The Sun, Mercury and Venus in Aries Get Very Busy Before Retrograde Venus Re-enters Pisces

 

There is definitely an Aries vibe present these days.  The Sun just entered Aries on March 20, marking the start of the astrological new year as it joined Mercury and Venus.  These three planets frequently travel together in the same sign. I personally have my Sun, Mercury and Venus in Scorpio.

On March 21, Venus in Aries is forming a supportive sextile with Pluto in 3 degrees of Aquarius.  This will intensify our desire for love and companionship as it becomes a priority in our life.  Existing relationships can become more spiritual. If you are unattached, you could meet someone that you become obsessed with.  So this kicks off a theme of dating for the weekend.

The Sun and Venus are conjunct in 3 degrees of Aries on March 22.  The focus on companionship will continue.  The themes of harmony, pleasure and finances are also emphasized.  Beauty is important to us now, so pampering might be on the agenda for some.  Just don't do anything drastic like plastic surgery now because Venus is retrograde.  Artistic and creative pursuits are also getting a cosmic green light.  I have a natal Sun-Venus conjunction in Scorpio with my Venus retrograde, so I am partial to this aspect.  

The Sun in Aries has its own sextile with Pluto in 3 degrees of  Aquarius on March 23.  This is a day to harness those obsessive or compulsive tendencies to complete difficult tasks because there is a strong need to succeed.  This aspect also amps up our sense of power and attractiveness.  Try to use this power constructively to help others so that you will reap the benefits.

The Sun and Mercury are conjunct in 4 degrees of Aries on March 24.  We can expect more mental alertness and an emphasis on communication as ideas are bound to be shared.  Don't be surprised if you wind up taking more short trips now, but with Mercury being retrograde, please allow more time for travel.

Mercury in Aries is forming a supportive sextile to Pluto in 3 degrees of Aquarius on March 25.  We can definitely expect more depth and intensity in our thinking and communication on this day.  Probing and getting to the bottom of things are major themes.  It's also a perfect opportunity to study and do some research into whatever has been intriguing you.

As I mentioned earlier, Venus is retrograde and on March 27, it re-enters Pisces until April 30.  Venus will station direct in 24 degrees of Pisces on April 7.  Venus is exalted in the mutable water sign of Pisces and it was previously in Pisces from January 2 through February 4, 2025.  So if you didn't reap the benefits back then, you have another shot.

When Venus is in Pisces, it is easier to blur personal boundaries and be more idealistic, compassionate and empathetic.  It also fosters creativity and inspires us to engage in more self-care.  We can find it easier to let go of control in relationships too.  But just be mindful that the shadow side of Venus in Pisces a tendency to be the martyr or victim.  Hopefully we got our gullibility out of the way during the first transit of Venus in Pisces in January and February.

Mercury will be re-entering Pisces on March 29, which is also the day of the Solar Eclipse in 9 degrees of Aries.  More to come on those events in next week's post.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Mercury Retrograde and the Sun Enters Aries

 

The month of March is roaring on.  So far we have had Venus station retrograde in Aries on the 1st and the first eclipse of 2025 in the form of a Lunar Eclipse in 23 degrees of Virgo on March 14.  On March 15, the fun continues when Mercury stations retrograde in 9 degrees of Aries.  Just like with Venus retrograde, we get to experience this retrograde in Aries and Pisces.  Yes, folks, on March 29, Mercury will swim back into Pisces and station direct on April 7 in 26 degrees of Taurus. Venus will move back into Pisces on March 27 and station direct on April 12 (a Full Moon in 23 degrees of Libra to boot) in 24 degrees of Pisces.  It's becoming quite obvious that 23 degrees is a very sensitive degree astrologically these days.

How is Mercury retrograde in Aries going to play out?  In addition to the usual communication, transportation and electronic snafus, Mercury retrograde in Aries tends to test our patience even more.  Mercury in Aries loves to rush into things, but with it retrograde we need to exercise more caution and strategize. This does not come easy, sad to say.  We do get a bit of a break on March 24 when Mercury in Aries is cazimi with the Sun in Aries.  Important messages could be revealed, either through friends or possibly through dreams.  

Mercury is back in Pisces on March 29, intensifying the theme of mixed messages.  Nobody ever said Mercury was comfortable in the mutable water sign of Pisces.  This is very vague energy, so double-check your calendar to avoid misunderstandings.  We are dealing with both Mercury and Venus retrograde in Pisces by the end of March.  And it is no accident that Venus stationed retrograde in 10 degrees of Aries and Mercury in 9 degrees of Aries, which is the exact degree of the Solar Eclipse on March 29.  It would be the biggest understatement of the year to say that this first set of eclipses in 2025 is life-altering for the planet. They are serving as a bridge to a new world, and we are experiencing labor pains big time.

The Sun and Neptune are conjunct in 29 degrees of Pisces as well on March 19.  This can intensify our spiritual connection but it can also blur boundaries by leading to confusion and escapism.  The good news with this aspect is that we can experience more creativity, empathy and compassion but there is also the potential for uncertainty, overthinking and the need to let go of attachments and/or beliefs that no longer serve our highest good.  There is something about a conjunction in 29 degrees of Pisces that denotes an ending or culmination of the lessons of that particular sign.  They don't call it the critical or anaretic degree for nothing!

The Sun enters Aries on March 20.  This is literally the start of the astrological New Year when the Sun blasts into the cardinal fire sign.  Spring is officially here.  When the Sun is in Aries, we feel free to take the lead and adopt this courageous energy.  Aries is ruled by Mars, don't forget, so pursue your passions.  However, when the Sun is in Aries, we do tend to be more impatient and itching for something new. We are definitely up for some challenges, which is a good way to begin a new year on an astrological level.

Neptune will briefly enters Aries on March 30 until October 22, 2025, but more on that later.

A Blast of Energy as the Sun Trines Mars, Mercury and Venus Hook Up in Aries and Here Comes the Lunar Eclipse in Virgo

 

Well, we are officially launched in the month that virtually every astrologer on the planet is touting as the most momentous of 2025.  And aside from Venus stationing retrograde in Aries on March 1, the action has yet to begin.  The first week in March has been described as the calm before the storm, but many of us (myself included) are already feeling the stirrings of something BIG about to happen.  

On March 8, the Sun in Pisces is trining Mars in 17 degrees of Cancer.  So far, so good.  Trines are easy, flowing aspects.  When the Sun trines Mars, we have more physical vitality, confidence, courage and our intuition is strong.  We can take action based on a better understanding of our motivations.  We also have more charm, charisma and sex appeal, so make the most of your weekend.

Mercury and Venus are conjunct in 9 degrees of Aries on March 11.  When these two planets hook up, it tends to bring people together as it is easier to communicate feelings and it encourages cooperation. It is a very social vibe.  It is also a boon for creativity and signing contracts. Money could be coming our way too. Personally, I think it is quite significant that the conjunction in 9 degrees of Aries is the same degree of the Solar Eclipse in Aries on March 29.  I would encourage all of us to pay attention to what transpires on this day because that eclipse at the end of March could trigger something from day.  Just saying...

The intensity picks up on March 12 when the Sun and Saturn are conjunct in 22 degrees of Pisces.  This is definitely not a lightweight aspect.  I have a natal Sun-Saturn conjunction in Scorpio, so I am all too familiar with this one.  The themes of a Sun-Saturn conjunction include hard work, discipline, and patience. Extra responsibilities could be thrust upon us.  There is also the potential for distance and coldness in relationships.  It can be quite difficult to express our feelings and structures need attention.

And on March 14, 2025, we have our first eclipse of the year. Yes, eclipse season is here in full force. It is quite literally a doozy.  It is a total Lunar Eclipse in 23 degrees of Virgo.  It is a South Node eclipse to boot, adding even more karmic punch.  There can be themes of endings and health issues because Virgo is a sign associated with healing. I think it has become quite evident that many souls have decided to leave the planet recently and this will probably continue under the auspices of this eclipse.  Service to others and becoming more productive are also part of this package.  Lunar Eclipses are like Full Moons on steroids and their effects can be felt for up to six weeks before and after the exact date.  It is time to release old patterns and the past.  But we also need to be mindful not to get so hung up on perfectionism, which Virgo tends to embrace.

As you can see from the chart of the eclipse, we have a pile up of planets in Pisces and Aries, a theme that will continue for some time.  On the eclipse, the Sun in Pisces will be forming a supportive sextile to Uranus in 24 degrees of Taurus.  This indicates that it will be easier to implement the changes that are needed.  And the Moon in Virgo is trining Uranus in Taurus, so we can feel good about trusting our instincts regarding these changes.  But the Moon in Virgo is also opposing Saturn in 22 degrees of Pisces, as well as Neptune in 29 degrees of Pisces. These oppositions increase the potential for emotional sensitivity and misunderstandings, as well as a tendency to overidealize others.  The Virgo Moon opposing Saturn can bring on feelings of depression, loneliness, guilt or being burdened with responsibilities.  

I would also tell anyone who has a planet in 23 degrees of any sign that you will be profoundly affected by this eclipse.  I think it's a pretty safe bet to say that everyone is going to feel this eclipse, but that 23 degrees is a real trigger point. The thing with eclipses is that one can never totally say how it will play out and it probably won't kick in on that exact day, but look to the time frame of six weeks before and after with a Lunar Eclipse.  This eclipse falls in my 12th house, so it's bound to release some karma and stir my subconscious.  And yes, I have my Juno in 23 degrees of Libra, so it's a pretty safe bet to say that my marriage could be undergoing some profound changes.

Venus Retrograde and Mercury Enters Aries for an Extended Stay

 

The month of March this year is not going to come in like a lion and leave like a lamb.  Sorry about that folks, but March 2025 will be a fierce month for the whole time, full of dipping back and forth between Pisces and Aries.  And we have two eclipses in March. Both Venus and Mercury will spend time in Aries but go retrograde and slip back into Pisces.  And on March 30 Neptune will enter Aries only to return to Pisces on October 22.

On March 1 the fun begins when Venus stations retrograde in 10 degrees of Aries.  We haven't had a Venus retrograde since July 2023 when it was retrograde in Leo.  And the last time Venus was retrograde in Aries was on March 4, 2017.  This year it will slip back into Pisces on March 27 and station direct in 24 degrees of Pisces on April 12, 2025. We are in for another 40-day cycle of Venus retrograde. Venus moves back into Aries on April 30 and remains in Aries until June 6, 2025.  Just like in 2017, Venus retrograde commenced in Aries, at 13 degrees and stationed direct in 26 degrees of Pisces.  I urge everyone to think back to 2017 to reflect on what was happening for you then because similar issues could re-emerge. The United States has the same President that it had in 2017. Relationships and finances are due for an overhaul.  I have a natal Venus retrograde in Scorpio, which sometimes make a Venus retrograde transit easier for me to handle.  We'll see how this one plays out for me...

What is Venus like when it is retrograde in Aries?  We can get angry easily if we don't get what we want, we can be more headstrong and our ego wounds can be triggered.  It is definitely feisty energy because Venus is in the Mars-ruled sign of Aries, but it can give us more courage.  Venus is not in its happy place in Aries (that is reserved for the signs it rules, Taurus and Libra, as well as Pisces, where it is exalted).  But we do get another chance to sample Venus in Pisces from March 27 through April 30, which should be pretty sweet. Just remember that Venus retrograde is not the time to make major changes in your appearance, have cosmetic surgery or get married.

Mercury is pretty busy this month too.  On March 2, Mercury is conjunct Neptune in 29 degrees of Pisces.  Here we go again with that anaretic degree of 29 in Pisces.  Mercury conjunct Neptune can heighten our imagination, intuition and attention to spiritual topics.  It's a perfect time for meditation, but the shadow side of Mercury conjunct Neptune is paranoia, confusion and fear.  It can manifest either way or a combination of both.  I happen to have a natal Mercury Neptune conjunction in my 1st house, so I know first-hand that either scenario is possible.

The Sun in Pisces is also squaring Jupiter in 12 degrees of Gemini on March 2.  This aspect can give us lots of exuberance and overconfidence with a tendency to overdo.  And there might be a chance of becoming opinionated and judgmental...

Mercury moves into Aries on March 3.  It will station retrograde in 9 degrees of Aries on March 15 (the day after the Lunar Eclipse in Virgo), slip back into Pisces on March 29 (the day of the Solar Eclipse in Aries) and station direct in 26 degrees of Pisces on April 7, 2025.  Mercury moves back into Aries on April 16 through May 10, 2025.  So when I said we had an extended stay of Mercury in Aries, I wasn't kidding.

Mercury in Aries signals a time of assertive and direct communication with quick thinking and the potential for impatience.  We can be thinking more impulsively but we will have the courage to and power to persuade others. This will be especially true on March 5 when Mercury in Aries is forming a supportive sextile to Pluto in 3 degrees of Aquarius. The sweet talk of Mercury in Pisces is gone but it is coming back.  Mercury and Venus are getting do-overs in Pisces this year due to the retrogrades.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
