Still Under the Influence of Virgo and Pisces Post Full Moon

In typical Neptunian fashion, we are still under the influence of the full moon in Virgo that occurred on February 22, 2016.  The Sun is still in Pisces and we continue to feel the effects of the Virgo/Pisces astrological weather trends.

Jupiter remains retrograde in Virgo and is currently conjunct the north node in Virgo, which automatically places it in direct opposition to the south node in Pisces.  Jupiter, which loves to expand and grow, is literally pushing us forward on our soul’s destined path.  But in order to move forward, we need to shed some karmic baggage. The baggage that needs to be released is symbolized by the south node in Pisces. So we have Jupiter and the north node in Virgo opposing the south node in Pisces and let’s not forget Chiron in Pisces.  Chiron is definitely a heavy hitter in this planetary lineup.  Chiron, aka the Wounded Healer, is featuring prominently because it is forcing our hand when it comes to healing old wounds.  Jupiter and the north node in Virgo have a strong healing theme. With Chiron currently in 20 degrees of Pisces, it is smack dab in the middle of the action with the nodes of the moon and Jupiter.  On March 10, 2016 the Sun in Pisces will catch up to the south node and Chiron while opposing both Jupiter and the north node in Virgo.  And this follows on the heels of a powerful solar eclipse in 18 degrees of Pisces on March 8, 2016.

But first we get another taste of that elusive Neptunian energy on February 28th.  We all know that Neptune rules Pisces, right?  On February 28, 2016, the Sun and Neptune will be conjunct in 9 degrees of Pisces. How will this aspect play out?  Well, at its highest level, it could stimulate spirituality, healing and the arts.  But it could also manifest in a veil of escapism, deception, and overlooking the obvious.  The 28th of February falls on a Sunday, which could lead many people to just engage in some major self-indulgence or escapist venues that characterize the theme of a lazy Sunday.  Personally, I think that is another Neptunian myth, because most people are utilizing Virgo energy on Sundays by doing errands and chores, but we all have the inherent inclination to want our Sundays to be a day of rest.

The Sun/Neptune conjunction in 9 degrees of Pisces falls in my 5th house of romance, children and creativity, which I find encouraging.  It also trines my south node of the moon in Cancer and Saturn in Scorpio, so there is potential for enjoying the arts and maybe even doing some spiritual work that holds potential for healing myself and others. But it also squares my Gemini moon, so there could be some emotional surprises or challenges that come to light on that day.  Or not come to light if someone tries to place me on the receiving end of some deception. It should be an interesting day no matter how it plays out.

The north node in Virgo has an underlying theme of service to others.  In that spirit of pursuing my path as a healer, I am channeling that north node and Jupiter in Virgo energy by offering my Reiki services. Venus in Aquarius is a Heavy Hitter in Virgo Full Moon and Sun Enters Pisces

Venus entered the sign of Aquarius on February 16, 2016, where it will remain until March 12, 2016.  Venus in Aquarius is much more spontaneous and open to new ways of seeing and feeling than Venus in Capricorn. It marks a definite change in tone for relationships.  Individuality and originality are really celebrated when Venus is in Aquarius because Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius. Radical changes can occur in relationships and we shouldn’t be afraid to try something new.  A desire for freedom is a hallmark feature of Venus in Aquarius and friendship is an important piece of the Venus in Aquarius picture.  Being a friend to your partner may be the best way to capitalize on this transit and improve the quality of our relationships.

In spite of the fact that Venus will square all of my Scorpio planets and oppose my Pluto in Leo, I am still embracing this transit because it will be conjuncting my Mars in Aquarius by the end of February into the first week of March.  Venus conjuncting Mars is really nice energy for relationships and creativity, so I am determined to make the most of it.

We have a full moon in 3 degrees of Virgo on February 22, 2016 and Venus in Aquarius features prominently in this full moon. The Virgo moon inconjuncts Venus in 5 degrees of Aquarius, so we will definitely need to watch out for some tension, criticism and perhaps aloofness in relationships as the full moon exposes imperfections in relationships.  It is a wake- up call to make some adjustments and fine tuning in relationships so that our relationships are ultimately healthier.  It is common knowledge that that Virgo is the sign that is all about health.  The full moon in Virgo is also opposing Neptune in 8 degrees of Pisces and while this aspect can make us feel off kilter and question reality, it does offer us the opportunity to spiritually transform ourselves.  That is our most productive way of dealing with this full moon.

The Sun entered the sign of Pisces on February 19th and I must confess that this was a time of rejoicing for me.  I know that the sun in Pisces is still technically the season of winter, but for me, it is like my own personal spa for the soul that feels like spring.  It is a water sign, so I will reap the benefits of having it trine all of my Scorpio and Cancer planets.  It starts out immediately with a trine to my Mercury in Scorpio, then trines my Saturn, Sun, and Venus in Scorpio.  It also trines my south node in Cancer, Cancer midheaven and concludes with trines to my Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer.  Is it any wonder that I always feel reborn, like it is my own personal spring when the sun is in Pisces?  My creativity seems to soar when the sun is in Pisces, and I am convinced that is due in no small part to having the sun enter my 5th house on March 8th.

So we have a curious blend of Aquarius and Pisces energy.  Mercury and Venus are in Aquarius, while the Sun, Chiron and Neptune are in Pisces.  Chiron and Neptune are going to be in Pisces for a long time, as they are slower moving, but we need to make the most of that lovely mutable water energy of the sun in Pisces while we can because the Sun enters Aries on March 20th.  Dive in while you can with all of that lovely water energy.

We also have our first eclipse of 2016 in 18 degrees of Pisces on March 8th, a solar eclipse.  Two weeks later we get our first lunar eclipse in 3 degrees of Libra on March 23, 2016.  So eclipse season is on the way, folks.  Get prepared for more massive changes.

We are also still benefiting from the ongoing alignment of Jupiter conjuncting the north node in Virgo as it guides us intuitively on our path. The north node in Virgo has an underlying theme of service to others.  In that spirit of pursuing my path as a healer, I am channeling that north node and Jupiter in Virgo energy by offering my Reiki services. If you are in the Boston area, please consider getting a Reiki treatment at Acupuncture for Everyone in Copley Square to destress, revitalize and remove blockages to healing.  It’s a perfect way to start your weekend off and can also be described as a spa for the soul to boot!   Reiki is the most profound treatment for stress relief because it concentrates on CALMING your body.

Valentine’s Day Astrology Features Mercury out of the Shadow and Back in Aquarius

The astrology for Valentine’s Day 2016 will be memorable if nothing else because the wrath of Mercury Retrograde’s shadow will finally be over.  I know that Mercury retrograde officially ended on January 25th, but like so many other people I have been in contact with recently (when I could reach them), the shadow has prevailed and caused quite a few snafus with email, computers, smart phones acting stupid (I typed at tweet that said rift and it came out gift), telephone messages and snail mail, including package deliveries.

On February 14th, Mercury re-enters Aquarius, the sign it was in when it stationed retrograde on January 5th.  I sense that there will be a collective sigh of relief heard around the world now that we FINALLY have a green light to pursue our goals and resolutions for 2016.  It appears that the Chinese New Year of the Monkey, which began on February 8th, is a more accurate predictor of when it feels like 2016 has been launched.

What it is it about this particular Mercury in Capricorn that has made it so challenging and difficult?  Plenty.  Mercury in Capricorn has conjuncted the Sun, Pluto and Venus in Capricorn while also squaring Uranus in Aries.  Did you feel the frustration and sense of delays in relationships and finances? Were you caught in the middle of some intense power plays?  While Mercury in Capricorn can be very focused, it is also very sober and practical and has a tendency to become too rigid while projecting a cold, harsh demeanor.  The bottom line is that we may have experienced trouble discerning the fine line between realism and pessimism.

Mercury in Capricorn conjuncted my Chiron in the 4th house and opposed my midheaven, Jupiter and Uranus in the 10th house and squared my Libra ascendant.  Is it any wonder that I have felt held back, irritable and impatient?  I know that I have been really hard on myself and those around me.  And winter weather, like snowstorms that keep me home and force me to reschedule Reiki appointments didn’t improve my disposition.

Now we know that Mercury is finally back in Aquarius, which is bound to make communication more unconventional and inspiring, which should lighten the tone.  But we have some other pretty nice aspects coming up on Valentine’s Day.  Mercury will form an out of sign conjunction with Venus in 26 degrees of Capricorn, so we may find it much easier to communicate and share with our loved ones on Valentine’s Day.  Neptune in Pisces is forming a nice conjunction with Ceres, the dwarf planet (formerly referred to as an asteroid) that is associated with nurturing.  How sweet is that?  Having both Neptune and Ceres will fuel our compassion and nurturing side through fantasy and imagination.  Prepare for a really romantic Valentine’s Day with this aspect.  The Pisces theme of compassion and healing is further emphasized by having Chiron in Pisces conjunct the south node of the moon in Pisces.  It can help release and heal old emotional wounds.  And Mars in Scorpio is sextiling Venus in Capricorn, which will ramp up the passion element.  Mars in Scorpio is also sextiling the north node in Virgo as well as Jupiter in Virgo which can help us deal with issues more directly thus avoiding ugly confrontations.

Since Pisces energy is so predominant in the Valentine’s Day chart, consider giving the gift of healing to your loved one.  It is also a very Aquarian gift because it is unusual and different.  Check out my tweet on Reiki at:

New Moon in Aquarius and Chinese New Year

The new moon in Aquarius and the Chinese New Year both occur on February 8, 2016.  This is major stuff folks, as we usher in a period of huge transformation and change.  The Chinese New Year is the Year of the Monkey, which promises a year of ambition and adventure coupled with a sense of humor.  Many of us have felt like our New Year’s resolutions were on hold due to Mercury retrograde, so we now have an opportunity to get back on track with the official start of the Chinese New Year of the Monkey.  The monkey is associated with Sagittarius in Chinese astrology, so we will get a jolt of fire energy and enthusiasm to blast us out of our inertia and winter doldrums.
The new moon occurs in 19 degrees of Aquarius at 9:39 a.m. on February 8th.  Uranus in 17 degrees is smiling on this new moon with its sextile to both the sun and moon, ensuring that change can happen lightning fast.  Mars in 18 degrees of Scorpio is squaring this new moon, giving it a rather edgy vibe.  Don’t be surprised if these changes feel as if they are forced upon you.  But Mars is also sextiling Pluto in 16 degrees of Capricorn.  This aspect tends to center us and fuels our determination and courage.  This new moon will encourage us to take risks because avoiding change is not an option these days.
I don’t think that I will be exactly snoozing through this new moon myself. I have still been feeling the effects of Mercury retrograde in shadow: I literally can’t wait until February 14th when it is FINALLY out of the shadow and we have a complete green light to move forward.  I have been experiencing problems with my astrology software, the sound on my tablet, and yesterday our fire alarm blasted for over two hours.  I’ve also missed connections with some clients.  So this shadow period is very real and personal for me.  As for the new moon in Aquarius, it falls in my 5th house but conjuncts my Mars in the 4th house.  A boost of creativity is always nice, but there are also some home improvements underway at my house.  And Mars is conjunct my Sun in the 2nd house, so perhaps there will be a little boost of energy to secure additional income or resources.  Of course, this new moon is also squaring my Scorpio sun, which should provide more edginess and impetus for change.  In recent weeks during the official Mercury retrograde, I have been contemplating teaching Reiki and perhaps starting a weekly astrology class.  I definitely have been feeling rather impatient and restless, so this new moon on my Mars and transiting Mars on my sun in the 2nd house may jolt me into action.
There will be a pretty intense planetary buildup to this new moon which is set in motion on February 6th.  The moon is still in Capricorn on that day and both Venus and the moon conjunct Pluto in Capricorn, which is definitely not for lightweights.  This is accompanied by a square from Uranus in Aries which can deliver more surprises and conflicts.  Strong emotions regarding relationships, finances and value may erupt.  Venus and Pluto interacting always tend to generate their fair share of drama. The moon enters Aquarius on February 7th, and the Aquarius Sun squares Mars in Scorpio.  What a fitting aspect for Super Bowl Sunday with all of that offensive and defensive energy!
It’s a perfect way to start your weekend off.  Reiki is the most profound treatment for stress relief because it concentrates on CALMING your body.
