A Full Moon in Sagittarius, Mercury Enters Cancer and the Sun Sextile Saturn

 

The month of May is ending with a Blue Moon on May 31.  The term Blue Moon simply means that we have two Full Moons in one month, which is rare. The month began with a Full Moon in 11 degrees of Scorpio on May 1 and on May 31 we have a Full Moon in 9 degrees of Sagittarius.

A Full Moon in Sagittarius has strong themes of freedom, expansion, truth, honesty (sometimes in a rather blunt fashion) and travel.  There can be big reveals and secrets that come to light.  Since a Full Moon is also associated with closure and completion, we could be leaving behind old baggage and belief systems.  This Full Moon is opposing Uranus in 2 degrees of Gemini, further emphasizing freedom, restlessness and the potential for unexpected news.  But the good news about this Full Moon is that it is trining Saturn in 12 degrees of Aries, which is very auspicious for making long-term plans and setting boundaries in relationships.  For me personally, the Full Moon falls in my 2nd house and opposes my natal Moon in Gemini in my 8th house, so I have no doubt that finances will be a major issue.

On June 1 Mercury enters the cardinal water sign of Cancer until August 9 due to the upcoming Mercury retrograde that starts on June 29 in 26 degrees of Cancer.  Mercury in Cancer is a whole different vibe from Mercury in Gemini, which it rules.  When Mercury is in Cancer, our thoughts and ideas are filtered through a more emotional and intuitive lens.  We can be more sentimental but also moody and quite literally crabby.  Our memory is strengthened with Mercury in Cancer.  Communication is loaded by our emotions, so prepare for a big case of the feels.  Reflection on the past will be a big component of this transit, especially during the retrograde, which ends on July 23 in 16 degrees of Cancer. If you have any planets or points in this 10-degree range, you will feel the impact more acutely. The summer of 2026 will be heavily influenced by Mercury in Cancer. 

On June 2, the Sun in Gemini is forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in 12 degrees of Aries.  It is so nice to see these two planets working well together.  I speak from personal experience on this one because I have a natal Sun-Saturn conjunction in Scorpio which is not the easiest aspect to live with.  But the Sun sextiling Saturn gives us more self-discipline, determination and patience.  We find it easier to solve problems and pay attention to details.  If we do take on additional responsibilities it won't feel like they are a burden.  Any endeavors that we initiate now will have the capacity to go the distance and have long-lasting results.  We could even receive rewards for our efforts because while Saturn is known as the Great Teacher and is associated with limitations, it can reward us if we have been responsible.  Just remember that while sextiles are easy flowing aspects we do have to take proactive steps to reap the benefits.  It's literally a case of if you snooze you lose, so make the most of it.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. A Week of Major Planetary Shifts as Venus Enters Taurus, Mercury and Jupiter Move into Cancer and a Potent Full Moon in Sagittarius

 

The month of June is off to a roaring start and it gets sweeter on June 6 when Venus enters its happy place of Taurus until July 4. Venus rules both Taurus and Libra, so it functions optimally in both signs.  Love is about to become kinder and softer with Venus in Taurus.  We can embrace a common sense approach to both love and finances.  Sensuality rules; it's time to get in touch with the pleasures of our 5 senses.  Feel free to pamper and spoil yourself.  It's a perfect time to enjoy the arts too.  Just be mindful that the shadow side of Venus in Taurus is overindulgence.

Mercury is on the move too.  It zips into Cancer on June 8 until June 26.  Our thinking and communication are set to become softer and more intimate.  We are also more willing to share ourselves more personally with others.  Be prepared to express a big case of the feels.  Intuition is much stronger now because Mercury is in a water sign.  And we are more inclined to listen with our hearts.

Jupiter is moving into the sign it is exalted in- Cancer, on June 9 until June 30, 2026.  Jupiter hasn't been in Cancer since June 2013 through mid-July 2014 because it operates on a twelve-year cycle.  Jupiter represents growth, abundance and good luck.  Jupiter transiting Cancer can also expand our emotional nature and create opportunities for a dream home life and family.  Friendships can be expanded too because many people consider their friends to be family. Self-care is also important when Jupiter is in Cancer.  Anyone who has Jupiter in Cancer (that's me) will be experiencing their Jupiter Return.  I have Jupiter at 29 degrees, so I won't get my Jupiter Return until 2026 but by September 2025 Jupiter will be entering my 10th house before it conjuncts my Uranus and Jupiter in Cancer.  But first it will conjunct my South Node in Cancer in July, which I expect will bring a release from the past.  I know that it did back in 2013; I decide to leave my job in the world of academia back then.

It won't always be smooth sailing when Jupiter first enters Cancer because it will be squaring Saturn and Neptune in Aries. This period will last approximately from June 9 through 20.  We can be prone to over idealism and bubbles can burst.  Jupiter in Cancer can also make us overly emotional and protective, which represents its shadow side.  Just watch out for overeating, being overly sentimental or getting caught up in the past.  I know this will be an issue for me...

On June 11, we have a super potent Full Moon in 20 degrees of Sagittarius.  It could be rather explosive in a fire sign, especially with a Grand Fire Trine involving Mars in 26 degrees of Leo and Chiron in 26 degrees of Aries with that Full Moon in 20 degrees of Sagittarius.  It is a very restless and independent vibe that can have a strong theme of I'm doing it my way. The Full Moon in Sagittarius is also inconjunct Uranus in 28 degrees of Taurus, adding to the volatility and unpredictability.  We just might have to make some adjustments on the fly.

With Chiron prominently featured,  it could bring intensified awareness of deep emotional wounds to initiate some healing.  Don't count out Chiron's influence.  I know that I am still reeling from the conjunction between Chiron and Venus that occurred on June 1.  The Full Moon in Sagittarius trining Mars in Leo can feature more irritation and conflict, but it also holds the potential for positive action to be taken.

Mercury in Cancer is in a supportive sextile to Venus in 4 degrees of Taurus on the Full Moon, which has the promise of words that can heal our relationships.  Overall, this Full Moon has a strong theme of getting out of your comfort zone, as truth, action and healing are major players.  Try to aim for something bigger and have the courage to move toward uncharted territory.

Another Active Week as the Sun and Venus Move into Gemini and A Full Moon in Sagittarius

 

The month of May is indeed zipping along quite merrily.  Mercury moved into Taurus on May 15 after spending over two months in Aries due to that lovely Mercury retrograde that we had in April.  But Mercury in Taurus will be squaring retrograde Pluto in 2 degrees of Aquarius on May 17, which can manifest in some deep thinking and intense interactions.  Aquarius loves to get to the truth of the matter and I wouldn't be surprised if some secrets came to light.  People can also be somewhat defensive with this aspect and many of us can be inclined to force others into buying our way of thinking, especially with both Mercury and Pluto in fixed signs.

On May 18, Venus and Uranus are conjunct in 23 degrees of Taurus.  This will generate much change and excitement with love and/or money.  Spoiler alert--it can trigger impulse spending.  If you are single, you could meet someone new, but don't expect it to last.  This is a day when we are drawn to the unconventional and quirky, which is not always the stuff of permanence.

The Sun and Jupiter are also linking up in 28 degrees of Taurus on May 18.  This is a real feel-good aspect, full of optimism, good cheer and luck.  When the Sun and Jupiter converge, it tends to expand the area of life that it touches.  This only happens once a year, so make the most of it.  Whatever you start on this day should have a positive outcome.  So enjoy the day of May 18 because we have Venus, Uranus, the Sun and Jupiter all hanging out in Taurus, which is ruled by Venus.  It should be a fun day and could even be profitable for some.

The Sun moves into the mutable air sign of Gemini on May 20.  The focus shifts to seeking knowledge, diversity and socializing.  This is also an ideal time for marketing and public relations as our words are more persuasive now.  The shadow side of the Sun in Gemini is a tendency to be more scattered as we can be fickle with all of the choices we face.

The Sun in Gemini is trining Pluto in 2 degrees of Aquarius on May 22.  This can enable positive transformation through intense and profound experiences as we have more power and influence in our lives.  It's nice when Pluto experiences a positive aspect and we have certainly had our fair share of challenging aspects to Pluto since it entered Aquarius.

Another big day is May 23.  We have a Full Strawberry Moon in 2 degrees of Sagittarius.  Why is it called the Strawberry Moon?  Well, according to the Farmer's Almanac, the name comes from Native American tribes that harvested strawberries at this time of year.  This could actually be one of the happiest and most joyful Full Moons of the year.  For starters, it is in the sign of Sagittarius, which is all about honesty, wisdom, and the big picture.  Jupiter rules this Full Moon as the ruler of Sagittarius, so it has strong themes of expansion, optimism and the potential for legal developments.  As an added perk, the Full Moon in 2 degrees of Sagittarius is forming an exact supportive sextile to Pluto in degrees of Aquarius, adding a sense of empowerment and visionary zeal to the mix. It's going to be a very high energy day filled with the exuberance that Sagittarius is associated with.

Venus and Jupiter are also conjunct in 29 degrees of Taurus on the Full Moon.  These planets are known as the Great Benefics, so success, luck and abundance are present.  And Venus is in its home sign of Taurus, so it's a very happy camper.  When planets are in 29 degrees of a sign, they are in the anaretic degree and it indicates completion of an important phase of our lives.  This completely ties in with the theme of harvest on this Full Moon.  Jupiter in Taurus is also sextiling Neptune in 29 degrees of Pisces on this day, which is very spiritually enlightening.  This aspect can bring more harmony, growth, good fortune and enhance creativity.

Venus moves into Gemini at 4:30pm on May 23 and stays there until June 17.  Venus in Gemini is fun-loving, flirty and carefree. Our hearts can be won through the mind during this transit as there is an intellectual edge to love now.  It's also possible for friends to become lovers.  Dating becomes more of an adventure as variety and spontaneity are calling the shots.  And we can be quite fickle and prone to spending money on a good time.  Venus in Taurus was great for saving money and building up security, but Venus in Gemini does not share that priority.

A Grand Water Trine, Full Moon in Sagittarius and Venus Enters Leo

 

It's a whole new month and June is promising lots of action already.  On June 2, we have a beautiful Grand Water trine involving Venus in Cancer, Neptune in Pisces and the Moon in Scorpio.  A Grand Water trine facilitates a smooth flow of emotions and has a strong emphasis on emotional healing.  The fact that it includes the Moon in Scorpio reinforces that theme even more. It also amps up the passion and intensity level.  There is more compassion, romance, daydreaming and relaxation in the mix.  We can find it easier to express more tenderness in love.  Notice where 27 degrees of these water signs falls in your chart.  For me, Venus in Cancer is conjunct my Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in my 10th house  and trines my Venus and Ceres in Scorpio in my 2nd house, while the Scorpio Moon is conjunct my Venus and Ceres while trining my Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer.  And sweet Neptune in Pisces is in my 6th house trining my Scorpio and Cancer planets.

The pace picks up on June 3 when we have a Full Moon in 13 degrees of Sagittarius.  A Full Moon in Sagittarius is associated with optimism, adventure, truth and honesty.  And since Full Moons have a way of shining a light on secrets, there very well could be some big reveals heard in the news at this time.  We can't forget that the South Node of the Moon is currently in the sign of Scorpio, which is renowned for its affinity for secrets and being extremely private.  The Full Moon in Sagittarius is trining Mars in Leo, which provides a jolt of courage to face and transform our fears.  It can make us quite fearless in our pursuit of the truth and attaining our long-term goals.  It can also pose a challenge to our higher principles. The Full Moon in Sagittarius is also inconjunct Jupiter in Taurus, which is the ruling planet of Sagittarius.  This aspect can manifest in our being overly enthusiastic and over-the-top, so we might need to make some adjustments in our expectations.  Finally, the Full Moon in Sagittarius is squaring Saturn in Pisces, which can make us feel somewhat restricted and depressed.  Full Moons are also associated with closure and completion, which can play out as unhealthy relationships ending.  I am by no means predicting a lot of break-ups, but I think that if a relationship does end at this time it is for the best.

Mercury and Uranus will be conjunct in 20 degrees of Taurus on June 4, which is also heavily influencing the theme of surprising news on the Full Moon.  Mercury cleared its retrograde shadow on May 31, so it is moving ahead at full speed now.  When Mercury and Uranus are conjunct, we are more open to progressive ideas and our intuition is heightened.  Insights could be flowing freely, so pay attention.

On June 5, Venus enters Leo for an extended stay until October 8, 2023.  Guess what- Venus will be stationing retrograde in 28 degrees of Leo on July 22.  It will station direct in 12 degrees of Leo on September 3.  Venus is retrograde every 18 months and the last time it was retrograde in Leo was back in August and September of 2015. It started its retrograde in 0 degrees of Virgo in July 2015. It might help us to think back of what was going on in our lives back then, because we might be dealing with similar issues.

But what can we expect when Venus is in Leo?  Well, we can expect passion, drama and a tendency to crave big romance.  Flamboyance, generosity and love of luxury items are also trademarks of Venus in Leo.  Watch your credit cards during this transit.  The shadow side of Venus in Leo is a tendency towards arrogance, excessive pride and needing to be the center of attention.

Venus in Leo opposes Pluto in Aquarius on June 5, and this can add pressure to relationships by emphasizing power imbalances.  Jealousy, obsession and compulsive attractions are characteristic of this particular mix.  Both Venus and Pluto are in fixed signs, so there are bound to be clashes involving strong-willed individuals.  This is just to give you a heads up.  I have a natal Venus-Pluto square in fixed signs, so I am all too aware of how these two planets can act out...

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Mercury Trine Pluto Take 3, Venus and Uranus Hook up in Taurus and a Super Full Moon in Sagittarius

 

We have another action-packed week ahead of us that will make June a month to remember.  Mercury in Taurus will be forming its third exact trine to Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn on June 10.  The first two occurred on April 28th right before Pluto stationed retrograde on April 29, the second happened on May 25th when Mercury was retrograde, and now that Mercury is direct, we are getting the third hit.  I encourage you to think back to what was happening in your lives back then. If you were trying to negotiate for something and weren't successful, this could be your lucky break.  You know the old saying, "Third time is the charm."  This literally could be very fortunate because your words are powerful now and we should not be afraid to pursue our passions and goals.  I fervently believe that the third take of an aspect that occurs because of retrograde planets is the most potent because it takes us mere mortals three times to grasp the meaning and get it right.  If you were not successful in obtaining desired results back in April and May, persist (Mercury is still in Taurus, which is fixed earth and you can't get more determined than that) and speak up.  Maybe you are trying to get a loan or sell someone on your services.  We have had two eclipses since the first Mercury-Pluto trine and Mercury is now direct, so we have all experienced lots of changes.  Go for it, because the force is with you. Our words can be very persuasive now.

On the following day, June 11, Venus and Uranus will be conjunct in 16 degrees of Taurus.  This is a really spicy and juicy aspect that brings a lot of restlessness and the potential for sudden changes in love and finances.  If you are single, you probably won't be able to resist putting yourself out there to meet someone new.  This aspect can also trigger a sudden breakup.  If you do meet someone new, just be mindful that it might not be the most long-lasting relationship due to the Uranus factor.  Venus in Taurus is in its happy place and loves the idea of commitment, but Uranus is all about sudden attractions that can come and go on a whim.  Uranus is not very comfortable in the sign of Taurus, which craves stability.  It is at a distinct disadvantage in Taurus. I swear that one of the reasons we have experienced so many climate and weather disruptions is Uranus in Taurus; Uranus is literally blowing up the earth. Venus is also about money, so watch out for impulse buying. This conjunction is occurring in my 8th house, so I had better watch myself with credit cards on that day or risk incurring some bills that I don't want.  The 2nd and 8th houses are the money houses, so keep that in mind if this conjunction is falling in those houses in your chart.  Unexpected expenses could crop up...

On June 14, 2022 we have a Super Full Moon in 23 degrees of Sagittarius.  Super Full Moons have that moniker because the Moon is very close to the earth and they tend to ramp up the emotional intensity.  A Full Moon in Sagittarius has themes of freedom, truth and justice.  Don't forget that Full Moons tend to reveal secrets.  This is also called the Strawberry Moon, but as astrologer Penny Thornton commented in her recent video, this Full Moon might not be as sweet as a strawberry.  We can't discount the importance of Neptune in Pisces in this Full Moon.  Neptune is in 25 degrees of Pisces and is involved in a T-square with the Sun in Gemini and the Moon in Sagittarius.  The Neptune factor means that things are not always as they seem and the lines of reality can be blurred.  It can reveal some ugly secrets and we can definitely expect some uncertainty.  Don't be too concerned if you have trouble making up your mind right now; feel free to take some time to make major decisions.  Indecisiveness can be a major feature of this Full Moon.

Saturn in 25 degrees of Aquarius is also factoring into this Full Moon because the Moon in Sagittarius is forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in Aquarius, which recently stationed retrograde on June 4th.  On that day I tweeted:

When the Moon is sextiling Saturn, we find it easier to focus on the emotional structures in our life and connect with supportive resources and relationships that enhance our security.  And the Sun in Gemini is also trining Saturn in Aquarius, which can make it easier to deal with our responsibilities because we have more energy at our disposal.  So for a refreshing change of pace, Saturn is not the bad guy here and can be a bright spot during this challenging time.

I would also like to state that anyone with planets in 23-25 degrees of the mutable signs of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius will take the biggest hit from this Full Moon.  You will probably experience more emotional intensity from this Full Moon than others.
