Now that we have all survived the recent Pisces full moon
on September 14, 2019, we can focus on even more Neptunian energy with the
third and final Jupiter in Sagittarius square to Neptune in Pisces of 2019 on
September 21, 2019. The first square occurred
on January 13, 2019 when both planets were direct in 14 degrees of their
respective signs. The last square
occurred on June 16, 2019 when both planets were in 18 degrees of their
respective signs, but Jupiter was retrograde.
The final square of 2019 occurs in 17 degrees on September 21, 2019
featuring Neptune retrograde.
The Jupiter Neptune square has been a prevailing influence
throughout 2019. It has a strong theme
of dissolving limitations and boundaries.
Jupiter focuses on expansion (key word for Jupiter) of the self through
a pursuit of meaning while Neptune inspires us to break free of the boundaries
of the limitations of the material world and the self. This is a pretty potent aspect to be
influencing the year 2019 because both planets are in the signs they rule:
Jupiter in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces.
It’s a great influence for creative types and exploring spirituality,
but not so much for being grounded and making practical decisions.
Jupiter has a tendency to promise more than it can deliver
while Neptune is illusory, evasive, escapist and addictive. But Neptune does have the power to
illuminate, so don’t count it out. Jupiter squaring Neptune can dissolve the
truth; Jupiter represents our search for the truth and Neptune is all about
dissolving. With this final square
occurring in 17 degrees of Sagittarius and Pisces, Sagittarians born between
December 8th-10th will feel its impact the most and
Pisces born between March 5th – 8th will also be feeling
the greatest impact. But we will all be feeling its influence to some effect,
especially if you have any mutable planets (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and
Pisces) around 17 degrees.
How will this aspect play out in the world? Situations could escalate out of control as beliefs
take over. One glance at the political
scene these days in the United States and Great Britain is proof of that. We do have an advantage of Jupiter in
Sagittarius bringing some humor in the face of this madness. Look for the Sagittarian traits of wit, irony
and sarcasm as coping tools for any despondency you may experience. The best possible outcome of this aspect is
to attain a collective lowering of aspirations to make them more reasonable and
manageable.
Another astrological factor in our favor is that Saturn
stationed direct on September 18, 2019, which is very helpful for helping us to
create some new structures and boundaries in our lives. On that day I tweeted:
On September 23, 2019 the sun enters the air sign of Libra
and the fall season officially begins.
When the sun is in Libra, there is more of a focus on finding balance
and harmony in relationships. Libra is
associated with tact, diplomacy, sociability, tolerance and an interest in
style, which may lead us to some spending sprees. But we need to be aware that
the shadow side of Libra involves a tendency to be self-serving, indecisive,
passive aggressive and superficial. It will definitely be more challenging to
make decisions because Libra is renowned for weighing (sometimes endlessly)
both sides of a situation. And we could wind up giving too much in
relationships because Libra is a well-known people pleaser. So the Libra sun transit is definitely all
about finding a measure of balance in relationships.
Neptune in Pisces will take another hit on September 24,
2019 when it receives an irritating inconjunct from Mercury in Libra. Miscommunications could run rampant and we
need to be mindful not to deliver more than we can deliver with this
aspect. Inconjuncts always require some
kind of adjustment and this one involves being honest with ourselves in order
to translate the truth.
