Jupiter in Libra and Saturn Neptune Square Take 3

Despite a Mercury retrograde in Virgo, September is proving to be quite the active month.  Sandwiched in between two eclipses on the 1st (a solar eclipse in Virgo) and an upcoming lunar eclipse in Pisces on the 16th, Jupiter changes signs on the 9th and we have the third and final Saturn in Sagittarius Neptune in Pisces square on September 10, 2016.

Jupiter moving out of the sign of Virgo, its detriment, into Libra, is the best news of the month!  I don’t know about you, but for the past year I have felt literally exhausted from having to work so hard for expansion and growth.  Jupiter didn’t exactly feel like Santa Claus as far as I was concerned.  Jupiter in Libra has a kinder, gentler vibe because it has more of a tendency to attract beneficial growth through help from others.  Libra is the sign of partnerships and fairness.  Let’s not forget those scales of balance, either! Jupiter in Libra will help bring some balance to love.  Saturn in Libra from 2009-2012 may have tested and broken up many long-term relationships, but I would wager that Jupiter in Libra will see a major growth spurt in new marriages and committed relationships.

Jupiter in Libra also brings some much-needed relief and blessing to the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn after the pummeling they have received as a result of the Uranus Pluto squares of 2012-2015. Libra gets the biggest boost from Jupiter in Libra because sun sign Libras will experience a Jupiter/Sun conjunction during the Jupiter in Libra transit that lasts until October 10, 2017. But Libra rising folks like myself will also benefit through new opportunities and attention to the self.  Jupiter will conjunct my ascendant and enter my 1st house on December 1, 2016 and I couldn’t be happier about that!  Anyone with Jupiter in Libra will really hit the astrological jackpot, so to speak, because they will experience a Jupiter Return, which only comes around every 12 years. Think back to what was going on in your life the last time Jupiter was in Libra, September 2004- October 2005.

Even the square and opposition aspects with Jupiter in Libra will be relatively benign because they tend to provide a gentler kick in the butt to get us moving and make our own luck. I promise you that it is not like Saturn’s relentless prodding and restrictive nature. The caveats with Jupiter are that if you snooze you lose, so you have to take advantage of opportunities and anyone with a sun, moon, ascendant or Venus in Libra may be prone to weight gain because Jupiter loves to expand in these areas of life and let’s face it, Libra loves the finer things in life.  If you are not sure if you have any planets in Libra, please consider getting an astrological reading now to see what goodies Jupiter in Libra could be bringing you in the next year.

On September 10, 2016 Saturn in Sagittarius will square Neptune in Pisces in 10 degrees of the respective signs.  This is the third and final square of these two planets.  Their dance began with the first square on November 26, 2015 and the second one occurred on June 17, 2016.  The Saturn/Neptune square is also the last phase of a cycle that began in 1989 with their conjunction in Capricorn.  Back in 1989 the Berlin Wall came down and human rights issues surfaced in Tiananmen Square. Global events took on a huge significance back then, as they are now.

This aspect is an awkward, difficult dance between these two planets because they are so inherently different.  Saturn tests our physical reality by placing limitations in our path and in the sign of Sagittarius our beliefs are facing tests of that faith that tend to manifest in fear and anxiety.  Neptune in Pisces, on the other hand, opens us up to new levels of compassion, forgiveness and serenity.  Neptune rules Pisces and we can’t afford to forget that during this aspect; Neptune in Pisces has a tendency to see things through rose-colored glasses, be overly idealistic and escapist. The Saturn Neptune square does offer us the opportunity to release and dissolve old patterns of being the martyr or victim.  But it requires hard work and therein lies the rub.  I swear that a key theme of this aspect is to trust in the process.  And this is something easier said than done for most of us.  The fact that this aspect occurs in mutable signs contributes to the amorphous feeling, the sense that we can’t put our finger on what is real and how to implement those much needed changes.

The north node in Virgo has an underlying theme of service to others.  In that spirit of pursuing my path as a healer, I am still channeling that Virgo north node energy by offering my Reiki services.  If you are in the Boston area, please consider getting a Reiki treatment at Acupuncture for Everyone in Copley Square to destress, revitalize and remove blockages to healing.  It’s a perfect way to start your weekend off and can also be described as a spa for the soul to boot!   Reiki is the most profound treatment for stress relief because it concentrates on CALMING your body.

For more information on my Reiki services, please see this page on my site:

For my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule for a treatment or have difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing distance Reiki sessions for them.  I have a conversation with them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages.  I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. If this appeals to you, please feel free to contact me by email at lindasim54@gmail.com or call me at 617-304-2205. Additionally, I see clients at my home in Newton, Massachusetts and am generally available on weekends and evenings for your convenience.

Uranus Lends an Unpredictable Vibe to Capricorn Full Moon

Uranus in Aries is lending an unpredictable vibe to the upcoming Full Moon in Capricorn on July 19, 2016.  I know that many of you may think I have been preaching to the choir when I comment that the Uranus Pluto square of 2012-2015 is being activated this summer, but I have ample proof of it.  On July 18, 2016, the moon in Capricorn will conjunct Pluto in 15 degrees of Capricorn.  And on July 19th, the full moon in 27 degrees of Capricorn will square Uranus in 24 degrees of Aries.  The Cancer sun is emphasizing the Uranus Pluto square with the potential for sudden, disruptive events.  Old paradigms are being challenged as a battle ensues between the need for freedom versus control.  Uranus wants freedom and Pluto wants control.

Is it an astrological coincidence that the Republican National Convention begins on July 18, 2016?  I think not.  On that day the moon in Capricorn will conjunct Pluto in Capricorn, and I have no doubt there will be some power struggles ensuing during this convention.  And then we have a full moon in 27 degrees of Capricorn on July 19th which features both the sun in Cancer and moon in Capricorn squaring Uranus.

This is one loaded full moon.  The sun in Cancer represents our desire for emotional security, while Pluto in Capricorn represents our practical security in the form of government.  It’s no secret that we are dealing with a strong desire for freedom and change in this country, and many people feel the palpable instability. This could very well lead to taking some very big risks to ensure that freedom and change emerge victorious.  The election year of 2016 is quite unique and we haven’t gotten through the conventions yet, despite the fact that we have presumptive nominees for both parties.   But I also remember that the last time Pluto in Capricorn was during the American Revolution of 1776, so upheaval seems to be the name of the game politically. It’s no secret that Donald Trump has not exactly been warmly embraced or endorsed by the Republican Party so far, but he certainly typifies the Uranian energy that wants change in this country. But many question if the change he purports to symbolize is merely a return to the old outworn structures of government.  Time will tell…

One ongoing aspect that underpins the political scene is the Saturn in Sagittarius/Neptune in Pisces square.  It began on November 26, 2015, was exact again on June 17, 2016 and the final hit will occur on September 10, 2016 in 10 degrees of both signs. But its effects will be felt through October 2016.  A major theme of the Saturn Neptune square is making our dreams real by testing the truth.  Both in the United States and in the United Kingdom, the truth and integrity of our leaders are being tested.  Saturn loves to test; it is after all, the Lord of Karma and the Great Teacher.

While Uranus is definitely a major, albeit disruptive, player in this full moon, we can’t discount the more positive aspects that accompany it.  The full moon in 27 degrees of Capricorn does activate a Grand Water Trine involving the Sun in Cancer, Mars in Scorpio and Chiron in Pisces.  This is a deeply healing aspect embodying the themes of security, trust and acceptance of our deepest emotions.  If you have any water planets in 25 to 27 degrees, you will definitely be carried in the emotional tide of this full moon.  I have my Venus in Scorpio and a Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Cancer, so I am trying to remain as open as possible to whatever surprises occur during this full moon.  I literally have to walk my talk, so to speak!

Another positive aspect that this full moon in Capricorn makes is a trine to Jupiter in 20 degrees of Virgo, which sextiles Mars in 25 degrees of Scorpio and Chiron in 25 degrees of Pisces.  And Jupiter is trining Pluto in Capricorn to boot, so anyone with planets in 15-20 degrees of the earth signs may benefit through growth opportunities and abundance.

We do have a saving grace protecting us and guiding us in the form of the north node in Virgo conjunct Jupiter in Virgo.  We just have to keep the faith that whatever turmoil we experience is leading us into the place that our soul needs to be. The north node in Virgo has an underlying theme of service to others.  In that spirit of pursuing my path as a healer, I am channeling that north node and Jupiter in Virgo energy by offering my Reiki services.

Second Time Around for Saturn Neptune Square and Sagittarius Full Moon

It’s do-over season, folks.  Between June 17th and June 20th, we have opportunities to have a do-over in all matters ruled by Sagittarius.  Sagittarius is associated with the search for truth, adventure, travel and wisdom while being challenged in the area of tact.  That Sagittarian honesty can at times lead to downright bluntness. On June 17, 2016 Saturn in Sagittarius forms the second of three squares with Neptune in Pisces.  The first occurred on November 26, 2015 which was Thanksgiving Day in the United States.  Both Saturn and Neptune were direct in 7 degrees of their respective signs.  On June 17, 2016 both Saturn and Neptune are retrograde in 12 degrees of their respective signs.  The frustration we feel with both planets retrograde may have more internal than external ramifications. The third exact square between Saturn and Neptune occurs on September 10, 2016 in 10 degrees of both signs.  Saturn will be direct then but Neptune will remain retrograde.

And on June 20, 2016 we will have our second full moon in Sagittarius in 29 degrees, the first having occurred on May 21, 2016 in 1 degree of Sagittarius.  The 29th degree of any sign is frequently referred to as the Anaretic or critical degree.  It has a profound sense of urgency associated with it, as it is truly feeling like the last chance to get the lesson of that sign right. I have my Jupiter in 29 degrees of Cancer and I can attest to the veracity of that feeling.

The Saturn Neptune square is a deeply challenging aspect because it forces a major reality check.  Saturn is all about reality, hard work and structure.  It doesn’t have the moniker of the Taskmaster planet for nothing!  And Neptune loves its idealism, fantasy, spirituality and escapism. When these two planets tango, it becomes increasingly difficult, if not nearly impossible, to escape or remain in a state of denial.  Scattered illusions abound, as do feelings of confusion and depression.  Oh, yeah baby, Saturn is all about depression too.  Ask anyone who is undergoing a major Saturn transit and they will attest to that.  Another potential downside of this aspect is that artists, musicians and writers may experience creative blockages under the auspices of this aspect. Currently Neptune is transiting my 5th house of creativity and Saturn is camping out in my 2nd house of values and finances.  Is it any wonder that I am counting the days until Saturn is direct and out of my second house on November 6, 2016?

Saturn in Sagittarius squaring Neptune in Pisces is literally a battle royal between reality and idealism.  What a clash! Saturn in Sagittarius is putting us through our paces by presenting us with challenges and limitations in the process of making our dreams come true.  Michael Lutin nails the theme of the Saturn Neptune Square brilliantly with these words:  “Deep Look Where the Truth Becomes Lies and Lies Become the Truth and you cannot differentiate between crime and sin…..”

Check him out at:

And now a drum roll for the Full Moon in 29 degrees of Sagittarius on June 20, 2016. The themes of wisdom, the power of beliefs and expansion of consciousness re-emerge as the Gemini Sun’s curiosity faces off with the Sagittarius moon’s sharp instincts.  There could be a new big picture visible during this full moon.  This full moon widely trines Uranus in 22 degrees of Aries, which can trigger a jolt of awakening adrenaline when things happen fast. The moon in Sagittarius inspires us to trust our higher moral conscience to discern what is real and true for us personally.  The full moon in Sagittarius trines my Pluto in Leo in the 11th house, so this should be an interesting time to say the least…

The other planets are very active during this full moon. Venus entered the sign of Cancer on June 17th and the Sun enters Cancer on the evening of June 20th, marking the Summer Solstice.  Summer is officially here! And Mercury in Gemini is squaring off with Neptune in Pisces on June 20th, so pay attention to your dreams.  Mysticism, idealism and creativity can soar on that day.  The north node and Jupiter in Virgo are conjunct, emphasizing a theme of selfless service to the world.  And Neptune in Pisces is conjunct the south node so perhaps it will lift the veil over the fog of whatever is karmically holding us back.

If you need further proof that this is a time of do-overs, I’d like to share some words from astrologer Joseph Addeo regarding retrograde Mars in Scorpio that appeared in the June 14, 2016 NCGR newsletter:

“Mars retrograde is passing over the same late degrees of Scorpio that retrograde Saturn hit last summer.  In a nutshell, the challenges manifested from Saturn’s transit last summer area being actively reprocessed as Mars brings them back up for review and another chance for healing, emotional processing and transformation.  The summer has a déjà vu feeling in order to achieve a final purging and cleansing.  Then when all is said and done a new beginning can occur when Mars catches up to Saturn on August 24.”

Food for thought, n’est pas?  This is yet another indicator that we all may be forced to revisit an issue from the summer of 2015 that challenged us.  But we have the opportunity to move forward on August 24th when Mars and Saturn hook up in 7 degrees of Sagittarius on August 24, 2016.

The north node in Virgo has an underlying theme of service to others.  In that spirit of pursuing my path as a healer, I am channeling that north node and Jupiter in Virgo energy by offering my Reiki services.

The Lord of Karma Slows Us Down as Saturn Retrogrades in Sagittarius

They say that lunar eclipses are all about revelations and we are just coming off the heels of a lunar eclipse in 3 degrees of Libra on March 23, 2016.  Now we have Saturn in the truth seeking sign of Sagittarius stationing retrograde in 16 degrees of Sagittarius to bring us more revelations until August 13, 2016 when it stations direct in 9 degrees of Sagittarius.

Saturn is not so fondly referred to as the Lord of Karma because it literally holds you accountable and responsible for your actions.  As an astrologer, I frequently hear collective groans about the havoc Saturn wreaks on lives. When it is retrograde, you have no choice but to slow down and reevaluate. It is a time to take care of unfinished business and tie up loose ends that are hindering our progress. We will have to work hard, but we can’t expect immediate results because we may also find ourselves saddled with additional obligations.  Saturn retrograde can also make us feel like we have lost all control over time as the past, present and future are all blurred.

Speaking of that blurred feeling, let’s not forget Neptune’s role in the Saturn saga. Neptune is currently in the watery, dreamy sign of Pisces.  It is at home there, while Saturn is not that comfortable in Sagittarius.  Saturn is at home when it is in Capricorn, which it will enter on December 19, 2017. Since November 26, 2015 we have all been collectively undergoing a Saturn Neptune square.  We will continue to feel the effects of this aspect until September 2016.  The square aspect is exact on November 26, 2015, June 18, 2016 and September 10, 2016.

What are the effects of a Saturn Neptune square?  Well, for starters, Saturn and Neptune are not exactly best buds because their intrinsic natures are so diametrically opposed.  Saturn loves to build structures while Neptune loves to dissolve them.  This aspect is bound to produce disappointments, setbacks, fear, anxiety, deception and downright paranoia.  These two planets don’t play well together in the sandbox, but clearly they have to learn now to coexist.  I happen to have both of these planets in my 1st house in different signs, and I can attest to the work required in maintaining some semblance of sanity in my life with these two planets taking up residence there.  Neptune is conjunct my Libra ascendant while Saturn is conjunct my Scorpio sun in the 2nd house.  I suppose I should be grateful that Saturn is at the end of my 1st house and not within striking distance of my Neptune.  The people who know me best tend to describe me as Neptunian, which is appropriate for a healer and astrologer.  But that Saturn in the 1st house has always made me feel like I am uber responsible for everything and I know that I am perceived as reliable. Responsibility is part of my astrological DNA.

The best advice that I can give to everyone regarding the next 4 ½ months of Saturn retrograde is to proceed slowly and carefully. Take time to reevaluate what is and isn’t working for you.  Above all, take personal responsibility because when Saturn is retrograde, the Lord of Karma is knocking at our doors and we will be held accountable for our actions.  It is truly time to pay the piper.  But if we have been diligent and working hard, we could be on the receiving end of some pretty sweet rewards.  What impact will Saturn retrograding from 16 to 9 degrees of Sagittarius have on you?  I am still processing Saturn’s opposition to my Gemini moon, which is not exactly a party, but I am becoming more comfortable in taking responsibility for getting my emotional needs met.  If you are curious as to how this transit will affect you, please consider getting an astrological reading with me.

In the spirit of the two recent eclipses impacting my creativity, spirituality, finances, and business, I am also including shorter astrological forecasts as part of my services.  Many of my clients purchase solar returns for a yearly tune up, but for those of you who can’t wait for your birthday, I can also do forecasts for three or six months.  So my world is expanding!  I am also offering shorter tarot readings in the form of one or two questions.  I am really excited to be offering distant Reiki treatments to my repertoire. So far these have been on existing clients, but a preliminary intake can be done by email or telephone and I tend to follow up a Reiki distant session with a phone call. Feel free to contact me at lindasim54@gmail.com if you are interested in any of these options.

Full Moon in Gemini and Saturn Neptune Face Off - Take One

The major astrological events of this week were the Full Moon in 3 degrees of Gemini on November 25, 2015 and the first of three exact Saturn Neptune squares on November 26, 2015, which happened to fall on Thanksgiving Day.

On November 25th, I tweeted this about the full moon:

“Definite reality challenge today as Gemini #FullMoon squares Neptune in Pisces.  Try to see things clearly.”

This was a pretty potent full moon because the Sun in Sagittarius conjuncted Saturn and  transportation issues as many people were en route to visit family and friends for the Thanksgiving holiday.  I found myself at the mercy of traffic and transportation delays on November 24th and missed an important phone call on the day of the Full Moon.  They say that Gemini is a busy mind and at one point on the 25th I found myself texting two people, emailing one and speaking on my landline with another simultaneously.  How much more multi-tasking can one do?  Logic and theory were definitely on a collision course for this full moon.

Neptune is still a key player these days and isn’t about to stop anytime soon.  The full moon squared Neptune in Pisces and the effects of the Saturn in Sagittarius Neptune in Pisces square will be felt through 2016, with two more exact hits on June 17, 2016 and September 10, 2016.

The first of the Saturn Neptune squares occurred on Thanksgiving Day, November 26th.  It inspired me to tweet:

“Reality and fantasy butt heads today as Saturn in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces.  We may feel somewhat restricted.”

The Saturn Neptune square evokes themes of 1989-90 when both Saturn and Neptune were conjunct in Capricorn.  It may be helpful to think back to what was going on in your life back then.  I know that back then I was trying to launch my career as a full-time psychic who dabbled in astrology and it was not successful.  Now I am devoting myself to my work of astrology, psychic readings and Reiki.  Over the years I have pursued a more in-depth study of astrology and added Reiki to my other healing skills.  I think that I have known since my early 20’s that I had healing abilities, but it is only within the past few years that I have realized that my path is to be a healer with a toolkit of Reiki, astrology and psychic readings that capitalized on my intuitive abilities.  I definitely was not equipped to harness that Saturn Neptune energy in Capricorn back in 1989-1990, but now that Pluto in Capricorn has been transiting my third house and conjuncted my north node, I think I am finally starting to get it in terms of transforming my dreams into reality.

Saturn is rational and practical while Neptune is spiritual and compassionate, yet easily disillusioned and prone to escapism.  Is it any wonder that fantasy (Neptune) and the reality of structures (Saturn) are clashing?  The square aspect by its very nature produces tension, while conjunctions can be easy aspects if the two planets involved are on the same wavelength.  I know this personally—I have my Sun conjunct Venus, which is considered an easy, flowing aspect, but my Sun is also conjunct Saturn, which is not an easy aspect.  So when Saturn and Neptune were conjunct in Capricorn back in 1989-1990, they were not a good fit.  And this new alignment they are forming will continue to challenge us through 2016.

The north node moved into Virgo recently, which has an underlying theme of service to others.  In that spirit of pursuing my path as a healer, I am channeling that north node and Jupiter in Virgo energy by offering my Reiki services. If you are in the Boston area, please consider getting a Reiki treatment at Acupuncture for Everyone in Copley Square to destress, revitalize and remove blockages to healing.  It’s a perfect way to start your weekend off.  Reiki is the most profound treatment for stress relief because it concentrates on CALMING your body.

For more information on my Reiki services, please see this page on my site:

I am also offering my holiday Reiki special again this year of three Reiki treatments for $50.  It will run through December 2015 and makes a great gift for your loved ones.  Who couldn’t use a little calm, relaxation and sense of peacefulness?  If you are in the Boston area and interested in purchasing a package, please feel free to contact me at lindasim54@gmail.com or call me at 617-304-2205.
