Mars Enters Cancer, Mercury and Jupiter Get Together and Venus and Uranus Hook Up

 

The month of March has seen quite a bit of change with Saturn entering Pisces on March 7, Pluto entering Aquarius on the 23rd and Mars is about to join the fray when it moves into Cancer on March 25.  Mars has been in Gemini since August 2022 due to its retrograde from October 30, 2022 through January 12, 2023.  I don't know about you, but I am thrilled to see Mars finally get out of Gemini.  It was conjunct my Moon and I was not a happy camper.

I know that traditional astrology knowledge states that Mars is in fall in Cancer, since it is exalted in the opposite sign of Capricorn, but I will take it over the last eight months of Mars in Gemini.  Mars in Cancer is not that comfortable expressing aggression.  It tends to be described as passive-aggressive.  Our actions can be reactive and oversensitive.  Cancer is ruled by the Moon, so we can expect to be more irritable and moody.  It will be an emotional roller coaster until Mars leaves Cancer on May 20, 2023.  But Mars in Cancer can be very constructive energy for domestic tasks (hello, Spring cleaning) and fighting for family rights.  Of course, it can also generate some squabbles on the home front.

But Mars in Cancer will be trining Saturn in 2 degrees of Pisces on March 30.  Mars and Saturn are not exactly compatible, but trust me, a trine beats a square, opposition or inconjunct aspect.  I speak from experience on this count because I have a natal Mars-Saturn square.  Talk about being your own worst enemy!  Mars trining Saturn does confer strength, ambition and perseverance.  It is a time to pursue your passion.  It is actually a good blend of initiative and patience.  Mars trining Saturn makes it easier to pay attention to details and we can actually make some progress through disciplined action.  If you have any tasks on your to-do list, this is the time to tackle them.

On March 28, Mercury and Jupiter are conjunct in 18 degrees of Aries.  This is a real feel-good vibe full of good news, optimism and a desire to be more social.  It is easy to express yourself more openly and enthusiastically.  It has a very future-oriented quality that is perfect for travel and study.  It is also great energy for settling disputes and negotiations, so make the most of this day.

We have another aspect on March 30 that makes it a memorable and potentially pleasant day.  Venus and Uranus are conjunct in 16 degrees of Taurus.  Venus is very happy in the sign of Taurus because it rules Taurus, while Uranus is very uncomfortable in Taurus, but we have been dealing with that since May 2018.  But when Venus and Uranus hook up in Taurus, we can experience sudden changes in love and/or money.  It is entirely possible to have some financial windfalls, but we can also be hit with the urge to splurge and the subsequent buyer's remorse.  Our desires can change, so be open to trying new things in your relationships.  And our creativity can soar as well on this day.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Communication Gets More Serious as Mercury Enters Capricorn

Venus may have left the Capricorn party of the Sun, Saturn, Pluto and Ceres on December 20, 2019, when I tweeted:

but on December 28, 2019 Mercury will enter Capricorn until January 16, 2020.  That’s right folks, Mercury will be in Capricorn for the next eclipse on January 10, 2020 and the upcoming Saturn Pluto conjunction on January 12, 2020.

When Mercury transits the earth sign of Capricorn, communication gets more serious, clear and rational.  Our ideas are more structured as our thinking becomes more methodical.  Its timing is perfect for setting New Year’s resolutions because Mercury in Capricorn is so goal oriented.  Mercury in Capricorn is a very favorable influence for focusing on business and practical matters.  The shadow side of Mercury in Capricorn is the tendency to be too controlling which detracts from its constructive nature and we can also be quite rigid when Mercury in Capricorn.

Mercury in Capricorn is also making some very favorable aspects during the coming week.  On December 30, 2019, it forms an exact trine with Uranus in 2 degrees of Taurus.  This aspect will open up our minds to exciting ideas involving new technologies and the possibility of new friends coming into our lives.

While Mercury isn’t making any particular aspects on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2019, we do end the year and the decade on a note of hope with the Pisces moon forming a supportive sextile to the sun in 9 degrees of Capricorn.  This aspect has a strong theme of surrendering to the present, letting go of the past and having faith in the future.  That element of faith is reinforced by the Pisces moon conjuncting Neptune in 16 degrees of Pisces.

On January 2, 2020, Mercury in Capricorn conjuncts Jupiter in 6 degrees of Capricorn.  This aspect favors work and play.  It has the potential to bring good news, optimism and a happy frame of mind.  It is very auspicious for business deals and new ideas, so be sure to write down any ideas that you receive on this date.  It’s a real feel good aspect and a fabulous way to launch a new year and a new decade.
