Aquarius Season is Launched with the Sun and a New Moon, Venus and Saturn Hook Up While Uranus Wakes Up

 

Aquarius season is here! The Sun enters the fixed air sign of Aquarius at 3:30 a.m. on January 20.  It's time to say goodbye to the trials and tribulations that persisted when the Sun was in Capricorn and we felt tested to the limit.  I am really not bashing Capricorn, but am very relieved that the Sun is no longer in that sign. Mercury and Pluto are still in Capricorn though.  And before the Sun left Capricorn, it had its annual pow-wow with Pluto.  On that day I tweeted:

When the Sun is in Aquarius, our focus shifts to finding freedom, more concern for humanity and thinking differently.  We aren't afraid to be eccentric or original in our approach to life.  We can be more detached in our perspective and it's also prime time to let our freak flag fly.  Unconventional approaches are the norm now.  

On January 21, we have a Super New Moon in 1 degree of Aquarius.  This will be a real powerhouse New Moon with lots of fixed energy: the Sun, Moon, Venus and Saturn are in Aquarius and Uranus is in Taurus. So while a New Moon can promise change and a fresh start, we are still dealing with the qualities of determination and stubbornness that are part and parcel of the fixed signs.  This New Moon also aspects the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in 0 degrees of Aquarius of December 21, 2020.  Think back to what was going on in your life back then and how it has colored the past two years.  Pluto will be in 28 degrees of Capricorn on the New Moon and will be forming an out-of-sign conjunction with the New Moon.  This is bound to generate more emotional intensity and issues of control and power will emerge.  It will also give us a hint or flavor of how Pluto will be operating in Aquarius.  Since Pluto tends to reveal the dark side of whatever sign it is transiting, I think we can expect to see some major transformation in humanitarian goals and the role the Internet plays in our lives. Pluto will enter Aquarius briefly on March 23, 2023 until June 11, 2023 before it slips back into Capricorn.  Then Pluto will re-enter Aquarius on January 21, 2024 through September 2, 2024 and have one last fling in Capricorn from September 2, 2024 through November 19, 2024.  Pluto is back in Aquarius for the next 20 years on November 19, 2024.

Jupiter in Aries features prominently in this New Moon in Aquarius.  Both the Sun and Moon will be forming supportive sextiles to Jupiter in 4 degrees of Aries, so there can be opportunities for freedom, truth and justice.  The main thing to remember with sextiles is that you have to grab hold of those opportunities; don't sit on them or their benefits will leave you behind.  Jupiter in Aries is also forming  a square to Mercury in 8 degrees of Capricorn.  Mercury recently went direct on January 18, which was a major relief.  Squares to Jupiter are not as tension-filled as other squares.  The effect of this particular square will be to expand our ideas for the future, so the talk could could be big.  Mercury in Capricorn is also forming an exact inconjunct to Mars in Gemini on the New Moon, too, so don't be surprised if we have to make some adjustments to implement those ideas.

On January 22, 2023, we have two more pivotal astrological events.  Venus and Saturn are conjunct in 24 degrees of Capricorn at 5:13 p.m. This is going to provide a major reality check in the areas of love and finances.  Venus and Saturn are not exactly cheery when they get together, and this aspect can have a somewhat depressing tone as it also has theme of endings.  Some relationships can break up but Venus conjunct Saturn is also good for a marriage to occur because it does signify a sense of commitment.  The Venus-Saturn conjunction is exactly conjunct my Chiron in Capricorn in my 4th house and exactly squares my natal Venus in Scorpio in my 2nd house.

The Lunar New Year also occurs on January 22.  It is the Year of the Rabbit, so let's hope that it can truly be a year of peace and hope for the future.  Last year was the Tiger, which was quite tumultuous.  So Happy Lunar New Year!

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
