Full Moon in Gemini and Saturn Neptune Face Off - Take One

The major astrological events of this week were the Full Moon in 3 degrees of Gemini on November 25, 2015 and the first of three exact Saturn Neptune squares on November 26, 2015, which happened to fall on Thanksgiving Day.

On November 25th, I tweeted this about the full moon:

“Definite reality challenge today as Gemini #FullMoon squares Neptune in Pisces.  Try to see things clearly.”

This was a pretty potent full moon because the Sun in Sagittarius conjuncted Saturn and  transportation issues as many people were en route to visit family and friends for the Thanksgiving holiday.  I found myself at the mercy of traffic and transportation delays on November 24th and missed an important phone call on the day of the Full Moon.  They say that Gemini is a busy mind and at one point on the 25th I found myself texting two people, emailing one and speaking on my landline with another simultaneously.  How much more multi-tasking can one do?  Logic and theory were definitely on a collision course for this full moon.

Neptune is still a key player these days and isn’t about to stop anytime soon.  The full moon squared Neptune in Pisces and the effects of the Saturn in Sagittarius Neptune in Pisces square will be felt through 2016, with two more exact hits on June 17, 2016 and September 10, 2016.

The first of the Saturn Neptune squares occurred on Thanksgiving Day, November 26th.  It inspired me to tweet:

“Reality and fantasy butt heads today as Saturn in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces.  We may feel somewhat restricted.”

The Saturn Neptune square evokes themes of 1989-90 when both Saturn and Neptune were conjunct in Capricorn.  It may be helpful to think back to what was going on in your life back then.  I know that back then I was trying to launch my career as a full-time psychic who dabbled in astrology and it was not successful.  Now I am devoting myself to my work of astrology, psychic readings and Reiki.  Over the years I have pursued a more in-depth study of astrology and added Reiki to my other healing skills.  I think that I have known since my early 20’s that I had healing abilities, but it is only within the past few years that I have realized that my path is to be a healer with a toolkit of Reiki, astrology and psychic readings that capitalized on my intuitive abilities.  I definitely was not equipped to harness that Saturn Neptune energy in Capricorn back in 1989-1990, but now that Pluto in Capricorn has been transiting my third house and conjuncted my north node, I think I am finally starting to get it in terms of transforming my dreams into reality.

Saturn is rational and practical while Neptune is spiritual and compassionate, yet easily disillusioned and prone to escapism.  Is it any wonder that fantasy (Neptune) and the reality of structures (Saturn) are clashing?  The square aspect by its very nature produces tension, while conjunctions can be easy aspects if the two planets involved are on the same wavelength.  I know this personally—I have my Sun conjunct Venus, which is considered an easy, flowing aspect, but my Sun is also conjunct Saturn, which is not an easy aspect.  So when Saturn and Neptune were conjunct in Capricorn back in 1989-1990, they were not a good fit.  And this new alignment they are forming will continue to challenge us through 2016.

The north node moved into Virgo recently, which has an underlying theme of service to others.  In that spirit of pursuing my path as a healer, I am channeling that north node and Jupiter in Virgo energy by offering my Reiki services. Neptune Direct and Farewell Scorpio Season

Neptune stationed direct in 7 degrees of Pisces on November 18th at 11:31 a.m.and we are still feeling the repercussions of that station.   In addition to being a Scorpio, I am also very much a Neptunian with Neptune in the first house conjunct my ascendant.  I tried to inject a positive spin on this astrological event when I tweeted the following on November 18th:

“There is more potential for dreams to become a reality today as Neptune in Pisces stations direct after 5 month retrograde.”

I also loved the way fellow astrologer Kristin Fontana described Neptune going direct:

“The emotional fog will dissipate and you can see the truth for what it is no matter how bitter the taste at times.”

Neptune’s station has the unnerving quality of making you wonder if you’re blessed with divine insight or losing your mind.  Self-deception can prevail when Neptune is about to make a station as we question reality.  It’s a common theme that I have heard from my clients recently—why is this happening to me and is it real?  But Neptune can also generate compassion, and I am trying to rely on that to get me through the adjustment period of Neptune stationing direct.  We all know that when a planet stations direct or retrograde, the energy of that planet will be intensified for a few days until it settles into its new direction.  Neptune has been retrograde since June 12, 2015 and I know that it has been an intense time for a lot of people.

On November 19th the moon moved into Pisces, inspiring me to tweet a sentiment that seemed to resonate for many of my followers:

“Moon enters Pisces today and conjuncts Neptune tonight.  Expect to feel either inspired or delusional.  Still adjusting to #NeptuneStation.”

The theme of a reality check emerges big-time on November 26th when Saturn in Sagittarius forms an exact square Neptune in Pisces in 7 degrees of both signs.  This is Thanksgiving Day in the United States and it is also a full moon.  It should be an interesting day and time will tell if that 7 degrees is lucky or not.

In the meantime, the Sun is preparing to exit the sign of Scorpio.  It will enter the sign of Sagittarius on November 22nd.  The Scorpio Sun conjuncted Mercury in Scorpio in 24 degrees on November 17th, inspiring me to tweet:

“Sun conjunct Mercury in Scorpio bodes well for in-depth communication.  Last call to get to the root of the matter.”

That aspect conjuncted my natal Venus in Scorpio in the second house.  I did find myself engaged in conversations about my values and had an interesting telephone consultation with a new astrology client which proved to be very illuminating for both of us. It was definitely a day when mental adjustment about our reality was in order.  But Mercury will leave Scorpio on November 20th at 2:43 p.m. and enter the more open, free-wheeling sign of Sagittarius.  I sense that the Scorpionic energy will still dominate that day because we also have Venus in Libra squaring Pluto in Capricorn in 12 degrees at 9:02 p.m.  Relationships may very well experience a lot of obsessive energy, which is Scorpio at its core.

Scorpio is an extremely complicated sign and experiencing it at its fullest can be exhausting because of the depth and intensity that it entails.  It is the only sign in the zodiac that has three animal symbols: the Scorpion, the Eagle and the Phoenix.  The Scorpion dwells in the darkness and holds onto negativity and resentments.  It is renowned (or reviled) for its venomous verbal sting.  Yet the Eagle soars higher in the sky and closer to the light by trying to attain a higher perspective.  It is a balancing act between the light and the shadow, which is not always comfortable or easy.

And then there is the Phoenix, which is all about embracing the process of transformation, which is an integral part of the Scorpio persona.  The Phoenix sets it nest on fire and is consumed by the flames in order to be reborn.

Personally, I can attest to the fact that I have had the full blown Scorpio experience in the past few weeks.  I have been forced to confront my own negativity and feelings of resentment recently while trying to heal and make peace with these shadow sides of myself.  It doesn’t help matters that I also have Mercury in Scorpio, so I am definitely not immune to the tendency towards lashing out verbally.  So I have been down and dirty with the Scorpion, attempted to soar like an eagle to rise above the fray, and am also embracing the concept of transformation and rebirth embodied by the Phoenix because deep down I know that rebirth is necessary. But as I have often said, rebirth ain’t pretty.  Letting go is hard work.  I am very grateful that my astrology, Reiki and psychic work is a constructive outlet for me because I tend to attract clients with similar issues who help heal me as much I help heal them.  It never ceases to amaze me what I can learn about myself from my clients. Like most people, I struggle with the ego trying to rule my life, when the bottom line is that sometimes you have to let go of that ego and face your shadow side

I think that facing our shadow side so that we can transform our lives into something more positive and healthy is the mission of the Sun in Scorpio.  But it is an intense ride, so most of us tend to welcome its departure.  Sagittarius has a much lighter, open vibe and is just what we need to usher us into the holiday season.  Happy Thanksgiving to all of my readers in the United States!

The nodes of the moon changed signs last week with the north node entering Virgo and the south node entering Pisces.  I am channeling that north node and Jupiter in Virgo energy by offering my Reiki services. Scorpio New Moon

The major astrological event of the week was the powerhouse New Moon in 19 degrees of Scorpio on November 11, 2015.  My tweets on November 11th reflected on the energy of that new moon:

Extremely powerful #NewMoon in Scorpio today that conjuncts Mercury & trines Chiron in Pisces.  Time to transform & heal old wounds.”

“#NewMoon in Scorpio today sextiles Pluto in Capricorn.  Let go of stagnant patterns and make a fresh start.  Feel the #Phoenix energy!”

We all know that new moons are about making fresh starts and implementing new plans, but when that new moon is in the sign of Scorpio, the intensity and incentive are ramped up a few more notches.  Scorpio likes to get to the bottom of things and doesn’t do anything half-heartedly.  The themes of a Scorpio new moon involve deep soul searching, reclaiming personal power by engaging in our passions, purging toxins and surrendering to the darker shadow feelings of rage, jealousy and obsession.  It is truly a time of letting go and transforming our inner stagnation and letting that inner phoenix rise from the ashes.

There were a lot of heavy hitting planets interacting with this new moon.  For starters, Mercury in Scorpio conjuncted it, affording us the opportunity to purge our old patterns of thinking and communicating that were based on fear or the need to control.  And Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio, sextiled that new moon, which was like a double whammy and adrenaline shot of energy to assist us in our path of transformation. Chiron in Pisces trined the new moon and opened the floodgates to facing our inner wounding. This may have caused many people to lash out in fear or anger.  This was an enlightening new moon, but it may have felt like a full moon with its emotional intensity.

We are not free of the effects of the Pluto Uranus squares of the past three years, and Uranus managed to chime in on this new moon as well to make its presence known.  Uranus in 17 degree of Aries formed a semi-sextile aspect to Chiron in 17 degrees of Pisces.  Most people are not that aware of semi-sextile aspects, considering them minor, but that is really not the case.  I was reminded this week of how a semi-sextile aspect functions on a very similar vibration to that of an inconjunct, which is 150 degrees.  Uranus in Aries is a very clear indicator that unexpected events are quickly becoming the norm. I am extremely familiar with the inconjunct or quincunx aspect because I have a natal moon in Gemini/Saturn in Scorpio inconjunct.  While the main theme of the inconjunct is adjustment, other themes of the inconjunct include the ideal vs. the real, the balance between wish fulfillment and responsibility, trade-offs, compromise, review, frustration, lack of moderation, an inability to say no and a compulsive need to prove oneself.  Uranus was a key player in this new moon by forcing us to trust our intuition and bear witness to our forms of reactive behaviors and transform them into more constructive responses to situations that triggered our old wounds with its semi-sextile aspect to Chiron in Pisces.

If you would like to learn more about the inconjunct and semi-sextile aspects, I highly recommend the book Understanding Aspects The Inconjunct by Alan Epstein.  It will blow you away with its revelations of our inner strengths and weaknesses.

The north node of the moon is moving into Virgo on November 13th and this will place more of an emphasis on providing service to others and releasing our feelings of inadequacy and inclinations to withdraw or play the victim.  We will also get one final blast from Mercury in Scorpio conjunct the Scorpio Sun in 24 degrees on November 17th.  This aspect is conjunct my Venus in the 2nd house, so I am anticipating something big that day.

I am channeling that north node and Jupiter in Virgo energy by offering my Reiki services. Venus Comes Home to Libra

Venus enters its home sign of Libra on November 8th and will stay there until December 4th when it moves into the deep, penetrating sign of Scorpio.  Venus rules Libra and Taurus, so it will be very comfortable in Libra as it focuses on balance and harmony in relationships.  Charm is the name of the game with Venus in Libra and we are going to feel in major people pleasing mode with this transit.  Idealism about love will be prevalent as we seek balance in our personal affairs.  It will also be a boon for artistic and creative endeavors.

When Venus enters Libra on November 8th it will also conjunct the north node in Libra.  This aspect will help guide us towards the future in relationships as we find it easier to engage in tactful communication and a sense of cooperation versus competiveness in relationships.  Venus conjunct the north node is automatically opposing the south node of the moon, which in turn helps us to release the past.

We are wrapping up the lessons of the north node in Libra and the south node in Aries before the north and south nodes move into the Virgo/Pisces axis on Friday, November 13th.  The themes for the north node in Libra and south node in Aries pertain to learning to get along and releasing the combative, fighting tendencies that tend to crop up and destroy relationships.  We are literally in the home stretch of this transit that began when the north node entered the sign of Libra on February 19, 2014.  Think back to what was going on in your relationships back then and if things have changed in terms of reaching more balance and compromise.

When the north node moves into Virgo and the south node into Pisces on November 13th, we will have new lessons to learn.  This transit will last until May 9, 2017, so we have plenty of time to work on those lessons.  The north node in Virgo guides us into the future by requiring us to get grounded, pay attention to details and come up with practical solutions while releasing the victim/martyr role and urge to escape.  The south node always seems to have a stronger pull on us because it is literally the path of least resistance and what we are inherently comfortable with.  Jupiter will be in Virgo until September 9, 2016 and Neptune will be in Pisces until 2025, so don’t count out the influence of these planets.

We have been the recipient of a lot of Virgo energy the past month with Mars, Venus and Jupiter in Virgo, but that particular Virgo party is ending. We do have the north node in Virgo jumping into the mix on November 13th, which will have a very different feel.  Jupiter will remain in Virgo, but Venus enters Libra on November 8th and Mars follows suit on November 12th, the day after the new moon in Scorpio.  Mars will be in Libra until January 3, 2016. And then Mars will feel right at home in the sign of Scorpio. Despite the fact that Mars and Venus will be together in Libra for a few weeks, Mars is not a happy camper in the sign of Libra.  Mars is the planet of action that thrives on competition and conflict, and Libra is a sign that tends to be conflict averse and somewhat indecisive.   This can literally paralyze our ability to act if we overthink issues.  So forewarned is forearmed…

I am also looking forward to next week’s new moon in Scorpio on November 11th in 19 degrees of Scorpio, which is exactly conjunct my Scorpio sun.  I am hoping it will be an important year ahead for me and energize me to seize the qualities of bravery, courage and boldness that a Scorpio new moon symbolizes.

I am channeling that Jupiter in Virgo energy by offering my Reiki services.
