March Starts off on a Lighter Note with Some Beneficial Assists from Jupiter, Venus and Chiron

 

The month of March is beginning with a much lighter vibration than February, which is a welcome change from the intensity of the past month.  On March 1, the Sun in Pisces forms a supportive sextile to Jupiter in 11 degrees of Taurus. This aspect is bound to generate feelings of optimism and attract good luck into our lives.  We feel happier and it will be easier to expand areas of our life (Jupiter loves to expand whatever it touches). The growth can be material or spiritual, or both if we are so inclined.  Our minds should be clearer and we can find ourselves attracting recognition and reaching our goals without all of the obstacles that have been hovering around us in February.  Make the most of this day and enjoy it.

Venus in Aquarius will also be sextiling Chiron in 17 degrees of Aries on March 1.  This aspect will present us with opportunities to work through wounds to our self-worth.  We can transform painful experiences through creative arts.  And we just might wind up having people drawn to us that help us heal.

On March 3, Venus in Aquarius gets a little edgier when it squares Uranus in 19 degrees of Taurus.  This can test the stability of love relationships with unexpected events or urges.  We might be craving more freedom and space, but don't resist the need for change.  As the old saying goes, it is futile to resist.  This aspect is not as bad as it sounds because Venus and Uranus are in mutual reception: Venus is in the Uranus-ruled sign of Aquarius and Uranus is in the Venus-ruled sign of Taurus.  So just be open to the change that is in the air...

Mercury in Pisces is sextiling Uranus in 19 degrees of Taurus on March 4 and this can bring exciting, positive news and stimulating conversations.  Our daily routines could change for the better and new insights are possible.  

We have more positive energy contributing to the healing theme on March 6 when Mars in Aquarius is sextiling Chiron in 17 degrees of Aries.  This aspect is brimming with potential to heal past wounds and overcome obstacles as we have the courage to confront with detachment.  Aquarius is noted for its ability to detach.  It's also possible for society to address some wounds on this day.  I love the fact that we are having so many sextiles this week because they present us with opportunities after the heaviness the recent conjunctions and squares have been dealing out to us.  The pace will pick up the following week with the New Moon and the approach of the first Lunar Eclipse in Libra on March 25, but more on that in later posts.  I encourage everyone to take advantage of this week's more benign aspects.  We should be feeling more social, gregarious, and ready for some pleasure in our lives.  The months of January and February have been quite intense, and this week is a welcome breather.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. A Super Full Moon in Aries and Mercury Enters Libra

 

Hang on folks, because we have a Super Full Moon in 6 degrees of Aries on September 29.  This is the 4th Super Moon in row because the Moon is so close to the earth.  While the Full Moon itself isn't making any major aspects to other planets, there is plenty of back story involved with the other planets.

For starters, a Full Moon in Aries is all about determination and wanting to create something new.  It is cardinal fire, don't forget that it craves action and is very dynamic.  It has a strong theme about me (Aries) vs. we (Libra). The Sun in Libra is objective while the Moon in Aries is subjective. The Moon in Aries is speedy, impatient and restless. This Full Moon will test us to find some balance between the self and others.  Full Moons typically represent endings, closure and completion.  This one has that theme emphasized because Mars in 21 degrees of Libra is conjunct the South Node of the Moon in 25 degrees of Libra and the South Node represents our past.  Mars in Libra generally wants to reach compromise, but it could drain the lunar energy of that Aries Moon. Mars conjunct the South Node can bring up power issues too because the Nodes of the Moon in Aries and Libra are squaring Pluto in 27 degrees of Capricorn. Mars in Libra was opposing Chiron in 18 degrees of Aries on September 24, which opened up old emotional wounds for healing but could have created some angry scenes.  Pluto in Capricorn squaring the Nodes indicates that massive changes are underway, and we have to decide if we want to be a victim or become empowered. I don't usually work with Eris, the goddess of discord, but the North Node in 25 degrees of Aries is conjunct Eris in 24 degrees of Aries, which can only bring anger and contentious vibes to the mix.  It bears repeating that the North Node in Aries wants action.  The Sun in 6 degrees of Libra is conjunct Pallas in 7 degrees of Libra, and this can be quite positive in terms of helping us with strategy and diplomacy.  Pallas is the asteroid associated with the wisdom of the female spirit, and its location in a chart depicts where you can figure things out with logic, reasoning and creative understanding. It also has a warrior like spirit.  

The main aspect in the back story of this Full Moon in Aries is the exact square between Venus in 22 degrees of Leo and Uranus in 22 degrees of Taurus.  This is the third time that this square has occurred: the first time was on July 2 in 21 degrees when both Venus and Uranus were direct and the second hit occurred on August 9 when Venus was retrograde and Uranus was direct in 22 degrees of their respective signs.  Now Venus is direct and Uranus is retrograde until January 26, 2024.  The bottom line with this aspect is that we can still be processing changes that have happened over the summer.  It is highly probable that many of us have experienced upheavals in relationships and finances.  I always say that it frequently takes us three times to get it right with an aspect.  Don't be surprised if you wind up needing more space and change in your relationships on this Full Moon. This is a very relationship-oriented Full Moon. Venus in Leo is also conjunct Juno, the asteroid associated with partnership, in 22 degrees of Leo.  I wouldn't be surprised if we heard about more break-ups with all of this emphasis on relationships.  

Mercury in 20 degrees of Virgo is also very active on this Full Moon.  It is opposing Neptune in 25 degrees of Pisces and this can manifest as disappointment or disillusionment.  Mercury is also trining Pluto in 27 degrees of Capricorn, which could serve to activate something that occurred on the New Moon in 21 degrees of Virgo on September 14.  But Mercury in Virgo is also trining Uranus in 22 degrees of Taurus and that can bring new ideas to the table.  

The effects of this Full Moon will also be in play on October 1 when Mars in 21 degrees of Libra is inconjunct Uranus in 22 degrees of Taurus. This is a very rebellious vibe with an attitude of don't tell me what to do or else.  There is a positive spin to this energy, though, because Mercury in Virgo, Uranus in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn are involved in a loose Grand Earth Trine, which can bring us new ideas pertaining to finance and health.  The themes of health and wealth are emphasized.  

If you have any planets in 27-29 degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, I guarantee that you will feel the intensity of this Full Moon in Aries because Pluto in Capricorn is squaring the Nodes of the Moon.

I am happy to report that as of September 30, Mercury in Virgo will clear its retrograde shadow.  On October 4, Mercury zips into the cardinal air sign of Libra until October 22.  When Mercury is in Libra, we are more diplomatic, fair, objective and rational.  Our communication is focused on attaining peace and harmony in relationships. It can be a welcome breath of fresh air after the recent Mercury retrograde and Full Moon in Aries. It is a perfect time to heal any rifts that have occurred. Just don't wind up being too nice to others or being indecisive because that is the shadow side of Mercury in Libra. Make the most of this peacekeeping transit.

Neptune Stations Retrograde, Venus Squares Uranus and a Full Moon in Capricorn

 

Neptune in Pisces is joining Saturn in Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn at the retrograde party on June 30.  It stations retrograde in 27 degrees of Pisces and will station direct in 24 degrees of Pisces on December 6, 2023. Neptune is the planet associated with spirituality, creativity, addiction, redemption, escapism and disillusionment.  When it is retrograde, it actually might be easier for many of us to pierce the veil of illusion and see the truth more clearly.  We seem to have no problem ignoring reality when Neptune is direct, ironically.  Neptune is also in the third decan, which is the Scorpio decan.  This simply means that we are more psychic, emotional and in a better place to transform our creativity and eliminate negative thinking.  It is also represents a fabulous opportunity to engage in some self-care.  Bring it on, I say!

I am a Scorpio and this Neptune retrograde transit will be trining my Venus and Ceres in Scorpio as well as my Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer. So I have my own Grand Trine in Water in play for the next few months. If you have any planets in the late degrees of the water signs, you too can benefit greatly from this Neptune retrograde.

Neptune is a very slow-moving planet and the last time it was in Pisces was from 1847 through 1861.  Neptune was discovered in 1846.  Many changes occurred during this period: the United States entered the Civil War as the issue of slavery tore the country apart, photography became more mainstream and popular and chloroform was used as anesthesia for Queen Victoria when she gave birth to her children in 1853 and 1857.  It was also used for dental procedures.  Neptune entered Pisces in April 2011 and will leave Pisces in 2026.  I think it is fair to say that we will continue to see shifts in creativity, healing, spirituality and idealism.

We also have Mercury in Cancer trining Saturn in 7 degrees of Pisces on June 30.  This transit will help us get organized and makes it easier for us to pay attention to details. It favors making commitments, signing contracts and taking care of family matters.  Practical results can be obtained if we make the effort now.

Venus in Leo is starting to slow down for its own upcoming retrograde on July 22.Venus actually entered its retrograde shadow on June 19.  Venus will station retrograde in 28 degrees of Leo on June 22 and will remain retrograde until September 3 when it stations direct in 12 degrees of Leo.  But on July 2, Venus in Leo will be squaring Uranus in 21 degrees of Taurus.  On June 26, Mars in Leo squared Uranus in Taurus.  On that day I tweeted:

Mars and Venus have been dancing together in Leo but they are starting to separate and Mars will enter Virgo on July 10.  When Venus in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus, we can anticipate unexpected changes and directions in love and finances. We could be feeling restless to have our desires met.  It's possible to meet someone new, but I wouldn't count on it lasting given the nature of Uranus.  But it certainly can wake us up.

The last time Venus was retrograde in Leo was from July 31 through September 6, 2015.  I encourage you to reflect back on that period and see if anything resonates for you.  Love, finances and values will be entering a period of reassessment for all of us.  During that time, I offered a Venus Retrograde reading which was quite popular.  I have decided to offer it again this year and it will be available from now through August for $30.  Just email me at lindasim54@gmail.com or DM me on Twitter to request the Venus Retrograde reading.  I will look at where Venus is transiting your natal and progressed charts during its retrograde period. It could be hitting some sensitive spots and it always helps to be prepared for what is coming.

On July 3, we have a Super Full Moon in 11 degrees of Capricorn.  The Moon will be very close to the earth and highly visible. The Moon will look very big.  Emotions will come to a head regarding issues of power and government.  This Full Moon can indeed shine a light on control issues.  Capricorn is a sign that likes to achieve and on this day, the Moon in Capricorn will be trining Jupiter in 9 degrees of Taurus, affording us the opportunity to build for the future. The Moon is also forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in 7 degrees of Pisces, enhancing the theme of responsibility in a good way.  If you have opportunities present themselves to you, by all means act on them.  The most challenging piece of this Full Moon, aside from its opposition to the Sun in Cancer, is that the Moon also opposes Mercury in Cancer.  This is where the angry words could come up. And the Moon in Capricorn is squaring Chiron in 19 degrees of Aries, which can trigger old wounds.  The bottom line is that we have a lot of cardinal energy at play here with the Sun and Mercury in Cancer, Moon in Capricorn and Chiron in Aries.  Cardinal planets love to initiate action, so this should prove to be a high energy day.  And on July 4, the Moon in Capricorn will be conjunct Pluto in 29 degrees of Capricorn, which can add another layer of compulsion or obsession.

My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. The Sun and Venus Stir Things Up and Mercury Goes Direct in Capricorn

 

It might be Friday the 13th, but there is one lucky aspect in play.  The Sun in Capricorn is forming a supportive sextile to Neptune in 23 degrees of Pisces.  This can be a time of imagination, creativity and intuition being off the charts.  It is a perfect opportunity to visualize your future and focus on making your dreams a reality.  It is also a time when we have more empathy and compassion for others, so make the most of this day to launch your weekend on a highly positive note.

Relationships could be facing some hiccups on January 14 when Venus in Aquarius squares Uranus in 14 degrees of Taurus.  Our sense of stability in our primary relationships might be challenged via unexpected events and/or desires.  We might feel an increased need for freedom and excitement that can lead us to experiment.  It can also play out in purchasing unusual items that prove to be impractical in the long run, so be careful with those credit cards.  Venus is right on my Mars in Aquarius in my 4th house, so I am trying to be prepared for this.  Venus in Aquarius is also squaring my Saturn in Scorpio and Uranus in Taurus is opposing my Saturn, so I am expecting some turbulence and restrictive influences on this day.

Mark your calendars for January 18 because that is the day that Mercury stations direct in 8 degrees of Capricorn after having been retrograde since December 29, 2022.  Mercury stationed retrograde right on my Chiron in 24 degrees of Capricorn in my 4th house and it will station direct right on my North Node in 8 degrees of Capricorn in my 3rd house.   This is indeed a day of rejoicing, because we can now see light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to misunderstandings, travel woes, and general miscommunication.  We can start to feel more productive as Mercury switches gears into forward motion in this cardinal earth sign.  It is literally a mental wake-up call from the slumber Mercury has been in since late December 2022.  Just remember that the day a planet stations intensifies its energy, so don't expect everything to return to normal on that day.  But it is definitely a step in the right direction and communication matters should start to improve in the coming days.  Mercury will officially be out of its retrograde shadow period on February 7 when it hits 24 degrees of Capricorn.

We have another very interesting aspect occurring on January 18.  The Sun and Pluto are conjunct in 28 degrees of Capricorn. This is a very dynamic and intense configuration.  It increases our personal power, but it can also lead to manipulative behavior, ego clashes and power struggles.  Paranoia is another potential manifestation of this energy.  But we can also choose to use this aspect to obtain deep psychological insights.  I suspect that with this aspect in my 4th house and still in a separating conjunction from my natal Chiron, that is probably how it will play out for me.

An Empowering Full Moon in Virgo and the Sun Enters Aries

 

Today, March 18 is the day of the Full Moon in 27 degrees of Virgo.  While this is not technically a Super Moon, it will prove to be a pretty powerful Full Moon given the current state of the world.  The Sun in Pisces and Moon in Virgo are signs associated with health and they can work together to heal the body and the soul.  But they can also generate confusion and clarity as we are forced to see things that we don't want to see.  Virgo loves to analyze and fix things.  It is definitely a time to take care of our health but also to release our need for perfectionism.

Full Moons are highly emotional times and this one is no exception.  I know that most people have been feeling its effects since earlier in the week.  On March 17 I tweeted:

What is going on with the astrological landscape of this Full Moon?  I think that we need to acknowledge the Grand Earth Trine involving the Moon in 27 degrees of Virgo, Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn and the North Node in 24 degrees of Taurus.  The North Node represents our collective soul path in life and what we should be striving to achieve.  Earth energy likes to get things done and with a Full Moon in Virgo we have a strong theme of spiritual and practical service to others.  Frankly, I can't think of a better time to act on this compassionate and spiritual vibe. This Full Moon is occurring in my 12th house trining my Chiron in Capricorn so I am all for doing whatever can be done to heal myself and others.

There is a theme of empowerment with this Full Moon because the Sun in Pisces is forming a supportive sextile to Pluto in Capricorn and the Moon is trining it.  With the Sun sextiling Pluto, we might find ourselves resurrecting an old interest or talent from the past and reclaiming it.  We can run with this energy to make it a time of empowerment for the people by putting our best intentions forward to serve the collective good.  The Sun and Neptune in 23 degrees of Pisces are also conjunct on the Full Moon, adding to the compassionate nature of this Full Moon. Mercury in 13 degrees of Pisces is conjunct Jupiter 18 degrees of Pisces on the Full Moon, which will provide a boost of creative energy that also benefits from the sextile to Uranus in 12 degrees of Taurus.

Uranus in Taurus isn't done stirring the pot with the Full Moon.  On March 19 Venus in 12 degrees of Aquarius is squaring Uranus in 12 degrees of Taurus.  This aspect can bring sudden romantic upsets or emotional breakups.  It's pretty volatile energy.  But it can also increase our interest in music and the arts, so it does have some perks.  On March 22 Mars in 12 degrees of Aquarius is taking its turn squaring Uranus in 12 degrees of Taurus.  These two planets are definitely not playing nicely in the sandbox and we can expect more emotional upsets, possibly more earthquakes and there is a clear and present danger of cyberattacks.

But on March 20 the Sun moves into Aries for the first day of Spring and the Astrological New Year.  It is officially International Astrology Day.  The Sun is leaving the mutable and highly emotional water sign of Pisces for the cardinal fire sign of Aries.  Our focus will shift to feeling more impulsive and craving action. We are enthusiastic, spontaneous, direct and motivated by the desire to conquer. It is a time to take action and let go of the past.  We have more courage to pursue our dreams, the ones that were cultivated when the Sun was in Pisces.
