Mercury, Mars and Jupiter Stir the Pot in the Week Between Eclipses

 

Well, we are in that awkward week between eclipses.  We had a Solar Eclipse in Leo on August 12 and the next one will be a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on August 28. In the meantime, Mercury in Leo, Mars in Cancer and Jupiter are playing.  Mercury recently entered Leo on August 9 and Mars entered Cancer on August 11.

On August 15, Mercury and Jupiter are conjunct in 10 degrees of Leo.  This is a real feel-good aspect that can bring good news, optimism, generosity and expansive thinking.  We are definitely seeing the big picture.  Communication could have a dramatic flair and be somewhat exaggerated.  Just be mindful not to promise more than you can deliver and it should be a highly enjoyable day.

Mars in Cancer starts acting up on August 16 when it is inconjunct Pluto in 3 degrees of Aquarius.  This can make us act compulsively as our need for power and control has the potential to undermine .us.  It also has a strong theme of power struggles.  Mars and Pluto are heavy hitters and they are definitely not comfortable when they are 150 degrees apart.  Try not to manipulate people on this day.  Hidden feelings are getting churned up, and it might be best to reflect on them before acting as inconjuncts tend to require some adjustments.  Don't ignore emotional upsets though because you could experience headaches, muscle tightness or digestive issues.  Another possible manifestation is the tendency to drift away from social connections that don't feel right.

We have a mixed bag astrologically speaking on August 17. Mars in Cancer is squaring Neptune in 4 degrees of Aries.  This creates tension between drive to act and a fog of illusion by playing out in confusion, deception, lies and lack of faith.  Our energy levels could be lowered too.  It's much easier to feel overwhelmed by stress with Mars squaring Neptune.  And try not to make any major decisions now because our judgment is somewhat foggy now. There is also a tendency to play the martyr or savior role.  But Mars squaring Neptune can spur our creativity, so run with it if you feel so inspired.

Venus in Libra is forming a supportive sextile to Jupiter in 10 degrees of Leo on the 17th.  It's always fun when the two benefic planets get together.  This highlights themes of growth, good fortune, and socializing.  If you are single, get out there and mingle because you could meet someone new when the planets associated with love and luck hang out.  Travel (associated with Jupiter) is also possible, so don't rule out a short trip. It could be quite enjoyable and a welcome break. Charm and social ease are flowing freely on this day.  Just be mindful not to overindulge because there literally can be too much of a good thing.  Sextiles are considered to be positive aspects because they bring opportunities but you need to act on them to reap the benefits they present. Otherwise, if you snooze, you lose with sextiles.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Uranus and Pluto are Moving Backwards and A New Moon in Virgo

 

The month of September will start off with the proverbial bang as it thrusts us deeper into retrograde season.  Uranus stations retrograde in 27 degrees of Taurus on September 1 and doesn't go direct until January 30, 2025 in 23 degrees of Taurus.  Uranus is the planet that represents sudden change and rebellion.  When Uranus is retrograde, we can be facing more internal than external changes in our lives.  We can still be wanting to break free of restraints but it will be on a psychological level.  I have Uranus retrograde natally, so it is energy that I am familiar with.  Uranus retrograde is a time to contemplate what types of changes we want to make and open our minds up to new possibilities.  Uranus retrograde will be nowhere near as disruptive as the recent Mercury retrograde and we can all be grateful for that.

I can tell you that anyone who has planets in 26-28 degrees of the fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio will feel the need more intensely to bust out of confining situations.  When Uranus stations retrograde, it will be exactly opposing my natal Ceres in 27 degrees of Scorpio, squaring my natal Pluto in Leo in October and opposing my natal retrograde Venus in Scorpio from late November through mid-December.  So once again, I will be having the full experience of what happens when a planet is retrograde.

Pluto has been retrograde since May 2 when it stationed in 2 degrees of Aquarius, but on September 1 it will move back into 29 degrees of Capricorn where it stays until November 19.  Pluto will move into direct motion on October 11, but it will still be at 29 degrees of Capricorn.  This is the last pass of Pluto in Capricorn for nearly 230 years and I can only surmise that there will be intense pressure to transform our structures and power imbalances.  There could also be some last gasp attempts to cling to the old power systems.  The Presidential election in the United States could get really ugly but I am sure that does not come as a big surprise. to anyone. Corruption could be revealed during this period.  And the fact that Pluto remains in 29 degrees, the anaretic degree, of Capricorn only serves to underscore the fact that we are winding up a cycle that began in 2008 before Pluto re-enters Aquarius on November 19 for another 20 years.  Hopefully that can indeed usher in a period of power to the people.  But just remember that anyone with planets in the late degrees of the cardinal signs of Capricorn, Aries, Cancer and Libra as well as anyone with planets in 0-2 degrees of the fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio will be feeling this influence intensely.  And I am also in the line of fire for this one with my Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer and Neptune in Libra, plus my Mercury in 0 degrees of Scorpio.

We do have a delightful New Moon in 11 degrees of Virgo on September 2.  New Moons are traditionally associated with planting the seeds for our intentions and Virgo is the sign ruled by Mercury, so it possible to have a fresh start in issues pertaining to communication, transportation, health, work and daily routines. Virgo is also mutable earth, which can be more practical and adapts well to getting organized, purifying and detoxing.  The New Moon in Virgo will be opposing Saturn in 16 degrees of Pisces, which can bring in some rules around health and the virus.  No one likes to hear it, but COVID has been surging lately and there is a new vaccine available.  Mercury in Leo will be exactly trining Chiron in 22 degrees of Aries on the New Moon, which should make it easier to communicate with others and express our vulnerability.  So feel free to set those intentions on this last New Moon before eclipse season kicks off in October.

On September 3, we have a somewhat problematic square between Mars in Gemini and Neptune in Pisces.  Both planets are in 29 degrees of their respective signs, so here we go again with that anaretic degree theme.  Anger can be an issue on this day, as can confusion,, deception, lies and guilt.  Suspicion, jealousy and hypochondria are other potential manifestations of this aspect.  Just be mindful that if something sounds too good to be true on this day, it's probably best not to act on it.

Mars Squares Neptune Take Two and a Shift to More Mutable Energy with the Sun and a New Moon in Sagittarius

 

We are still standing and surviving as we near the end of Scorpio season.  Miraculously, we have survived the latest round of eclipses in Scorpio and Taurus that occurred on October 25 and November 8.  Granted, the dust is still clearing but we are coming out of these powerhouse eclipses stronger and ready for transformation.  The Phoenix is rising from the ashes! On a personal level, I experienced the full spectrum.  The Solar Eclipse on October 25 in 2 degrees of Scorpio conjuncted my natal Neptune in Libra and Mercury in Scorpio in my 1st house and I contracted COVID for the second time.  But by the time the Lunar Eclipse in 16 degrees of Taurus opposing my Sun in Scorpio and squaring my Mars in Aquarius happened on November 8, I was feeling much better so that eclipse literally cleared the decks for me and removed what I no longer needed. I still have a little cough and some fatigue but I am on the road to recovery and rebirth.  COVID, be gone!

On November 19, retrograde Mars in Gemini is squaring Neptune in 22 degrees of Pisces for the second time.  The first time was on October 11 when both planets were in 23 degrees of their respective signs.  Mars was direct back then and Neptune was retrograde.  Now both planets are retrograde, but Neptune will be stationing direct on December 3.  This will not be an easy day because there will be plenty of lies, deceit and a foggy vibe.  False information and inaccurate news will run rampant as feelings of confusion, frustration and disillusionment will prevail.  It doesn't help that the Sun is still in Scorpio during this time.  Try to look at it as the last remnants of eclipse season.  If you have any pressing health issues, please attend to them at this time.  We will get another hit of Mars in Gemini squaring Neptune in Pisces on March 14, 2023 but both planets will be direct then.  And this could be easier because I subscribe to the theory that the third time is the charm with recurring aspects.

I know that I say it every year, but I am thrilled that the Sun is finally going to say sayonara to Scorpio on November 22.  There is just so much intensity that even a heavy-duty Scorpio can endure.  Before the Sun leaves Scorpio, it forms a beautiful and flowing trine to Jupiter in 28 degrees of Pisces on November 20.  This will help us to sense the light that is around and release old attachments and resentments.  Scorpio is a sign renowned for its resentments and grudges, but Jupiter is very comfortable in Pisces and can be quite compassionate and sensitive.  So the Scorpio Sun can go out on a high note.  This will also reactivate the energy we experienced on April 12 when Jupiter and Neptune were conjunct in 23 degrees of Pisces.  So Jupiter in Pisces can really complete its mission of blessing us with a more spiritual understanding of life.

The Sun will move into the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius on November 22.  It will join Venus and Mercury, who entered Sagittarius on the 16th and 17th of November. Passion, an increased sense of optimism, enthusiasm and an empowered state of being will be the new way of life for the next month. Our focus will be more outward directed as we seek more of an awareness of the world around us and attempt to see the big picture.  It's a major shift from the intensely focused and private fixed watery Scorpio energy.  Vive la difference!

We will really hit our stride with the Sagittarius vibe on November 23, 2022 with the New Moon in 1 degree of Sagittarius.  Just take a look at that chart; it's what I call a mutable mash.  The Sun, Mercury and Venus have left Scorpio for Sagittarius, Mars is in Gemini, Neptune, Jupiter and Juno are in Pisces, Ceres is in Virgo and even the Ascendant for the time of the New Moon, 5:57 p.m., is in Gemini.  Okay, we still have Uranus in Taurus, Saturn in Aquarius and the Nodes in Taurus and Scorpio, but we finally have some room to breathe and set our intentions for that new reality. New Moons are a perfect time to set our intentions for the future and Sagittarius is a very future-oriented sign. Jupiter is still in Pisces, but it is forming an out-of-sign and element trine to both the Sun and Moon in Sagittarius which can grant us some luck in moving forward.

Jupiter is moving stationary direct in 28 degrees of Pisces on the New Moon, which makes it even more powerful.  It increases our vision for a bigger future.  Freedom and truth will be major themes on the New Moon with Jupiter going direct in Pisces.  Jupiter is finishing up its run in Pisces and will leave for good to cruise through Aries on December 20, 2022.  Just be mindful of the shadow side of Jupiter in Pisces and don't get caught up in a need for escapism or overindulgence.  This should be a pleasant time as the eclipse energy is cleared.

The Cardinal Signs Are Calling the Shots as Pluto Stations Direct in Capricorn, A Full Moon in Aries and Mercury Re-Enters Libra

Pluto will be turning around in 26 degrees of Capricorn on October 8.  Pluto has been retrograde since April 29, 2022, when it stationed retrograde in 28 degrees of Capricorn.  Pluto turning direct has a strong theme of transformation.  If you have any planets around 26 degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, mark my words that you are going to be encountering major issues pertaining to control and transformation. There could very well be  some major power plays enacted on the world stage.  It's literally going to be a breakdown to a breakthrough!  Once again, I am in the thick of things.  I have my natal Neptune in 26 degrees of Libra in my 1st house, so I am not escaping this by any means.  I also have my natal retrograde Uranus in 27 degrees of Cancer in my 10th house taking a hit.  Is it any wonder that I am an astrologer, psychic and healer with this placement?

Just remember that whenever a planet stations it is in a very powerful position and its effect will be intensified.  So the power planet is stationing direct and we need to be careful...

On October 9, we have a Full Moon in 16 degrees of Aries that will definitely ratch up the emotional intensity level with the effects of the Pluto station still present.  Full Moons tend to be a time of closure, completion and big reveals.  Pluto in Capricorn could be revealing some secrets on this Full Moon. Think back to the New Moon in 11 degrees of Aries on April 1, 2022.  Is anything coming to a cycle of completion for you?  This Full Moon in Aries is also conjunct Chiron in 14 degrees of Aries, indicating that themes of illness, health, healing and old wounds could surface.  Uranus in 18 degrees of Taurus is also conjunct the North Node in 15 degrees in Taurus, which could see us dealing with financial turbulence for the next couple of months.  We are headed into eclipse season, with a Solar Eclipse in 2 degrees of Scorpio on October 25 and a Lunar Eclipse on November 8 in 16 degrees of Taurus.  The signs of Taurus and Scorpio are money signs and with the South Node in Scorpio, we are being called to release anything that is toxic.  Watch out for some action with investments, loans and mortgages.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and it is renowned for being a warrior, as well as being very assertive and resilient.  Keep this in mind as to where it hits your chart.  It can be a time of releasing old fears and embracing our courage to move ahead because Aries is also a cardinal sign and loves to initiate.   The Sun and Venus in Libra are opposing the Full Moon in Aries, which can have the potential for achieving a peace treaty.  I know, it must be my Neptune in Libra speaking, hoping for the best possible outcome.  The Full Moon in Aries is also forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in 18 degrees of Aquarius, which has been very close to an exact square with Uranus in Taurus again (the prevailing aspect of 2021), underscoring the theme of preserving the old versus embracing the new.  So perhaps some constructive action will take place.

What else is happening on this Full Moon?  Mars in Gemini is energizing the mind and all of the information that is circulating, but it is squaring Mercury in 27 degrees of Virgo, so there is a lot of analyzing of this information.  But Mercury in Virgo is also opposing Neptune in 23 degrees of Pisces, which cans serve to energize the fog. Never fear, though because Mercury in Virgo is trining Pluto in Capricorn, which will provide the urge to dig deep and research the truth.  We will want to get to the bottom of things.  Don't be surprised if you hear more news about inflation on the Full Moon because Mercury in Virgo is still in opposition to Jupiter in 1 degree of Aries.  That also means the Sun and Venus in Libra are opposing Jupiter in Aries, so that contributes to the theme of excess.  Try to be as objective as possible, which probably is easier said than done.

On October 10, Mercury re-enters Libra until October 29.  The recent Mercury retrograde started on September 9 in 8 degrees of Libra, so we could be going over some old ground. It's true that Mercury rules Virgo (in addition to Gemini) and is comfortable there, although it can be very analytical and critical.  When Mercury is in Libra, we are inclined to be more diplomatic, friendly and willing to compromise. Negotiations tend to run smoothly and we are more rational in our approach to relationships.  The shadow side of  Mercury in Libra is a tendency to vacillate in our decision-making process as are able to see both sides of a given situation.

On October 12, Mars in Gemini is exactly squaring Neptune in 23 degrees of Pisces.  This is going to be one of those low energy days that can be accompanied by suspicion, lies, paranoia and scandal.  Gossip is also likely.  The best way to deal with this energy is to mind your own business and try not to tackle any new projects or lash out because the truth isn't clear and our energy levels are low.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. April Ends with on a Heavy Note as Pluto and Saturn Retrograde and Mars Squares Neptune

The pace is continuing to get more intense as the month of April comes to a close.  On April 24, 2019, Pluto stationed retrograde in 23 degrees of Capricorn and will remain retrograde until October 3, 2019, when it stations direct in 20 degrees of Capricorn.  On that day I tweeted:

Pluto retrograde represents an opportunity for inner transformation of our power and control issues.  Just remember that it is not a time to get into power tripping; it’s a time to eliminate any controlling habits that are no longer serving our best interests.  Don’t be surprised if fated events occur that reinforce those controlling habits that need to be kicked to the curb.  When Pluto is retrograde we may find ourselves pushed to search and destroy whatever is blocking our personal growth.

The bottom line with the transit of Pluto retrograde is that it is a time to confront our shadow side.  We all have inner darkness and this is prime time for facing it and releasing any toxic obsessions.  Pluto retrograde invites us to welcome transformation and change.  It represents a shift in consciousness that allows us to see beyond illusion and obtain a glimpse of a new reality that is healthier. This year it is especially complicated because we are headed towards a Saturn Pluto conjunction that will be exact in 22 degrees of Capricorn on January 12, 2020 but many of us may already be feeling its influence.

On April 27, 2019, Mars in Gemini is squaring Neptune in Pisces in 17 degrees of their respective signs.  Squares are inherently challenging, and this one is no exception.  It will feature confusion, low energy, and bouts of discouragement.  It is the original “fake news” aspect, as it can also be accompanied by deceit and scandals.  We need to be mindful of addictions and fantasies which are Neptune’s territory.  And with Mars involved, these addictions and fantasies could very well involve sex.  But this aspect does offer us the opportunity to find the courage (Mars) to release our victim role (Neptune), which can be very empowering if we face the challenges of this aspect.  Mars in Gemini will be conjunct my natal moon in Gemini in my 8^th house, so this should be an interesting time for me…

Saturn joins the retrograde party of Pluto and Jupiter on April 29, 2019.  It will station retrograde in 20 degrees of Capricorn and remain retrograde until September 18, 2019 when it stations direct in 13 degrees of Capricorn.  Saturn is truly the planet of karma and karma will be calling on us during its retrograde transit big time.  The themes associated with Saturn retrograde include limitations, restrictions, anxiety, fears and responsibilities.  We may be forced to assume additional responsibilities if we haven’t been stepping up. Saturn retrograde is a time of reckoning as we are forced to review our career, life direction, consolidate our resources and weed out what we don’t need. It may not be the best time to be moving forward with any major endeavors but it is an opportunity to reassess what is and isn’t working in our lives.  If we have been acting responsibly in our lives, we may fare better with this transit than those who have been shirking their responsibilities.  It also helps to know which house Saturn is transiting in your chart.  For me, it is my 4^th house of home, family, psychological roots and beginnings and endings in life.  Both Pluto and Saturn have been within striking distance of a conjunction with my natal Chiron in 24 degrees of Capricorn which will be exact in late January 2020.  So I am very much under the influence of this upcoming Saturn Pluto conjunction in Capricorn.
