A Super Full Moon in Taurus, Saturn Stations Direct in Pisces, Pluto Enters Aquarius and the Sun Moves into Sagittarius

 

Do we ever have a hectic week coming up astrologically!  It starts on November 15 with a Super Full Moon in 24 degrees of Taurus that is conjunct Uranus in 25 degrees of Taurus.  This alone has a wild card vibe.  You literally never know what Uranus is going to do but it is a given that there will be a strong desire for change and freedom. The Sun is in Scorpio and the Moon is in Taurus, so there could be major reveals about financial dealings. The Full Moon is also forming a supportive sextile to Neptune in 27 degrees of Pisces, which ramps up our sensitivity, intuition and psychic abilities.  This is a beneficial aspect for creativity and meditation.  

The Moon in Taurus will also be trining Pluto in 29 degrees of Capricorn.  This is yet another aspect that increases our emotional sensitivity and psychic perception.  We can literally be transformed by our intense emotional reactions.  If you have any planets in 22-26 degrees of the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, I guarantee that you will be feeling the effects of this Full Moon.  I have my natal Venus in 24 degrees of Scorpio in my 2nd house and my Pluto in 26 degrees of Leo in my 11th house, so I know that it will be intense for me.

Saturn also stations direct in 12 degrees of Pisces on November 15.  It has been retrograde since June 29, 2024 when it stationed retrograde in 19 degrees of Pisces.  It's finally time for a reality check, especially if you have planets between 10-15 degrees of the mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.  Whenever a planet stations, either retrograde or direct, its influence is much stronger.  Saturn stationing direct in Pisces can call upon us to move past the victim/savior roles in our lives and set some clear boundaries.  And it can help remove whatever obstacles we have been dealing with since it stationed retrograde.  I have my natal Moon in 14 degrees of Gemini, so once again I am in the fray...

On November 16, the Sun in Scorpio is opposing Uranus in Taurus.  The urge for freedom and change continues, but it can also generate some anxiety about the sudden upheavals that have no doubt been occurring. It will definitely be another unsettling day.

Pluto enters Aquarius until March 2043 on November 19.  There is no more backtracking into Capricorn like last year; Pluto won't return to Capricorn for about 250 years.   I know that a lot of people have been looking forward to Pluto being in Aquarius and giving power to the people, but I was really struck by what astrologer Armand Diaz had to say about how ugly it can be when Pluto enters a new sign. Let's face it, Pluto was in Aquarius during the French Revolution and that was not a pretty sight.  It was downright violent in its quest for freedom. Pluto in Aquarius will bring transformation in the collective through humanitarian movements and technology, but there can definitely be an underbelly to it.  I wouldn't be surprised if there was some violence as people seek more freedom. We need to be prepared for some growing pains. Artificial Intelligence can inflict damage in addition to helping us.  I have a Cardinal T-square in my chart in the late degrees (26-29), so while I am breathing a sigh of relief that they will no longer be getting hit, I am fully aware that Pluto in Aquarius starts off by squaring my Mercury in 0 degrees of Scorpio before it squares the rest of my Scorpio planets: Pallas, Saturn, Black Moon Lilith, Venus and Ceres.   And midway through its transit of Aquarius, Pluto will conjunct my Mars in my 4th house. Will I survive it? Or will transiting Pluto opposing my natal Pluto in Leo bring even more drama than I can handle?  Fortunately Pluto works slowly so I have time to figure it out and adapt.

On a much lighter note, the Sun moves into Sagittarius on November 21. We will be transitioning from the intensity of fixed water (Scorpio) to mutable fire. There will be a shift from intimate connections to a deepening awareness of the big picture.  It is time to nurture our faith, hope and vision for the future. Feel free to embrace learning and travel as we expand our consciousness.  Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, so enjoy the refreshing change.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. An Action-Packed Week as the Sun and Pluto Enter Aquarius, Venus Moves into Capricorn and the First Full Moon of 2024 in Leo

This is it, folks.  If you haven't felt like 2024 is officially here, I guarantee that you will this week.  On January 19, Mercury in Capricorn will be exactly trining Jupiter in 6 degrees of Taurus, providing us with an optimistic tone to our communication and facilitating our ability to be more organized and make plans. On the same day, Venus in Sagittarius will be exactly squaring Neptune in 25 degrees of Pisces, which can put us in the mood for partying and wanting to enjoy some beauty in our lives.  Don't even think of going on a diet, though with this aspect. It does not encourage self-discipline.

But mark the day of January 20 on your calendar.  This might very well be the official start of 2024.  The Sun and Pluto will be conjunct in 29 degrees of Capricorn at 8:46 a.m. on that day for the last time.  It is common knowledge that 29 degrees is considered to be the critical or anaretic degree, so we can expect some drama and upsets to occur.  Paranoia might rear its ugly head and many of us could feel like this is the last straw.  We are in a major process of transformation and some things could be removed from our lives.

At 9:07 a.m. on January 20, the Sun enters the fixed air sign of Aquarius.  This happens every year and it marks a change in our focus.   When the Sun is in Aquarius, we want to be free and original.  We are more innovative and concerned with the greater good.  Equality becomes a priority now.  We could also feel like enlarging our social circle and might find a new tribe that meshes with our beliefs.

But Pluto is also entering Aquarius on January 20 at 7:50 p.m.  This is huge and will usher in a new reality.  Pluto briefly tiptoed into Aquarius in 2023 from March 23 through June 11 to give us a taste which mostly shone a light on AI, but Pluto will remain in Aquarius until September 1, 2024 when it returns to Capricorn until November 19, 2024 to attend to unfinished business.  This unfinished business will probably revolve around the final touches of transforming our financial and governmental structures. When Pluto returns to Aquarius on November 19, it will stay in Aquarius for good until March 8, 2043. I have made peace with the fact that Pluto will remain in Aquarius for the rest of my life; I was born with Pluto in Leo.  Countries, like the United States, have Pluto Returns, but people don't because we don't have a 248-year life span.

The last time Pluto was in Aquarius for an extended stay was from 1778 to 1798.  This was the age of Revolution: the American Revolution, the French Revolution and the Industrial Revolution.  Destruction and rebirth are the calling cards of Pluto.  When Pluto is in Aquarius, 

we should all consider giving back to our communities.  It will quite literally be the era of Power for the People.

Mercury in 8 degrees of Capricorn leaves its retrograde shadow on January 20 as well.  Hooray!  The Moon also enters Gemini at 8:58 a.m. just a few minutes after the Sun enters Aquarius.  This is significant because we will finally have some planets in air by the evening: the Sun and Pluto in Aquarius and the Moon in Gemini.  In case you haven't noticed, we haven't had any air planets recently.  Now that we have some planets in air signs, communication can proceed more smoothly.  And having Mercury clearing its retrograde shadow on the same day is a real perk.

Venus leaves party sign Sagittarius for Capricorn on January 23, 2024 and stays in Capricorn until February 16, 2024.  When Venus is in Capricorn, our style of showing love and affection is more subdued and we are craving stability. It is a time of getting serious about love, commitment and finances. But Venus in Capricorn does reward hard work in relationships.

And on January 25, we have our first Full Moon of 2024 in 5 degrees of Leo.  This is bound to  be felt on a deeply emotional level.  This Full Moon has been referred to as the Wolf Moon because wolves are heard howling in the winter.  Major themes of this Full Moon include listening to your heart (Leo rules the heart), engage in some self-love and let your inner child out to play so that you can find your truth and release those emotions.

What is the astrological landscape of this Full Moon?  For starters, this Full Moon in Leo is opposing Pluto in 0 degrees of Aquarius, which can play out as volatility, mood swings, inner turmoil, relationship drama and for some, vulnerability to manipulation.   The Full Moon in 5 degrees of Leo is also squaring Jupiter in 6 degrees of Taurus, which can have us wanting to claim our power but feeling overwhelmed.  The Full Moon in Leo is involved in a T-square because it opposes both the Sun and Pluto in Aquarius while squaring Jupiter in Taurus, so it can be an explosive mix.  But T-squares do have a way of motivating us.  We might find ourselves having to make some adjustments in relationships because the Full Moon in Leo is inconjunct Saturn in 5 degrees of Pisces and Venus in 2 degrees of Capricorn.  The bright side of this Full Moon is that Jupiter in Taurus is forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in Pisces, which can help stabilize our spiritual growth.

Aries Season is Officially Launched with the Sun, Mercury and a New Moon in Aries While Pluto Enters Aquarius

 

Pisces season is ending with a bang as Mercury in Pisces squares off with Mars in 26 degrees of Gemini on March 17.  This will be one tense day that is definitely not going to be mellow and tempers could be flaring. The Sun and Mercury are also conjunct in Pisces on this day, so don't be surprised if hurt feelings are expressed.  Mercury in Pisces is sextiling Pluto in Capricorn on March 18 and we have the opportunity for more intense and in-depth communication and thinking.  

We have already have Jupiter and Chiron in Aries, but on March 19, Mercury joins the party and stays in Aries until April 3.  Mercury in Aries is more spontaneous in its thinking and conversation.  It can be impatient, impulsive, defensive and prone to making quick decisions.  But we will be more straightforward and honest, so at least we can bid farewell to the fog, confusion and deception that Mercury in Pisces brought to the table.

The Sun enters Aries on March 20 for the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and the Autumnal Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere.  In the Northern Hemisphere, it is the first day of Spring. March 20 is also considered to be International Astrology Day.  It is the first day of the astrological New Year because Aries is the first sign of the zodiac.  March 2023 is a pivotal, game-changing month and this is quite perfect for it to be our New Year.  When the Sun is in Aries, we tend to have more courage, energy, a desire to conquer and are itching to initiate some action. We are more impulsive and can become impatient more easily.  Aries is ruled by Mars, don't forget. 

The Moon moves into Aries on March 21 and we have a New Moon in 0 degrees of Aries at 1:23 p.m.  This will be one highly visible, action-packed New Moon in Aries.  How could it not be with Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Chiron also in Aries?  It is very aggressive and dynamic energy.  Aries is a cardinal sign, and cardinal signs love to initiate, so set those new intentions.  The force is literally with us, as the New Moon is also conjunct Mercury in Aries, adding to our mental focus and strength in creating a new reality.  Neptune in 25 degrees of Pisces is also forming an out-of-sign conjunction with the New Moon, adding a layer of spirituality to the mix.  Don't even think of laying low or hiding out on this New Moon; it is a day to strut your stuff and launch your dreams.

Aries energy is dominating the astrological landscape these days.  And this year we have two New Moons in Aries.  The first one is on March 21 in 0 degrees of Aries and the second one happens on April 20 with a New Moon Solar Eclipse in 29 degrees of Aries.  This is a rare occurrence; we haven't had two New Moons in Aries since 2004.  Back in 2004, we had a New Moon in 0 degrees of Aries on March 20 and a Solar Eclipse on April 19 in 29 degrees of Aries. I always tend to describe Solar Eclipses as New Moons on steroids, which makes them even more powerful.  So just keep in mind to initiate your desires on March 21, but remember that you get another shot to keep the ball rolling on April 20... More on that in a later post.

On March 23, Pluto briefly enters the sign of Aquarius after having been in Capricorn since 2008.  Pluto will only remain in Aquarius until June 11 before it slips back into Capricorn. It will re-enter Aquarius on January 22, 2024 and then have one last tour in Capricorn on September 1, 2024 until it makes its final entry into Aquarius on November 19, 2024.  Then Pluto will be in Aquarius until 2043.

No one in the astrological community disputes the significance of Pluto entering Aquarius.  Pluto is a generational planet and its nature involves transformation.  I was watching Penny Thornton's YouTube video on Pluto in Aquarius this week and I couldn't help but agree with her when she said that you never really see what is coming with Pluto transits, but you will get stripped of something in your life.  You don't have a choice about what happens and there are no negotiations. You will feel threatened on some level and undergo a rebirth.  This doesn't mean that you will physically die, but something in your life will change.  Pluto's themes involve elimination, rebirth, death and reformation.  Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio and the two are irrevocably intertwined.  Scorpio is a sign of extremes, the fire and ice of the zodiac.  But it is also the sign that has as its highest form the phoenix that can rise from the ashes and be reborn.  It is a breakdown to a breakthrough process that frequently involves things getting worse before they get better.  I frequently tell my clients that rebirth ain't always pretty.  Pluto transits can feel like a wrecking ball is going through your life.   I personally had transiting Pluto in Capricorn conjunct my natal Chiron in Capricorn in my 4th house and I can certainly attest to that theory.

What can we expect with Pluto in Aquarius?  I am very fond of looking to history as a guide and the last time Pluto was in Aquarius was in 1789.  The French had their own revolution back then.  Aquarius is the sign associated with humanitarianism, enlightenment and trying to create a more equal society.  We can also expect technology to see major changes as the Internet continues to unite us or divide us, depending on your point of view.  I find it supremely interesting that when Pluto entered Capricorn back in 2008 we had a severe financial crisis and as it prepares to leave Capricorn for the first time, we are dealing with bank collapses.  The bottom line is that the changes in society we are trying to implement will not happen overnight.

Issues of power and control are also associated with the planet Pluto.  If you have planets or points like your Ascendant, IC, Descendant or Midheaven  in 0-1 degree of the fixed signs of  Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio, you will be the first to experience the effects of Pluto in Aquarius.  Once again, I am right in the line of fire on this one as I have Mercury in 0 degrees of Scorpio.  I wonder how it will change my thinking and communication?

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
