Saturn and Pluto Have a Friendly Encounter, Venus Enters Taurus and a Full Moon in Libra

 

The last week of March promises to be quite active.  On March 28, Saturn in Aries is forming a supportive sextile to Pluto in 5 degrees of Aquarius. This is a good thing and reflects a vast improvement over the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn that occurred on January 20, 2020 in 22 degrees of Capricorn and is associated with launching the pandemic that put the world in lockdown mode, forever changing the structure of our lives. This sextile is powerful energy for transformation and getting unstuck, both personally and collectively.  Sextiles represent opportunities and we need to be mindful of where these two planets are hitting our charts.  Saturn in Aries asks us to be less rigid in the area of life it is falling while Pluto in Aquarius encourages us to ask for help in that area of life.  Saturn in Aries is in my 6th house and Pluto in Aquarius is in my 4th house.  All I can tell you is that we will be presented with opportunities on this day and in the true nature of sextiles, if we don't take advantage of them, it will be our loss.  If you snooze you lose. Enough said on the matter...

Venus is actually a major player in the upcoming week.  It enters Taurus on March 30 and remains there until April 23.  Venus rules Taurus and Libra, so it is a very happy camper in Taurus.  It is operating at full capacity now.  Venus in Taurus loves to touch, feel, taste and hold.  It is very sensual.  Stability and reliability hold great appeal now. Trust your body and the messages it gives you.  We can be definitely up for creating something lasting in relationships, unlike when Venus was in Aries and we were more into the thrill of the chase.  Venus in Taurus is very security oriented.  Just be mindful that Venus is in the fixed earth sign and compromise  could be more difficult.  That is the shadow side of Venus in Taurus, as well as the tendency to overspend because luxury items are hard to resist now.

Venus is also the ruling planet of the Full Moon in 12 degrees of Libra on April 1. Yes, folks, we have a Full Moon on April Fool's Day, which is also the first day of Passover.  Mark my words, this Full Moon will be focused on relationships, so it can manifest as tensions and the need to find balance. This Full Moon in Libra is also opposing Saturn and Neptune in Aries, as well as the Sun.  The opposition to Saturn can create blockages and the opposition to Neptune can manifest as aggression at sea, deception and problems with oil.  

Peace is a major theme of this Full Moon in Libra, and we can definitely hope for some closure, completion or culmination in the area of life that this Moon falls in your chart.  For me, it is in my 12th house conjunct my Libra Ascendant and squaring my Nodes in Capricorn and Cancer.

The Full Moon in Libra is also squaring Jupiter in Cancer, which can intensify the emotional level and lead to overindulgence (especially with that Venus in Taurus influence)  or overextending ourselves.  Just remember that all of the planets are direct until May 6, when Pluto stations retrograde in 5 degrees of Aquarius.  I know that Mercury went direct on March 20, but it doesn't officially clear its retrograde shadow until April 9 and I for one have still been feeling the Mercury retrograde effects this week.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. A Potent Full Moon in Libra and Venus Goes Direct

 

The month of April is definitely kicking into high gear after a brief respite last week that featured Saturn and Mars sextiling Uranus in Taurus and Mars in Cancer trining Saturn in Pisces.  And Mercury stationed direct in 26 degrees of Pisces on April 7, which was cause for celebration.  Just be mindful that it might take a little while for us to fully feel like Mercury is direct as it clears its retrograde shadow, which will happen on April 25, 2025 when it hits 9 degrees of Aries.  Mercury will enter Aries on April 16 and Mercury is much more comfortable and direct (pardon the pun) in the sign of Aries.

On April 12, we have a powerful Full Moon in 23 degrees of Libra.  This Full Moon features a T-square involving the Sun in 23 degrees of Aries, the Moon in 23 degrees of Libra and Mars in 27 degrees of Cancer.  T-squares cause tension, friction, and confrontations but they do have a way of motivating us to make changes.  Mars in 27 degrees of Cancer is also widely opposing Pluto in 3 degrees of Aquarius, which raises the ante for potential brute force to emerge.

Healing is a major theme of this Full Moon in Libra due to Chiron's presence.  Chiron is in 23 degrees of Aries exactly conjunct the Sun and opposing the Moon in Libra.  This is bound to bring awareness of old fears, wounds and insecurities.  We are offered the opportunity to step out of our victimhood and move into authority as we heal that wound.  People who were born during 1974-1975 are undergoing their Chiron Return, so they will feel this Full Moon quite acutely.

There is also an extremely karmic note to this Full Moon because it also features a Yod.  A Yod occurs when two planets or points sextile each other while being inconjunct a third planet. Sometimes a Yod is referred to as the Finger of God. So, yes fated events can happen. Venus in 24 degrees of Pisces sextiles Uranus in 25 degrees of Taurus and they are both inconjunct the Moon in 23 degrees of Libra.  We could quite literally experience a spiritual awakening with this Full Moon in Libra.  Venus is also conjunct the North Node in 26 degrees of Pisces, further underscoring the karmic theme.  A Full Moon in Libra is also associated with unconditional love, but we need to be careful not to give too much to others.  Libra does have a tendency to be a people pleaser.  Social justice can also be a major theme of this Full Moon.

Venus sextiling Uranus can see us craving more fun and excitement in our social life, while creating opportunities for new friends and lovers to come into our lives.  It can also spur our creativity because Venus is exalted in Pisces. Venus is also conjunct Saturn in 25 degrees of Pisces and that aspect was exact on April 7, which probably served to provide major reality checks in love and finances.

The most positive feature of this Full Moon in Libra is the fact that Venus is stationing direct in 24 degrees of Pisces at 9:02 p.m.  Venus stationed retrograde on March 1 in 10 degrees of Aries, so it has been a long siege.  Venus also rules Libra (as well as Taurus), so relationships are going to feel the effects of this Full Moon in a big way.  Venus will move back into Aries on April 30 and will officially clear its retrograde shadow on May 15 when it hits 10 degrees of Aries.  So we should start to see some relief in love and finances within the next few weeks.  I am one of the rare 7% of the population born with Venus retrograde, but I am not always that comfortable during a Venus retrograde transit.  Some are easier than others for me, but this one was not so easy.  It was complicated because it occurred in two signs: Aries and Pisces.  Venus is considered to be in detriment in Aries (a fancy way of saying it is not comfortable) while it is exalted in Pisces.  Venus was previously in Pisces in a direct motion from January 2 through February 4, 2025, so I suppose we should be grateful that we will get another shot at experiencing the benefits of Venus direct in Pisces again.  Venus was retrograde in Pisces from March 27 through April 7, 2025.

Mercury Enters Taurus for Over Two Months and a Full Moon in Libra

 

The month of March has been intense, to say the least. Talk about coming in like a lion and going out like a lamb.  We had three major planets change signs: Saturn moved into Pisces on March 7, Pluto entered Aquarius for a brief stint on March 23, and Mars finally left Gemini for Cancer on March 25.  I don't know anyone, client or friend, who doesn't say that this month has been challenging and exhausting. This last week has had a slightly lighter vibration, which is something we all really need after the hectic pace of March.

Mercury is on the move again.  In the month of March, Mercury traveled through the signs of Aquarius, Pisces and Aries.  Air, water and fire had their journey through the messenger planet and on April 3, earth gets a shot when Mercury moves into Taurus.  This is going to be a much longer stay because Mercury stations retrograde in 15 degrees of Taurus on April 21.  It will go direct on May 14 in 5 degrees of Taurus (Mother's Day) but will remain in the fixed earth sign of Taurus until June 11.

What can we expect when Mercury is in Taurus?  Right off the bat, Mercury in Taurus will be squaring Pluto in Aquarius.  This is bound to bring some bitter disputes and generate some power struggles.  But our thinking and communication will be become more practical, grounded and solid.  It is an optimal time to strategize and plan, which was certainly not the case when Mercury was in Aries.  Persistence and common sense will prevail.  Our communication can be much softer and gentler than when Mercury was in Aries.  Just be mindful of the shadow side of Mercury in Taurus: a tendency towards stubbornness and we should all survive just fine.

On April 6, we have a potent Full Moon in 16 degrees of Libra. In addition to opposing the Sun in Aries, it is also opposing Jupiter in 20 degrees of Aries and Chiron in 15 degrees of Aries.  The Sun and Jupiter are conjunct on the Full Moon, which is really expanding the Aries themes of living in the moment and having a strong sense of self.  Health issues are going to be prominent on this Full Moon with the opposition to Chiron, so I encourage everyone to get any problems checked out.  All of this Aries energy is giving us the fuel to do it.  

The Full Moon in Libra touches on the issues of fairness, cooperation, peace, harmony, truth, the law and justice.  Since Full Moons can reveal hidden truths, don't be surprised if there are more legal cases in the news.  Full Moons can also represent endings, closure and completion too, so I wouldn't rule out some high profile break-ups.  This Full Moon in 16 degrees of Libra is inconjunct our favorite wild card planet Uranus in 17 degrees of Taurus, which can trigger more uprisings and rebellions.  I am a bit apprehensive about the Full Moon because it is exactly conjunct my natal Ascendant in 16 degrees of Libra.   It does trine my Mars in Aquarius and Moon in Gemini, but I am still concerned about the effects it will have on my Ascendant. Obviously I am poised for some major changes in my life.

A Power-Packed Full Moon in Libra and the Sun Enters Taurus

 

I realize that most of us are still awash in the emotional pull of the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Pisces of April 12, but we have even more intensity in store for us on April 16 with the Full Moon in 26 degrees of Libra.  I think it is a pretty fair statement that emotions and tears were flowing on that conjunction, when I tweeted:

The Full Moon in 26 degrees of Libra is also inconjunct Jupiter and Neptune in 24 degrees of Pisces, so there is an added emphasis on making adjustments to achieve some emotional balance.  Libra is a sign with themes of seeking balance and is all about relationships.  Full Moons inherently have themes of closure and completion, so some relationships just might end.  I think it's also prudent to warn anyone with planets in the late degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn that this will be an exceptionally intense Full Moon.

The Full Moon will also be trining Saturn in 23 degrees of Aquarius, which could actually cut us a break.  It will provide us with some stability by helping us tap into our maturity and wisdom to navigate these difficult times and make us more grounded.  But this does mean that the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius are not exactly getting a free ride with this Full Moon because we are headed into eclipse season: the first one is a Solar Eclipse on April 30 in 10 degrees of Taurus and the second one is a Lunar Eclipse on May 16 in 25 degrees of Scorpio.

One of the reasons I am describing this as a power-packed Full Moon is the involvement of Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn.  There is a T-square on April 16 involving the Sun in Aries, Moon in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn.  Pluto is all about power, transformation and emotional intensity.  Power struggles could emerge and secrets could come to light about abuses of power.  I don't think that it is a coincidence that the war in Ukraine started during the week of the Pluto Return of the United States. It has also been pointed out by other astrologers that in 2022 every Full Moon until July will be engaged with Pluto.  On April 18, the Sun in Aries will be exactly squaring Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn, which will see us digging deep for transformation.

One of the saving graces of the Full Moon is the conjunction between Mercury in 11 degrees of Taurus with Uranus in 13 degrees of Taurus.  Sudden insights, ideas and breakthroughs could surface.  Mercury and Uranus will be exactly conjunct in 13 degrees of Taurus on April 18, so these themes prevail for a few days.

As usual, I am right in the thick of the action of this Full Moon.  It is conjunct my Juno and Neptune in Libra in my 1st house and it squares my Chiron in Capricorn in my 4th house, as well as my Midheaven, Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer.  Yep, I have a cardinal T-square that is being set off.  And as a Scorpio, I also have the Mercury-Uranus conjunction in Taurus opposing my Pallas and Saturn in Scorpio in my 1st house and squaring my Mars in Aquarius in my 4th house.

We do get a little astrological relief on April 19 when the Sun moves into the Venus-ruled sign of Taurus.  It is time to slow down, get grounded and enjoy the finer things in life as the pleasure principle prevails.  This is a huge change from the impulsive cardinal fire energy of Aries.  We will be focused on material growth and playing it safe. By all means, get outside and enjoy the earth as the weather will undoubtedly be improving.  But we will have the tenacity to pursue our goals because Taurus is fixed earth.  Just watch out for the shadow side of  Taurus, which can involve being overly stubborn and possessive.  It should be a calmer and more peaceful transit.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. The First Super Full Moon of 2021 is in Relationship-Oriented Libra

 

The first Super Full Moon of 2021 is about to happen on March 28, 2021 in 8 degrees of Libra.  It is larger and closer to earth than most full moons, it can be perceived as being more beautiful because of its visibility and this one will pack a double whammy on love and relationships because it occurs in the relationship-oriented sign of Libra.

We know the drill that emotions run high around a Full Moon.  This one is no exception due to the fact that Chiron in Aries is prominently aspected.  It is conjunct both the Sun and Venus in Aries, which will serve as a reminder of the painful parts of love. And the Full Moon in Libra opposes Chiron and Venus in Aries. But Chiron’s presence also lends a healing vibe to this Full Moon. The past week has been very emotional, especially with two mass shootings occurring in the United States: in Georgia on March 16 and Colorado on March 22.  The Moon in Libra seeks justice and the south node of the Moon is in Sagittarius, which pertains to legal issues.  Is it possible for us to have some closure or resolution (major Full Moon themes) on gun control?

I am not exaggerating when I say this Full Moon could have some major resolution issues.  Think back to October 16, 2020 when we had a New Moon in 23 degrees of Libra.  Since New Moons represent beginnings, what seeds for a fresh start were you planting then?  You just might be reaping the benefits of those endeavors now.  If you have any planets in the early degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn expect to be impacted heavily by this Full Moon.

This Full Moon in Libra falls in my 12^th house of karma, and is conjunct my Libra ascendant.  And it squares my nodes in the cardinal signs of Cancer and Capricorn. As if that weren’t enough emotional intensity, the north node of the Moon is also conjunct my Gemini Moon in my 8^th house. So I am highly attuned to this energy and am feeling my psychic and empathic oats.  If you are an Aries, you will feel the effects of this Full Moon in your relationships.  Libras will be very emotional and not averse to hiding their feelings, while Cancers and Capricorns will be striving to find a work/life balance. And we can’t rule out more unpredictable events occurring due to the fact that the Full Moon is inconjunct Uranus in 8 degrees of Taurus.

Contentious communications are likely during this Full Moon because we also had Mercury in Pisces squaring Mars in Gemini on March 23.  On that day I tweeted:

But as challenging as all of this sounds, we do have some hope emerging from this Full Moon.  There is a Grand Trine in Air present involving the Moon in 8 degrees of Libra, Saturn in 11 degrees of aquarius and mars in 14 degrees of Gemini. In keeping with one of the other themes of a Full Moon, a lot of information will be revealed around this time.  And having Saturn involved in the mix is a good thing; it will help provide the willingness to work on healing the pain in relationships by working with the Moon and Mars in Aquarius.  It’s literally the power of three with emotion, structure and action.  I know that I have my own set of personal challenges with this Full Moon, but a part of me is stoked because I have a Grand Air Trine in my natal chart and while I don’t look forward to having Saturn conjunct my natal Mars, I am curious as to how having Mars in Gemini conjunct my natal Moon will manifest.
