Retrograde Mercury in Scorpio and Venus in Libra Are Calling the Shots This Week with Fewer but More Potent Transits

 

There aren't as many transits this week, which is probably a welcome relief after the recent Full Moon in Taurus on October 26.  But we are in the midst of Scorpio season, which is even more intense this year due to Mercury being retrograde in Scorpio and Venus started out retrograde in Scorpio on October 3 and moved back into Libra on October 25 where at least it is a happy camper.

On October 30, retrograde Mercury in Scorpio is squaring Mars in 18 degrees of Leo.  This is the second hit of this transit: we experienced it for the first time on October 2 when both planets were direct in 2 degrees of their respective signs.  This time could prove to be more volatile and the anger could be amplified as Mercury in Scorpio is widely squaring Jupiter in 24 degrees of Leo.  I won't sugarcoat this one, folks, it could get very extreme and big secrets could be revealed.  Arguments could get quite heated and it might be best to just walk away from certain situations if at all possible.  There is no guarantee that all parties will be acting rationally.  We have one more Mercury-Mars square in 2026, but it will fall in different signs and both planets will be direct on December 9.  Then Mercury will be in Sagittarius and Mars will be in Virgo.  Both planets will be in 5 degrees in mutable signs, so that one should be a little easier to deal with.  Just exercise some caution on October 30.

This Scorpio season is also especially intense because many of us are feeling the Scorpio sting of backed up trauma as we engage in deep emotional catharsis to rebirth our emotional well-being and reclaim our personal power.  This is the Phoenix Rising phase and as I have often said, rebirth ain't pretty.  The deep purge is underway as we burn away our fears and resentments.  If we play our cards right, our pain can become wisdom and we can transcend into the Eagle, the highest symbol of Scorpio which can soar above the fray with an altered perspective.  Sometimes it means we don't respond to conflict and use our emotional mastery to set healthy boundaries.  I know that I struggle with this one, but I wish everyone out there much luck and light in navigating this path.

On November 1, the Sun in Scorpio is inconjunct Saturn in 12 degrees of Aries.  This simply means that we are dealing with an imbalance between what we want to do and what we need to do.  That old responsibility theme is rearing its head. Obligations can hamper our freedom or self-expression.  Try to be as flexible and adaptable as possible to make whatever adjustments are necessary.  Don't neglect those responsibilities because if you do they will only come back to bite you later.  And engage in self-care.  My natal Saturn is in 12 degrees of Scorpio with a wide conjunction to my Sun, so there is no way out of dealing with responsibilities for me on this day.

We do get a bit of a break on November 4 with retrograde Mercury and Venus. The Sun and Mercury are conjunct in 12 degrees of Scorpio, forming another Cazimi. Now it is Mercury's turn to be in the heart of the Sun. Powerful communication is possible and conversations are likely to be truthful.  There can be information downloads and thought patterns can be detoxed.  I am particularly fond of that concept.

Venus in Libra is forming a supportive sextile to Jupiter in 24 degrees of Leo on November 4.  This adds harmony to relationships, finances and creative projects.  Windfalls could occur.  The important thing to remember is that sextiles represent opportunities and you have to take action to reap the benefits.  If you snooze, you lose.  Venus sextiling Jupiter is beneficial for social events.  Just be mindful not to engage in too many sweets and/or addictive substances.  I told you last week that Venus in Libra, even retrograde, would be somewhat easier, so enjoy it.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
