Mercury is one very busy planet these days. On July 27, Mercury departed the cardinal
water sign of Cancer and moved into the fixed fire sign of Leo. On that day I tweeted:
Mercury is not all that comfortable in the sign of
Leo. Since it is fixed fire, it tends to
think it is always right and is very passionate about sharing its thoughts but
is not so great at listening to others.
Just warning you, folks because things are about to heat up…
On August 1, the Sun and Mercury are conjunct in 8 degrees
of Leo. The Sun is a very happy camper
in Leo because it rules Leo. There will
be a strong focus on communication and short distance travel. The conjunction in Leo will make it a very
social vibe and we will probably feel like meeting new people. But we will also feel compelled to express
our ideas and this is where it could get a little tricky as it might lead to
some heated confrontations. Mercury in
Leo is also opposing Saturn in 10 degrees of Aquarius on the same day and this
only adds to the combustible mix.
Mercury opposing Saturn can make us impatient and demanding. We might feel blocked from sharing our
thoughts or face strong opposition from others.
On August 2, Saturn in Aquarius is dealing with its own opposition
from the Sun in Leo. This aspect has
themes of restrictions and hardships. It
could also be harder to express ourselves and some might feel their self-esteem
plummet as our confidence takes a hit.
Relations with authority figures can be difficult.
Mercury in Leo is squaring Uranus in 14 degrees of Taurus
on August 3. This can bring excitement
and change to our daily routine as we might find ourselves forced to change
plans. But it also generates upsets,
nervous tension and anxiety. Misunderstandings and arguments are also possible
with this aspect. Some friendships could end quite suddenly as a result of this
aspect. It’s easy to feel mentally
scattered and acting less responsibly. The
perk of this aspect is that there can be some real breakthroughs occurring.
I have a natal Mercury-Uranus square, so I am going to
offer my perspective. First off, it’s a
great aspect to have if you are an astrologer because it gives you a different
way of thinking and communicating. The
words provocative and eccentric are associated with Mercury squaring Uranus. It can also make the native argumentative and
abrupt, and I confess that I have been accused of these traits on more than one
occasion. And it has a way of making one
change friendships quite often.
Venus in Virgo is also trining Uranus in Taurus on August
3. This aspect could very well prove to
be the saving grace aspect of the day. Uranus is doing double duty on this day. The major theme with Venus trining Uranus is
an urge to trying something new in romance or with money. I have this aspect natally too and I can
attest to this. I was once described as an excitement junkie in relationships. If nothing else, this aspect could trigger a
shopping spree because Venus is associated with money as well as love.

The coronavirus outbreak is causing me
to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people are
concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my
in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social
distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions
will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. At some point,
probably in 2022, I will find a new space to practice. In the meantime, a distant
Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system
and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the
comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client
about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the
session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy
and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and
my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now
offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each
other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki
treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client. I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and
