A Game Changing Full Moon in Leo Featuring Uranus in Taurus Calling the Shots

Can you feel the change coming yet? Yes, we have a Full Moon in 16 degrees of Leo coming up on February 5, but the winds of change are already blowing.  On February 3, the Sun in Aquarius is squaring Uranus in 14 degrees of Taurus.  This is a very rebellious and restless vibe with a strong theme of stability challenging change.  We will undoubtedly be dealing with breakdowns, breakthroughs or comebacks.  Uranus is the wild card planet that likes to shock us and deliver upsets.  It can literally strike like lightning.  Uranus is also the ruling planet of Aquarius, so it packs quite a punch and sets the stage for a powerful and emotional Full Moon in Leo.

If you have any planets in the middle degrees of the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, you have probably been feeling this energy all week.  It tends to generate high anxiety. The bottom line with this Uranian energy is that change is coming and we need to accept it.  If  we don't accept it, we will be steamrolled by it.  There is a saying that is attributed to Gandhi, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world" that  resonates big time for me.  I remember when I first began my study of astrology many years ago my teacher told me that I had a chart like Gandhi.  At the time I didn't understand what that truly meant, but now I can see that perhaps it had to do somewhat with the fact that both Gandhi and I had Libra Rising, Cancer Midheavens and Mercury and Venus in Scorpio.  And I have always sought to achieve peaceful resolutions to any problems, probably because of that Libra Rising and Neptune in Libra in the 1st house.  Gandhi had a 12th house Libra Sun.  I am all too aware that major changes are coming down the pike as a chapter of my life is coming to an end.  My Mars in Aquarius and my Scorpio Sun and Saturn are being aspected with this Sun-Uranus square as well as the Full Moon in Leo.  I can tell you from personal experience that fixed signs don't give up or let go easily, especially when they don't know what the future is bringing.  That is what Uranus does best, delivering the unexpected.  All that I can tell you is to be as proactive as possible to survive and thrive in these changing times.

On February 4, 2023, we have another challenging aspect that is a precursor to the Full Moon in Leo.  Venus in 11 degrees of Pisces is exactly squaring Mars in 11 degrees of Gemini.  We are all going to feel the effects of this aspect, but anyone with planets in the mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces will take the biggest hit.  Relationships will be tested, tempers could flare, conflict could erupt, and we might feel irritable and annoyed with those we love.  Some relationships could break up but the flip side is that Venus squaring Mars can also lead to a surge in creativity or some great make-up sex if conflict does rear its ugly head.  Once again, I am in the line of fire as my Moon is in 14 degrees of Gemini in my 8th house.

On February 5, the Full Moon in 16 degrees of Leo is exact at 1:29 pm.  Full Moons are all about closure, completion and shining a light on what has been previously hidden. Uranus in 15 degrees of Taurus is involved in a fixed T-square with this Full Moon because it squares both the Sun in Aquarius and the Moon in Leo.  Mark my words, there will be a strong sense of urgency and restlessness prevalent as we are forced to contemplate what we have outgrown in our lives.  Uranus in Taurus will probably manifest as climaxes and unexpected results. We should be seeing some fast-moving events with Uranus in the mix.  The thing with Uranus is that you simply cannot predict how it will manifest, but it will throw you for a loop.   It will be a stressful time and I don't see how we can avoid conflict as we deal with stubborn attachments.  Uranus in Taurus is at the end of my 7th house and will be entering my 8th house on February 25, but the Sun is in my 4th house and the Moon is in my 10th house on this Full Moon. The themes associated with a Leo Full Moon include leadership, creativity and integrity.  

This Full Moon in Leo will bring massive changes but it doesn't have to be all negative experiences.  It will probably feel unsettling as a way of life that we have been attached to for so long winds down, but we need to tap into that fire energy and enthusiasm that Leo is renowned for and embrace the future, even if we are not yet sure what it will look like.  On February 8, Venus in 15 degrees of Pisces will form a supportive sextile to Uranus in 15 degrees of Taurus.   Sextiles represent opportunities, so this aspect can be our ticket to working things out after the fallout of the Full Moon and making our way into the light of the future.  Use this energy wisely to create your new reality.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Relationships Take the Stage with Venus Squaring Mars and Trining Uranus and the Sun Entering Libra

 

Relationships are taking center stage with a great deal of Venus action and the Sun moving into Libra on September 22.  We start off on September 16 with Venus in Virgo forming an exact square to Mars in 14 degrees of Gemini.  This aspect can increase our sex drive, but if we have experiencing any tensions in our relationships, it can create more difficulties as it tends to exacerbate anger, impulsiveness and a lack of self-control. It can have a rather grumpy vibe.  I know that I will be feeling this aspect because Mars is exactly conjunct my Moon in Gemini in the 8th house.

The Sun in Virgo is also in an exact opposition to Neptune in 24 degrees of Pisces on September 16.  This aspect can manifest in low energy and feelings of vulnerability, insecurity and general discouragement.  We are very susceptible to con artists on this day, so if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. So there is no doubt that this will impact relationships.  It will be very easy to get seduced on this day and have nothing to show for it.  The plus side of this aspect is that can bring bursts of creativity and inspiration.  Once again, I am in the line of fire with this action because the Virgo Sun is forming a supportive sextile to my Venus in Scorpio while Neptune is trining it.  But I think I will still need to be careful with finances.  

In case you have been living under a rock, Mercury stationed retrograde on September 9th.  It started out in Libra, which is bound to affect communication in relationships but it enters Virgo on September 23 and stations direct in 24 degrees of Virgo on October 2.   On September 18, retrograde Mercury in Libra will be exactly opposing Jupiter in 4 degrees of Aries.  If this sounds familiar, that is because we previously experienced this aspect on September 2nd.  The characteristics of this aspect are grandiose plans, lack of clarity and a tendency to gloss over details.  This is take two of this aspect and we get to experience it again on October 12 when Mercury is direct and Jupiter is still retrograde in Aries.

On September 20, Venus in Virgo is exactly trining Uranus in 18 degrees of Taurus.  I have a natal Venus/Uranus trine involving Venus in Scorpio and Uranus in Cancer, so I am very familiar with this energy.  We are going to be craving excitement and something new in our lives on this day.  It tends to stimulate our craving for variety and something different.  However, bear in mind that if you do meet someone new at this time, it might not last due to the nature of Uranus being sudden and brief.

The Fall Equinox occurs on September 22 when the Sun enters Libra.  When the Sun is in the cardinal air sign of Libra, our focus is geared towards relationships as we are more open to compromise and negotiation.  We also tend to be more social and tactful, which is always appreciated.  But there is a shadow side to the Sun in Libra: decision-making is more challenging as Libra is the sign that loves to weigh all of the options and that can take forever.  We can also be more superficial and engage in passive-aggressive behavior.  Don't forget that the Sun is considered to be in Fall in Libra because it has a hard time asserting itself due to its need to define itself through relationships.  The Sun is considered to be exalted in Aries because Aries generally has no problems with self-assertion.

The Sun Moves into Aries and a Super Full Moon in Libra

Saturn in Capricorn and Mars in Taurus are paving the way for a powerful Super Full Moon in Libra on March 20, 2019, the same day that the sun enters Aries.  Saturn in Capricorn trined Mars in Taurus in 18 degrees of their respective signs on March 14, 2019, inspiring me to tweet:

We have a really productive day ahead of us in the areas of health, finances and career with Mars in Taurus trining Saturn in Capricorn. That earth energy is very goal oriented. #astrology

Saturn trining Mars is providing stable and grounded earth energy to help us make our dreams a reality if we apply ourselves. Mars in Taurus is nothing if not persistent and able to go the distance to arrive at its destination.  It doesn’t mind taking its time, it’s patient, unlike the previous sign of Aries.  And Mars in Taurus will be giving us another boost of energy on March 20, 2019, the day of the full moon in Libra, when it forms an easy, favorable flowing trine to Pluto in Capricorn in 22 degrees of their respective signs. It provides the fuel and the power to act on eliminating obstacles to success without causing conflict and maintaining a sense of harmony that is in perfect alignment with that full moon in Libra.

On March 20, 2019, the sun enters the sign of Aries at 5:58 p.m. and the astrological New Year literally begins because Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. It is the Spring Equinox and the first day of spring.  We will be feeling the need to let go of the past and the future so that we can live in the moment.  That is sage advice for everyone in these turbulent times.  When the sun is in the sign of Aries, we are motivated by a desire to conquer, we’re more impulsive and have a strong urge to initiate.  This is cardinal fire energy and you can’t ignore it.  We will have more courage but the potential downside is that we can be short sighted and unable to plan ahead because we are unable to see the big picture.  But the energy is strong for new beginnings.

The moon enters the sign of Libra at 9:28 p.m. and the full moon occurs fifteen minutes later at 9:43 p.m.  This is going to be a very powerful super full moon for several reasons.  For starters, it’s a super full moon because it is so close to the earth, the third this year—the first occurred on January 21, 2019 and the second occurred on February 19, 2019.  It’s also the fifth full moon in 0 degrees of a sign, which tends to amplify the theme of endings and new beginnings.  We are in the process of transitioning from the old to new in the power structures of our society.  Secrets can come to light during this full moon. Anyone who has planets in 28-29 of the mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces and in 0-2 of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will feel the effects of this full moon big time.

A full moon in Libra is bound to have serious implications in relationships, something that Libra is all about.  The full moon in 0 degrees of Libra forms an irritating inconjunct with Uranus in 0 degrees of Taurus.  Be mindful of the fact that there will probably be a buildup of nervous tension that can be accompanied by irritability, mood swings and emotional outbursts.  Adjustments (the key word and only way of coping with an inconjunct aspect) may be necessary in relationships with women.  The full moon inconjunct Uranus could also indicate meeting someone new and unusual or eccentric but be aware that this person might be a very disruptive influence in your life.  And don’t act too impulsively.

There are a lot of other aspects in play during this full moon.  The sun in Aries is conjunct Chiron in Aries, which can have a very healing influence on relationships.   Retrograde Mercury in Pisces is forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in Capricorn which can help mitigate the tension caused by Uranus by providing clear thinking and good judgement.   Venus in 23 degrees of Aquarius is exactly square Mars in 23 degrees of Taurus on the full moon, and this can manifest in sexual frustration and competitive tension.  It could also play out as a conflict between having freedom and the desire to maintain stability in relationships.   But Venus in Aquarius is also forming a supportive sextile to Jupiter in Sagittarius, which will bring good luck and generosity.  Love and affection may prevail and help heal relationships.  All is not lost when these two benefics are in alignment.  And don’t forget that Mars and Pluto, those two heavyweights, are playing nice in the astrological sandbox with a flowing trine on the day of the full moon.
