in my chart and it is pretty sweet) on November 26, which symbolizes more love, good cheer and optimism.  It is a really nice dating aspect as well as being favorable for socializing, shopping and financial affairs. Venus in Scorpio is also trining Saturn in Pisces on that day too, which makes it an ideal time to commit to a relationship or long-term investments. Venus trining Saturn has a stabilizing influence on relationships and finances.

Saturn stations direct in 25 degrees of Pisces on November 27 after having been retrograde since July 12, when it stationed retrograde in 1 degree of Aries.  When Saturn goes direct, we can start to make some progress and delays will lift.  It is a cosmic green light because Saturn is the planet associated with structures, rules, limitations, lessons and karma. We might be dealing with more responsibilities now, but our past efforts will bring rewards. Saturn moving forward in Pisces can bring us divine inspiration, help us create structures out of creativity and facilitate creating boundaries in our relationships.  It still has a lot of unfinished business in these areas of life until it enters Aries on February 13, 2026 until April 2028.  Saturn is not that patient in the sign of Aries, but it will have us reassessing our identity, personal power and independence.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Retrograde Mercury Dips Back into Scorpio and a Potent New Moon in Scorpio

 

We are really deeply entrenched in the midst of Scorpio season in addition to Mercury and Jupiter going retrograde during the past week.  I don't know about you, but I really experienced a kick on the 12th when Mars and Mercury were conjunct in Sagittarius.  The truth was quite literally all over the place.

On November 17, the Sun in Scorpio is exactly trining Jupiter in 25 degrees of Cancer.  This is a fantastic aspect that brings growth, prosperity, good luck and opportunities for success. It is a well-deserved cosmic break.  Even if you do encounter obstacles, it helps you overcome them.  This is truly a heavenly gift, so make the most of this day.  The important thing to remember with Jupiter aspects is that if you snooze you lose, so take advantage of whatever favor circumstances cross your path.  We also have the Sun in Scorpio trining Saturn in 25 degrees of Pisces on that day, continuing the theme of a Grand Water Trine.  With Saturn in the mix, we get the perk of being rewarded for our hard work in terms of creating structures.

Mercury has been retrograde in Sagittarius since November 9 and it has been a pretty wild ride so far.  It gets even stranger on November 18 when Mercury dips back into Scorpio.  Mercury will station direct in 20 degrees of Scorpio on November 29 and remains in Scorpio until December 11.  What can we expect with Mercury retrograde in Scorpio?  Fasten your seat belts, there will be more emotional upheaval and introspection in store. There will be more probing and our minds will be laser-focused.  Scorpio is the sign associated with secrets, so we can also anticipate that some big secrets can be revealed.

On November 20, we have a New Moon in 28 degrees of Scorpio.  This one is conjunct retrograde Mercury in Scorpio and opposing Uranus in 29 degrees of Taurus.  It could very well feel like a Full Moon, mark my words.  The Uranus factor indicated the potential for Internet scams on the New Moon, as well as cyberattacks.  Uranus back in Taurus can also trigger financial volatility, especially with that Sun-Mercury-Moon opposition to Uranus.  A New Moon is prime time to set some new intentions for whatever house 28 degrees of Scorpio falls in.  It lands in my 2nd house conjunct my natal Venus in Scorpio.

This is an extremely watery and emotionally intense New Moon.  In addition to the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus in Scorpio, we have Saturn and Neptune in Pisces plus Jupiter in Cancer. Don't be surprised if you feel emotionally overwhelmed on this New Moon; you wouldn't be human if you didn't with all of this water energy.  But be mindful that some important truths could come to light that will actually set us free on this New Moon.  Medical and criminal issues can be in the headlines.  We should have the courage to dig deep to get to the truth because Mars in Sagittarius (at 11 degrees on the New Moon) will supply us with a drive for the truth.

Mercury and Mars Hook Up in Scorpio, A New Moon in Libra, Neptune Dips Back into Pisces and the Sun Enters Scorpio

 

The last full week of October is going out with a bang, pretty much the way it started with that Full Moon in Aries.  On October 20, Mercury and Mars will be conjunct in 20 degrees of Scorpio.  This can quite literally indicate a breaking point, both mentally and emotionally.  We can feel driven to dig deep and investigate with both of these planets in the fixed water sign of Scorpio.  A crisis can occur and we could see aggression on a verbal or emotional level. Powerful communication is likely and I wouldn't be surprised if words were used as weapons. I have my natal Mercury in Scorpio and I have frequently quipped that my mouth could be registered as a lethal weapon. Subconscious truths can be revealed.  This aspect will be quite personal for me because it is conjunct my natal Sun in Scorpio in my 2nd house.

We have a New Moon in 28 degrees of Libra on October 21 that promises to pack quite a punch.  The theme of a New Moon in Libra is to set intentions to create more harmony, but the Sun and Moon in Libra are forming an out of sign square to Pluto in 1 degree of Aquarius, which could indicate some power struggles.  Of course, the most positive use of this energy is power to the people, but it seems that like is a work in progress.  

There is actually a Cardinal Grand Cross on the New Moon because it squares Jupiter in 24 degrees of Cancer and opposes Chiron in 24 degrees of Aries.  Aries is very rebellious energy while Jupiter in Cancer is all about self-care and nurturing others.  This Cardinal Grand Cross has strong themes of motivation to make changes, but there can be unbalanced power and lack of equality.  Chiron in Aries opposing the New Moon can trigger old emotional wounds for healing so that we can move forward.  And the New Moon squaring Jupiter in Cancer can bring on a tendency towards self-indulgence.

What else is going on astrologically with the New Moon in Libra?  We also have a Grand Water Trine involving Mars and Mercury in Scorpio trining Jupiter in 24 degrees of Cancer and Saturn in 26 degrees of Pisces.  A Grand Water Trine emphasizes emotions, so expect to have a big case of the feels on this day.. There is the potential for angry words, but try to remember that we are building for the future and use that emotional energy to stay focused.  

This New Moon in Libra will be very personal for me as it conjuncts my Neptune in Libra and Mercury in 0 degrees of Scorpio in my 1st house.  The Grand Water Trine also trines my Venus in Scorpio and Uranus in Cancer.

The action continues on October 22 with two planets moving into water signs.  Neptune moves from Aries, where it has been since March 30, back into Pisces at 5:48 a.m. Neptune will remain in the anaretic or critical degree of 29 in Pisces until January 26, 2026 when it moves back into Aries until May 2038.  Clearly we have some unfinished business to attend to and this transit will be felt the strongest by anyone having planets or points in the late degrees of the mutable signs of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius. This last pass of Neptune in Aries will be a crucial turning point regarding the areas of spirituality, confusion and escapism.  We might be dissolving illusions and obtaining a deeper understanding of the truth as we let go of the past to heal and prepare for a new beginning that Neptune in Aries symbolizes.  On a more mundane level, this last hit of Neptune in Pisces could bring more floods and storms.

The Sun enters the fixed water sign of Scorpio at 11:51 p.m. on October 22. The focus is now on transformation and getting to the bottom of things.  There is nothing superficial or light-hearted about the Sun transiting Scorpio because it literally is an all-or-nothing sign with no halfway measures.  It is a seismic change from the Sun in Libra.  Determination, perseverance and loyalty are earmarks of Scorpio, as is emotional depth and intensity.  Just be mindful that the shadow side of Scorpio is about jealousy and vindictiveness.  I am a Scorpio, so trust me, I know that all of these things are true.  A Scorpio can be your most loyal friend, but it you cross them, they can be your worst enemy.  This is the kind of energy we will be dealing with for the next few weeks...

A Strong Theme of Relationships Prevails with a Solar Eclipse in Libra

We are edging into the last eclipse of this season and I know that many of you are feeling it already.  We already had the Lunar Eclipse in 25 degrees of Virgo on September 17 and we are facing a Solar Eclipse in 10 degrees of Libra on October 2.

Before we experience the Solar Eclipse, we actually have a couple of delightful aspects coming our way.  On September 30, Mars in Cancer is trining Saturn in 14 degrees of Pisces.  It is such a relief to see these two planets getting along. I have a natal Mars-Saturn square, and I know firsthand how contentious and frustrating it can be.  It can feel like you just can't make any progress when Mars and Saturn are in challenging aspects, like a square, opposition or inconjunct. This aspect will give us strength, ambition and perseverance to tackle those difficult tasks we are facing and succeed. This is truly a day when patience and self-discipline will pay off.  

The Sun and Mercury are conjunct in 7 degrees of Libra on September 30 too.  This aspect blesses us with mental alertness, quick thinking and adaptability.  We are in the mood to share ideas, meet new people and schedule appointments.  It's definitely a good idea to put your thinking cap on and expect positive results.

The Sun and Moon are conjunct in 10 degrees of Libra at 2:49 p.m. on October 2 for the Solar Eclipse.  It is a South Node eclipse, which means that we are moving away from the past.  For some people, relationships could be ending or we could find ourselves needing to release a situation so that we can enter a new phase in our lives.  This Solar Eclipse in Libra will focus on big changes in relationships and developing more of a sense of balance in existing relationships.  The sign of Libra is also associated with the law (the scales of balance), so it's possible that important legal cases could be in the news.  While we had a Solar Eclipse in Libra last year in 21 degrees on October 14, we actually had one in exactly 10 degrees of Libra on October 3, 2005.  I encourage anyone old enough to remember whatever issues you were facing back then and see if any of them come up again this time.

The planet Venus rules Libra and Venus in 11 degrees of Scorpio will be forming a grand water trine with Mars in 15 degrees of Cancer and Saturn in 14 degrees of Pisces.  This only reinforces the importance of relationships during this eclipse.  Venus and Mars are associated with love and desire, while Saturn pertains to structures and boundaries.  So there is no way that relationships are not going to be affected by this eclipse. A grand water trine can be very beneficial, but prepare yourself for a big day of the feels as emotions are heightened.

I can tell you that anyone who has planets or points (like Ascendant, IC, Midheaven or Nodes of the Moon) between 5-15 degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will definitely be feeling the effects of this Solar Eclipse on their relationships.  This Solar Eclipse falls in my 12th house but has a wide conjunction to my Libra Ascendant and squares my North Node in Capricorn and South Node in Cancer.  So I know that this eclipse will have a profound effect on my future as it guides me to release the past and move forward on my soul's destiny, which is what the North Node represents.  It probably won't be easy, but that is the nature of life.

What else is happening astrologically on the day of the Solar Eclipse?  The Solar Eclipse will be inconjunct Saturn in 14 degrees of Pisces, which will require some adjustments in relationships.  It can also make us feel a little more reserved and aware if our needs are not being met.  Saturn in 14 degrees of Pisces is forming a semi-square to Pluto in 29 degrees of Capricorn, which will provide a major reality check. This is actually the first major aspect between Saturn and Pluto since that conjunction in January 2020 that kicked off the pandemic.  I wouldn't be surprised if some restrictions were announced.  This aspect will remain in effect until January 2025.

Mars in 15 degrees of Cancer will be forming a quindecile (165 degrees apart) aspect with Pluto in 29 degrees on October 2.  Yes, Pluto in Capricorn is definitely getting some hits on this eclipse.  With Mars aspecting Pluto on an eclipse, there will be determination galore, but there can also be an obsessive and compulsive quality to the mix.

Mercury in 11 degrees of Libra is also forming a quindecile to Uranus in 26 degrees of Taurus. which could generate some new and unconventional ideas.  Don't rule out some mental breakthroughs involving technology on this Solar Eclipse.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. A Grand Water Trine, Full Moon in Sagittarius and Venus Enters Leo

 

It's a whole new month and June is promising lots of action already.  On June 2, we have a beautiful Grand Water trine involving Venus in Cancer, Neptune in Pisces and the Moon in Scorpio.  A Grand Water trine facilitates a smooth flow of emotions and has a strong emphasis on emotional healing.  The fact that it includes the Moon in Scorpio reinforces that theme even more. It also amps up the passion and intensity level.  There is more compassion, romance, daydreaming and relaxation in the mix.  We can find it easier to express more tenderness in love.  Notice where 27 degrees of these water signs falls in your chart.  For me, Venus in Cancer is conjunct my Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in my 10th house  and trines my Venus and Ceres in Scorpio in my 2nd house, while the Scorpio Moon is conjunct my Venus and Ceres while trining my Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer.  And sweet Neptune in Pisces is in my 6th house trining my Scorpio and Cancer planets.

The pace picks up on June 3 when we have a Full Moon in 13 degrees of Sagittarius.  A Full Moon in Sagittarius is associated with optimism, adventure, truth and honesty.  And since Full Moons have a way of shining a light on secrets, there very well could be some big reveals heard in the news at this time.  We can't forget that the South Node of the Moon is currently in the sign of Scorpio, which is renowned for its affinity for secrets and being extremely private.  The Full Moon in Sagittarius is trining Mars in Leo, which provides a jolt of courage to face and transform our fears.  It can make us quite fearless in our pursuit of the truth and attaining our long-term goals.  It can also pose a challenge to our higher principles. The Full Moon in Sagittarius is also inconjunct Jupiter in Taurus, which is the ruling planet of Sagittarius.  This aspect can manifest in our being overly enthusiastic and over-the-top, so we might need to make some adjustments in our expectations.  Finally, the Full Moon in Sagittarius is squaring Saturn in Pisces, which can make us feel somewhat restricted and depressed.  Full Moons are also associated with closure and completion, which can play out as unhealthy relationships ending.  I am by no means predicting a lot of break-ups, but I think that if a relationship does end at this time it is for the best.

Mercury and Uranus will be conjunct in 20 degrees of Taurus on June 4, which is also heavily influencing the theme of surprising news on the Full Moon.  Mercury cleared its retrograde shadow on May 31, so it is moving ahead at full speed now.  When Mercury and Uranus are conjunct, we are more open to progressive ideas and our intuition is heightened.  Insights could be flowing freely, so pay attention.

On June 5, Venus enters Leo for an extended stay until October 8, 2023.  Guess what- Venus will be stationing retrograde in 28 degrees of Leo on July 22.  It will station direct in 12 degrees of Leo on September 3.  Venus is retrograde every 18 months and the last time it was retrograde in Leo was back in August and September of 2015. It started its retrograde in 0 degrees of Virgo in July 2015. It might help us to think back of what was going on in our lives back then, because we might be dealing with similar issues.

But what can we expect when Venus is in Leo?  Well, we can expect passion, drama and a tendency to crave big romance.  Flamboyance, generosity and love of luxury items are also trademarks of Venus in Leo.  Watch your credit cards during this transit.  The shadow side of Venus in Leo is a tendency towards arrogance, excessive pride and needing to be the center of attention.

Venus in Leo opposes Pluto in Aquarius on June 5, and this can add pressure to relationships by emphasizing power imbalances.  Jealousy, obsession and compulsive attractions are characteristic of this particular mix.  Both Venus and Pluto are in fixed signs, so there are bound to be clashes involving strong-willed individuals.  This is just to give you a heads up.  I have a natal Venus-Pluto square in fixed signs, so I am all too aware of how these two planets can act out...

An Intense Venus Pluto Conjunction in Capricorn Gets Some Relief from Mars in Scorpio Trining Neptune in Pisces

Friday the 13^th in the last month of 2019 features a powerhouse of astrological activity.  For starters, Venus and Pluto are conjunct in 21 degrees of Capricorn and Saturn is not far behind in 19 degrees of Capricorn.  This is a pretty dynamic combination.  As someone who has a natal Venus Pluto aspect (a square, to be precise), I can tell you that this is not a lightweight aspect for relationships.  It tends to bring out jealousy and all of those lovely little possessive, obsessive and compulsive traits.  It’s not exactly smooth sailing for relationships.  The fact that this aspect falls on a Friday the 13^th lends a more ominous quality to the mix for those who are superstitious.  And with Saturn tagging along, getting ready for its own hookup with Pluto on January 12, 2020, the relationship vibe will be downright heavy and serious.

But there is some relief in sight. We also have Mars in 15 degrees of Scorpio trining Neptune in 15 degrees of Pisces on December 13, 2020. This is a delightful aspect that encourages us to act out our nurturing urges and provides a sense of idealism that helps us to move forward.   It has a theme of encouraging us to act on making our dreams come true.  It is pretty potent because Mars is so strong in Scorpio, a sign that it rules. Mars in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces are also involved in a Grand Water Trine with the Cancer moon that helps bring out the best in us emotionally.  The potential for increased sensitivity, compassion and forgiveness is running high and we should make the most of it.

There is more good news coming our way astrologically. On December 15, 2019, Jupiter in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus are exactly trining each other in two degrees of their respective signs. When Jupiter and Uranus are in favorable aspect to each other, they encourage us to try something new because we feel lucky and want to implement positive change.  The fact that they are in earth signs makes this a no-brainer for taking some constructive action in our lives.  This aspect will play a major role of alleviating any tension caused by the pileup of Saturn, Venus and Pluto in Capricorn. Of course, it also depends on which houses Jupiter and Uranus are transiting in your chart.  For me, Jupiter is transiting my 3^rd house and Uranus is transiting my 7^th house.

We may hit a bit of a snag on December 19, 2019 when Mercury in 15 degrees of Sagittarius squares Neptune in 15 degrees of Pisces.  Mercury entered Sagittarius on December 9, 2019, inspiring me to tweet:

Mercury squaring Neptune can bring some confusion and deception to communications.  But we do have a lovely grounding sextile from Mars in 19 degrees of Scorpio to Saturn in 19 degrees of Capricorn which should help offset any confusion or brain fog that the Mercury Neptune square causes.  Mars sextiling Saturn is literally a green light to make good things happen.
