Mars in Aries Gets Very Busy as It Aspects Neptune and Pluto While Mercury Joins the Aries Party

 

The pile up of planets in Aries is in full force this month.  On April 13, Mars and Neptune will be conjunct in 2 degrees of Aries.  This can play out in a number of ways: it can make us feel more romantic, idealistic, inspired to take action on a dream, or it can make it more difficult to get a firm grasp of reality so that you just want to escape.  It can also make us more sensitive and prone to infections. Be careful when partying because it's extremely easy to overdo.  Listen to your body.  This aspect falls in my 6th house, so I will be alert to what my body is telling me.  It can also be an excellent time to engage in meditation, yoga, Reiki or energy work.  Try to schedule some kind of self-care activity.

Venus in Taurus is forming a supportive sextile to Jupiter in 16 degrees of Cancer on the same day, which is a real feel-good transit.  Socializing and love are favored.  These are the two benefic planets, after all, so when they get together, it's bound to be a good time.  If you are single, you could meet someone now.  Just be mindful not to overindulge with sweets or addictive substances.

Communication become much more direct on April 14 when Mercury enters Aries.  Mercury has been in Pisces since February 6 due to the recent Mercury retrograde.  Mercury will speed through Aries only staying in the cardinal fire sign until May 2.  Our thinking and communication is more independent, straightforward, impulsive, assertive and possibly blunt.

We want to make decisions quickly.  The fog that enveloped our minds when Mercury was in Pisces is long gone.  We are voicing our opinions with bold courage now.

Mercury will be conjunct Neptune in 2 degrees of Aries on April 16, which can blend assertive thought with intuition.  We can have some spiritual and creative breakthroughs on this day.  Just be mindful that the shadow side of this aspect is a tendency towards confusion, deception and paranoia.  I have this aspect natally and I can attest to the fact that it is a mixed bag. I love that it heightens my intuition but it can cause confusion at times and create a tendency to overidealize others, especially with it falling in my 1st house.

Mars in Aries is forming a supportive sextile to Pluto in 5 degrees of Aquarius on the same day.  This will manifest as high energy, willpower and courage.  It's very goal-directed energy with lots of intensity.  It's a perfect day to tackle major projects that could have seemed daunting in the past.

I just want to make one point very clear: all of the planets are direct until May 6 when Pluto stations retrograde at 5 degrees of Aquarius, so we really should feel free to act.  And I really don't think it is a coincidence that Mars moved into Aries on April 9, the same day that Mercury cleared its retrograde shadow in 22 degrees of Pisces.  The fog has lifted and the force is with us.  We also have a New Moon in Aries on April 17, which should be very interesting.  More on that in next week's post...

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Taurus Season is in Bloom with a Potentially Fertile New Moon in Taurus

 

Taurus season is about to get a lot more busy.  We still have the Sun, Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus and Venus entered Taurus on April 29.  On that day I posted:

And we have a Super New Moon in 18 degrees of Taurus coming up on May 7.  But before that, on May 3, we have Mars in Aries sextiling Pluto in 2 degrees of Aquarius.  Pluto just stationed retrograde on May 2.  How is Mars in Aries (its home sign, where it is strong, by the way) sextiling Pluto in Aquarius going to play out? Mars in Aries will provide us with the courage and energy to get rid of what isn't working in our lives so that we can move forward and transform.  Mars in Aries will also add a sense of urgency to the matter and set the stage for the New Moon in Taurus.

The New Moon in Taurus features five planets in Taurus: the Sun, Moon, Venus, Jupiter and Uranus.  New Moons are a perfect time to set new intentions and plant the seeds for a fresh start.  The themes associated with Taurus include safety, security, stability and values.  It is a very sensual sign to boot because it is ruled by Venus.  The New Moon in 18 degrees of Taurus will also activate the recent Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in 21 degrees of Taurus that occurred on April 20.  If you didn't experience any sudden changes or expansion on that day, rest assured that this New Moon will reactivate that energy. The Jupiter-Uranus conjunction kicked off a whole new cycle which will be in play for some time.  So the promise of freedom and growth in our lives is alive and well.  This New Moon is inviting us to plant the seeds for our intentions to take root and manifest.

The New Moon in 18 degrees of Taurus is making some promising aspects.  It is trining Ceres in 21 degrees of Capricorn.  Ceres is the dwarf planet associated with nurturing, motherhood, fertility and agriculture.  With both the Sun and Moon in an extremely favorable aspect to Ceres, we have an opportunity to make some real progress in these areas of life.  If you are trying to conceive or develop alternative food sources, this is a cosmic green light.

Saturn in 17 degrees of Pisces is also featured prominently in the astrological landscape of this New Moon.  The New Moon in 18 degrees of Taurus is forming a supportive sextile to Saturn, which bodes well for creating stable foundations in our lives.  I always appreciate it when Saturn is cooperating with lunar phases and the planets in general.

Mercury in Aries is conjunct Chiron in 21 degrees of Aries on the New Moon too. The aspect is exact on May 6, but we will still be feeling its influence on the New Moon. This represents an opportunity to dig deep into our wounds and listen to our feelings so that we can identify where we self-sabotage.  A conjunction in Aries gives us the courage to be vulnerable and heal those wounds.

I have no doubt that May will be a very active month astrologically that reinforces the theme of endings and beginnings but I also sense that there is more hope and less trauma involved than the months of March and April.

On a personal level, this New Moon is opposing my Sun in Scorpio in my 2nd house and my progressed Sun enters the sign of Aquarius on May 3.  I am quite relieved that it is finally leaving Capricorn, no offense to any of my Capricorn readers.  I am just looking forward to being able to embrace the freedom and originality of my personality.  It is very liberating to leave Saturn's influence behind and welcome Uranus into the next chapter of my life.

The Sun, Mars and Pluto in Action Mode and the Sun Enters Sagittarius

 

Well, we are coming off one of the most intense New Moons of the year that occurred on November 13 in 20 degrees of Scorpio.  On that day I posted:

The #NewMoon in Scorpio is today and it can feel like an eclipse with both the Sun and Moon in Scorpio opposing Uranus in Taurus. We can expect some upheavals so hang in there… #astrology

Uranus in Taurus certainly had its shot at wreaking havoc on that day, but on November 18, the Sun and Mars will be conjunct in 25 degrees of Scorpio.  This is bound to be a day of increased energy, motivation and assertiveness.  On the plus side, this will give us more inner strength, passion and fearlessness as well as enhancing our creativity.  But it can also make us more impatient and prone to temper tantrums.  Anger can easily get the best of us if we are not careful. This is not a day for sissies, to be sure. It is definitely a volatile vibe and can cause damage if we are not mindful.  It can also be a very accident-prone aspect, so watch where you are going, especially when driving.  If you have any planets in the fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo, or Scorpio between 20-25 degrees I guarantee that you will feel this energy.  It can be a wild ride on this day. This aspect is conjunct my Venus in 24 degrees of Scorpio in my 2nd house, so I am trying to be prepared for whatever might come...

The Sun in Scorpio is forming a supportive sextile to Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn on November 20.  It is a big deal because Pluto rules the sign of Scorpio, amplifying its intensity. This aspect will increase our need to succeed as we are more determined than ever to achieve our goals.  Power is a major theme of this aspect.  Obsession and compulsion can actually be used constructively to increase our influence and attractiveness.  With this aspect in play, the stakes are high and so are the chances of success.  The shadow side of this aspect is utilizing this aspect to control others, but let's not go there, okay?

The Sun has interacted with Mars and Pluto already, so by November 21, Mars in Scorpio has its own duet with Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn via a supportive sextile.  Remember that sextiles create opportunities.  Mars sextiling Pluto will bring boatloads of energy to achieve those lofty goals of ours and oodles of passionate desire.  We will have plenty of endurance and physical stamina.  This is yet another day to take the lead and run with it.  And it goes without saying not to attempt to run roughshod over others on this day.

We get a cosmic break on November 22 when the Sun departs the fixed water sign of Scorpio and enters the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius.  I am a true-blue Scorpio, but even I say this every year, all of the intensity that Scorpio entails can be too much to sustain for very long.  When the Sun is in Sagittarius, we want to have fun and adventure.  It is time to push beyond  our boundaries.  Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, so expansion is possible, as is luck and more optimism.  It's time to think big and learn something new.  Traveling is another theme associated with Sagittarius.  Just be mindful of a tendency to exaggerate or blow off some steam with your temper.  Fortunately, Sagittarius is a fire sign and gets over its anger quickly, unlike Scorpio, who can hold grudges for long periods of time.  I speak from experience on that score.

And it is always nice when the Sun is in Sagittarius on Thanksgiving Day in the United States.  This year we also have a Moon in Aries trining Mercury in Sagittarius on November 23 and this should make for some lively conversations around the dinner table.  Happy Thanksgiving to all of my readers in the United States!

Prepare for Some Action as the Sun Moves into Gemini and Mars Enters Aries

 

Get ready for some action, folks because the planets are once again on the move.  We are still in the midst of Mercury retrograde and we have just come out of an especially intense Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio on May 16, when I tweeted:

Today is the #LunarEclipse in Scorpio that forces us to embrace change and release what is no longer serving our best interests. It’s easier if we don’t resist but complicated with the fixed energy of the Taurus Sun and Scorpio Moon. #astrology

The Sun is leaving the fixed earth sign of Taurus on May 20 and entering the mutable air sign of Gemini.  Relief is in sight as we are motivated to become more communicative, knowledgeable and  versatile (hello multi-tasking). We are opening up to new ideas and mental activities.  Quite literally, having the Sun in Gemini is a breath of fresh air.  Having a finger in every pot and being able to go with the flow is the new normal.  When the Sun is in a mutable sign, we find it easier to embrace change and new perspectives. Just remember that the shadow side of the Sun in Gemini is a tendency to be a bit scattered and we will be fine.

As I mentioned Mercury is still retrograde until June 3, but it back pedals into Taurus on May 22 and it will station direct in 26 degrees of Taurus on June 3.  Mercury will leave Taurus on June 13.  Until then, we should use this time to focus on practical matters by reviewing them with a sense of purpose.  Go over the fine details because there might be something that we missed when Mercury was previously galloping through Taurus in April 2022.  We can be more focused with Mercury in Taurus, but be mindful not to be too stubborn or rigid. It's no coincidence that the symbol for Taurus is a Bull...

We have another astrological event occurring on May 22 which is highly significant.  Mars in Pisces is forming a supportive sextile to Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn. This is a real go-getter aspect as it bestows us with the energy to achieve our goals as well as the courage to tackle projects that we once might have deemed too much to handle.  It gives us more perseverance and can even amplify our physical and sexual energy.  This is a high-octane day, so make the most of it.  

On May 24, Mars departs Pisces and enters its home sign of Aries until July 5.  Mars is a very happy camper in Aries and is feeling at ease. Mars in Aries can bring us some optimism and a sense of power. Its energy is spontaneous, forward-looking and more courageous.  Don't forget that Mars is the planet that drives us to pursue our passions and it is a warrior.  So if you have been feeling stuck or drowning in your emotions, Mars in the cardinal fire sign of Aries will get you moving pronto.  But just keep in mind that Mars in Aries is also impatient, impulsive and can be self-centered.  Tempers could flare, but the storms will probably blow over quickly.  The main thing to remember with Mars in Aries is that we will feel compelled to move forward and making progress is a good thing.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
