Uranus in
Taurus is seeing a great deal of planetary action this week and for that
matter, all year. How could we forget
that Saturn in Aquarius has three exact squares with Uranus in Taurus, in
February, June and December of 2021? On August 3, Mercury in 14 degrees of Leo exactly
squared Uranus in Taurus and I tweeted:
Get ready
for Uranus to take another hit from the Sun in Leo squaring Uranus on August
6. This will be another stressful aspect
as it manifests in unease, uncertainty and anxiety about the impending changes that
are coming, like it or not. Unexpected
disturbances are par for the course with this energy. Sudden changes in behavior are likely and we
will have no problem standing up for ourselves if the situation calls for it. If you have any planets around 14 degrees of
the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius, you will feel the brunt of
this aspect. I have my natal Saturn in
12 degrees of Scorpio and Mars in 14 degrees of Aquarius, so I know that I am
on the firing line.
But we do
have a delightful New Moon in 16 degrees of Leo on August 8. There is a great deal of buzz about this
being called the Lionsgate 88 Portal.
What does this mean? It is
activated by the numerology of 8/8 and the rising of the star Sirius, which is
the Spiritual Sun. The lion represents
Leo and Leo rules the heart. This New
Moon should open a galactic portal allowing high vibrational energy to be sent
to earth. Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?
And the number 8 is associated with infinity and the forever conscious part of
our soul. So this New Moon has the
potential for creating abundance, power and higher realms of
consciousness. This is a perfect time to
set new heart-centered intentions as we embark on a path of change and clearing
our energy to receive.
All New
Moons have a theme of setting new intentions but a New Moon in Leo is all about
creativity and planting the seeds of growth for whatever area of life the New
Moon falls in your chart. For me
personally, it is at the end of my 10th house of career and public
standing. We also have a preponderance
of planets in fixed signs: the Sun, Moon, and Mercury in Leo, Jupiter and
Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus.
The fixed signs possess a great deal of tenacity and determination, so
they will pursue what they want and not give up easily. And of course, this New Moon is setting off
that astrological elephant in the room, the Saturn-Uranus square. The fixed signs will feel the effects of this
New Moon the most as they seek to break down the old in their quest to break through
to the new. And that Moon is squaring
Uranus in Taurus, so I am sure there will be some surprises headed our way.
On August
11, Mercury departs Leo, where it has been extremely uncomfortable and enters
its happy place, Virgo. Mercury rules
Gemini and Virgo, so it will definitely be in a better place until August
30. When Mercury is in Virgo, our minds
are sharp and our speech is precise. We
have a laser-like attention to details.
We will have more power to analyze information and communication is
clearer. Just be mindful that the shadow
side of Mercury in Virgo is a tendency to be hypercritical and we should all
enjoy this transit.

The coronavirus outbreak is causing me
to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people are
concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my
in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social
distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions
will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. At some point,
probably in 2022, I will find a new space to practice. In the meantime, a distant
Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system
and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the
comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client
about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the
session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy
and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and
my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now
offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each
other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki
treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client. I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and

urge everyone to engage in massive amounts of self-care and follow the
protective measures of washing your hands frequently, maintaining social
distancing, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, wearing a face mask when necessary
and staying home if you are sick. And get a vaccine. This new Delta strain of
the virus is very serious and we need to remain vigilant with our masks, even
if we are fully vaccinated. I repeat,
