Massive Changes Underway this Week as the Sun Enters Taurus, Jupiter and Uranus are Conjunct in Taurus, A Full Moon in Scorpio and Mercury Goes Direct

 

This week has plenty of planetary action including the Sun's ingress into Taurus, the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Taurus, a Full Moon in Scorpio and Mercury going direct on April 25.  We have come through eclipse season and Pluto entering Aquarius in January, but this week could top the charts quite literally.  There is a strong theme of shedding and releasing prevalent in the second half of April.

On April 19, the Sun leaves Aries and enters the fixed earth sign of Taurus.  I think that I can safely surmise that most of us are exhausted by now with Aries season. That Solar Eclipse in Aries on April 8 is still in effect for many of us. We still have Mercury, Venus, Chiron and the North Node in Aries, but at least the Sun is leaving.  What can we expect when the Sun is in Taurus?  Well, it is ruled by Venus, which loves harmony, sensuality and enjoys the finer things in life.  We can't forget that Aries is ruled by Mars, which is a very different vibe than peace-loving Venus. When the Sun is in Taurus, we tend to be more receptive, grounded and methodical. Of course, the shadow side of Taurus is a tendency to be more stubborn (aka the Bull) and possessive.

Mars in Pisces is forming supportive sextiles to Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus on April 19.  This is setting the stage for the main attraction on April 20 when Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct in 21 degrees of Taurus. This is a cosmic green light for positive change in new directions.  It provides energy and motivation to move forward.

Jupiter is conjunct Uranus every 13 or 14 years and denotes a period of breakdowns or breakthroughs.  Breaking free is the mantra with this aspect. It starts a whole new cycle of change that will last for the next 14 years. The last time Jupiter and Uranus were conjunct was in June 2010 in 0 degrees of Aries and again in September 2010 and January 2011 in the late degrees of Pisces.  Jupiter conjunct Uranus can feel somewhat disruptive but it is ultimately productive. There will be an emphasis on survival and self-reliance with the conjunction occurring in Taurus.  There is also the likelihood of more earthquakes or natural disasters with it falling in the earth sign of Taurus.  The last time we had a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Taurus was in May 1941 during World War 2.  This conjunction is also trining the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in 22 degrees of Capricorn that happened on January 12, 2020 and ushered in the COVID era that featured themes of contraction, control and limitation.  Remember lockdowns and toilet paper shortages???  Perhaps we will feel like we are finally clearing the shadow of this era.  Astrologer Pam Gregory has described the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction as a "Thank the Lord" aspect of liberation and I couldn't agree more with her.  The tricky part is that you are thanking the Lord when it is over, not so much when it is happening.

Who is going to feel the effects of this aspect most acutely?  Anyone with planets in 19-23 degrees of the fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio will probably feel more shockwaves initially from this aspect.  The effects of the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction will be felt for awhile, so don't think if nothing happens to you on this day, you have escaped it. Venus and Chiron are also conjunct in Aries on this day, which is an incentive to break up old patterns in relationships, such as people-pleasing.

The Sun in Taurus is squaring Pluto in 2 degrees of Aquarius on April 21.  There is a strong theme with this aspect of letting go of attachments and control issues.  I have this aspect natally, so trust me when I speak about control and power being major issues.  In a way, this aspect is setting the stage the Full Moon in 4 degrees of Scorpio on April 23.

The Full Moon in 4 degrees of Scorpio on April 23 is also squaring Scorpio's ruling planet, Pluto in Aquarius.  Pluto is actually forming a T-square to the Sun in Taurus and Moon in Scorpio, so this Full Moon will be intense, I kid you not. But it can also be quite empowering.  Hold that thought... The themes of power, truth, control, commitment and secrets coming to light will prevail.  Some of these secrets could pertain to money with the Sun being in Taurus.  Safety and security issues could arise.  The shadow side of Scorpio entails revenge and grudge-holding but try to rise to the higher level of Scorpio which has integrity, loyalty and higher morality.  I urge everyone to try to be as spiritually compassionate as possible because Scorpio's shadow side can be pretty destructive.  If you have any planets in 0-4 degrees of the fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio, you will probably be dealing with issues of empowerment, control and manipulation.

The week ends on a very promising note on April 25 when Mercury stations direct in 16 degrees of Aries.  Mercury has been retrograde since April 1, which was not exactly the nicest April Fool's joke.  It was in Aries during the whole retrograde, having stationed retrograde in 27 degrees of Aries and I am sure that this added to the impatience most of us experienced.  We finally get to see a light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to communication and transportation snafus.  Just remember that Mercury officially clears its retrograde shadow on May 13 and we should all be fine.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Venus and Mercury Move into Libra

 

Venus and Mercury will be entering the sign of Libra on October 27, 2020 within eight minutes of each other. Mercury is first and since it is currently retrograde (how could we forget?) it will be moving from Scorpio into Libra.  Venus is direct and will be moving from Virgo into Libra, where it is in its happy place, since Libra is one of the two signs (Taurus being the other) that Venus rules.

But before either of these personal planets left their respective signs they managed to deliver some potent aspects.  On October 19, 2020, Mercury in 10 degrees of Scorpio opposed Uranus in 10 degrees of Taurus.  It was definitely my bad that I neglected to mention this on Twitter. I experienced the full force of this aspect on the 19^th when a client emailed me that she couldn’t order a reading from my site.  I tried too and wound up unable to get through to PayPal and Blogger.com has not responded to my inquiries.  So I have revised my Services Offered to reflect this problem and request that clients send their payment to my email via PayPal.  My PayPal account is working just fine.  I also tweeted on that day:

Perhaps I just need to enter new Buy Now buttons, but I think I will just wait until Mercury is direct before I attempt that.  In the meantime, please feel free to send payments through PayPal to my email at lindasim54@gmail.com.  It looks like I am living proof of Mercury Retrograde opposing Uranus and the technological havoc it can wreak.

 Mercury will not remain in Libra for very long; it will re-enter the sign of Scorpio on November 10, 2020 and stay in Scorpio until December 1, 2020.  Mercury was previously in the sign of Libra from September 5, 2020 through September 27, 2020.  When Mercury is in the sign of Libra, people tend to be more diplomatic and friendly and we have a more rational approach to relationships.  It’s a time when we find it easier to consider other points of view as we seek justice and fairness.  We should probably reflect on what was going on in our lives during that last week of September before Mercury stations direct in 25 degrees of Libra on November 3, 2020.  This could be a time when we are able to balance the scales of justice and fairness.

Before Venus departs the sign of Virgo for greener pastures in Libra, it trines Saturn in 25 degrees of Capricorn on October 24, 2020.  This will be a stabilizing influence and is extremely favorable for commitments and long-term investments. 

Venus will be in Libra until November 21, 2020.  When Venus is transiting the sign of Libra, we are more likely to be charming and kind as opposed to being aggressive.  We also tend to be more idealistic about love as we seek balance in our relationships.  Venus in Libra is a very favorable influence for personal and balance partnerships, art, beauty and justice.  As a matter of fact, beauty and comfort are paramount to us during this transit and the arts can provide a soothing balm for us. But the flip side is that we could also wind up spending too much money on luxury items, which we will crave more than usual. 

Venus in Libra has a shadow side that we need to be mindful of.  We may become inclined to dependency (to the point of codependency in our quest to please others) and we are also inclined to be inconsistent, indecisive and superficial. But Venus in Libra has a softer and gentler side that we need to appreciate.

Full Moon in Scorpio Ramps up the Emotional Intensity

Scorpio is ruling the roost astrologically, so to speak.  Its two ruling planets, Mars and Pluto, went retrograde on April 17^th and 18^th respectively, and on April 22^nd we have a full moon in 2 degrees of Scorpio. This full moon will deliver a lot of emotional intensity and longstanding secrets may be revealed.  This is huge for Scorpios because of their intrinsically secretive nature. A major theme of the moon in Scorpio opposing the Taurus sun is Scorpio’s need to change and transform conflicting with the Taurus need for personal security.

How is this going to play out?  My tweets on the full moon reflected the energy of the day:

“#FullMoon in Scorpio today trines Neptune in Pisces which can feel hypnotic, but also offers opportunities to reclaim power & end victim role.”

“Venus conjuncts Uranus in Aries today & they square #PlutoinCapricorn.  Deep emotions may suddenly surface & conflict with security needs.”

So this full moon in Scorpio prominently features Neptune, Venus and Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn stirring the emotional pot.  Venus conjunct Uranus can bring some unpredictable emotions, but it can also manifest in financial upsets.  With both Venus and Uranus squaring Pluto during this full moon, there could be major financial and government upheavals. The Venus Uranus conjunction in Aries squares my Cancer midheaven, so I’m not ruling out any surprises on that score.

While a Scorpio full moon is definitely intense and not for lightweights, it doesn’t have to be all gloom and doom.  There can be positive energy present and pleasant surprises can occur if we remain open to it.

Mercury in 21 degrees of Taurus will be favorably trining the north node in Virgo on the day of the full moon, which will increase the likelihood of our being open to new ideas that support us as we embark on our soul’s path.  And while Mercury automatically sextiles the south node in Pisces, we have another favorable aspect that empowers us to let go of our past in the form of karmic baggage that is no longer serving our best interests.

Jupiter in Virgo is another team player in this Scorpio full moon.  It trines Pluto in Capricorn and will also sextile the moon in Scorpio.  These aspects can lend a note of optimism to this deeply intense, complex full moon.  Just be mindful of Jupiter in Virgo squaring Saturn in Sagittarius, as this will undoubtedly make us more aware of the challenges and limitations we face in love relationships and finances.  Discipline and patience will be required in order to achieve our goals.  I realize that no one likes to hear the lecture about patience (least of all myself, with a natal Saturn squaring both my sun and Mars, and a cardinal T-square to boot), but hopefully the Taurus sun will instill in us the need to plant some seeds that will yield a fruitful harvest.

This full moon in Scorpio is conjunct my Mercury, which will bring me increased emotional sensitivity and intuition, as well as the potential for volatile mood swings.  I will need to make sure that my emotional attachments don’t cloud my perception.  This piece could get rather tricky, because my natal Neptune in Libra forms an out of sign conjunction with that Mercury in Scorpio.  The full moon may be great for my work because of the increased intuition it brings, but there may be an emotional cost.  I experienced a great deal of frustration with communication and transportation issues (typical Mercury stuff) on April 21^st, so the full moon intensity is alive and well in my chart!

I would wager that Hillary Clinton will benefit favorably from this full moon in Scorpio.  It is exactly conjunct her Scorpio sun and I am convinced that her solid win in the New York primary earlier this week was evidence of that full moon conjuncting her sun. Full moons are about endings, and if nothing else, her New York win certainly slowed down her competition’s recent winning streak. She has waged a hard fought battle with Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination for President, and she may very well be coming to the end of that journey.

The north node in Virgo has an underlying theme of service to others.  In that spirit of pursuing my path as a healer, I am channeling that north node and Jupiter in Virgo energy by offering my Reiki services.
