A Day to Remember on September 10 with a New Moon in Virgo, Mercury and Venus Changing Signs and Uranus Going Retrograde

 

Save the day of September 10 on your calendar for major astrological happenings.  We are finally through processing the effects of the August eclipses because we have a New Moon in 18 degrees of Virgo on that day.  Mercury is the ruling planet of this New Moon and it is moving into Libra on that day.  It will be on a World Point because it is in 0 degrees of a cardinal sign; the World Axis consists of planets in 0 degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. 

Mercury will be in Libra until September 30.  What can we expect when Mercury is in Libra? Well, you might be hearing bad news in a nice way because communication tends to be more diplomatic and balanced to ensure harmonious relationships.  It is a good time to resolve conflict because fair negotiations are possible.  We are seeking fairness and justice.  It can also be a time of reflection with the 25th anniversary of 9/11 coming up on the next day. Just be mindful that the shadow side of Mercury in Libra is a tendency towards indecisiveness and avoidance of conflict.

The themes of this particular New Moon in Virgo entail practical resets in our daily routines, health and work.  Purging, purity and cleansing are associated with Virgo.  Mercury in Libra will be opposing Neptune in Aries on the New Moon, which will increase our psychic sensitivity and creativity.  We also have a beautiful Grand Air Trine involving Uranus in 5 degrees of Gemini, Pluto in 3 degrees of Aquarius and Mercury in 0 degrees of Libra. This can bring a wonderful healing influence that incorporates technology.  If you have any planets from 3-7 degrees of the mutable signs of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius you can expect to feel somewhat restless on this New Moon.

We are still under the influence of the trine between Jupiter in 15 degrees of Leo and Saturn in 13 degrees of Aries.  It was exact on August 31, 2026.  This aspect makes it easier for us to implement long-lasting changes.   The trine will be exact again on April 3, 2027 in 22 degrees and on July 11, 2027 in 27 degrees.  Fire energy likes to take action.  Be sure to look at what houses this falls in your chart.  Jupiter is currently at the end of my 10th house and Saturn is at the end of my 6th house.  They will both have moved to my 11th and 7th houses by the next time they are exact in April 2027.  

Venus enters Scorpio on September 10 and will have an extended run in the fixed water sign because Venus will station retrograde in 8 degrees of Scorpio on October 3, slip back into Libra on October 25, go direct in 22 degrees of Libra on November 13 and re-enter Scorpio on December 4.  Venus will remain in Scorpio through the first week in January 2027.  I have my Venus retrograde in Scorpio, so I can tell you what this involves: it is deep, passionate and transformative in relationships.  There can be harsh communications (watch out for that Scorpio stinger) and a lot of behind-the-scenes action.  Finances, values, digging for the truth and passion will be emphasized.  Scorpio is an all or nothing sign, which means that jealousy, possessiveness and power struggles can emerge. It is a big change from Venus in Libra, although we do get a few weeks of Venus in Libra in late October through early December. Just be prepared for a lot of intensity in relationships and finances.  Venus in Scorpio doesn't do light and frothy.

Uranus is stationing retrograde in 5 degrees of Gemini on the New Moon too.  It remains retrograde until February 8, 2027 when it moves forward in 2 degrees of Gemini.  We will be reevaluating decisions we have made since Uranus went into Gemini in late April 2026.  It is a time of processing recent surprises instead of forcing new breakthroughs.  External chaos can be transmuted into internal reflection.  In other words, try to integrate recent disruptions before initiating any more major changes.  The year 2026 has definitely served up its fair share of upheaval.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
