A Super Full Moon in Taurus, Saturn Stations Direct in Pisces, Pluto Enters Aquarius and the Sun Moves into Sagittarius

 

Do we ever have a hectic week coming up astrologically!  It starts on November 15 with a Super Full Moon in 24 degrees of Taurus that is conjunct Uranus in 25 degrees of Taurus.  This alone has a wild card vibe.  You literally never know what Uranus is going to do but it is a given that there will be a strong desire for change and freedom. The Sun is in Scorpio and the Moon is in Taurus, so there could be major reveals about financial dealings. The Full Moon is also forming a supportive sextile to Neptune in 27 degrees of Pisces, which ramps up our sensitivity, intuition and psychic abilities.  This is a beneficial aspect for creativity and meditation.  

The Moon in Taurus will also be trining Pluto in 29 degrees of Capricorn.  This is yet another aspect that increases our emotional sensitivity and psychic perception.  We can literally be transformed by our intense emotional reactions.  If you have any planets in 22-26 degrees of the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, I guarantee that you will be feeling the effects of this Full Moon.  I have my natal Venus in 24 degrees of Scorpio in my 2nd house and my Pluto in 26 degrees of Leo in my 11th house, so I know that it will be intense for me.

Saturn also stations direct in 12 degrees of Pisces on November 15.  It has been retrograde since June 29, 2024 when it stationed retrograde in 19 degrees of Pisces.  It's finally time for a reality check, especially if you have planets between 10-15 degrees of the mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.  Whenever a planet stations, either retrograde or direct, its influence is much stronger.  Saturn stationing direct in Pisces can call upon us to move past the victim/savior roles in our lives and set some clear boundaries.  And it can help remove whatever obstacles we have been dealing with since it stationed retrograde.  I have my natal Moon in 14 degrees of Gemini, so once again I am in the fray...

On November 16, the Sun in Scorpio is opposing Uranus in Taurus.  The urge for freedom and change continues, but it can also generate some anxiety about the sudden upheavals that have no doubt been occurring. It will definitely be another unsettling day.

Pluto enters Aquarius until March 2043 on November 19.  There is no more backtracking into Capricorn like last year; Pluto won't return to Capricorn for about 250 years.   I know that a lot of people have been looking forward to Pluto being in Aquarius and giving power to the people, but I was really struck by what astrologer Armand Diaz had to say about how ugly it can be when Pluto enters a new sign. Let's face it, Pluto was in Aquarius during the French Revolution and that was not a pretty sight.  It was downright violent in its quest for freedom. Pluto in Aquarius will bring transformation in the collective through humanitarian movements and technology, but there can definitely be an underbelly to it.  I wouldn't be surprised if there was some violence as people seek more freedom. We need to be prepared for some growing pains. Artificial Intelligence can inflict damage in addition to helping us.  I have a Cardinal T-square in my chart in the late degrees (26-29), so while I am breathing a sigh of relief that they will no longer be getting hit, I am fully aware that Pluto in Aquarius starts off by squaring my Mercury in 0 degrees of Scorpio before it squares the rest of my Scorpio planets: Pallas, Saturn, Black Moon Lilith, Venus and Ceres.   And midway through its transit of Aquarius, Pluto will conjunct my Mars in my 4th house. Will I survive it? Or will transiting Pluto opposing my natal Pluto in Leo bring even more drama than I can handle?  Fortunately Pluto works slowly so I have time to figure it out and adapt.

On a much lighter note, the Sun moves into Sagittarius on November 21. We will be transitioning from the intensity of fixed water (Scorpio) to mutable fire. There will be a shift from intimate connections to a deepening awareness of the big picture.  It is time to nurture our faith, hope and vision for the future. Feel free to embrace learning and travel as we expand our consciousness.  Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, so enjoy the refreshing change.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. Mars and Mercury Heat Up in Libra and Saturn Stations Direct in Aquarius

 

As promised, the month of October is bringing a great deal of planetary action to the table.  Pluto stationed direct on October 6 with the New Moon in Libra and the New Moon conjuncted Mars in Libra as well.  On that day I tweeted:

But Mars in Libra is by no means done being proactive.  On October 8, the Sun and Mars are exactly conjunct in 15 degrees of Libra.  How does this play out?  This is a very energizing vibe but it is also impulsive and headstrong.  It favors taking action and doing things.  So if you didn’t plant some seeds on the New Moon of October 6, you still have a chance to do so now.  This aspect is one degree away from my Libra Ascendant, so I am sure I will be pretty active.4

On the following day, October 9, the Sun and Mercury are conjunct in 16 degrees of Libra.  Look for a strong urge to get your message across to others.  It is also common with this aspect for people to think their opinions are right, but it can be challenging energy.  It’s definitely forward motion, but it can feel pretty intense.  Just giving you a heads up…

Saturn finally stations direct in 6 degrees of Aquarius on October 10.  Saturn has been retrograde since May 23, when it stationed retrograde in 13 degrees of Aquarius.  Back then it was one degree away from my natal Mars in Aquarius in my 4^th house.  When Saturn was retrograde, it brought even more limitations, restrictions, anxiety and fear.  Saturn is also about responsibility, so we probably had plenty of time to get in touch with those areas of life where we need to act responsibly.  Saturn moving in direct motion supports the process of shedding things that are no longer working for us in the real world.  It serves as a reality check and asks us how willing we are to work for our goals.  The time has come to build a solid foundation in whatever area of life Saturn is transiting.  Saturn has a bad rep as the harsh taskmaster, but it also teaches us and rewards us for our hard work.  We just have to accept the fact that as a teacher, tests are going to be part of the deal. As I have mentioned previously, whenever a planet stations retrograde or direct, its power is magnified for about five days before and after the date of the actual station.  So many of you probably felts its influence on the New Moon in Libra on the 6^th and will continue to feel it through the 15^th of October.  Saturn will be in 11 degrees of Aquarius by the end of 2021 and will be back in 13 degrees of Aquarius in mid-January 2022, so expect some of the issues you were dealing with in May to resurface.

We have one more aspect of importance on October 10.  Venus in Sagittarius is exactly conjunct the South Node in 2 degrees of Sagittarius.  Venus moved into Sagittarius on October 7.  Since the South Node pertains to the past, this aspect has a strong theme of release.  If you have been putting up with something that no longer serves your highest good this is a good day to ask someone for what you need.  Venus in Sagittarius makes it more probable that someone will be more willing to accommodate your request because Venus in Sagittarius is in mutable fire and less controlling than the fixed water sign of Venus in Scorpio.  I can say this in all fairness and honesty because I have Venus in Scorpio. And whenever the South Node is involved, there can be health issues cropping up, so be sure to get any symptoms checked out pronto.  I will never forget that in July 2011 there was a Solar Eclipse in Cancer that was conjunct my South Node and I was worried.  Sure enough, three months later I hurt my back and suffered a painful case of sciatica with a bulging disc.  I am sure it was karmic and I couldn’t have prevented it, but I did take immediate action to relieve my pain and it led me to acupuncture.

September Ushers in a Period of Progress as Mercury Enters Virgo and Saturn Stations Direct

Prepare to get unstuck in the month of September.  I know that many people, myself included, have felt the palpable frustration of feeling stuck this summer.  A huge reason for this malaise was the retrograde party that was in effect during the summer.  Mars retrograde certainly didn’t help matters, either.  But Mars stationed direct on August 27, 2018, inspiring me to tweet:

August has been a really difficult month with Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Pluto, Uranus, Neptune and Chiron retrograde, a powerful solar eclipse in Leo on August 11^th and an emotionally charged full moon in Pisces on August 26^th.  And then were the deaths of Aretha Franklin, John McCain and Neil Simon.  It has been a real clearing process.  August is always a difficult month for me personally because it marks the deaths of my mother and brother, but this year death seemed to be a major theme.  But I keep reminding myself that rebirth follows death and I think that is something we all need to remember. Personally, I will be thrilled when the month of August is over.  Enough already, I say.

Mars stationed direct in 28 degrees of Capricorn on August 27, 2018.  It will remain in the sign of Capricorn until September 10, 2018 when it re-enters Aquarius.  While Mars is still in Capricorn, I urge everyone to take responsibility for launching your goals.  Mars in Capricorn imbues us with a sense of needing to take things seriously and Capricorn is definitely renowned for its responsible nature.

Communications start to improve on September 5, 2018 when Mercury enters its home sign of Virgo where it remains until September 21, 2018.  Mercury rules both Virgo and Gemini, so it is very comfortable there.  The transit of Mercury in Virgo will add a precision to our speech, thought and process.  Our minds will be as sharp as a tack as we find ourselves to communicate more efficiently, focus on details more easily and make practical decisions.  This can be a very productive time so make the most of it.  The only downside of Mercury in Virgo is a tendency to be too critical.  If we are mindful of that, we will reap the benefits of the Mercury in Virgo transit.

On the following day, September 6, 2018, Saturn will station direct in 2 degrees of Capricorn.  Saturn has been retrograde since April 17, 2018, so this will definitely be a welcome change. Saturn inherently likes to test our patience and discipline, but when it is retrograde, that energy is internalized and the testing process feels even more frustrating.  And having Saturn and Mars retrograde was truly a karmic testing period when progress seemed totally elusive and frustration and delays were a way of life.

Saturn in direct motion will provide us with the energy to move forward in a more organized and focused manner. We can start to take actions that will affect our destiny.  It is literally like a karmic weight has been lifted and we feel free to get on with making the changes that will positively impact our future.  If we have done the work of reviewing our goals and doing our due diligence, we face a time of reaping the rewards that we have so justly earned during this trying summer of retrogrades.  And on September 30, 2018, Pluto will station direct in 18 degrees of Capricorn.

So the good news about September 2018 is that we get a chance to make some headway and progress in our lives after months of feeling tied down.  As a tarot reader, I feel that the past few months have been symbolized by the Eight of Swords tarot card.

I am choosing to believe that September 2018 will usher in a period of mastery and change, which I think is best represented by the Magician card.

Here’s to putting the wisdom that we have attained in the past few months to constructive use as we cross the threshold of change.

Saturn Stations Direct and Venus Moves into Leo

Well, the August eclipses are over but there is still plenty of astrological action going on. Saturn in Sagittarius played a major role in the Solar Eclipse on August 21, 2017, inspiring me to tweet:

Saturn has been retrograde in Sagittarius since April 5, 2017, but on August 25, 2017, it will station direct in 21 degrees of Sagittarius to complete its transit of Sagittarius. Then Saturn enters its home sign of Capricorn on December 19, 2017.  Have you been feeling frustrated, anxious, restricted, limited and fearful for the past 4 ½ months? Blame it on Saturn Retrograde!  That is about to change because Saturn direct is giving us a green light to move forward.  Now we can actually deal with the fears and doubts that have been holding us back. How cool is that?  We may even wind up with a whole new perspective on any additional responsibilities we have had to assume in the past few months. Clearly, this will be a day of rejoicing and a cause for celebration. 

The moon is in Libra on August 25^th and it forms some very favorable aspects. For starters, it conjuncts Jupiter, which is bound to put us in a social, fun loving mood to start the weekend.  It also sextiles Mars in Leo and, TA-DA, it also sextiles Saturn in Sagittarius about 4 hours after Saturn stations direct. Hallelujah! Let’s get moving forward. If the recent eclipses didn’t shake you out of any ruts, complacency, or just feeling plain stuck, this astrological combo should get you moving.  I love it when Saturn plays nice with Mars and Jupiter. And this is due in large part to that peace and harmony loving Libra moon. Jupiter in Libra sextiling Saturn in Sagittarius should be a very favorable influence for hope and faith to align. It encourages manifesting an ideal and bringing more harmony and balance into our lives.

Venus gets in the act on the following day, August 26^th, when it moves into Leo. We will all notice the shift in love, values and finances when Venus transits the fun loving fire sign until September 19^th.  Venus in Leo brings more drama to love and finances for starters.  Venus in Leo brings fun, indulgence and demands.  It also enhances creativity and childlike enthusiasm but it does have a flip side of temper tantrums.  Competitiveness and excessive pride can also play out while Venus is transiting Leo.  Venus in Leo will draw attention to where you shine. For me, it starts in my 10^th house of career before moving into my 11^th house of friends, group associations and aspirations.

Venus transiting Leo is definitely an attention craving time as we seek adoration and admiration. It is a time of taking pride in love and can be very romantic. Leo is renowned for its generosity and excess, so some may wind up buying extravagant gifts for their loved ones during its transit. For my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule for a treatment or have difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing distance Reiki sessions for them.  I have a conversation with them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages.  I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
