A Full Moon in Taurus That Has a Trickster Quality and Mercury Stations Direct

The month of October started with a Full Moon in 9 degrees of Aries and it will end on October 31 with a Full Moon in 8 degrees of Taurus.  This means that on Halloween we have a Blue Moon, which simply means that we had two Full Moons in one month.  And that is bound to increase the emotional intensity.

Full Moons are inherently extremely emotional times that contain strong themes of closure and completion while revealing hidden facts.  A Full Moon in Taurus is associated with agriculture, money and sensuality.  It has a strong focus on relationships and with this Full Moon, we might find ourselves needing to release and let go of behavioral patterns that no longer serve our best interests.

The major issue with this Full Moon is that it is conjunct retrograde Uranus in 8 degrees of Taurus.  Talk about Trick or Treat!  This aspect alone is bound to be a game changer because emotional shocks, upheavals and disruptions are par for the course.  This is very eruptive energy and we will probably see more demands for freedom and rebellions.  Shocking events and news are also possible with this Full Moon.  The fact that this Full Moon is in Taurus could also deliver more earthquakes, volcanoes and extreme weather patterns. Since it is a Full Moon, it goes without saying that if the Moon is conjunct Uranus, the Sun in Scorpio is opposing Uranus.  We only experience one Sun-Uranus conjunction a year (thank God!) and this brings volatility and unexpected events to the fore.  Nervous energy will prevail, so don’t expect people to be acting rationally.

The Full Moon in 8 degrees of Taurus is also widely inconjunct Venus in 4 degrees of Libra.  This contributes to the relationship drama because it will increase the need for love and affection while simultaneously increasing the tension.  It highlights the imbalance of emotional support and love.  Something’s gotta give to restore the balance; inconjuncts always require some measure of adjustment to get the two planets involved to coexist peacefully.  I also find it quite ironic that both Taurus and Libra are ruled by Libra and Venus just recently entered Libra on the 27th of October, when I tweeted:

The bottom line with this Full Moon is that the fixed signs of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius will feel it the most.  Fixed signs are the most resistant to change and a Full Moon conjunct Uranus screams change.  Taurus and Scorpio will face changes in relationships that come suddenly and need to be accepted.  Leo and Aquarius will be facing changes in the areas of home life and career.  All of the fixed signs will be craving the need for stability in these areas of life.

I am a big fan of Penny Thornton’s astrology videos on YouTube.  I watched her latest one on the Full Moon in Taurus and was blown away by her insight.  She commented on how when the Moon in Taurus conjuncted Uranus in Taurus on the 23rd of April  President Trump issued a press conference extolling the virtues of bleach and how the upcoming warm weather would wipe out the virus.  Obviously none of this was true, but the fact that the Full Moon on October 31 features a conjunction to Uranus again underscores the fact that the Coronavirus will be a major issue in the Presidential election on November 3.  She also pointed out that President Trump contracted the virus during the previous Full Moon on the 1st of October.  Food for thought in terms of closure, completion and revelation, n’est pas?

Now on to Mercury stationing direct on the 3rd of November.  I don’t know about any of you, but it has been a particularly grueling Mercury Retrograde for me personally.  Mercury stationed retrograde in 11 degrees of Scorpio on the 13th of October and it was one degree away from my Saturn in 12 degrees of Scorpio at the end of my 1st house.  Ouch!  I have experienced mega-delays and frustrations with the Internet and my website not accepting payments for readings.  When Mercury stations direct in 25 degrees of Libra on the 3rd, it will be one degree away from my Neptune in 26 degrees of Libra in my 1st house conjunct my Libra ascendant. It’s not particularly easy having both Saturn and Neptune in the 1st house but I suppose I should be grateful that Saturn in my 1st house has somewhat of a grounding influence, despite the fact that it doesn’t exactly make me a free spirit. Yes, this Mercury Retrograde has had a huge impact on me and I will heave a huge sigh of relief when it is over and it clears its retrograde shadow on the 19th of November.

Perhaps I just need to enter new Buy Now buttons, but I think I will just wait until Mercury is direct before I attempt that.  In the meantime, please feel free to send payments through PayPal to my email at lindasim54@gmail.com.  It looks like I am living proof of Mercury Retrograde opposing Uranus and the technological havoc it can wreak.

In many ways it is rather chilling and ironic that Mercury is stationing direct on the day of the United States Presidential Election.  It’s common knowledge that a planet’s power is intensified whenever it stations direct or retrograde.  Who could forget the chaos that ensued in the 2000 Presidential Election when Mercury stationed retrograde in 29 degrees of Libra?  I think it is fair to surmise that we can expect technical difficulties with the Internet and the voting process for this election.  Mercury may be stationing direct instead of retrograde, but there is still a very strong likelihood of delayed results and social unrest.

When Mercury stations direct in Libra, it will be squaring the triumvirate of planets in Capricorn.  Mercury squaring Pluto can play out in extreme or brutal tactics.  Mercury squaring Saturn will create a somber atmosphere, rigid and pessimistic thinking and communications as well as increasing the potential for a hold-up in determining the results. And don’t forget that Mercury in Libra will also be squaring Jupiter in Capricorn, which can manifest in errors of judgment and legal difficulties.

I realize that it was probably quite insane of me to launch a new feature on my website during Mercury Retrograde, but in all fairness, it was something that I started work on back in early September.  On the 28th of October, I added a Monthly Horoscopes section to my website.  I think that November will be a pivotal month for 2020 and I wanted to share my insights with as many people as possible.  On that day I tweeted:

I have also recently joined Facebook.  I don’t post as frequently as on Twitter, but I am on Facebook now at https://www.facebook.com/linda.simons.75098

The coronavirus outbreak is causing me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people are concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I recently learned that I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. When it becomes clearer that the virus no longer poses a threat, I will find a new space to practice. In the meantime, a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. If this appeals to you, please feel free to contact me by email at lindasim54@gmail.com or call me at 617-304-2205. The cost for distance Reiki sessions is based on a sliding scale of $30 -$50. For your convenience, I accept Venmo for payment.  I have also written an article about distance Reiki, which is available at:

Venus and Mercury Move into Libra

Venus and Mercury will be entering the sign of Libra on October 27, 2020 within eight minutes of each other. Mercury is first and since it is currently retrograde (how could we forget?) it will be moving from Scorpio into Libra.  Venus is direct and will be moving from Virgo into Libra, where it is in its happy place, since Libra is one of the two signs (Taurus being the other) that Venus rules.

But before either of these personal planets left their respective signs they managed to deliver some potent aspects.  On October 19, 2020, Mercury in 10 degrees of Scorpio opposed Uranus in 10 degrees of Taurus.  It was definitely my bad that I neglected to mention this on Twitter. I experienced the full force of this aspect on the 19th when a client emailed me that she couldn’t order a reading from my site.  I tried too and wound up unable to get through to PayPal and Blogger.com has not responded to my inquiries.  So I have revised my Services Offered to reflect this problem and request that clients send their payment to my email via PayPal.  My PayPal account is working just fine.  I also tweeted on that day:

Perhaps I just need to enter new Buy Now buttons, but I think I will just wait until Mercury is direct before I attempt that.  In the meantime, please feel free to send payments through PayPal to my email at lindasim54@gmail.com.  It looks like I am living proof of Mercury Retrograde opposing Uranus and the technological havoc it can wreak.

Mercury will not remain in Libra for very long; it will re-enter the sign of Scorpio on November 10, 2020 and stay in Scorpio until December 1, 2020.  Mercury was previously in the sign of Libra from September 5, 2020 through September 27, 2020.  When Mercury is in the sign of Libra, people tend to be more diplomatic and friendly and we have a more rational approach to relationships.  It’s a time when we find it easier to consider other points of view as we seek justice and fairness.  We should probably reflect on what was going on in our lives during that last week of September before Mercury stations direct in 25 degrees of Libra on November 3, 2020.  This could be a time when we are able to balance the scales of justice and fairness.

Before Venus departs the sign of Virgo for greener pastures in Libra, it trines Saturn in 25 degrees of Capricorn on October 24, 2020.  This will be a stabilizing influence and is extremely favorable for commitments and long-term investments.

Venus will be in Libra until November 21, 2020.  When Venus is transiting the sign of Libra, we are more likely to be charming and kind as opposed to being aggressive.  We also tend to be more idealistic about love as we seek balance in our relationships.  Venus in Libra is a very favorable influence for personal and balance partnerships, art, beauty and justice.  As a matter of fact, beauty and comfort are paramount to us during this transit and the arts can provide a soothing balm for us. But the flip side is that we could also wind up spending too much money on luxury items, which we will crave more than usual.

Venus in Libra has a shadow side that we need to be mindful of.  We may become inclined to dependency (to the point of codependency in our quest to please others) and we are also inclined to be inconsistent, indecisive and superficial. But Venus in Libra has a softer and gentler side that we need to appreciate.

A Super New Moon in Libra and the Sun Enters Scorpio

We have a Super New Moon in 23 degrees of Libra today that is really generating lots of tension with its hits to the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.  It’s called a super new moon because it is so close to the earth.  Traditionally, a new moon in Libra is a time associated with the themes of love, peace and seeking balance and harmony, but 2020 has not exactly been a traditional year. Some people may find themselves restoring a sense of balance through arguments and mediation with attorneys.

Why is this new moon generating so much tension?  Chalk it up to the cardinal T-square.  This new moon in 23 degrees of Libra is squaring the triumvirate of planets in Capricorn: Jupiter in 19 degrees, Pluto in 22 degrees and Saturn in 25 degrees and opposing retrograde Mars in 20 degrees of Aries.  The moon squaring Jupiter may pose some difficulties in uniting our sensitive feelings and emotions with our impulse to expand and manifest our dreams, which could slow down our motivation.  The new moon squaring Pluto will undoubtedly increase our need to be in control, so don’t be surprised if ego conflicts with authority figures arise.  The moon squaring Pluto could also expose our deeply buried fears pertaining to death, persecution and loss of control.  A new moon in Libra squaring Saturn in Capricorn has themes of testing our character and providing challenges, delays, restrictions and extra responsibilities.  We need to face our challenges head on or things will only get worse.  The hit to Saturn can also bring feelings of depression and pessimism, but try to remember that this is only temporary.

The new moon in 23 degrees of Libra opposes retrograde Mars in 20 degrees of Aries and this might make it feel more like a full moon.  It will trigger feelings of irritability, hostility, jealousy, aggression, impulsiveness and sexual tension.  The most constructive way of dealing with this energy is to be open and honest about dealing with our strong desires and have a physical outlet to release tension: either exercise or sex with a trusted partner.  We are also dealing with Mars in Aries squaring Pluto in Capricorn, which will intensify the themes of needing to be in control, power struggles and aggressive reactions to situations that are seemingly out of our control.

As I mentioned earlier, the cardinal signs are bearing the brunt of this new moon in Libra. But it goes without saying that we should all be setting new intentions and planting the seeds on this new moon because they will come up for reassessment when we have a full moon in Libra on March 28, 2021. Aries will see this new moon in their 7th house of relationships and this could provide the impetus for positive changes.  Cancer will have this new moon in their 10th house of career and public standing, which could not only affect their careers but their marital status. Capricorn will have a new moon in their 4th house of home and family, which could play out as a physical move to another home, home renovations or even a new family member.  There might even be more harmony on the home front.  And Libra will have the opportunity to embark on a whole new cycle and address personal issues, their image and the chance to do something different to further their ambitions.

I may be a Scorpio, but I have a cardinal T-square in my chart that will be heavily activated by this new moon in Libra.  It conjuncts my Juno and Neptune in Libra in my 1st house, squares my Chiron in Capricorn in my 4th house and squares my midheaven, Uranus and Jupiter in my 10th house.

Speaking of Scorpio, the sun enters Scorpio on October 22, 2020.  It is joining Mercury, which stationed retrograde in 11 degrees of Scorpio on October 13th, when I tweeted:

When the sun is in Scorpio, intensity rules and there is an all or nothing vibe. We have a strong drive to uncover the truth and engage in some deep research and investigation.  It is time for some serious soul searching.  The sun in Scorpio can also be a very healing and transformative period.

But there is also a shadow side to Scorpio: a tendency towards jealousy, vindictiveness and manipulation.  The best way to deal with the sun in Scorpio is to rise above your limitations and restrictions so that you literally become the phoenix rising from the ashes.  Pardon the pun.

An Action Packed and Exciting Week with Mars Square Pluto, Venus Trine Uranus and Mercury Stationing Retrograde in Scorpio

The month of October is continuing to be very active astrologically, due in no small part to retrograde Mars in Aries squaring Pluto in Capricorn on October 9, 2020 and Mercury in Scorpio which is preparing to station retrograde on October 13, 2020.  Sandwiched in between these events, we get a couple of breaks with Venus in Virgo trining Uranus in Taurus on October 10th and Jupiter in Capricorn sextiling Neptune in Pisces on October 12th.

Retrograde Mars in Aries is exactly squaring Pluto in 22 degrees of Capricorn on October 9th.  This is definitely an intense aspect.  Confrontations and power struggles will run rampant and people will feel more assertive as the desire to gain control over people or situations is very strong.  COVID-19 plays a pivotal role in fueling the intensity of this aspect because it certainly symbolizes a situation that we seemingly have no control over.  We are also dealing with a desire to make impulsive changes in our lives, but the best course of action for dealing with this aspect is to release the need for control and surrender to the transformation that is occurring.  Remember that Mars is about desire and Pluto is all about transformation, and a square aspect symbolizes tension.  This is a time to avoid ruthlessness and underhanded tactics at all costs because if we don’t we could wind up becoming a victim. Just warning you…

We also experienced this aspect on August 13th when Pluto was retrograde in 23 degrees of Capricorn and we will experience this aspect for the third and final time on December 23, 2020 when both Mars and Pluto are direct in 23 degrees of their respective signs.  I tend to think that the third time an aspect hits is the charm because hopefully we have learned the lesson of incorporating the energy constructively into our lives.  It’s also very interesting that by December 23rd both Saturn and Jupiter will be in Aquarius and their conjunction in Aquarius will have occurred on December 21st.

On the following day, October 10th, Venus in Virgo is forming an exact flowing, beneficial trine with Uranus in 9 degrees of Taurus.  This aspect can bring excitement in love, finances and gambling if you are so inclined. It’s also a great aspect for shopping and a little retail therapy. It holds the potential for favorable manifestations in relationships and finances that crop up out of the blue and sudden breakthroughs are possible.  We will experience more flexibility in relationships and finances.  The only caveat with this aspect is that if you do meet someone new, it may not be a relationship that lasts very long because Uranus has a way of shaking things up to bring excitement and novelty into your life.  I have this aspect natally and I can still remember when a psychic many years ago described me as an excitement junkie in relationships.  Venus trining Uranus was the culprit and I confess that I have always needed a lot of space and freedom in relationships which caused me to be attracted to offbeat types.

On October 12, 2020, Jupiter in Capricorn is forming an exact supportive sextile to Neptune in 18 degrees of Pisces.  This aspect has a very spiritually enlightening and optimistic vibe.  Intuition will be strong on this day.  This aspect represents an opportunity to engage in any ventures involving creativity, spirituality and compassion.  This is the third and final time we experience this aspect in 2020; the previous two occurred on February 20th in 17 degrees and on July 27th in 20 degrees when both Jupiter and Neptune were retrograde.  Neptune is still retrograde, but Jupiter is now direct, so make the most of this aspect.

On October 13, 2020, Mercury stations retrograde in 11 degrees of Scorpio.  It re-enters Libra on October 27, 2020 and stations direct on November 3, 2020 (the day of the United States Presidential election) in 25 degrees of Libra.  Mercury will re-enter Scorpio on November 10, 2020 where it remains until December 1, 2020.

But Mercury in Scorpio has been creating quite a ruckus already.  Mercury entered its retrograde shadow period on September 23, 2020 and it won’t clear its retrograde shadow period until November 19, 2020.  On October 7, 2020, Mercury in Scorpio formed an exact opposition to Uranus in 9 degrees of Taurus.  On that day I tweeted:

The United States had its only Vice Presidential debate on October 7th and while it thankfully wasn’t as volcanic as the Presidential debate on September 29th, it did create a certain amount of buzz politically.

Retrograde Mercury in Scorpio will be heavily invested in digging deep to unearth secrets.  We can expect heightened emotional defensiveness and a sharp and sarcastic edge to communications.  We may get a bit of break in that sarcastic edge when Mercury re-enters Libra on October 27th. Remember the three R’s associated with retrogrades: Review, Reflect and Reassess.  Of course, it goes without saying that when a planet is stationing retrograde or direct, its power is magnified and intensified.  We can expect the usual Mercury retrograde manifestations: problems and delays with communication and transportation, electronic snafus and avoid signing contracts if at all possible. Accepting a new job during Mercury Retrograde is not the wisest course of action, either, unless it is with a previous employer. I have heard so many people say that a job they accepted during Mercury Retrograde was totally different than what they thought it would be.

If you are curious about how all of these planetary changes will be affecting you, please consider getting an astrological reading. These are very challenging and unique times; an astrological reading could provide some much needed clarity and guidance.  Check out my menu of services at:

I was also featured in the July 3, 2017 edition of Boston Voyager, an online publication that runs a section called Inspiring Stories about local entrepreneurs on its home page.  The Scorpio moon was trining the Cancer sun and Neptune in Pisces on that day, so my story certainly debuted under fitting aspects.  Please feel free to check it out:

I urge everyone to engage in massive amounts of self-care and follow the protective measures of washing your hands frequently, maintaining social distancing, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, wearing a face mask when going outside your home and staying home if you are sick.  I repeat, you do not want to get this virus! I speak from personal experience and consider myself very fortunate to have survived Coronavirus. Stay safe and healthy, everyone!

Venus Enters Virgo, Pluto Stations Direct and Mercury Opposes Uranus

The month of October is starting off with a bang.  On October 1st, we had the first of two full moons in Aries.  That’s right folks, October started with a full moon in Aries and it ends on October 31st, Halloween with a full moon in Taurus.  Talk about trick or treat.

On October 2, 2020, Venus departs the fixed fire sign of Leo for the mutable earth sign of Virgo where it stays until October 27, 2020. Venus is said to be in fall in Virgo, but it can be a relief from the drama that Venus in Leo tends to bring. Venus in Leo was all about grand gestures and we tended to show our affection by bestowing our loved ones with expensive gifts. When Venus is in Virgo, we tend to be more practical, picky and perfectionist.  We demonstrate our love by doing things for others because Virgo is a service oriented sign. Venus in Virgo wants to fix things and make everything better, so this can be a good time to work on relationships because we tend to be more focused on our partner’s needs.  Just don’t fall into the shadow side of Venus in Virgo by being too critical or expecting too much perfection from others. It’s also a great opportunity to get real about our finances because Venus also rules money.  Maybe we will wind up trying to set up a budget, which can be a scary proposition in these scary economic times.

The pace continues on October 4th when Pluto stations direct in 22 degrees of Capricorn after being retrograde since April 25th.  It joins Jupiter and Saturn in Capricorn, who stationed direct on September 12th and September 29th.  On September 29th, I tweeted:

So now the triumvirate of heavy hitters in Capricorn are at least all direct.  Saturn and Jupiter will be leaving Capricorn in December for Aquarius but Pluto will remain in Capricorn until 2023.

What can we expect when Pluto in Capricorn is direct?  Now we will have the opportunity to act on what we have learned about power struggles in the last five months. Our deepest desires and secrets emerge now and the time has come to confront the darkest parts of ourselves in order to transform our lives.  It won’t be easy, however, especially on October 9th, when Pluto in Capricorn takes a hit via an exact square from retrograde Mars in 22 degrees of Aries.  Confrontations and power struggles could definitely be on the agenda, so be careful on that day.  Things might get ugly fast.

On October 7, 2020, Mercury in 9 degrees of Scorpio forms an exact opposition with Uranus in Taurus.  This aspect is bound to increase the levels of anxiety and nervous tension.  There will be a hectic pace that can leave us feeling tense and scattered; it’s really not great energy for any tasks that require concentration.  It’s important to listen carefully and keep an open mind on this day, but try not to make any long-term decisions.  Abrupt changes are likely to occur and plans could change on a dime.  This aspect has a very restless vibe and we are bound to be feeling more anxiety prone.

I confess that I am a little concerned about this aspect because Mercury conjuncts my Saturn in Scorpio in the 1st house but I am trying to look at the positive side because at least Mercury will forming a supportive sextile to my north node in Capricorn in my 3rd house while Uranus in Taurus is trining it.  But having Uranus transiting my 7th house is a whole different ball game which is going to continue until May 2022. And be aware that computers and electronics could malfunction big time on this day because we are already in the Mercury retrograde shadow.  Speaking of Mercury retrograde, which officially starts on October 13th, we will get to experience this aspect two more times: on October 19th and on November 17th, when Mercury is direct.  Uranus will be retrograde until January 14, 2021.

If you are curious about how all of these planetary changes will be affecting you, please consider getting an astrological reading. These are very challenging and unique times; an astrological reading could provide some much needed clarity and guidance.  Check out my menu of services at:
