The Month of June Ends with Mars Entering Gemini, a Full Moon in Capricorn, Mercury Retrograde in Cancer and Jupiter Moving into Leo

 

The fast pace momentum that has prevailed this month is continuing to the very end. On June 28, Mars enters Gemini until August 11 for the first time the summer of 2024. Our motivation is geared towards being more social, communicating and learning.  We are not as focused as we were when Mars was in the fixed earth sign of Taurus.  It's a simple fact that Gemini is mutable air so it can literally be all over the place.  It's easier to become scattered.  Minds are racing, there can be information overload, and anxiety can run rampant.  We want variety as diversity is very appealing to us.  We might also experience difficulty making decisions.  Multitasking is predominant.  Mental stimulation is a big turn-on in relationships now.

On the following day, June 29 we have two major astrological events.  First off, Mercury stations retrograde in 26 degrees of Cancer at 1:36 p.m.  Mercury is retrograde until July 23, when it goes direct in 16 degrees of Cancer.  We will be reassessing how we communicate our feelings and difficult conversations can occur, especially in families.  Mark my words, this will be a very emotional Mercury retrograde.  We can also be prone to acting passive-aggressive, as Cancer tends to be very self-protective.  But we can look forward to a day of clarity on July 12 when the Sun and Mercury are cazimi or conjunct in 20 degrees of Cancer.  Important insights can arrive from this Mercury retrograde.

There is a Full Moon in 8 degrees of Capricorn at 7:57 p.m. on June 29.  It is sometimes referred to as the Strawberry Moon because it occurs at the time of year when strawberries ripen.  The Full Moon in Capricorn highlights the pull between our private life and public professional life. This Full Moon is squaring Neptune in 4 degrees of Aries, which can trigger the issue of boundaries and confusion.  Neptune's involvement can also bring some type of water damage. The Moon is also widely squaring Saturn in 14 degrees of Aries, so  other strong themes with this Full Moon in Capricorn include fear, anxiety and ending a karmic cycle of boundaries.  Responsibilities will factor in and we might be required to step up.  Old wounds could be resurfacing for conversations, especially with Mercury going retrograde in Cancer on this Full Moon.  It can feel like a particularly harsh Full Moon (it is ruled by Saturn, after all), but it can help us to break cycles that deal with family issues.  Our spiritual intuition can be heightened on this day.  One bright spot of this Full Moon (or the saving grace aspect, as I like to call it) is the trine between Venus in Leo and Saturn in Aries.  This can be quite beneficial for finances.  Jupiter in 29 degrees of Cancer (that good old anaretic degree) is also conjunct Mercury in 26 degrees of Cancer, which can spark some mental optimism and curiosity.  We are thinking big as communication is heavily emphasized.  Just be mindful that the shadow side of this conjunction is a tendency towards mental overload, exaggeration and over-committing. The Full Moon is exactly conjunct my North Node in my 3rd house, so I know that I am in for some major conversations and responsibilities.  Anyone who has planets in the early degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will really feel the emotional intensity of this Full Moon.  But just remember it can lead to initiating some major changes in our lives.

On June 30, Jupiter enters the fixed fire sign of Leo until July 26, 2027.  The last time Jupiter was in Leo was from July 16, 2014 through August 11, 2015.  Jupiter in Leo loves to expand our creativity, self-expression, leadership ability and desire for fun.  It's great for romance and we are more willing to take risks.  We are up for living large, being more generous and taking center stage.  Jupiter in Leo is moving into a trine with Neptune in Aries which will be exact on July 20, bringing us luck and optimism that blends with imagination and spirituality.  But Jupiter in Leo will also be opposing Pluto in Aquarius on that day, which can lead to some leadership and entitlement issues.  The Jupiter in Leo transit should be enjoyable for everyone, if we can be mindful of its pitfalls: arrogance, ego amplification and a desire for excessive attention. Otherwise, enjoy the ride.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Fireworks Erupt on July 4 when Venus and Uranus Meet up in Taurus Before Entering Gemini, Neptune Goes Retrograde in Aries and a Full Moon in Capricorn on July 10

 

Venus and Uranus are conjunct in 29 degrees (yes, the anaretic last degree) of Taurus on July 4 at 8:45 a.m.  Themes of sudden changes and excitement with love and/or money are running rampant.  Venus rules Taurus and is very happy there while Uranus is distinctly uncomfortable there. This promises to be an exciting day, to say the least.  Venus moves into Gemini at 11:31 a.m. on that day and remains in Gemini until July 30.

When Venus in Gemini, love has a more fun-loving, lighthearted and flirtatious vibe.  We can find ourselves craving variety and spontaneity.  If we are single, we could literally be torn between two lovers.  Venus in Gemini also has an intellectual edge to it, so we could find ourselves attracted to someone's mind.  All in all, Venus in Gemini favors socializing, meeting new friends and partying.  Friends could become lovers during this time and we could develop quite the spendthrift attitude towards money this month.

Neptune stations retrograde in 2 degrees of Aries on July 4 at 5:34 p.m. until December 10, when it goes direct in 29 degrees of Pisces.  Neptune will re-enter Pisces for its unfinished business on October 22.  Neptune retrograde can be a very subtle transit.  It can actually help to fade away some illusions and help us to reevaluate our dreams while deepening our spirituality.

Uranus enters Gemini on July 7 but it's a teaser of what's to come in the next seven years because Uranus will station retrograde in 1 degree of Gemini on September 6 and move back into Taurus on November 7.  Uranus will be retrograde until February 3, 2026 when it stations direct in 27 degrees of Taurus.  Then Uranus will be in Gemini from April 25, 2026 through May 22, 2033.

When Uranus is in Gemini, we can anticipate disruption and sudden changes in how we think, communicate and travel short distances.  Uranus is much happier in the mutable air sign of Gemini than it was in the fixed earth sign of Taurus.  But Uranus in Gemini is also associated with wars and conflicts.  The United States of America experienced the Revolutionary War during its run from 1774-1778; its own Civil War when Uranus was in Gemini from 1858-1865 and got involved in World War II during the last transit of Uranus in Gemini from 1941-1949.  Uranus has an 84-year cycle.  And the last time Uranus was in Gemini it dipped back into Taurus from early October 1941 through May 1942.  It is commonly thought that this particular transit of Uranus in Taurus (1934-1941) was associated with the rise of dictators around the world.  It did lead to World War II.  There will undoubtedly be even more rapid technological advancements this time around with Uranus in Gemini too.

On July 10, we have a Full Moon in 18 degrees of Capricorn that can signal some movement towards achieving our goals.  I know, most people get rather freaked out with a Full Moon, especially one opposing the Sun in sensitive water sign of Cancer that the Moon rules.  There could very well be some big reveals on this Full Moon, especially on the heels of Uranus moving into Gemini on July 7.  But this Full Moon in Capricorn is forming a beneficial trine with Mars in 13 degrees of Virgo, which can give us a boost in terms of our actions bearing fruit.  The Full Moon in Capricorn quite literally represents a crossroads in our journey because it is also in harmony with the South Node of the Moon in 20 degrees of Virgo courtesy of a beneficial trine, helping us to break free of our bondage from the past and forming a supportive sextile to the North Node of the Moon in 20 degrees of Pisces.  We could very well be presented with some opportunities to move forward...

Mars Enters Gemini, a Second Full Moon in Capricorn and Mercury Enters Virgo

 

Well, we have had quite a wild ride this past week and it doesn't look like it is ending any time soon.  On July 15, we had the Mars-Uranus in conjunction in Taurus, when I posted:

Today is the big conjunction between Mars and Uranus in 26 degrees of Taurus. We can expect even more disruptive events as the motivation for change increases. And we can’t ignore the conjunction to Algol which raises the potential for violence. Exercise caution. #astrology

Mars is on the move again.  On July 20, it moves into the mutable air sign of Gemini, where it resides until September 4.  When Mars is in Gemini, we are dealing with mentally stimulating energy and a desire for variety and intellectual conversations.  We are more inclined to act on ideas.  It is prime time for networking, but we are also prone to speaking abruptly with a quick wit and temper.  Independent thinking rules.  Mars in Gemini will be conjunct Jupiter in 16 degrees of Gemini on August 14, which is extremely favorable for starting projects that require initiative and courage.   But Mars in Gemini will be squaring Saturn in 17 degrees of Pisces on August 16, which can add to the frustration level and cause problems with authority figures.

But we also have a second Full Moon in 29 degrees of Capricorn on July 21 that prominently features Mars in Gemini.  Mars in Gemini will be trining Pluto in 0 degrees of Aquarius.  This is bound to provide a surge of energy for pursuing our goals and passions. The first Full Moon in Capricorn occurred on June 21 and that was in 1 degree of Capricorn.  Whatever issues we were facing back then could see some resolution or closure.  But this Full Moon in 29 degrees of Capricorn is conjunct retrograde Pluto in 0 degrees of Aquarius and this is big.  It could expose some uncomfortable truths as unprocessed pain surfaces.  A Full Moon in 29 degrees is the anaretic degree and it could quite literally be the breaking point. All I can tell you is that anyone who has planets in the late degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will experience an intense time, as will anyone who has planets in the early degrees of the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius.  Once again, I am right in the line of fire on this one with my Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer and Neptune in Libra.  And I have Mercury in 0 degrees of Scorpio, which will undoubtedly take some hits from Mars and Pluto.  This should be interesting...

What else is happening on this Full Moon?  Mercury in Libra is squaring Uranus in 26 degrees of Taurus.  This will add more anxiety, sudden changes and the potential for upsetting news.  The Sun in Cancer is trining Neptune in 29 degrees of Pisces on the Full Moon as well, which can enhance our spirituality, compassion and sense of idealism.  This means that the Moon in Capricorn is forming a supportive sextile to Neptune in Pisces, which will heighten our sensitivity, emotions and creative abilities.  Meditation can be very helpful and illuminating on this Full Moon. Finally, we have Venus in Leo forming a supportive sextile to Jupiter in 12 degrees of Gemini.  This can bring growth and good fortune.  I am pretty happy about this particular aspect because Jupiter is two degrees away from my Moon.  It's always nice when the Benefics (as Venus and Jupiter are frequently called) are getting along nicely. Just be careful not to overdo it, as this tends to be a very social aspect and we could be inclined to indulge in excessive behavior.

There are more changes in store for us on July 22 when the Sun moves into the fixed fire sign of Leo.  The Sun rules Leo, so it is in its happy place. When the Sun is in Leo, we are more optimistic, energetic and enthusiastic.  Our focus shifts to playing and strutting our stuff, as we want to shine brightly.  Just be mindful not to get too self-centered or vain because that is the shadow side of Leo. But the Sun in Leo will be opposing Pluto in Aquarius on July 23, which could play out as some form of crisis involving control issues, manipulation, jealousy or stubbornness in relationships. There is an inherent danger of a bruised ego occurring while this aspect is in play.

Mercury is changing signs too.  On July 25 it enters Virgo for a rather extended stay because we have another Mercury retrograde coming up on August. This Mercury retrograde starts in 4 degrees of Virgo on August 5 but winds up back in Leo on August 15.  It will station direct in 21 degrees of Leo on August 28, but won't get back into Virgo until September 9, where it stays until September 26.  Mercury rules Virgo, so it is pretty comfortable there. When Mercury is in Virgo,  we have more resources at our disposal for analyzing, focusing on details and problem-solving.  It's also a great time to get to the root of the matters with health problems because Virgo is associated with healing.  The shadow side of Mercury in Virgo is a tendency to be too critical, so be mindful of that and we should all survive.

The First of Two Full Moons in Capricorn This Summer

 

We have our first Full Moon in 1 degree of Capricorn on June 21, only one day after the Sun entered the sign of Cancer.  The second one happens on July 21 in 29 degrees of Capricorn.  There is a strong emphasis on cardinal energy now as Gemini season is in our rearview mirror.  Venus and Mercury sailed into Cancer on June 17. Only Jupiter remains in Gemini until June 2025.  

With the Sun in Cancer and the Moon in Capricorn on June 21, we could be dealing with some harsh truths about family or relationships.  Our home and work lives could be seriously out of whack and need be to balanced.  Cancer represents our comfort zone while Capricorn is associated with our aspirational goals.  There will be a strong focus on our career and reputation while security, both emotional and material, is a major theme.  Somehow we need to integrate our roots (Cancer) with where we are going (Capricorn).  This is not always easy.  I can certainly attest to this as my South Node of the Moon is in Cancer while my North Node is in Capricorn.  My experience has always been that falling back on your South Node comes easily because it is second nature, while working that North Node is quite literally stretching out of your comfort zone.  It means boldly going where we have never been and we don't know how to do it, but it is well worth the effort.

The fact that we have two Full Moons in Capricorn this year gives us two chances to get things right.  Whatever issues come up for us during this Full Moon will come full circle in a month when we have the second Full Moon in 29 degrees of Capricorn on July 21.  This Full Moon will be in the anaretic degree, which can indicate a crisis-oriented point.  It would be an understatement to say it is critical, but it can also be a strengthening influence. We might find ourselves ruminating for the next month before we make a major decision.  For me personally, the first Full Moon in Capricorn falls in my 3rd house and the second one is in my 4th house.

What else is going on astrologically with this Full Moon? Mercury in Cancer is forming a supportive sextile to Mars in 9 degrees of Taurus.  This is actually quite positive, as we should find ourselves driven to succeed with a strong sense of purpose and initiative.  This certainly feeds the vibe of a Capricorn Full Moon.  Don't forget that Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, which loves to be responsible and achieve great things.  Mercury sextiling Mars will also speed up our mind and reflexes.  Full Moons are also known for providing big reveals, so don't be surprised if there are major news stories.

The Sun in Cancer will be inconjunct Pluto in Aquarius on June 22, so we are not out of the woods yet in terms of the effects of this Full Moon.  Intensity and pressure are likely.  An event could occur that threatens our sense of power and we could be tempted to retaliate by engaging in controlling or manipulative behavior.  The most constructive way to deal with whatever crisis manifests is to let go and surrender to a Higher Power.  Whenever Pluto is in the mix, transformation is the name of the game.  Try to transform by not letting your ego get the better of you.  I know this is easier said than done.  The bottom line is that an inconjunct aspect always requires some kind of adjustment.

On June 26, Mercury in Cancer will be trining Saturn in 19 degrees of Pisces.  This aspect is very beneficial for concentrated efforts and attention to detail.  Our powers of decision-making will be strong and business dealings should flow smoothly.  We can feel confident about signing contracts under the auspices of this aspect.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Neptune Stations Retrograde, Venus Squares Uranus and a Full Moon in Capricorn

 

Neptune in Pisces is joining Saturn in Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn at the retrograde party on June 30.  It stations retrograde in 27 degrees of Pisces and will station direct in 24 degrees of Pisces on December 6, 2023. Neptune is the planet associated with spirituality, creativity, addiction, redemption, escapism and disillusionment.  When it is retrograde, it actually might be easier for many of us to pierce the veil of illusion and see the truth more clearly.  We seem to have no problem ignoring reality when Neptune is direct, ironically.  Neptune is also in the third decan, which is the Scorpio decan.  This simply means that we are more psychic, emotional and in a better place to transform our creativity and eliminate negative thinking.  It is also represents a fabulous opportunity to engage in some self-care.  Bring it on, I say!

I am a Scorpio and this Neptune retrograde transit will be trining my Venus and Ceres in Scorpio as well as my Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer. So I have my own Grand Trine in Water in play for the next few months. If you have any planets in the late degrees of the water signs, you too can benefit greatly from this Neptune retrograde.

Neptune is a very slow-moving planet and the last time it was in Pisces was from 1847 through 1861.  Neptune was discovered in 1846.  Many changes occurred during this period: the United States entered the Civil War as the issue of slavery tore the country apart, photography became more mainstream and popular and chloroform was used as anesthesia for Queen Victoria when she gave birth to her children in 1853 and 1857.  It was also used for dental procedures.  Neptune entered Pisces in April 2011 and will leave Pisces in 2026.  I think it is fair to say that we will continue to see shifts in creativity, healing, spirituality and idealism.

We also have Mercury in Cancer trining Saturn in 7 degrees of Pisces on June 30.  This transit will help us get organized and makes it easier for us to pay attention to details. It favors making commitments, signing contracts and taking care of family matters.  Practical results can be obtained if we make the effort now.

Venus in Leo is starting to slow down for its own upcoming retrograde on July 22.Venus actually entered its retrograde shadow on June 19.  Venus will station retrograde in 28 degrees of Leo on June 22 and will remain retrograde until September 3 when it stations direct in 12 degrees of Leo.  But on July 2, Venus in Leo will be squaring Uranus in 21 degrees of Taurus.  On June 26, Mars in Leo squared Uranus in Taurus.  On that day I tweeted:

Mars and Venus have been dancing together in Leo but they are starting to separate and Mars will enter Virgo on July 10.  When Venus in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus, we can anticipate unexpected changes and directions in love and finances. We could be feeling restless to have our desires met.  It's possible to meet someone new, but I wouldn't count on it lasting given the nature of Uranus.  But it certainly can wake us up.

The last time Venus was retrograde in Leo was from July 31 through September 6, 2015.  I encourage you to reflect back on that period and see if anything resonates for you.  Love, finances and values will be entering a period of reassessment for all of us.  During that time, I offered a Venus Retrograde reading which was quite popular.  I have decided to offer it again this year and it will be available from now through August for $30.  Just email me at lindasim54@gmail.com or DM me on Twitter to request the Venus Retrograde reading.  I will look at where Venus is transiting your natal and progressed charts during its retrograde period. It could be hitting some sensitive spots and it always helps to be prepared for what is coming.

On July 3, we have a Super Full Moon in 11 degrees of Capricorn.  The Moon will be very close to the earth and highly visible. The Moon will look very big.  Emotions will come to a head regarding issues of power and government.  This Full Moon can indeed shine a light on control issues.  Capricorn is a sign that likes to achieve and on this day, the Moon in Capricorn will be trining Jupiter in 9 degrees of Taurus, affording us the opportunity to build for the future. The Moon is also forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in 7 degrees of Pisces, enhancing the theme of responsibility in a good way.  If you have opportunities present themselves to you, by all means act on them.  The most challenging piece of this Full Moon, aside from its opposition to the Sun in Cancer, is that the Moon also opposes Mercury in Cancer.  This is where the angry words could come up. And the Moon in Capricorn is squaring Chiron in 19 degrees of Aries, which can trigger old wounds.  The bottom line is that we have a lot of cardinal energy at play here with the Sun and Mercury in Cancer, Moon in Capricorn and Chiron in Aries.  Cardinal planets love to initiate action, so this should prove to be a high energy day.  And on July 4, the Moon in Capricorn will be conjunct Pluto in 29 degrees of Capricorn, which can add another layer of compulsion or obsession.
