Saturn and Neptune Are Conjunct in Aries, Venus and Jupiter Party and Mercury Retrograde in Pisces

 

This is it.  Today, on February 20, Saturn and Neptune are finally conjunct in 0 degrees of Aries. Saturn and Neptune are only conjunct every 36 years, so this is a really big deal for the entire world, both collectively and personally. The themes of a Saturn-Neptune conjunction involve testing faith and dissolving structures.

The last time we had a Saturn-Neptune conjunction was in 1989 in Capricorn, which is also a cardinal sign.  In 1989 the Berlin Wall fell, the Cold War ended, the Tiananmen Square protests occurred, Nelson Mandela was released in 1990 and the World Wide Web was invented.

This conjunction is at 0 degrees of Aries, which is extremely rare.  It denotes a whole new beginning and the end of an era.  We are bidding farewell to a collective story.  It's time to reimagine our future, but we need to be responsible about creating it.  Structure and dreams are hooking up.  Saturn is the planet associated with structures, restrictions, delays and responsibilities while Neptune ins the planet of idealism, intuition, imagination and compassion.  They are strange bedfellows, to say the least.  Saturn and Neptune have not been conjunct in Aries since 1702.

What can we expect from this Saturn-Neptune conjunction? There should be major technological advances, especially with AI. We should utilize this energy by becoming more disciplined about our spiritual practices and trust our intuition more.  But we need to be mindful that we will probably experience a crisis of faith.  Aries is a cardinal fire sign, not exactly known for its patience or ability to exercise self-control.  It runs on impulse.  Saturn is considered to be in fall in Aries, so we really need to learn how to bridge the gap from blind leaps to calculated risks.

On February 22, Venus in Pisces is trining Jupiter in 15 degrees of Cancer.  This transit represents a welcome respite from the frenetic pace of February as the two benefic planets, each in their sign of exaltation, have a very friendly meet-up.  Feel free to indulge in whatever  nourishes your soul.  It's also quite favorable for socializing and feeling more optimistic about the future.

The first Mercury retrograde of 2026 commences on February 26 when Mercury stations retrograde in 22 degrees of Pisces.  It remains retrograde until March 20, when it goes direct in 8 degrees of Pisces.  Let's face it, Mercury is not that comfortable in Pisces to begin with since Mercury rules Virgo and Gemini.  Clarity is kind of missing in action in Pisces even when it is direct.  Our thinking and decision-making is less rational because we are relying on intuition and emotions.

So what can we expect when Mercury is retrograde in Pisces?  There will be deep emotional processing, blurred boundaries and creative revisions.  Be prepared for lots of reflection and over idealism in additional to the usual technological glitches, communication and transportation delays.  Try not to make any major decisions if you can help it.  Mercury has been in its retrograde shadow since February 11 and although it goes direct on March 20, it won't fully clear the retrograde shadow until April 9.  The mutable signs of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius will take the biggest hit from this Mercury retrograde.  I am a Scorpio, but my Moon is in Gemini, so I am definitely in the line of fire on this one...

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. A Full Moon in Gemini and Mercury Goes Direct in Sagittarius

 

Mark the day of December 15 on your calendar, folks.  There are two major astrological events occurring on this day.  We have a Full Moon in 23 degrees of Gemini at 4:02 a.m. and Mercury goes direct in 6 degrees of Sagittarius at 3:56 p.m.  Ironically, Mercury started the year 2024 retrograde in Sagittarius and stationed direct in 22 degrees of Sagittarius on January 1, which was the degree it stationed retrograde on November 25, 2024.

A Full Moon in Gemini is going to give us lots to think about because Gemini loves to learn, think and talk.  Communication is its thing and big reveals are possible. But this Full Moon is squaring Neptune in 27 degrees of Pisces, so we could wind up feeling confused or inspired. Or maybe a little bit of both. The Sun in Sagittarius and Moon in Gemini are involved in a mutable T-square with Neptune in Pisces. This pretty much guarantees a great deal of mental stress on December 15.  We can be overly influenced by the opinion of others.  This is what I call a mutable mash because in addition to the mutable T-square involving the Sun, Moon and Neptune, we also have Saturn in Pisces and Jupiter in Gemini.  We can quite literally be emotionally all over the place and feeling rather unstable.  The mutable signs are Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius, so if you have any planets between 23 and 27 degrees of these signs, you will really feel this Full Moon big-time.  The saving grace of mutable signs is that they are adaptable and can go with the flow, so count on this to get you through the day.

Don't be surprised if this Full Moon in Gemini feels like an information overload.  Jupiter in Gemini loves to expand whatever it touches, and in this case it is information.  It can difficult to discern the truth with this mutable T-square.  The Sun in Sagittarius is also forming an irritating inconjunct to Uranus in 24 degrees of Taurus, which will increase our need for freedom and authenticity.  It is a very rebellious vibe.  Neptune in Pisces is a heavy hitter in this Full Moon too.  It can generate more compassion as well as confusion. But the perk of Neptune in Pisces during this Full Moon is that we should pay attention to our dreams and our intuition.  Neptune in 27 degrees of Pisces is also widely conjunct the North Node in 2 degrees of Aries, which can help us make our dreams a reality if we make the effort.

Mercury will station direct in 6 degrees of Sagittarius on December 15 and it will be trining Mars in 5 degrees of Leo. Mars is retrograde, which occurs every two years.  Mercury trining Mars is an energizing influence and can deliver urges for adventure, a vacation and just plain escapism.  I don't know about you, but I am very happy that Mercury is finally going direct.  Of course, when a planet stations, either direct or retrograde, its power is magnified.  So we can pretty much expect a great deal of news to be circulating on this day.  And keep in mind that while Mercury is officially direct, it doesn't clear its retrograde shadow until January 2, 2025 when it hits 22 degrees of Sagittarius.  I am beginning to wonder what the significance of 22 degrees of Sagittarius is to the year 2024.  I mean, we began the year in that degree.  I don't personally have anything aspected, but it might be very interesting if anyone reading this had planets in the mutable signs around 22 degrees.  Food for thought...

On December 19, we have a really delightful aspect that fosters the holiday spirit.  Venus in Aquarius is exactly trining Jupiter in 14 degrees of Gemini.  Jupiter is conjunct my Moon in Gemini in the 8th house, so I wonder what it will have in store for me. The trine between Venus and Jupiter (known as the benefics) has themes of optimism, good cheer and love.  It emphasizes socializing, can mend relationships and is quite favorable for shopping.  So take advantage of this day and use it wisely to purchase any gifts that you need to or attend a party.

Eclipse Season is Here with a Potent Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on September 17

 

Eclipse season is officially here as we prepare for a partial Lunar Eclipse in 25 degrees of Pisces on September 17, 2024.  Lunar eclipses are like Full Moons on steroids and their effects can be felt for about six weeks before and after they occur.  So if you have been feeling very emotional recently, you have already been picking up on its vibe.

Before the actual eclipse occurs, we do have a delightful aspect to anticipate on September 15.  Venus in its home sign of Libra will be trining Jupiter in 20 degrees of Gemini.  This energy is perfect for relationships, socializing and the arts.  It can also emphasize the abundance in our lives.  Venus and Jupiter are known as the Benefics, so they tend to bring good fortune, love and beauty into our lives.  They get along quite well together, even more so with a trine aspect.

The main event, the Lunar Eclipse in 25 degrees of Pisces, occurs at 10:34 p.m. on September 17.  The last time we had a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces was on September 16, 2016 in 24 degrees of Pisces. You might want to reflect on what was going on for you back then.  Some of the same issues could resurface.  Full Moons do tend to represent endings and Pisces is the last sign in the zodiac, so this theme is reinforced.  Pisces is also a water sign, which ramps up the emotional nature of this eclipse.  We are definitely going to be dealing with themes of major changes, letting go and endings. And this is a Super Moon because the Moon is so close to the earth.

There is a great deal of emphasis on earth signs with this eclipse.  The Sun in Virgo is involved in a Grand Earth trine with Uranus in 27 degrees of Taurus and Pluto in 29 degrees of Capricorn.  Be prepared for a reality check with all of this earth energy.  But this also means that the Moon in Pisces is forming supportive sextiles to Uranus in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn, so positive changes are possible.

The Moon is also conjunct Neptune in 28 degrees of Pisces and this emphasizes themes of healing and creativity.  There could be big reveals about health issues during this eclipse. I wouldn't be surprised if news emerged about COVID.  Cases have been rising over the summer and there is a consensus that we could face another major outbreak at the end of this year.  And there are new vaccines available to combat the latest strains.  A Full Moon-Neptune conjunction can also indicate a reality shift, as all is not what it appears to be.

The Moon in Pisces is also opposing Mercury in 10 degrees of Virgo early in the morning, which can add to difficulties in expressing our feelings and the potential for confusion and arguments.  The Moon in Pisces also conjuncts Saturn in 15 degrees a few hours later and this entails a heavy theme of responsibility, as well as increasing the likelihood of feeling lonely and depressed.

Jupiter in 20 degrees of Gemini is also involved in the eclipse, as it features in a mutable T-square with the Sun in Virgo and Moon in Pisces.  When the Moon is squaring Jupiter, we can be inclined towards extravagance and too much of a good thing.  We can also feel like engaging in some escapist behavior with the Moon being conjunct Neptune in Pisces.  T-squares are challenging configurations, but they do serve to motivate us to change.  And the name of the game with eclipses is change. It's just that there are a lot of moving parts with this eclipse.  I think that everyone will be profoundly affected by this eclipse, whether they are mutable signs (Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius), earth signs or water signs.  Don't rule out Uranus in Taurus as a wild card in this eclipse, even though it is in favorable aspect to the Sun in Virgo by trine and to the Moon by sextile. Surprises are bound to happen. Try to remember that whatever we need to let to go of will pave the way for new beginnings.

The Sun and Mercury Make Some Major Moves Before They Enter Scorpio

 

The Sun and Mercury are winding up their time in Libra before they enter Scorpio, but they are both making grand exits.  On October 20, the Sun and Mercury are conjunct in 26 degrees of Libra.  This aspect will cause increased mental stimulation and deliver new perspectives.  It is exactly conjunct my natal Neptune in my 1st house and also conjunct my natal Mercury in 0 degrees of Scorpio, so I suspect that it will be an enlightening day for me.

Mercury in Libra is exactly squaring Pluto in 27 degrees of Capricorn on October 20 as well.  The tension of the square could deliver a crisis, but we can be guaranteed of deep thinking and intense interactions.  Be brave on this day and remember that we very well might need to make a psychological choice.

On October 21, the Sun in Libra is squaring Pluto in 27 degrees of Capricorn.  I happen to have a natal Sun/Pluto square in my chart in the fixed signs of Scorpio and Leo, so I am all too familiar with the ramifications of this aspect.  Sun squaring Pluto is all about power, control, and assertion, but it also can lead to major transformation if you can get past its potential for manipulative behavior.  Just warning you that this could be a tough day...

On October 22, Mercury enters the fixed water sign of Scorpio until November 10.  When Mercury is in Scorpio, our thoughts and communication are more probing and intense.  We seek to uncover hidden truths and will leave no stone unturned.  Our conversations will be deeper but can also be obsessive and sarcastic.  Scorpio is renowned for its stinger.  But we can be very persuasive and our words are very powerful.  Mercury in Scorpio is also trining Saturn in 0 degrees of Pisces on this day.  This can be a very positive influence, as our powers of concentration are strong, as is our attention to detail.  Common sense is readily available and we can make long-term plans.  Quite literally, we are accountable for our actions in a good way.  This can be a very grounding influence.

We have one another prominent aspect featured on October 22.  Venus in Virgo is trining Jupiter in 12 degrees of Taurus.  This is another very positive aspect that tends to bring good cheer, optimism, love, socializing and a penchant for shopping.  After all, it is a meeting of the two benefics.  The only potential downside to this aspect is that Venus is in fall in Virgo, and it can be prone to being somewhat stingy and critical.  Just be mindful of these qualities and we should be just fine.

On October 23, the Sun enters Scorpio and we are officially in Scorpio season.  Our focus shifts to desire, passion and extremes of feeling. We can be very strong-willed now (Scorpio is the fixed water sign, after all) and intensity is the name of the game.  It can also be a time of immense healing and transformation, so be mindful of that.  The shadow side of the Sun in Scorpio is jealousy, vindictiveness and manipulation.  I am sure that you have been warned to never cross a Scorpio or you will live to regret it.  Scorpio can be the most loyal friend in the world but they can also be your worst enemy.  It really is true about the extremes of emotion...

The Sun in Scorpio is trining Saturn in Pisces on October 24.  This is a day of patience, persistence and determination.  Set your goals and you just might find that you can reach them more easily than usual.  Even if you assume added responsibilities on this day, it won't feel stressful.  You might score a promotion, gain recognition for your abilities and wind up feeling better about yourself.  This aspect is a boon for higher self-esteem.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. I also wanted to note that in an ironic twist of fate, the latest variant of COVID is EG.5, with a nickname of Eris.  Sound familiar--the Goddess of Discord?  Apparently, COVID cases and hospitalizations are on the rise...

I urge everyone to engage in massive amounts of self-care and follow the protective measures of washing your hands frequently, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, wearing a face mask when necessary and staying home if you are sick. And get a vaccine. The newest vaccine is available and I encourage you to get it to protect yourself. I repeat, you do not want to get this virus! I speak from personal experience and consider myself very fortunate to have survived Coronavirus twice. Stay safe and healthy, everyone!
