Mars in Leo Squares Uranus in Taurus, Jupiter in Cancer Squares Saturn and Neptune in Aries and Mars Moves into Virgo

 

Don't expect June 15, Father's Day, to be a particularly calm or loving day.  We are still feeling the effects of the Full Moon in Sagittarius that occurred on June 11 and we have two extremely powerful aspects on June 15.  Mars in Leo is forming an exact square to Uranus in 28 degrees of Taurus and Jupiter in Cancer is squaring Saturn in 1 degree of Aries.

Mars in Leo squaring Uranus in Taurus has themes of impulsiveness, cravings for excitement, recklessness and sudden actions.  It can be a very accident-prone vibe, so be careful driving.  I certainly hope that there are no more plane crashes.  Conflict is possible.  The Moon is in Aquarius on that day and it is inconjunct Mercury in 12 degrees of Cancer, which only serves to heighten the volatility factor which is in high gear from June 11-16. Harsh words could be flying all over the place. Uranus rules the sign of Aquarius. Both Mars and Uranus are in fixed signs, which implies a great deal of stubbornness.  Uranus in Taurus can involve changes pertaining to stability and finances.  If you have any planets in the late degrees of the fixed signs (Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio), I guarantee that you are going to feel this aspect intensely.  Mars will be conjunct my Pluto in Leo, so I know this one won't be easy...

Remember last week I said that even though Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, it won't be smooth sailing right away?  On June 15, Jupiter in Cancer squares Saturn in 1 degree of Aries. This aspect screams inner tension and limiting circumstances.  Jupiter wants to expand and Saturn is all about structures and testing us.  There can also be financial hardships with Jupiter squaring Saturn.  A crisis point can emerge that forces us to end destructive behavior patterns like excessive criticism and addictions.  I am not going to sugarcoat this aspect; it can be a real struggle to overcome limitations but hard work and determination will pay off. It can be a day when our patience is sorely tested.  Anyone with planets in the early degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will bear the brunt of this aspect.

Mars gets out of Leo on June 17 and enters Virgo, where it resides until August 6.  Mars is the planet of passion and what motivates us.  Mars in Virgo is all about the details; we are galvanized to get things right and perfect.  Mars is in an earth sign now, which can be much more practical and rational than in a fire sign. Anger can erupt if things aren't right, though. Try not to let your inner perfectionist sabotage you or be too critical. When Mars is in Virgo, we can also have a tendency to overanalyze.  We can use the transit of Mars in Virgo constructively to help others and embrace a more holistic lifestyle.  Paying attention to the details of our health to improve is a positive use of this energy.

Jupiter in Cancer will be squaring Neptune in 2 degrees of Aries on June 18.  Jupiter squaring Neptune can cause overindulgence, overoptimism and over-idealism as well as a lack of discrimination.  We can also experience a strong desire for escapism.  Our faith might be tested on this day.  It is definitely not the best day to gamble.  If you need some escapism on this day, try a safer form of indulging through streaming some movies or TV shows.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Mercury in Cancer Blesses Us with Sextile and Trines Before it Enters Leo and Mars Moves into Virgo

 

Mercury is moving pretty fast these days.  It is still in the cardinal water sign of Cancer and has a couple of blessings to bestow upon us before it enters Leo on July 11.  On July 7, Mercury in Cancer forms a supportive sextile to Uranus in 22 degrees of Taurus.  This can bring exciting news, stimulating conversations and boatloads of inspiration.  There will be thought-provoking ideas galore to be exchanged and flashes of insight popping up.  It is a very social and psychic vibe, so don't be surprised if you are drawn to different types of people.  Trust your intuition on this day and be open to seeking out the unusual.  Sextiles are supportive because they create opportunities and with Mercury sextiling Uranus, we are seeking the unusual and will find it easier to challenge ourselves to try something new.  Mercury in Cancer is currently in my 10th house and Uranus in Taurus is in my 8th house, so I am on the lookout for ways to expand upon my work and source of income.

On July 9, Mercury in Cancer is trining Neptune in 27 degrees of Pisces.  Creativity, imagination, sensitivity and spirituality will be flourishing and this aspect helps us to see the big picture.  It's not so great for focusing on the details, however.  It is also a time when music, the arts and literature are more enjoyable.  We can adjust our ideals so that they can become closer to the reality that we desire.

On July 11, Mercury enters the fixed fire sign of Leo for a whirlwind tour until July 28.  Mercury in Leo will energize communication with creative and dramatic ideas.  We will be thinking more confidently and craving attention to boot. Drama rules when Mercury is in the sign of Leo.  It's a very different vibe from Mercury in Cancer, which is prone to asking others how they feel.  The shadow side of Mercury in Leo is that tempers could flare and we probably won't be such great listeners.

Mars leaves Leo on July 10 and enters the mutable earth sign of Virgo, where it stays until August 27. When Mars enters Virgo it will be immediately trining the North Node in Taurus and sextiling the South Node in Scorpio.  Mars in Virgo is motivated by perfection, precision and the details count.  We want to take action to improve things when Mars is in Virgo and we aren't afraid to work hard to make it happen.  It is a slower, more grounded version of Mars than Mars in Leo.  Mars in Virgo making favorable aspects to the Nodes affords us the opportunity to let go of the past and move forward to our destiny.  Mars in Virgo has  a very down-to-business vibe, is more efficient and is a whiz at solving problems.  It's also perfect energy for tacking health issues.  But the shadow side of Mars in Virgo is a tendency to overanalyze and be too critical. Just be mindful of that while Mars is in Virgo and we should all be fine.

A Full Moon in Aquarius, Mercury Enters Leo and Mars Moves into Virgo

The planets are on the move this week and on top of that, we have the first of two Full Moons in Aquarius on July 23, 2021.  The Sun moved into Leo on July 22 and Venus moved into Virgo on July 21, inspiring me to tweet:

This will be a particularly intense Full Moon for several reasons.  For starters, the Moon doesn’t enter the sign of Aquarius until 8:12 p.m. on the 23^rd, so it will form an out-of-sign conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn.  When the Moon and Pluto are involved, power issues are a strong theme. And abuse of power is definitely part of this theme. Mars in Leo was inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn on July 22, so we are still dealing with the aftermath of this dynamic vibe that had a theme of might makes right. An Aquarian Full Moon wants full disclosure and freedom for the people and is open to using technology to achieve it.  But Mercury in Cancer is opposing Pluto in Capricorn so don’t be surprised if you hear about more cyberattacks.  The Sun in Leo is also inconjunct Jupiter in Pisces on the Full Moon, which adds to the tension and requires that adjustments be made pertaining to excessiveness.

Another theme of this Full Moon pertains to pulling away from the past and towards the future.  The Full Moon in Aquarius is also echoing the Jupiter-Saturn in 0 degrees of Aquarius on December 21, 2020.  We just might find ourselves revisiting some difficult issues from that period.

The fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio will bear the brunt of this Full Moon. Aquarians and Leos will feel it in relationships while Taurus could see some endings in the home life and Scorpio might have some endings in a job.  If you have any planets around 1 degree of the fixed signs, that planet could see some closure on an important issue.  This Full Moon falls in my 4^th house and squares my Mercury in 0 degrees of Scorpio, so I know that I will be feeling it.

Mercury is very busy these days.  Mercury in Cancer is in a flowing trine to Neptune in 22 degrees of Pisces on July 24, which will stimulate our creativity, imagination, sensitivity and spirituality.  Don’t be surprised if you feel more psychic on this day. But on July 25 Mercury in Cancer forms an exact opposition with Pluto in 25 degrees of Capricorn, so the theme of contentious communication is still present. Mercury enters Leo on July 27 until August 11.  Thinking and communication will be on a grand scale and much more expressive and dramatic.  We will be more persuasive and self-confident.

Retrograde Jupiter leaves Pisces on July 28 and moves back into Aquarius until December 28, 2021.  This will be a period of cleaning up unfinished business from March and April of this year.  Personally, I am a bit apprehensive about having Jupiter in Aquarius amidst the rise in cases of COVID-19, especially the breakthrough cases of people who are fully vaccinated.

Mars moves into Virgo on July 29 and stays there until September 14.  Mars in Virgo is a real workhorse and has a passion for details. It’s a lot less showy and dramatic than Mars in Leo. We will be acting in a more precise manner and motivated by performance. The desire to improve things and make them perfect is strong.  It’s a great opportunity to embrace a healthier lifestyle but the shadow side of Mars in Virgo is a tendency to overanalyze our actions and the results.

A Challenge to Find Balance Between Logic and Inspiration as Mercury Squares Uranus and Mars and Venus Virgo Changing the Relationship Vibe

I know that we are just coming out from the influence of a powerful full moon in Aquarius on August 15, 2019, when I tweeted:

But retrograde Uranus (ruler of Aquarius) is still calling the shots on August 16, 2019 when Mercury in 6 degrees of Leo is forming a challenging square to Uranus in 6 degrees of Taurus.  This aspect tends to manifest in lots of nervous tension and occasionally upsetting news.  Our tolerance levels may be low as well with this aspect.  I have a natal Mercury Uranus square, so I am all too familiar with what it represents.  Some astrologers have referred to this aspect as the “frustrated genius” and I concur.  An individual with Mercury squaring Uranus is bright, but easily bored and craves constant stimulation.  The mind and the desire for change are quite literally duking it out. They may feel isolated in their outlook and tend to hate school because they don’t like being told what to think.  But Mercury squaring Uranus is also capable of generating some deeply inspired insights.  The most constructive use of this energy is to find a healthy balance between common logic and wild inspiration.  Meditation and self-reflections are useful tools to engage in at this time to help us achieve that level of balance.

Relationships will take on a complete different vibe in the coming week as both Mars and Venus depart the demonstrative and fun-loving party sign of Leo and enter the sign of Virgo.  Mars enters Virgo on August 18, 2019 until October 4, 2019.  Mars is much less aggressive in Virgo than it was in Leo and is more service-oriented, meaning that we may act on our feelings by doing things for those we care about.  Mars in Virgo is slow to act and is obsessed with flawless attention to detail.  It is workhorse energy that is geared towards striving towards achieving long-term goals because it possesses courage and willpower. This is the kind of energy that makes you want to declutter and start writing those to-do lists.  Mars in Virgo can also help you improve your daily routine and focus more on health and fitness.  A major theme of Mars in Virgo is a focus on performance, but it has a shadow side of being critical of its partner and its anger can be triggered if situations or people don’t meet the high standards of perfection that Virgo is associated with.  But don’t forget that we can use this energy to improve relationships during this transit because Virgo likes to work and be of service.  Food for thought…

Venus enters Virgo on August 21, 2019 and stays in Virgo until September 14, 2019. Venus in Virgo is considered to be in the sign of its fall because it is literally in the sign opposite of its exaltation, Pisces.  Venus in Virgo has a tendency to subconsciously sabotage relationships by being overly critical and pessimistic.  Venus in Virgo has a shadow side of analyzing (another strong Virgo trait) relationships with obsessive detail. So Venus isn’t exactly the happiest camper in the sign of Virgo.

But all is not gloom and doom with Venus in the sign of Virgo.  Venus in Virgo demonstrates its love through practical means such as rendering services for those we love and simply being there for them.  It’s a lot less flashy than Venus in Leo, which is prone to romantic gestures and giving extravagant gifts.  Venus in Virgo is more reserved and discriminating.  When Venus is in Virgo, we are more motivated to improve relationships and that is not a bad thing.  If you think of Venus in Leo as representing the courtship period of a relationship, then Venus in Virgo is the natural aftermath of settling down to the daily routines in a relationship.  It is quite literally coming down to earth after the initial infatuation period wears off.  And Venus in Virgo will be followed by Venus in Libra in September, a sign that Venus rules and is eminently comfortable in. So if we do the necessary work on our relationships, we get to reap the benefits when Venus is transiting Libra.  Hold that thought…

Mercury Stations Direct in Leo, Mars Enters Virgo and a Full Moon in Pisces

It may be September, but the effects of the August eclipses are still with us. Retrograde Mercury in Virgo slipped back into Leo on August 31^st, inspiring me to tweet:

Mercury is on the move, and we are all waiting with baited breath for it to station direct in 28 degrees of Leo on September 5, 2017 at 7:29 a.m. Of course, we know that Mercury retrograde is not out of its shadow until September 19^th, but we should start feeling some relief and the ability to move forward somewhat when Mercury stations direct.  The communications bottleneck should start lifting.

Mercury and Mars in Leo have one last tango together before Mars moves into Virgo on September 5^th at 5:35 a.m. They are conjunct in Leo.  This aspect is rekindling the energy of the August 21, 2017 solar eclipse that will remain very active for at least the first ten days of September.  Mars and Mercury are also conjunct the north node in 23 degrees of Leo on September 5^th, which intensifies the inspiration to move forward on our collective destiny.  We have a Grand Fire Trine on September 5^th which involves Saturn in 21 degrees of Sagittarius, retrograde Uranus in 28 degrees of Aries, Mercury in 28 degrees of Leo and the north node in 23 degrees of Leo.  Inspiration. Impulsiveness and creativity should be flowing freely with this configuration.

What can we expect when Mars enters the earth sign of Virgo?  Mars in Virgo has a passion for details and possesses an abundance of workhorse energy.  It’s a big change from Mars in Leo, which had a passion for drama, romance and creativity. Mars in Virgo is practical and efficient.  It has a very precise quality and is performance oriented.  The focus will shift to health, exercise and work, which are Virgo themes.  In a way, Mars in Virgo symbolizes the nature of the back to school mentality associated with the month of September.

On the following day, September 6, 2017, we have a full moon in 13 degrees of Pisces.  A full moon in Pisces has a dreamy, romantic, mystical, ethereal, deja vu quality and themes of unconditional love, compassion and emotional sensitivity.  The Pisces energy will be extremely strong because it also conjuncts Neptune in 12 degrees of Pisces. Neptune rules Pisces, so we may literally feel like floating away.  Engaging in some meditation, creativity and enjoying music and the arts are a fine way to cultivate the energy of this full moon. The flip side of Neptune is that secrets and a smoke and mirror effect are often associated with this planet.  I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of some scandals and secrets being revealed on that day.  There may also be some sense of closure involved in a major situation.

We have another grand trine on September 6, 2017.  This one is in earth signs, so it may help us avoid that escapist desire by grounding us.   It features the sun in 13 degrees of Virgo, Pluto in 16 degrees of Capricorn and Pallas Athena, the asteroid associated with justice in 14 degrees of Taurus.  A Grand Trine in Earth is very favorable for success, especially if any of the players fall in your money houses in your chart, which are the 2^nd, 6^th and 10^th.  I’m not seeing a financial bonanza in my chart with the sun in my 11^th house, Pluto in my 3^rd and Pallas in my 7^th, but I am not crawling under a rock that day, either.
