A Full Moon in Sagittarius, Mercury Enters Cancer and the Sun Sextile Saturn

The month of May is ending with a Blue Moon on May 31.  The term Blue Moon simply means that we have two Full Moons in one month, which is rare. The month began with a Full Moon in 11 degrees of Scorpio on May 1 and on May 31 we have a Full Moon in 9 degrees of Sagittarius.

A Full Moon in Sagittarius has strong themes of freedom, expansion, truth, honesty (sometimes in a rather blunt fashion) and travel.  There can be big reveals and secrets that come to light.  Since a Full Moon is also associated with closure and completion, we could be leaving behind old baggage and belief systems.  This Full Moon is opposing Uranus in 2 degrees of Gemini, further emphasizing freedom, restlessness and the potential for unexpected news.  But the good news about this Full Moon is that it is trining Saturn in 12 degrees of Aries, which is very auspicious for making long-term plans and setting boundaries in relationships.  For me personally, the Full Moon falls in my 2nd house and opposes my natal Moon in Gemini in my 8th house, so I have no doubt that finances will be a major issue.

On June 1 Mercury enters the cardinal water sign of Cancer until August 9 due to the upcoming Mercury retrograde that starts on June 29 in 26 degrees of Cancer.  Mercury in Cancer is a whole different vibe from Mercury in Gemini, which it rules.  When Mercury is in Cancer, our thoughts and ideas are filtered through a more emotional and intuitive lens.  We can be more sentimental but also moody and quite literally crabby.  Our memory is strengthened with Mercury in Cancer.  Communication is loaded by our emotions, so prepare for a big case of the feels.  Reflection on the past will be a big component of this transit, especially during the retrograde, which ends on July 23 in 16 degrees of Cancer. If you have any planets or points in this 10-degree range, you will feel the impact more acutely. The summer of 2026 will be heavily influenced by Mercury in Cancer.

On June 2, the Sun in Gemini is forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in 12 degrees of Aries.  It is so nice to see these two planets working well together.  I speak from personal experience on this one because I have a natal Sun-Saturn conjunction in Scorpio which is not the easiest aspect to live with.  But the Sun sextiling Saturn gives us more self-discipline, determination and patience.  We find it easier to solve problems and pay attention to details.  If we do take on additional responsibilities it won't feel like they are a burden.  Any endeavors that we initiate now will have the capacity to go the distance and have long-lasting results.  We could even receive rewards for our efforts because while Saturn is known as the Great Teacher and is associated with limitations, it can reward us if we have been responsible.  Just remember that while sextiles are easy flowing aspects we do have to take proactive steps to reap the benefits.  It's literally a case of if you snooze you lose, so make the most of it.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. If this appeals to you, please feel free to contact me by email at lindasim54@gmail.com or call me at 617-304-2205. The cost for distance Reiki sessions is based on a sliding scale of $30 -$50. For your convenience, I accept Venmo and Zelle for payment. Zelle payments can be sent using my telephone number 617-304-2205. I have also written an article about distance Reiki, which is available at:

A Blue Full Moon in Aquarius and the Sun Enters Virgo

Save the date of August 22 because it will be a momentous day because of two very special events.  The first is a Blue Full Moon in 29 degrees of Aquarius occurring at 8:02 a.m.  It is called a Blue Moon because it is the second Full Moon in Aquarius this year.  The first one happened on July 23rd in 1 degree of Aquarius.  The second major event that day is the Sun moving into Virgo at 5:35 p.m.

The Full Moon falls in the critical or anaretic degree of 29.  The themes of an Aquarian Full Moon pertain to truth, freedom and rebellion.  The Moon also conjuncts retrograde Jupiter in 26 degrees of Aquarius, which indicates that there is potential for us to be emotionally generous and come together with like-minded people in a quest for justice. There is no doubt that there will be big emotional reactions to this Full Moon.  Having Jupiter in the mix at this Full Moon could trigger inflation economically.  We also need to keep in mind that there is a three day window for big emotional reactions to play out: the day of the Full Moon, as well as the day before and the day after.

It’s no secret that we currently have a lot of planets retrograde now: Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, Neptune, Chiron and now Uranus in Taurus.  Uranus stationed retrograde in 14 degrees of Taurus on August 18, when I tweeted:

Uranus is a major player in this Full Moon.  For starters, it is the ruling planet of Aquarius.  But the fact that it stationed retrograde four days before the Full Moon intensifies its energy.  It is no accident that the news is about an earthquake in Haiti and the upheaval in Afghanistan.  Whenever a planet stations retrograde or direct, its power is magnified for approximately one week before and after the station. Mars in Virgo also trines Uranus in Taurus on the Full Moon, which only adds to the volatility.  I loved what astrologer Penny Thornton said about Uranus in her latest video about this Full Moon: learn to live with uncertainty and manage our circumstances by living in the moment.  We have no other rational choice these days.  Uranus is not very happy in the sign of Taurus, so I suspect that we will continue to experience extreme weather like earthquakes, sudden events and structural changes. And we could see some changes in technology with Uranus as a major factor in this Full Moon.  I hope it doesn’t happen, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some cyberattacks were launched.  Uranus is breaking things down to break through to a new level of freedom and it is definitely not the most comfortable or smoothest ride. When Uranus stationed retrograde, it was exactly squaring my Mars in Aquarius, so I certainly felt its impact.

The Full Moon conjunct Jupiter in Aquarius also contains a positive theme of human rights and justice.  It is also forcing us to reflect on the New Moon in 23 degrees of Aquarius that occurred on February 11, 2021.  Don’t be surprised if events from back then need to be addressed in your personal life.  Mercury in 18 degrees of Virgo is opposing Neptune in 22 degrees of Pisces on the Full Moon, so there could be some more news about COVID emerging.  Don’t forget that Full Moons shed light on matters as well as providing culmination.  In the United States they have already announced that a third booster shot is recommended for the COVID vaccine. COVID was raging back in February and this Delta variant has sent us in a downward spiral in terms of controlling the virus.  But another favorable aspect that we have on the Full Moon is Venus in 7 degrees of Libra trining Saturn in 8 degrees of Aquarius.  This is a very positive influence for relationships.  Venus entered its happy place on August 16 and on that day I tweeted:

The Moon moves into Pisces at 8:43 a.m. on August 22 and then the Sun moves into Virgo at 5:35 p.m.  When the Sun is in Virgo, we will shift our focus to taking care of practical concerns and details.  It’s time to get organized and also to tend to health matters.  I have always thought it was very appropriate and fitting that Virgo is the sign associated with back to school season. The emphasis will shift from air and fire to water and earth.  We are going to be feeling and doing things with this planetary energy. Virgo loves to accomplish and is very task-oriented.  Just be mindful that the shadow side of Virgo is a tendency to be judgmental or critical as it strives for perfectionism and we should thrive with this transit of the Sun.

If you are curious about how all of these planetary changes will be affecting you personally, please consider getting an astrological reading. These are very challenging and unique times; an astrological reading could provide some much needed clarity and guidance.  Check out my menu of services at:

I urge everyone to engage in massive amounts of self-care and follow the protective measures of washing your hands frequently, maintaining social distancing, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, wearing a face mask when necessary and staying home if you are sick. And get a vaccine. This new Delta strain of the virus is very serious and we need to remain vigilant with our masks, even if we are fully vaccinated.  I repeat, you do not want to get this virus! I speak from personal experience and consider myself very fortunate to have survived Coronavirus. Stay safe and healthy, everyone!

A Full Moon in Taurus That Has a Trickster Quality and Mercury Stations Direct

The month of October started with a Full Moon in 9 degrees of Aries and it will end on October 31 with a Full Moon in 8 degrees of Taurus.  This means that on Halloween we have a Blue Moon, which simply means that we had two Full Moons in one month.  And that is bound to increase the emotional intensity.

Full Moons are inherently extremely emotional times that contain strong themes of closure and completion while revealing hidden facts.  A Full Moon in Taurus is associated with agriculture, money and sensuality.  It has a strong focus on relationships and with this Full Moon, we might find ourselves needing to release and let go of behavioral patterns that no longer serve our best interests.

The major issue with this Full Moon is that it is conjunct retrograde Uranus in 8 degrees of Taurus.  Talk about Trick or Treat!  This aspect alone is bound to be a game changer because emotional shocks, upheavals and disruptions are par for the course.  This is very eruptive energy and we will probably see more demands for freedom and rebellions.  Shocking events and news are also possible with this Full Moon.  The fact that this Full Moon is in Taurus could also deliver more earthquakes, volcanoes and extreme weather patterns. Since it is a Full Moon, it goes without saying that if the Moon is conjunct Uranus, the Sun in Scorpio is opposing Uranus.  We only experience one Sun-Uranus conjunction a year (thank God!) and this brings volatility and unexpected events to the fore.  Nervous energy will prevail, so don’t expect people to be acting rationally.

The Full Moon in 8 degrees of Taurus is also widely inconjunct Venus in 4 degrees of Libra.  This contributes to the relationship drama because it will increase the need for love and affection while simultaneously increasing the tension.  It highlights the imbalance of emotional support and love.  Something’s gotta give to restore the balance; inconjuncts always require some measure of adjustment to get the two planets involved to coexist peacefully.  I also find it quite ironic that both Taurus and Libra are ruled by Libra and Venus just recently entered Libra on the 27th of October, when I tweeted:

The bottom line with this Full Moon is that the fixed signs of Taurus, Scorpio, Leo and Aquarius will feel it the most.  Fixed signs are the most resistant to change and a Full Moon conjunct Uranus screams change.  Taurus and Scorpio will face changes in relationships that come suddenly and need to be accepted.  Leo and Aquarius will be facing changes in the areas of home life and career.  All of the fixed signs will be craving the need for stability in these areas of life.

I am a big fan of Penny Thornton’s astrology videos on YouTube.  I watched her latest one on the Full Moon in Taurus and was blown away by her insight.  She commented on how when the Moon in Taurus conjuncted Uranus in Taurus on the 23rd of April  President Trump issued a press conference extolling the virtues of bleach and how the upcoming warm weather would wipe out the virus.  Obviously none of this was true, but the fact that the Full Moon on October 31 features a conjunction to Uranus again underscores the fact that the Coronavirus will be a major issue in the Presidential election on November 3.  She also pointed out that President Trump contracted the virus during the previous Full Moon on the 1st of October.  Food for thought in terms of closure, completion and revelation, n’est pas?

Now on to Mercury stationing direct on the 3rd of November.  I don’t know about any of you, but it has been a particularly grueling Mercury Retrograde for me personally.  Mercury stationed retrograde in 11 degrees of Scorpio on the 13th of October and it was one degree away from my Saturn in 12 degrees of Scorpio at the end of my 1st house.  Ouch!  I have experienced mega-delays and frustrations with the Internet and my website not accepting payments for readings.  When Mercury stations direct in 25 degrees of Libra on the 3rd, it will be one degree away from my Neptune in 26 degrees of Libra in my 1st house conjunct my Libra ascendant. It’s not particularly easy having both Saturn and Neptune in the 1st house but I suppose I should be grateful that Saturn in my 1st house has somewhat of a grounding influence, despite the fact that it doesn’t exactly make me a free spirit. Yes, this Mercury Retrograde has had a huge impact on me and I will heave a huge sigh of relief when it is over and it clears its retrograde shadow on the 19th of November.

Perhaps I just need to enter new Buy Now buttons, but I think I will just wait until Mercury is direct before I attempt that.  In the meantime, please feel free to send payments through PayPal to my email at lindasim54@gmail.com.  It looks like I am living proof of Mercury Retrograde opposing Uranus and the technological havoc it can wreak.

In many ways it is rather chilling and ironic that Mercury is stationing direct on the day of the United States Presidential Election.  It’s common knowledge that a planet’s power is intensified whenever it stations direct or retrograde.  Who could forget the chaos that ensued in the 2000 Presidential Election when Mercury stationed retrograde in 29 degrees of Libra?  I think it is fair to surmise that we can expect technical difficulties with the Internet and the voting process for this election.  Mercury may be stationing direct instead of retrograde, but there is still a very strong likelihood of delayed results and social unrest.

When Mercury stations direct in Libra, it will be squaring the triumvirate of planets in Capricorn.  Mercury squaring Pluto can play out in extreme or brutal tactics.  Mercury squaring Saturn will create a somber atmosphere, rigid and pessimistic thinking and communications as well as increasing the potential for a hold-up in determining the results. And don’t forget that Mercury in Libra will also be squaring Jupiter in Capricorn, which can manifest in errors of judgment and legal difficulties.

I realize that it was probably quite insane of me to launch a new feature on my website during Mercury Retrograde, but in all fairness, it was something that I started work on back in early September.  On the 28th of October, I added a Monthly Horoscopes section to my website.  I think that November will be a pivotal month for 2020 and I wanted to share my insights with as many people as possible.  On that day I tweeted:

I have also recently joined Facebook.  I don’t post as frequently as on Twitter, but I am on Facebook now at https://www.facebook.com/linda.simons.75098

A Relationship Oriented Full Moon in Libra

Everyone knows that Libra is the astrological sign most associated with relationships, so be prepared for some major relationship shakeups to occur on the full blue moon in 10 degrees of Libra on March 31, 2018.  This is the second full moon in March (the first occurred on March 1, 2018 in 11 degrees of Virgo) giving it the distinction of a blue moon.

It would be a grave understatement to say that a lot can happen with this full moon in Libra.  A full moon in Libra can make or break relationships and reveal some long hidden secrets.  It can also be a time of release in that if a relationship is not working for you, it may be time to let go.  And since Libra is so disposed to considering the other person, it might be a time to reclaim your power in a relationship and release behavior that is not getting your needs met.  The positive side of Libra is that it involves issues of equality, fairness and justice too.  So it can be a time to set the record straight.

A key piece of this full moon is that there are eight planets in cardinal signs and cardinal signs love action, no question about it.  The Sun, Mercury, Uranus and Eris are in Aries, the moon is in Libra and Saturn, Pluto and Mars are in Capricorn.  Venus moves into Taurus, where it is eminently more comfortable on March 31st, but Venus in Aries delivered its own share of drama, especially on March 28th when it conjuncted Uranus in Aries.  On that day I tweeted:
Mercury in Aries is retrograde and features prominently in this full moon as well.  It is opposing the full moon and so we may experience difficulty in understanding our feelings and communicating them.  It is also forming a square to Mars in 7 degrees of Capricorn, which can lead to short tempers, disagreements, and feelings of hostility.  Additionally, it squares Saturn in 8 degrees of Capricorn, which has a way of creating distance and separation in relationships.

Mars and Saturn are moving to an exact conjunction in 8 degrees of Capricorn on April 2, 2018 so they are very active players with their squares to this full moon in 10 degrees of Libra.  Squares are renowned for creating tension.  Think about where this full moon in Libra is falling in your chart and where the Mars/Saturn conjunction in Capricorn happens.  The full moon will be in my 12th house widely conjunct my Libra ascendant and the Mars/Saturn conjunction will be conjunct my north node in the third house.  I doubt that it will be a quiet time for me.  I can guarantee anyone with cardinal planets (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) in these degrees will experience major changes.

Mars in Capricorn is more assertive, focused, impulsive and impetuous during this full moon.  Its square to the sun in Aries and moon in Libra will contain a theme of what about my needs. The Libra full moon squaring Mars in Capricorn will allow anger to come to the surface, especially in relationships with women. The full moon squaring Saturn in Capricorn will remind us of past relationships failures and losses.  It could also trigger emotional coldness, nagging and bullying. Negative thinking, feelings of loneliness, worry and fears are also part of this package.   But it can also be a time to take responsibility (a major Saturn theme) for our actions by releasing those fears and transforming our lives.  Issues of power are bound to come up for review in relationships during this full moon and if we have been too accommodating to others by giving our power away, this is time to transform that inequality and restore the balance to relationships.

When Mars conjuncts Saturn on April 2, 2018, it can trigger our darkest desires and make us feel anger, resentment and a strong desire for revenge.  Mars Saturn aspects are very difficult and challenging because while Mars is all about action, Saturn tends to put the brakes on the action.  And this full moon is rife with a plethora of planets in cardinal signs, which crave action.  I come by this knowledge through a natal Mars Saturn square in my own chart.  All I can tell you about this Mars Saturn conjunction is to be mindful of destructive actions on your part or from others.

But before I leave everyone in abject terror of this full moon, I do want to share a glimmer of hope with one beautiful, positive aspect occurring on that day.  Jupiter in 22 degrees of Scorpio is forming a supportive sextile with Pluto in 21 degrees of Capricorn.  This aspect holds the promise of success through positive change and potential for spiritual growth.  Use this aspect wisely to transform the more negative aspects of this full moon into positive outcomes.

If you are curious as to how all of the planetary changes, including eclipses, Saturn in Capricorn, and Jupiter in Scorpio will be affecting you in 2018, please consider getting an astrological reading.  A transit reading might be just what you need right now to make the most of Jupiter in Scorpio.  Jupiter transits are all about taking advantage of opportunities and if you snooze you lose with Jupiter.  You have to be aware and strike while the iron is hot. The Services Offered page of my site describes the menu of services that I offer. There is something for everyone.

Recently I undertook an intensive life purpose coaching training program and became certified as a Life Purpose Coach.  It was an intense, eye-opening experience that changed my life as it caused me to reflect on the story of my life.  But I left it with feelings of hope and light for the future that I want to share with others.  To that end, I am now offering Life Purpose Coaching to my menu of services.  You can read more about it at:

As an astrologer, I have decided to include an interpretation of the north node by sign. If you are feeling stuck and need some help in getting from Point A to Point B in your quest for making positive changes in your life, please email me at lindasim54@gmail.com to schedule a complementary telephone consultation to discover if you are a good fit for this program.  I look forward to hearing from you.

If you are in the Boston area, please consider getting a Reiki treatment at Acupuncture for Everyone in Copley Square to destress, revitalize and remove blockages to healing.  It’s a perfect way to start your weekend off and can also be described as a spa for the soul to boot!   Reiki is the most profound treatment for stress relief because it concentrates on CALMING your body.

For more information on my Reiki services, please see this page on my site:

For my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule for a treatment or have difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing distance Reiki sessions for them.  I have a conversation with them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I am also offering Reiki treatments in the Coolidge Corner section of Brookline on Sunday afternoons.

But the big news is that I have created and launched a new website devoted exclusively to my Reiki practice. Please feel free to check it out at:

I was also featured in the July 3rd edition of Boston Voyager, an online publication that runs a section called Inspiring Stories about local entrepreneurs on its home page.  The Scorpio moon was trining the Cancer sun and Neptune in Pisces on that day, so my story certainly debuted under fitting aspects.  Please feel free to check it out:

In the spirit of the New Year, I have revised my package deals and I am now offering two options for package deals: Silver and a Tarot special for my tarot clients. Please check it out at:

Full Moon in Capricorn - Take One Blue Moon July

Emotions will really run the gamut during the month of July because it is a blue moon month, one of those rare months when we experience two full moons.  The first full moon occurred in 10 degrees of Capricorn on July 1st.  The second full moon will occur on July 31st in 8 degrees of Aquarius.

The time was really ripe for emotional outbursts on July 1st because this full moon involved Mars in Cancer conjunct the Sun and opposing the moon in Capricorn, which conjuncted Pluto.  And the Sun. Moon, and Mars all squared the nodes of the moon.  What does that add up to?  One major theme is resolving karmic issues.

On July 1st I tweeted:

Intense #FullMoon today as it conjuncts Pluto, opposes Mars & squares the nodes. Emotional outbursts highly likely but transformative.

Venus Jupiter conjunction in Leo today lightens tone of #FullMoon by boosting our confidence and expanding our zest for life.#astrology

Mars in Cancer formed a T-square with the nodes of the moon in Libra and Aries, so resolution of old family issues may have been another theme with this full moon.  The full moon in Capricorn conjunct Pluto packed quite a wallop because it was bound to involve issues regarding goals and reaping what we have sown.  The fact that the Sun and Mars were in Cancer lent an Aries vibe which made us restless and seeking resolution.

This was an extremely complex full moon which contained a plethora of complicated issues which could have triggered highly codependent behavior.  Independence versus interdependence was front and center, as was control versus acceptance and the fact that many of us may have experienced the downside of hiding our feelings instead of allowing ourselves to experience them in order to transform us.  It is said that a full moon can reveal, and with this full moon a strong theme was to get some clarity on emotional issues.

A Capricorn full moon involves a conflict between our financial/career needs with our personal and family needs.  Pretty potent stuff, n’est pas?  That Capricorn full moon urged us to firm up our resolve and grow in authenticity while somehow making peace with our personal relationships and our relationships with authority.  This is easier said than done for many of us.  This full moon conjuncted my north node in Capricorn and opposed my south node in Cancer, so I can definitely relate to its themes.

Personally, I have come to realize that while it’s good that I have been devoting a great deal of time and energy to building my business (Capricorn north node), I may be emotionally burning out from the effort.  It is summer, after all, and I came to the conclusion that it might be more beneficial for me to relax my incessant need to control the growth of my business during the summer and spend some time recharging by being with people I care about.  Perhaps I have neglected that south node in Cancer which needs a little nurturing and relaxation.  That south node is in my 9th house, and I am even contemplating taking a little trip soon.  Taking better care of myself and attending to my emotional needs might even make me more inspired when I decide to tackle that next phase of developing my business.  I’ve also changed my hours for my morning Reiki practice so that I get to sleep in an extra hour and be available for more clients who would benefit from a Reiki treatment on their lunch hour.

As intense as this full moon was, we had some pretty nice aspects on that day to offset the intensity. Venus was conjunct Jupiter in Leo, which certainly lightened things up.  And Neptune in Pisces was trining the Cancer Sun and Mars, which helped to cushion any blows.  Neptune also sextiled that full moon, which isn’t too shabby, either.  So Neptune stepped up to soften the impact, along with Venus and Jupiter.  Hopefully, this helped to put us all in a festive mood for the 4th of July holiday.
