The month of June is definitely heating up astrologically
as we head to the official start of summer on June 21, 2019 with the Summer
Solstice. On June 14, 2019, Mars in 19
degrees of Cancer is opposing Saturn in 19 degrees of Capricorn. This is not a fun or particularly pleasant aspect
to deal with, folks. Mars is all about
assertion and movement, while Saturn is the planet that brings delays,
blockages of energy and disappointments.
When these two planets collide in such a challenging aspect, frustration
is the order of the day. It is literally
an uphill battle to get what you want and the effects of this aspect will be
felt for about a week. Mars is not
particularly strong in Cancer, so we may find that we assert ourselves and act
out angrily where we are feeling vulnerable.
Saturn is urging us to be patient and disciplined in order to achieve
our desires, which is not exactly what anyone wants to hear. But patience and self-discipline are
necessary to prepare for the long haul and stay the course. Mars will be exactly conjunct my midheaven,
so this should be interesting…
On Father’s Day, June, 16, 2019, we have the second of
three Jupiter Neptune squares this year.
This first one occurred on January 13, 2019 and the next one will occur
on September 16, 2019. Jupiter in
Sagittarius squaring Neptune in Pisces is a prevailing theme for 2019, as the
effects of this aspect will be felt until October 2019. This second square features Jupiter
retrograde in 18 degrees of Sagittarius and Neptune slowing down to station
retrograde on June 21, 2019. Jupiter and
Neptune are both considered to be very spiritual planets, and this aspect can
manifest as a test of faith and a fantasy alert. They are both in mutable signs and can create
an aura of optimism and idealism because they represent very expansive
energy. Jupiter really wants expansion
and growth, but when it squares Neptune it can lead to confusion, disillusionment,
over idealism, deception and judgement that is downright fuzzy. We also need to be mindful of the tendency to
procrastinate with this aspect. Neptune
has been on the receiving end of some pretty challenging aspects lately,
including a square from the Gemini sun on June 9, 2019, when I tweeted:
This Jupiter Neptune square is setting the stage for the following day, June 17, 2019, when we have a full moon in 25 degrees of Sagittarius. Full moons represent a culmination of efforts and reveal truths. With a full moon in Sagittarius, these truths could very well involve legal issues. And there is a theme of expansion, since the ruler of this full moon in Sagittarius is Jupiter. This full moon is likely to trigger some trust issues and a sensitivity to risk-taking. Sagittarius does love adventure. But make no bones about it, the Jupiter Neptune square of the previous day is also contributing to increased sensitivity on this full moon. Full moons are always emotional times, but with Neptune in the mix, the sensitivity could be off the charts.We have major themes of escapism, confusion, low energy and fogginess today with Gemini sun squaring Neptune in Pisces. Neptune does cut us some slack, however, on June 18, 2019,
when it receives a supportive sextile from Saturn in Capricorn. Saturn is the realist and a stabilizing influence
to Neptune in Pisces. It will provide us
with the opportunity to make our dreams a reality.
But Mars in Cancer is not through stirring the pot. On June 19, 2019, Mars in 22 degrees of
Cancer is opposing Pluto in 22 degrees of Capricorn. How can we forget that Saturn and Pluto are
traveling together in Capricorn for their big conjunction in January 2020? We can expect themes of focused will,
assertion and force to emerge when Mars opposes Pluto. But Mars is in a somewhat weakened state in
the sign of Cancer, so there is a chance that some of this dark energy may be
mitigated.
Mars will be in 20-24 degrees of Cancer from June 20, 2019
through June 23, 2019. In addition to
opposing Pluto in Capricorn, it will also be conjuncting Mercury in Cancer and
the north node in Cancer. If you have
any planets in 18-24 degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and
Capricorn, you will feel stirred up to take some kind of action during this
period. Be mindful that our minds will
be quick and emotionally driven at this time, so temper yourself. It may be
wise to breathe and think first before saying something we might later regret.
