Neptune is Ruling the Astrological Landscape as Mercury Enters Pisces

Uranus may have been calling the shots in last week’s new moon on January 24, 2020 but now it is Neptune’s turn to be ruling the astrological landscape.  On January 27, 2020, Venus in Pisces conjuncted Neptune in Pisces, inspiring me to tweet:
On the following day, January 28, 2020 Mars in Sagittarius squared Neptune in Pisces and I tweeted:
Neptune is a very complicated planet and its influence is very strong these days.  It rules the sign of Pisces so it really was a big deal when Venus and Neptune were conjunct in the sign of Pisces. And it was not so pleasant for most people when Mars in Sagittarius squared Neptune in Pisces.  Neptune is associated with the qualities of spirituality, compassion, redemption, inspiration, transcendence, and visionary experiences, but it has a shadow side of addiction, lying, escapism, chaos and confusion.

I was watching Penny Thornton’s latest YouTube astrology video a few days ago on Neptune’s Way when a certain amount of clarity descended upon me and helped to dissolve that Neptunian fog.  Did I mention that Neptune is also associated with smoke and mirrors?  She spoke about the general theme of people feeling lost, confused, fearful and hopeless.  It certainly resonated for me and I have been hearing the same thing from my clients as well.  The prevailing sentiment these days seems to be what Penny was addressing: the feeling that I should be doing something but I don’t know what it should be.  Almost everyone feels that something has to change (after all, 2020 is earmarked to be year of massive change), but most of us are still in a fog (pardon the pun) as to what we should be done.  Penny assured us in her video that when the Neptune transit is over, we will know where we should be on our path.

I suspect that this is exacerbated in my case because I have a very strong natal Neptune.  I am a quintessential Neptunian. Neptune is in my 1st house of self conjunct my Libra ascendant, Juno in Libra and Mercury in Scorpio. My Neptune also squares my natal Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer in the 10th house of career and public standing.  I have been undergoing a difficult Neptune square transit to my natal moon in Gemini for nearly two years and its orb is fading but I am still not totally unclear as to where I should be on my path.  I know that I need to make some changes in my work (my moon is also in the 8th house which certainly contributes to my psychic abilities) but I may need to wait until that aspect really has faded for the clarity to emerge.  But I am also under the influence of transiting Neptune in Pisces trining my Scorpio sun which is forming now and perhaps that one will be kinder due to its trine influence.  Trines are definitely much easier to deal with than squares.  Time will tell, as I will be undergoing this transit for another two years.

On February 3, 2020, Mercury enters the sign of Pisces.  Mercury will have an extended stay in the sign of Pisces because we are gearing up for the first Mercury Retrograde of 2020.  Mercury stations retrograde on February 16, 2020 in 12 degrees of Pisces, but it enters the shadow period on February 2, 2020 in 28 degrees of Aquarius.  Mercury will station direct on March 9, 2020 in 28 degrees of Aquarius and will re-enter Pisces on March 16, 2020.  Mercury remains in the sign of Pisces until April 11, 2020, so I’m not kidding when I say Mercury in Pisces is a long transit, with a brief stint in the sign of Aquarius.

What can we expect when Mercury is in Pisces?  Well, our thinking and communications are more intuitive and imaginative.  Our decisions are more likely to be made on the basis of intuition than logic. Our dreams will undoubtedly be more vivid and we may find ourselves knowing things we can’t explain because our subconscious is being triggered more when Mercury is in Pisces.  Imagination is heightened with Mercury in Pisces but we are dealing with a combination of intuition and delusion.  Don’t forget the shadow side of Mercury in Pisces: miscommunication and deception are just as likely.  And if you have a prominent Neptune in your chart like, me, it’s a good idea to set some mental boundaries because otherwise you might have some trouble discerning the difference between your thoughts and those of others.  Mercury in Pisces can definitely cast some of that Neptunian fog on our lives.

If you are curious as to how all of these planetary changes will be affecting you, please consider getting an astrological reading.  I have recently revised my menu of services and am now offering a Saturn Pluto Conjunction reading for $25 which will offer you some insight and guidance into how this major astrological event that occurred on January 12, 2020 in 22 degrees of Capricorn will impact you.  It’s not too late to purchase this reading because its effects will be felt for most of 2020. It can be purchased through my site at:

Uranus Calls the Shots in the New Moon in Aquarius

The season of Aquarius officially commenced on January 20, 2020 when the sun entered Aquarius and I tweeted:

The Aquarian plot thickened on January 23, 2020 when the sun in Aquarius squared Uranus in Taurus, inspiring me to tweet:
This was a very restless, edgy vibe which probably led many of us to renew our commitment to making some major changes in our lives.  It may have felt like a crisis of action.  If you have any planets between 0-4 degrees of the fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo or Scorpio, you really felt this aspect.  I have my Mercury in 0 degrees of Scorpio, and I confess that I am definitely feeling restless and wanting to make some major changes in my work and communication. For example, I would love to be doing more telephone readings and offering private astrology lessons over the phone.  Please feel free to contact me at lindasim54@gmail.com to get more details on this service.

On January 24, 2020, we have a new moon in 4 degrees of Aquarius that squares Uranus in 2 degrees of Taurus.  Once again, this new moon will have a major impact on any one with fixed planets in 0-4 degrees of those fixed signs.  That’s right, folks, first the sun squares Uranus and then the moon squares Uranus.  And we all know that Uranus rules Aquarius, so this is intense energy.  Aquarius is a very future oriented sign, so this new moon is an especially opportune time to set some new intentions in whatever area of life it falls in your chart because new moons are perfect for setting new intentions. The new moon in Aquarius falls in my 4th house and is widely conjunct my Mars in 14 degrees of Aquarius, so it’s no wonder that I am feeling the restless vibe.

The first half of January saw us engulfed in Capricorn energy, including the Saturn Pluto conjunction on January 12, 2020. It may have triggered some fears from our past, but the influx of Aquarius energy (Mercury entered Aquarius on January 17th) is giving us more of a glimpse of the future.  The new moon squaring Uranus in Taurus can spark creativity and deliver new ideas at a rapid rate.  A major theme of this new moon in Aquarius is to stretch out of your comfort zone and get unstuck.  Believe me, a lot of people are feeling stuck these days.  A new moon in Aquarius beckons us to make a new start.  And with that moon squaring Uranus, if we don’t initiate change, it may be thrust upon us because that’s the way Uranus rolls.

The new moon in Aquarius is also accompanied by high levels of anxiety, crises and mood swings along with the Uranian qualities of unexpected changes, unpredictable behavior, abruptness and impulsiveness.  It could very well lead to arguments in relationships.  This causes me to believe that many of us will feel like this is a full moon and not a new moon.  I am probably in that camp myself, because the new moon will be so close to my Mars in Aquarius.  The Aquarius moon is forming a supportive sextile to Chiron in Aries that day, which may very well be saving grace aspect for relationships in terms of healing old wounds if we can use the Aquarian trait of detachment to gain a new perspective on that day.

On January 25, 2020, Mercury in Aquarius sextile Mars in Sagittarius, which may provide more inspiration for implementing new ideas. The moon in Aquarius is also conjunct Mercury, which can contribute to some sudden flashes of insight and eureka moments. It is also the Chinese New Year, which marks the Year of the Rat.   On the following day, January 26, 2020, Mars in Sagittarius squares Venus in Pisces, which could play out in a variety of ways.  It could increase our sexual desire but it could also trigger anger, lack of self-control and impulsiveness.  If you need to release some tension on that day, creative endeavors and exercise are two good options.  Try to engage in an activity that you enjoy without hurting others.

While the new moon represents a day of setting new intentions, it may not be the best day to implement them.  The moon enters the cardinal fire sign of Aries on January 29, 2020 and this day may be the best time to put those ideas into action.  By that date, the dust will have cleared from Uranus stirring the pot and the Venus Mars square.

The Season of Aquarius is Upon Us

Capricorn has been ruling the astrological roost lately, what with the sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Ceres, and the Saturn Pluto conjunction in Capricorn on January 12, 2020, when I tweeted:
But the energy is starting to lighten up a bit this week.  I was watching astrologer Penny Thornton’s latest YouTube video about the Saturn Pluto conjunction and it really resonated for me.  She spoke about how Saturn is connected to the past and when Saturn and Pluto are conjunct in Capricorn she commented on how fear and paranoia are really triggered. She also said that you don’t have to be a Capricorn to feel the effects of this aspect; everyone has some placements in the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn so we will all be feeling it. I have definitely been seeing this in my work with clients lately.  The Saturn Pluto conjunction ensures that changes are coming and resistance is futile, to say the least.  We all need to face what needs to be released from our lives (that’s Pluto’s job and it’s not the most gentle agent of change and transformation) but it is easier said than done especially when Saturn is in Capricorn, a sign that loves tradition.

On January 13, 2020, Venus left the sign of Aquarius and entered Pisces.  On that day I tweeted:
I have to admit that I felt much lighter myself that day and in a much better mood.  Nothing really dramatic happened to me on the day of the Saturn Pluto conjunction; perhaps it was just serving as a release valve for the tension that had been building since 2020 started and we were gearing up for a lunar eclipse in Cancer and the Saturn Pluto on January 10th and January 12th.  What a double whammy this was!

Capricorn is a very dense and heavy, sign, so I am really happy that we have two planets this week leaving the sign of Capricorn.  Mercury entered the sign of Aquarius on January 16, 2020.  Mercury will remain in Aquarius until February 3, 2020.  But we have an upcoming Mercury retrograde on February 16, 2020 when Mercury stations retrograde in 12 degrees of Pisces and it re-enters Aquarius from March 4, 2020 until March 16, 2020.  Mercury will station direct on March 9, 2020 in 28 degrees of Aquarius.

Mercury in Aquarius will put a more cerebral and intellectual spin on communications.  After all of the sturm and drang of Mercury in Capricorn, it will be a relief to be able to have a more detached perspective on recent events.  Mercury in Aquarius is very future oriented and progressive, which is a marked contrast from Mercury in Capricorn which is rooted in the past.  Communications should be more spontaneous, offbeat and downright eccentric when Mercury is transiting the sign of Aquarius.  We are hungry for knowledge and extremely open to new ideas.

Mercury in Aquarius will also be squaring Uranus in 2 degrees of Taurus on January 18, 2020, which can bring some sudden insights in a rather abrupt manner.  I have this aspect natally, and I can attest to its benefits in terms of the amount of insight it bestows upon me which helps to counteract the distracting and abrupt nature of this aspect.  I have been known to deliver some shocking zingers to people in my life.  Uranus does love to shock. When Mercury squares Uranus on January 18, 2020, we could experience excitement, changes to our daily routines and some nervous tension.  There could be some mishaps in communications, so try to avoid making any major decisions.

On January 20, 2020, the sun enters Aquarius.  When the sun is in Aquarius, we will feel more social because Aquarius is an air sign and is very group oriented.  We should be feeling more concerned with humanity in general which dovetails quite nicely with the compassionate vibe of Venus in Pisces.  It is an excellent opportunity to make new friends and enlarge our social circle.

The sun in Aquarius will be squaring Uranus in Taurus on January 23, 2020.  This is very restless energy which will be accompanied by anxious feelings of impending change.  Ego is very strong with this transit, so watch that temper! Try to be as proactive as possible about positive change and remain flexible.

A Lunar Eclipse in Cancer, the Saturn Pluto Conjunction in Capricorn and Venus in Pisces

In the 1960’s there was a TV show called That Was the Week That Was.  Somehow I believe that the astrological community will call upon those words in reference to the coming week to describe the energy of 2020.  For starters, we have a lunar eclipse in 20 degrees of Cancer on January 10, 2020.  Uranus also stations direct in 2 degrees of Taurus that day, there is the Saturn Pluto conjunction in 22 degrees of Capricorn on January 12, 2020 and Venus enters Pisces on January 13, 2020.

Let’s start with the lunar eclipse in 20 degrees of Cancer on January 10, 2020. We all know that lunar eclipses are like full moons on steroids and this one is no exception, especially with it falling in the moon’s home sign of Cancer.  Lunar eclipses are also a time of closure, completion, and feelings coming to a head.  A lunar eclipse in the sign of Cancer is an extremely emotional time and emotional security is paramount to us at this time.  I can tell you from personal experience and from the perspective of my clients that this has been a really volatile week emotionally. With the Cancer moon opposing the sun, Mercury, Pluto, Saturn and Ceres in Capricorn, there is a strong theme of letting go.  The moon’s opposition to Saturn in Capricorn can feel particularly oppressive because it brings feelings of loneliness, sadness and boredom.  And the opposition to Pluto in Capricorn also contributes to tension in relationships as power dynamics come up, along with conflicts and arguments.

The lunar eclipse in Cancer falls in my 10th house and is conjunct my midheaven, squaring my Libra ascendant, conjunct my retrograde Uranus in Cancer, opposing my Chiron in Capricorn in my 4th house and also squaring my Neptune and Juno in Libra in my 1st house.  It would be an understatement to say that this has been one tension filled week.  But I will admit that it has been good for business.

Mercury in Capricorn is conjunct the sun and opposing the moon in Cancer, so there will be a focus on communication during this eclipse, but we need to be mindful to do so with openness, honesty, love and compassion.  Jupiter in 8 degrees of Capricorn is also conjunct the south node in Capricorn on the day of the eclipse.  Jupiter loves to expand and its conjunction to the south node in Capricorn will magnify the way that decisions are made from authoritarian points of view that are simply not cutting it anymore.  We cannot continue with attitudes of dominance and arrogance, and I think that world events in the past week bear that out.

Uranus is also stationing direct in 2 degrees of Taurus on January 10, 2020.  Whenever a planet stations retrograde or direct, its power is intensified.  This can be a time of great awakening, but there is a very sudden and disruptive side of Uranus.  With Uranus in Taurus, we will probably continue to experience more environmental crises, as indicated by the fires in Australia and the recent earthquake in Puerto Rico.

But there is a redeeming factor, a saving grace to this eclipse.  Neptune in 16 degrees of Pisces is trining the moon in 20 degrees of Cancer and sextiling that posse of planets in Capricorn.  This is the saving grace aspect of the lunar eclipse and it can serve as a release valve for tensions as it increases our sensitivity and compassion for others.  Don’t waste this energy.

On January 12, 2020 Saturn and Pluto will be conjunct in 22 degrees of Capricorn.  This aspect has been building since January 2019 and its effects will probably remain with us until December 2020 when Saturn enters the sign of Aquarius.  The last time Saturn and Pluto were conjunct was on November 7, 1982 in 28 degrees of Libra.  Saturn is all about structure and preserving security, order and tradition, while Pluto is intent on destroying and transforming what is beneath the surface, so they are not exactly happy campers together.  Historically, major events seem to transpire when Saturn and Pluto are conjunct. The cycle of these conjunctions is approximately every 33-38 years.  It is frequently said that many people describe Saturn Pluto conjunctions as turning points in their lives and can be described as what life was like before and after the conjunctions.  They tend to have global implications.  For example, there was a Saturn Pluto conjunction in October 1914 in Cancer that correlated with the outbreak of World War 1.  In 2001 Saturn in Gemini was opposing Pluto in Sagittarius and we experienced 9/11, so it is important to remember that Saturn Pluto alignments have far-reaching implications. This Saturn Pluto conjunction will have major implications for governments and business regarding issues of power.

A Saturn Pluto conjunction in Capricorn will bring upheaval in the stock market, government, banking and big business.  With Mercury in Capricorn, the news will be big in these areas. It’s hard to say exactly what will manifest on January 12, 2020, but perhaps many of us will just feel some kind of release of the tension that has been building for the past year. And the Saturn Pluto conjunction will have a major impact on the United States presidential election.  The Saturn Pluto conjunction falls in my 4th house and is conjunct my Chiron in Capricorn and opposing my Cancer midheaven, as well as my Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer, in addition to squaring my Libra ascendant and Neptune and Juno in Libra in my 1st house.  If you are wondering how the Saturn Pluto conjunction will affect you, you can still purchase a Saturn Pluto conjunction reading.

On the following day, January 13, 2020, Venus enters the sign of Pisces until February 7, 2020.  Venus is considered to be exalted in Pisces because forgiveness and compassion abound when Venus is in Pisces. It embraces the concept of unconditional love.  Venus in Pisces brings feelings of warmth and connection while it transcends limitations.  It is also favorable energy for artistic and creative endeavors.  But we do need to be aware of the fact that boundaries can get blurred while Venus is transiting Pisces and the shadow side involves evasiveness and a tendency to be victimized, play the martyr or be conned by others. If we keep this in mind, the Venus in Pisces transit should prove to be a welcome respite from the recent eclipse season and the Saturn Pluto conjunction.

If you are curious as to how all of these planetary changes will be affecting you, please consider getting an astrological reading.  I have recently revised my menu of services and am now offering a Saturn Pluto Conjunction reading for $25 which will offer you some insight and guidance into how this major astrological event that occurs on January 12, 2020 in 22 degrees of Capricorn will impact you.  It can be purchased through my site at:

I have also added a new reading to my menu of services, a Clues to Compatibility reading, which is designed primarily for non-romantic relationships and utilizes synastry to determine your connections with friends, family members and business associates.

I have been doing more work with tarot readings, which I love, so I decided to create a new combination reading which offers the option of a 30 minute astrology consultation with a one question tarot reading for only $50. There is something for everyone and my menu of services can accommodate any budget.

Since I love to talk astrology and believe in making it more available to everyone, I am now offering pay by the minute astrology readings through Click 4Advisor.  Check it out at:

This might be the perfect way for you to get a taste of what astrology can do for you in terms of providing insight into your life during these challenging times.  Obviously the 30 minute readings are the best deal, but you might be surprised by how much you learn in 10 minutes or less from a brief glance at your chart. I am also available for tarot readings in person if you are in the Boston area or by telephone if you are unable to travel to my home in Newton, MA.  I use the Celestial Tarot Deck, which I love because it contains so many astrological symbols.  A tarot reading is another great option for obtaining insight and clarity.

If you are in the Boston area, please consider getting a Reiki treatment at Acupuncture for Everyone in Copley Square to destress, revitalize and remove blockages to healing.  It’s a perfect way to start your weekend off and can also be described as a spa for the soul to boot!   Reiki is the most profound treatment for stress relief because it concentrates on CALMING your body.

For my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule for a treatment or have difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing distance Reiki sessions for them.  I have a conversation with them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages.  I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. If this appeals to you, please feel free to contact me by email at lindasim54@gmail.com or call me at 617-304-2205.  I am also offering Reiki treatments at my home in Newton, MA on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and in the Coolidge Corner section of Brookline on Sunday afternoons.  Recently I have added online booking for my Sunday clients on my site.  Check it out at:

I was also featured in the July 3, 2017 edition of Boston Voyager, an online publication that runs a section called Inspiring Stories about local entrepreneurs on its home page.  The Scorpio moon was trining the Cancer sun and Neptune in Pisces on that day, so my story certainly debuted under fitting aspects.  Please feel free to check it out:

A New Year is off to a Roaring Start with Mars Entering Sagittarius

Happy New Year and Happy New Decade!  Are we set to experience another Roaring 20’s in the 21st century?

Time will tell, but on January 3, 2020 Mars will depart the sign of Scorpio to enter the fire sign of Sagittarius until February 16, 2020.  But before Mars departed Scorpio, it received a nice hit from the sensitive Pisces moon on New Year’s Day.  On that day I tweeted:
Mars in Sagittarius is a whole different ball game from Mars in Scorpio.  With Mars in Sagittarius, we are definitely into seeing the big picture and wanting to act on it, which is a marked change from Mars in Scorpio, which has a laser like focus on acting on a particular goal. It has a very restless vibe and a strong desire for freedom.  It brings us the confidence and courage we need to pursue our spiritual desires.  Mars in Sagittarius is motivated to act on its ideals.  We love adventure and are more open to taking risks when Mars is in Sagittarius.  It is definitely prime time for initiating new projects or ideas. The shadow side of Mars transiting Sagittarius is that moderation may be hard to come by because Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter and we may have a tendency to have too many fingers in the pot with that mutable energy.  It depends on what house Mars is transiting in your chart to see where this energy will manifest.  It starts in my 2nd house but will enter my 3rd house on January 25, 2020, the day after the new moon in Aquarius.

Mars in Sagittarius is wasting no time in making some important aspects that will have profound effects on our lives.  On January 5, 2020, Mars in 1 degree of Sagittarius will be exactly trine Chiron in 1 degree of Aries.  This aspect represents an opportunity to heal our anger through honesty (another key Sagittarian trait) and recognizing what needs to be healed.  It is also an opportunity to set boundaries in relationships and align our actions with integrity.

On January 7, 2020, Mars in 2 degrees of Sagittarius forms an irritating and challenging inconjunct to Uranus in 2 degrees of Taurus.  The inconjunct is an uncomfortable aspect because it requires an adjustment for the two planets to co-exist.  Mars inconjunct Uranus will deliver a great deal of nervous tension and we could be feeling quite impetuous as we crave something different.  This can also be an accident prone aspect, so by all means be careful on this day.  Uranus is still retrograde, but it stations direct on January 10, 2020, the day of the big lunar eclipse in 20 degrees of Cancer.  So we are in the midst of eclipse season and we all know that when a planet is getting ready to station either direct or retrograde its energy is intensified.  Don’t be surprised if people are acting unpredictably on this day with this kind of energy in play.

And we have two major astrological events occurring in the first half of January 2020: the lunar eclipse in 20 degrees of Cancer on January 10th and the really big one that occurs on January 12, 2020: the Saturn Pluto conjunction in 22 degrees of Capricorn.  The Saturn Pluto conjunction has been building since January 2019 and we will probably continue to feel its effects until December 2020, when Saturn enters Aquarius. On January 12, 2020, we may just experience a release of the tension that most of have been experiencing. I’m certainly hearing about that tension from my clients. I’ll be covering these two events in greater detail in next week’s post.

If I am not available you can always request a callback and I will respond quickly.

My site also offers the opportunity to provide a donation in the amount of your choice to demonstrate your support for my blog and daily astrological insights on Twitter at:

A contribution in any amount is deeply appreciated as gratitude is a daily part of my spiritual practice.

Recently I undertook an intensive life purpose coaching training program and became certified as a Life Purpose Coach.  It was an intense, eye-opening experience that changed my life as it caused me to reflect on the story of my life.  But I left it with feelings of hope and light for the future that I want to share with others.  To that end, I am now offering Life Purpose Coaching to my menu of services.  You can read more about it at:
