Venus Enters Libra Getting Very Busy and Pluto Stations Direct in Aquarius

 

Venus is getting ready to leave the mutable earth sign of Virgo and enter its happy place in Libra.  But before it does that, it will oppose retrograde Saturn in 27 degrees of Pisces on October 11.  Venus opposing Saturn can feel like a real buzzkill with its potential for delays and limitations in romance and finances.  It's not the best day for socializing (weekend be damned), so be prepared to spend some time alone and engage in practical matters.  A constructive use of this aspect is to pay off some debts.  Just remember that any feelings of depression are a temporary glitch...

Venus enters Libra on October 13 and remains there until November 6.  Venus rules Taurus and Libra, so it's a happy camper in these two signs.  Love is always more romantic and fun when Venus is in these two signs. Venus in Libra brings out our social side and we are more focused on achieving harmony in our relationships.  We also appreciate beauty and the art more now.  We might be inclined to spend more money too, so watch those credit cards carefully.

Pluto stations direct in 1 degree of Aquarius on October 13 too.  It has been retrograde since May 4, when it stationed retrograde in 2 degrees of Aquarius. If you have any planets or points in 0-3 degrees of the fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo or Scorpio, you have been feeling this acutely.  It has been said that when Pluto first enters a sign, it can be quite traumatic and I don't think that anyone will disagree with that.  For example, when Pluto entered Leo in 1939, it ushered in World War II with leaders trying to take control in rather brutal and totalitarian ways.  Pluto entered Scorpio in 1983 as we dealt with the AIDS epidemic.  And who can forget Pluto entering Capricorn in 2008 with one of the worst financial crises in the history of the United States. Pluto in Aquarius has been squaring my natal Mercury in Scorpio and conjunct my progressed Sun in Aquarius, so I have been definitely been feeling it. But with Pluto direct we now have a cosmic green light to act on our plans for the future that we have been contemplating for the past five months.  Pluto in Aquarius is poised to transform technology, democracy and how community resources are distributed.  The collective is now ripe for a metamorphosis.  Power structures will be challenged but it can lead to a decentralization of them.  Freedom and non-conformity are central themes now.

Venus in Libra is very busy on the 14th trining both Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius.  This is forming a Grand Air Trine, a configuration that I have natally and it is pretty sweet.  We can experience breakthroughs in love, money and transformation.  We should be feeling more support for love, finances and the ability to initiate changes.  Communication is flourishing, so take advantage of any opportunities that come your way.  That is the key benefiting from a Grand Trine - you must act or you will not be able to reap the benefits.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Pluto Goes Direct in Capricorn, Mercury in Scorpio, Sun Square Mars, A Super-Charged Full Moon in Aries and Venus in Sagittarius

 

We have an extraordinarily active week ahead of us astrologically.  It starts on October 11 when Pluto moves into direct motion in 29 degrees of Capricorn.  Pluto has been retrograde since May 2, when it stationed retrograde in 2 degrees of Aquarius.  Pluto is entering its last phase of its journey through Capricorn as it prepares for its entrance into Aquarius on November 19 until 2043.  Now that Pluto is moving ahead in the anaretic or critical degree of Capricorn, we can feel freer to reshape the structures in our lives.  It is important for us to remember not to fear the important changes in our lives.  Changes are coming whether we like it or not. But the shadow side of Pluto at the end of Capricorn is that we might be dealing with last ditch attempts at power grabs to hold on to some old and outworn structures. Politically, this could get quite ugly in the coming weeks, especially with the elections in the United States.

Mercury is entering the fixed water sign of Scorpio on October 13 until November 2.  Mercury in Scorpio is an excellent placement for engaging in research because it is so probing and intense.  There is a strong desire to uncover hidden truths and our conversations will be deep.  There is also the potential for seething, anger and spite to emerge over past grievances.  Scorpio is a sign renowned for its ability to hold a grudge and never forget a past wrong.  I have my natal Mercury in Scorpio in addition to my Sun, Saturn and Venus, so I am very familiar with this vibe.

The Sun in Libra will be exactly squaring Mars in 21 degrees of Cancer on October 14. The heads up on this aspect is that we can expect a certain amount of irritability, impatience, recklessness and impulsiveness. Don't be surprised if challenging events and people force you to defend your goals or desires.  Watch out for a build-up of anger, resentment and possible sexual frustration.  Despite the fact that this aspect falls in cardinal signs, which love to initiate action, the best way to cope with this energy is to be defensive, not offensive.  Of course, this aspect is a big lead-up to the Full Moon in Aries on October 17 because Mars rules the sign of Aries.

There is a Super Full Moon in 24 degrees of Aries on October 17.  It is extremely close to the earth and also figures into a Cardinal Grand Cross involving the Sun in Libra, the Moon and Chiron in Aries, Mars in Cancer and Pluto in Capricorn.  We will all experience emotional intensity and power issues galore.  But anyone with planets or points (and this means Ascendant, Midheaven or Nodes of the Moon) in 24-29 degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will feel the brunt of this Full Moon.

How is this going to play out?  For starters, the Full Moon in Aries will be conjunct Chiron in 21 degrees of Aries.  This is bound to be emotionally wounding.  And the Moon in 24 degrees of Aries is squaring Mars in 22 degrees of Cancer, so the levels of anger can be palpable.  The Full Moon in Aries is also squaring Pluto in 29 degrees of Capricorn, which can set the stage for compulsive and destructive behavior.  Emotional power struggles are highly likely.  But the Moon squaring Pluto can ultimately lead to transformation of emotional behavior in relationships if we remain open to it.  The saving grace aspect of this Full Moon in Aries is the supportive sextile that it forms to Jupiter (newly retrograde since October 9) in 21 degrees of Gemini. This can bring us more optimism, generosity and idealism.  We'll take it...

Venus leaves Scorpio at 3:28 p.m. on October 17 and enters Sagittarius, where it resides until November 11.  Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign and Venus will be more direct, light-hearted and adventurous than it was in Scorpio. We might feel like taking a chance on romance while Venus is in Sagittarius.

The Cardinal Signs Are Calling the Shots as Pluto Stations Direct in Capricorn, A Full Moon in Aries and Mercury Re-Enters Libra

 

We have an intense week coming up, folks.  Mercury went direct on October 2, inspiring me to tweet:

The saving grace aspect of today is Mercury FINALLY stationing direct in Virgo! There is a light at the end of the tunnel with communication and transportation snafus. #astrology

Pluto will be turning around in 26 degrees of Capricorn on October 8.  Pluto has been retrograde since April 29, 2022, when it stationed retrograde in 28 degrees of Capricorn.  Pluto turning direct has a strong theme of transformation.  If you have any planets around 26 degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, mark my words that you are going to be encountering major issues pertaining to control and transformation. There could very well be  some major power plays enacted on the world stage.  It's literally going to be a breakdown to a breakthrough!  Once again, I am in the thick of things.  I have my natal Neptune in 26 degrees of Libra in my 1st house, so I am not escaping this by any means.  I also have my natal retrograde Uranus in 27 degrees of Cancer in my 10th house taking a hit.  Is it any wonder that I am an astrologer, psychic and healer with this placement?

Just remember that whenever a planet stations it is in a very powerful position and its effect will be intensified.  So the power planet is stationing direct and we need to be careful...

On October 9, we have a Full Moon in 16 degrees of Aries that will definitely ratch up the emotional intensity level with the effects of the Pluto station still present.  Full Moons tend to be a time of closure, completion and big reveals.  Pluto in Capricorn could be revealing some secrets on this Full Moon. Think back to the New Moon in 11 degrees of Aries on April 1, 2022.  Is anything coming to a cycle of completion for you?  This Full Moon in Aries is also conjunct Chiron in 14 degrees of Aries, indicating that themes of illness, health, healing and old wounds could surface.  Uranus in 18 degrees of Taurus is also conjunct the North Node in 15 degrees in Taurus, which could see us dealing with financial turbulence for the next couple of months.  We are headed into eclipse season, with a Solar Eclipse in 2 degrees of Scorpio on October 25 and a Lunar Eclipse on November 8 in 16 degrees of Taurus.  The signs of Taurus and Scorpio are money signs and with the South Node in Scorpio, we are being called to release anything that is toxic.  Watch out for some action with investments, loans and mortgages.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and it is renowned for being a warrior, as well as being very assertive and resilient.  Keep this in mind as to where it hits your chart.  It can be a time of releasing old fears and embracing our courage to move ahead because Aries is also a cardinal sign and loves to initiate.   The Sun and Venus in Libra are opposing the Full Moon in Aries, which can have the potential for achieving a peace treaty.  I know, it must be my Neptune in Libra speaking, hoping for the best possible outcome.  The Full Moon in Aries is also forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in 18 degrees of Aquarius, which has been very close to an exact square with Uranus in Taurus again (the prevailing aspect of 2021), underscoring the theme of preserving the old versus embracing the new.  So perhaps some constructive action will take place.

What else is happening on this Full Moon?  Mars in Gemini is energizing the mind and all of the information that is circulating, but it is squaring Mercury in 27 degrees of Virgo, so there is a lot of analyzing of this information.  But Mercury in Virgo is also opposing Neptune in 23 degrees of Pisces, which cans serve to energize the fog. Never fear, though because Mercury in Virgo is trining Pluto in Capricorn, which will provide the urge to dig deep and research the truth.  We will want to get to the bottom of things.  Don't be surprised if you hear more news about inflation on the Full Moon because Mercury in Virgo is still in opposition to Jupiter in 1 degree of Aries.  That also means the Sun and Venus in Libra are opposing Jupiter in Aries, so that contributes to the theme of excess.  Try to be as objective as possible, which probably is easier said than done.

On October 10, Mercury re-enters Libra until October 29.  The recent Mercury retrograde started on September 9 in 8 degrees of Libra, so we could be going over some old ground. It's true that Mercury rules Virgo (in addition to Gemini) and is comfortable there, although it can be very analytical and critical.  When Mercury is in Libra, we are inclined to be more diplomatic, friendly and willing to compromise. Negotiations tend to run smoothly and we are more rational in our approach to relationships.  The shadow side of  Mercury in Libra is a tendency to vacillate in our decision-making process as are able to see both sides of a given situation.

On October 12, Mars in Gemini is exactly squaring Neptune in 23 degrees of Pisces.  This is going to be one of those low energy days that can be accompanied by suspicion, lies, paranoia and scandal.  Gossip is also likely.  The best way to deal with this energy is to mind your own business and try not to tackle any new projects or lash out because the truth isn't clear and our energy levels are low.

A Change of Season with Fall Equinox, Mercury and Pluto Direct and Mars and Venus Changing Signs

The eclipses may be over, but September is still abuzz with astrological activity. Uranus in Aries continues to be a very active key player in the September 16th lunar eclipse.  It received a trine from Mars in Sagittarius on that day and on September 17^th, Venus in Libra opposed it.  Changes, breakthroughs and heated exchanges in relationships were a small part of the fallout of this eclipse.  I sense that the effects of this lunar eclipse will linger for a full six months and it will be interesting to see where we are in March 2017, especially after the February 2017 eclipses. 

The best news this week occurred on September 22, 2016 when Mercury stationed direct in 14 degrees of Virgo. Communication and transportation snafus will slowly lift as Mercury picks up speed and moves forward.  We also experienced the Fall Equinox on that day when the sun entered Libra. With the sun in Libra, the energy will shift to a more social atmosphere.  I love the season of fall and consider it to be my own personal new year, when the air is crisp and the energy ripe for new beginnings. The sun and Jupiter in Libra were also conjunct that day, fueling the fires of optimism.  And the moon was in Gemini, so it was all about communication.  We just need to be mindful not to take on more than we can handle with that connection to Jupiter, given Jupiter’s penchant for doing things in a big way.  Another perk of Mercury stationing direct on September 22^nd is that it conjuncted the north node in Virgo.  This is a very positive, auspicious aspect because it empowers us with the ability to analyze our next steps and move forward on our soul’s path.

We are also the beneficiary of two trines this week from Mercury in Virgo to Pluto in Capricorn.  The first occurred on September 20^th when Mercury was still retrograde, inspiring me to tweet:

“Mercury in Virgo trining Pluto in Capricorn today is a boon for clearer communication & ability to focus. Our words have power.”

On September 23^rd, Mercury direct trines Pluto in Capricorn again, so make the most of this energy of this potentially productive trine between analytical Virgo and powerful Capricorn.  This is our second hit this week and its potential shouldn’t be wasted.

On September 23, 2016 Venus exits its home sign of Libra and plunges into the watery depths of Scorpio, where it will remain until October 18^th.  The emotional vibe in relationships will take on a more intense, all or nothing, obsessive quality.  Make no bones about it, Venus in Scorpio does not have the lighthearted social butterfly quality of Venus in Libra.  It craves intimacy, emotional depth and is quite adept at purging and detoxing in relationships.  I have my Venus in Scorpio and I can attest to its totally accurate description of still waters running deep.

The sun may be in Libra, but the Scorpio energy gets kicked up a notch when its ruling planet Pluto stations direct in 14 degrees of Capricorn on September 26, 2016.  Pluto has been retrograde since April 18^th, so we can start to reap the benefits of the confrontation of our shadow side (especially our desire for power) and revisiting old hurts so that our transformation can move to the next level.  And with Pluto direct in Capricorn, just maybe we can make some progress in transforming our government in a constructive manner.

Mars is finally changing signs, entering Capricorn on September 27, 2016. Mars stays in Capricorn for about six weeks, entering the free -wheeling sign of Aquarius on November 9, 2016. Mars has spent most of 2016 in Scorpio and Sagittarius due to its extended retrograde period from April 17^th through June 29, 2016.  It’s very interesting that both Mars and Pluto, co-rulers of Scorpio, stationed retrograde so close to each other. And they are headed for a conjunction in Capricorn on October 19^th, which could result in some major bullying.  More on that later…

But what can we expect from Mars in Capricorn? Mars in Capricorn will lack the fiery enthusiasm of Mars in Sagittarius, as it has a more disciplined, determined demeanor with a focus on making slow and steady progress. It is a cautious, reserved Mars. The perk of Mars in Capricorn is that we can take those ideals that surfaced during the long Mars in Sagittarius transit and make them a reality.  Transiting Mars in Capricorn will be conjunct my natal north node on October 10, 2016 and the sun enters my first house that day as well, so I am eagerly anticipating an adrenaline boost of energy.

For my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule for a treatment or have difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing distance Reiki sessions for them.  I have a conversation with them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages.  I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
