A Strong Emphasis on Healing with a Virgo Full Moon

The month of February has been incredibly intense, but it is one of those rare months when there is not a full moon.  But we did have a pretty powerful solar eclipse last week on February 15, 2018 and the month of March will feature two full moons, just like in January.
The next full moon will occur on March 1, 2018 in 11 degrees of Virgo.  It will oppose not only the sun in Pisces, but also Neptune in Pisces. Virgo and Pisces are the signs most connected with healing and the healing theme is especially emphasized with Neptune in its home sign of Pisces.  I am talking about all kinds of healing – not just physical, but emotional and spiritual as well.  And we have Venus in Pisces, where it is exalted and Chiron in Pisces to boot.

This is pretty powerful stuff to say the least.  Chiron the Wounded Healer is in Pisces until April 17, 2018 and it is definitely making its presence known.  Chiron will be in 27 degrees of Pisces on the day of the full moon.  From February 21 through February 25, 2018 we are under the benevolent influence of the Venus Neptune conjunction in 13 degrees of Pisces, which was exact on February 21st.  On that day I tweeted:

I can attest to the fact that I felt this aspect very strongly, because it was squaring my natal moon in Gemini in my 8th house.  Despite the fact that it was forming a challenging square to my moon, I do believe that it has proved to be a very healing influence in my life by allowing me to feel more compassion for others during an emotionally challenging time in my personal life.

There is even more Piscean planetary buildup to this full moon. On February 25, 2018, Mercury and Neptune will be conjunct in Pisces as well.  This is a perfect time to release self-defeating attitudes and feelings of disillusionment.  Both of these planets form a supportive sextile to the asteroid Pallas Athena, the goddess of wisdom, in Taurus. This aspect gives an edge to use our intuitive insights practically.  And with my own natal Mercury Neptune conjunction in my 1st house, I can vouch for the power of those intuitive insights.

With all of this Piscean energy present, we still need to remember what the Virgo moon brings to the table.  Virgo is the sign of discernment and discrimination.  A Virgo full moon is perfect time to declutter not only our possessions, but our mind and emotions.  It is a wonderful opportunity to embark on a detoxing diet and take some mindfulness breaks.  The full moon in Virgo also features prominently in a Grand Trine in Earth with Pallas Athena in 15 degrees of Taurus and Saturn in 7 degrees of Capricorn.  Secrets are frequently unveiled on a full moon and with Neptune so prominently featured in this full moon, it could feel like a literal unveiling of mysteries.

There is also a great deal of mutable planetary energy involved in this full moon.  The moon is in Virgo, the sun and four other planets are in Pisces and Mars is in Sagittarius.  A mutable mix like this affords us the opportunity to be more adaptable to the changes and challenges that many of us are facing these days.  It is also pretty sweet that the sun and Neptune are conjunct in Pisces, bestowing us with divine inspiration.

Venus and Chiron are conjunct in Pisces during this full moon as well.  This means that we have a chance to let go of old wounds connected to love and release old emotions that no longer serve us.  It can also force us to reexamine any rescuer/victim roles that we play in relationships.  The shadow side of Pisces is the victim/martyr complex and the need to play a savior role in relationships.  Venus in 22 degrees of Pisces forms a favorable, flowing trine to Jupiter in 23 degrees of Scorpio which can really assist us in this process. Jupiter in Scorpio is starting to slow down for its annual retrograde period on March 8, 2018, so I urge you to make the most of Jupiter while it is still direct.  When Jupiter is retrograde from March 8th through July 10, 2018 we will be in an introspective period of integration of wisdom.  Jupiter will station direct in 13 degrees of Scorpio in July, so pay close attention to where these ten degrees of Scorpio fall in your chart.

If you are curious as to how all of the planetary changes, including eclipses, Saturn in Capricorn and Jupiter in Scorpio will be affecting you in 2018, please consider getting an astrological reading.  A transit reading might be just what you need right now to make the most of Jupiter in Scorpio.  Jupiter transits are all about taking advantage of opportunities and if you snooze you lose with Jupiter.  You have to be aware and strike while the iron is hot. Diving into Pisces Season

Mercury and the Sun are about to enter the sign of Pisces, joining Venus, Neptune and Chiron. I don’t know about you, but I am personally a bit exhausted from all of this Aquarius energy, especially the recent solar eclipse in 27 degrees of Aquarius. I know that change is inevitable, but the fact that the solar eclipse featured Uranus as a key player really added to the the theme of sudden change, as I tweeted on February 15, 2018:
Mercury enters Pisces on February 17th and the Sun enters Pisces on February 18th.  But before Mercury swims into Pisces on February 17, 2018, Mars in 13 degrees of Sagittarius will square Neptune in 13 degrees of Pisces, which will give us quite the double whammy in terms of the shadow side of Pisces.  Neptune rules Pisces, so this aspect will be intense. Mars squaring Neptune is a low energy aspect and it is prime time for suspicion, deceit, lies and scandals to emerge.  Laying low is probably the best course of action for dealing with the potentially devastating ramifications of this aspect. It has a strong theme of surrendering to a Higher Power and the Serenity Prayer will be very helpful.  This aspect is squaring my natal Gemini moon in the 8th house, so the theme of surrender is especially poignant.

Mercury will be in Pisces until March 6, 2018 and is considered to be in the sign of its fall. Venus may be exalted in Pisces, but Mercury not so much.  Mercury in Pisces is not strong because communication could get vague, fuzzy and nebulous. The thinking process with Mercury in Pisces is more emotional and therefore not very practical.  On the plus side, it does afford us the opportunity to access our intuition and imagination to a greater extent.  So for all you creative types, Mercury in Pisces can be very beneficial.

The Sun swims into Pisces on February 18, 2018 and there will be a marked energy shift.  Pisces is a water sign and is very emotional, so the vibe will be very different from the past month which was very frenetic and highly charged.  The major themes of the sun in Pisces are release, surrender, forgiveness and compassion.  Empathy is strong when the sun is in Pisces and selfless love abounds. A desire for daydreaming abounds and dreams, imagination, and heightened creativity flourish. But beware of the shadow side of Pisces, which involves feeling victimized, addiction or other forms of escapism.  Don’t fall into the martyr role, which is a natural fit for Pisces.  I prefer to embrace the redemptive power of Pisces and I think that is a good path to follow.

Pisces starts its transit through my 5th house and midway enters my 6th house.  So it will definitely start out on a creative high and then lend a more spiritual vibe to my daily routines, which is perfect for my Reiki work.

Venus Enters Pisces and a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius

\
.

Venus is on course to exit the Aquarius posse of planets that includes the sun, Mercury, the south node and Juno.  I don’t mean to rant on Aquarius (some of my favorite people are Aquarians), but with Jupiter in Scorpio as well as a recent moon in Scorpio, t has been a pretty turbulent mix.  Some of my most recent tweets in the past week reflect that energy:

Venus will enter the sign of Pisces on February 10, 2018 and will stay in its sign of exaltation until March 6, 2018.  Venus in Pisces favors creative energy, compassion and forgiveness. If you have planets in any of the water signs (Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio) you will definitely reap the benefits of this transit.  Venus in Pisces has the power to attract good things into our lives, especially in the areas of love and finances. As beautiful as the energy of Venus in Pisces is, there are some down sides to it. Venus in Pisces has an almost ethereal longing for something that is hard to define and almost impossible to satisfy.  And since the sign of Pisces is ruled by Neptune (where Neptune currently is), there can be a tendency towards escapism, delusion, addiction and victimization.  Borders and boundaries can get blurred. Just be aware of these potential pitfalls and channel the higher compassionate, redemptive side of Venus in Pisces and you should be fine.  Venus spends more than half of its Pisces transit in my 5th house, so I am eagerly anticipating tis transit.  It tends to fuel my creativity and generally put me in a better, more loving and compassionate mood.

But the really big astrological news in the coming week is the solar eclipse in 27 degrees of Aquarius on February 15, 2018, just one day after Valentine’s Day.  This eclipse has a lot of promising astrological energy going for it.  For starters, it will be sextiling Uranus in 25 degrees of Aries.  Eclipses always bring change and when an eclipse sextiles Uranus, it paves the way for positive change.  Sextiles support each other, which is a refreshing change from squares and oppositions.

The solar eclipse is also conjunct Mercury in 24 degrees of Aquarius.  Because a solar eclipse is like a new moon on steroids, the fact that both the sun and moon conjunct Mercury indicates that ideas and communication will be very important themes.  This eclipse also conjuncts Juno (aka the marriage asteroid) in 25 degrees of Aquarius, which further emphasizes the importance of relationships.  And the fact that it is one day after Valentine’s Day makes that a pretty sweet loving vibe.

The trickiest aspect of the solar eclipse is its square to Jupiter in 22 degrees of Scorpio.  Here we go again with that turbulent Scorpio/Aquarius energy.  Jupiter in Scorpio loves to expand whatever it touches, so it will require some discipline and moderation.  Squares to Jupiter are the least disruptive and this one is given a boost for personal growth and happiness due to the favorable, supportive sextile from Uranus in Aries.

Jupiter in 22 degrees of Scorpio will also be forming a sextile to Pluto in 20 degrees of Capricorn.  This is like the equivalent of hitting the mother lode in terms of supporting positive change, increased wealth, and personal and spiritual growth. Talk about mutual reception—Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio, which Jupiter is transiting until November 2018.  Se we have the opportunity to feel really empowered in terms of growth and expansion in our lives.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my readers, clients and Twitter followers who have reached out to me during this time of crisis regarding my husband’s health.  He is slowly making strides in his recovery and I am convinced that the prayers and healing wishes from all of you have contributed to his progress.  He still needs rehab, but he survived surgery.  This eclipse falls in his 11th house and is not nearly as challenging as the lunar eclipse of January 31st.  The eclipse opposes my Pluto in Leo in the 11th house and I am choosing to view this as a need to release any desire to control the outcome.  I know this is easier said than done.  I have been receiving a great deal of support and encouragement from friends, which I deeply appreciate.  And the opportunity to practice Reiki has provided a stream of healing that has flowed back to me during this stressful time.

Aquarius Season is in High Gear Following a Powerful Lunar Eclipse

.
The season of Aquarius is definitely in high gear and shows no time of slowing down any time soon.  The recent lunar eclipse on January 31, 2018 featured a lunar eclipse in 11 degrees of Leo opposing the Aquarius sun, inspiring me to tweet:

But Mercury joined the sun and Venus in Aquarius on January 31st, which triggered this tweet:
The recent eclipse and Mercury entering Aquarius have been intensely personal for me and demonstrated once again the power and truth of astrology.  On January 26th, transiting Pluto in Capricorn entered my 4th house of home, family and beginnings and ending in life while simultaneously opposing my Cancer midheaven.  On that day my husband called his doctor about some pain he was experiencing behind his eye.  My husband has a heart condition, so this was troubling.  His primary care physician recommended seeing his eye doctor, who thought it was an infection and prescribed some eye drops to be taken four times a day.  I was also using eye drops four times a day for my recent cataract surgery.  His pain seemed to go away until Sunday night when it returned with a vengeance and he began having trouble reading and saying words.  I urged him to go to the emergency room at the nearest hospital, but he was too stubborn to listen to me.  On Monday, January 29th, he was so disoriented at the follow up eye doctor appointment that the eye doctor called the emergency room at the nearest hospital to warn them we were on our way.  They ran tests and CAT scans and delivered the bad news that there was bleeding in the brain and that he needed to be moved to Massachusetts General Hospital where they had more experience in treating this condition..  There was strong suspicion of a stroke.

Of course, this occurred only two days before the eclipse and certainly falls under the influence of the eclipse. What was going on in his chart?  For starters, the eclipse occurred in his 5th house widely conjunct his Pluto in 4 degrees of Leo.  It was also squaring his natal Saturn in 9 degrees of Taurus in his first house as well as his natal Jupiter in 7 degrees of Taurus in his first house  It squared his Mercury in 14 degrees of Scorpio in his 7th house.  It made perfect sense that his speech was affected with the challenging square to his natal Mercury.  On January 31, 2018, the day of the eclipse, an MRI finally determined that it was definitely not a stroke.  Currently his neurological team suspects that it is a severe reaction to his blood thinning medication Coumadin.  His cardiologist has recommended a pacemaker due to his heart problems and further heart rate issues that occurred one morning in the hospital when his heart rate vacillated wildly.. He will undoubtedly require rehab and lots of speech therapy.

How did this affect my chart?  Well, this eclipse also squared my natal Saturn in 12 degrees of Scorpio in my 1st house and opposed my natal Mars in 14 degrees in my 4th house.  So, it played out with a major health crisis for the man in my life.  And Pluto will be opposing my midheaven through early December 2019, so these huge changes in my home life will play out for some time.  I am certainly a believer in astrology, even if I don’t always like the way it manifests.

What else will happen with this Aquarius sun?  On February 4, 2018, the sun will be forming a favorable trine with the Libra moon, which should be a boon for socializing and Super Bowl parties.  Thank heaven for small favors.

But on February 7, 2018, the Scorpio moon will be squaring the sun in 18 degrees of Aquarius and this aspect won’t be pretty. It will challenge us with a struggle between what we think we want (sun in Aquarius) and what needs to be released (moon in Scorpio).  This will be a time of emotional purging and transformation.

The challenging Aquarius/Scorpio energy will play out again on February 10, 2018 when the sun in 21 degrees of Aquarius squares Jupiter in 22 degrees of Scorpio.  This time the conflict will revolve around what you should be doing (the sun) versus the reasons why you want to play and procrastinate (Jupiter).  It should be interesting…

The past week of January also featured a very powerful conjunction between Mercury and Pluto in 19 degrees of Capricorn on January 24th, which inspired me to tweet:
