Mars in Leo Squares Uranus in Taurus, Jupiter in Cancer Squares Saturn and Neptune in Aries and Mars Moves into Virgo

 

Don't expect June 15, Father's Day, to be a particularly calm or loving day.  We are still feeling the effects of the Full Moon in Sagittarius that occurred on June 11 and we have two extremely powerful aspects on June 15.  Mars in Leo is forming an exact square to Uranus in 28 degrees of Taurus and Jupiter in Cancer is squaring Saturn in 1 degree of Aries.

Mars in Leo squaring Uranus in Taurus has themes of impulsiveness, cravings for excitement, recklessness and sudden actions.  It can be a very accident-prone vibe, so be careful driving.  I certainly hope that there are no more plane crashes.  Conflict is possible.  The Moon is in Aquarius on that day and it is inconjunct Mercury in 12 degrees of Cancer, which only serves to heighten the volatility factor which is in high gear from June 11-16. Harsh words could be flying all over the place. Uranus rules the sign of Aquarius. Both Mars and Uranus are in fixed signs, which implies a great deal of stubbornness.  Uranus in Taurus can involve changes pertaining to stability and finances.  If you have any planets in the late degrees of the fixed signs (Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio), I guarantee that you are going to feel this aspect intensely.  Mars will be conjunct my Pluto in Leo, so I know this one won't be easy...

Remember last week I said that even though Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, it won't be smooth sailing right away?  On June 15, Jupiter in Cancer squares Saturn in 1 degree of Aries. This aspect screams inner tension and limiting circumstances.  Jupiter wants to expand and Saturn is all about structures and testing us.  There can also be financial hardships with Jupiter squaring Saturn.  A crisis point can emerge that forces us to end destructive behavior patterns like excessive criticism and addictions.  I am not going to sugarcoat this aspect; it can be a real struggle to overcome limitations but hard work and determination will pay off. It can be a day when our patience is sorely tested.  Anyone with planets in the early degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will bear the brunt of this aspect.

Mars gets out of Leo on June 17 and enters Virgo, where it resides until August 6.  Mars is the planet of passion and what motivates us.  Mars in Virgo is all about the details; we are galvanized to get things right and perfect.  Mars is in an earth sign now, which can be much more practical and rational than in a fire sign. Anger can erupt if things aren't right, though. Try not to let your inner perfectionist sabotage you or be too critical. When Mars is in Virgo, we can also have a tendency to overanalyze.  We can use the transit of Mars in Virgo constructively to help others and embrace a more holistic lifestyle.  Paying attention to the details of our health to improve is a positive use of this energy.

Jupiter in Cancer will be squaring Neptune in 2 degrees of Aries on June 18.  Jupiter squaring Neptune can cause overindulgence, overoptimism and over-idealism as well as a lack of discrimination.  We can also experience a strong desire for escapism.  Our faith might be tested on this day.  It is definitely not the best day to gamble.  If you need some escapism on this day, try a safer form of indulging through streaming some movies or TV shows.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. A Week of Major Planetary Shifts as Venus Enters Taurus, Mercury and Jupiter Move into Cancer and a Potent Full Moon in Sagittarius

 

The month of June is off to a roaring start and it gets sweeter on June 6 when Venus enters its happy place of Taurus until July 4. Venus rules both Taurus and Libra, so it functions optimally in both signs.  Love is about to become kinder and softer with Venus in Taurus.  We can embrace a common sense approach to both love and finances.  Sensuality rules; it's time to get in touch with the pleasures of our 5 senses.  Feel free to pamper and spoil yourself.  It's a perfect time to enjoy the arts too.  Just be mindful that the shadow side of Venus in Taurus is overindulgence.

Mercury is on the move too.  It zips into Cancer on June 8 until June 26.  Our thinking and communication are set to become softer and more intimate.  We are also more willing to share ourselves more personally with others.  Be prepared to express a big case of the feels.  Intuition is much stronger now because Mercury is in a water sign.  And we are more inclined to listen with our hearts.

Jupiter is moving into the sign it is exalted in- Cancer, on June 9 until June 30, 2026.  Jupiter hasn't been in Cancer since June 2013 through mid-July 2014 because it operates on a twelve-year cycle.  Jupiter represents growth, abundance and good luck.  Jupiter transiting Cancer can also expand our emotional nature and create opportunities for a dream home life and family.  Friendships can be expanded too because many people consider their friends to be family. Self-care is also important when Jupiter is in Cancer.  Anyone who has Jupiter in Cancer (that's me) will be experiencing their Jupiter Return.  I have Jupiter at 29 degrees, so I won't get my Jupiter Return until 2026 but by September 2025 Jupiter will be entering my 10th house before it conjuncts my Uranus and Jupiter in Cancer.  But first it will conjunct my South Node in Cancer in July, which I expect will bring a release from the past.  I know that it did back in 2013; I decide to leave my job in the world of academia back then.

It won't always be smooth sailing when Jupiter first enters Cancer because it will be squaring Saturn and Neptune in Aries. This period will last approximately from June 9 through 20.  We can be prone to over idealism and bubbles can burst.  Jupiter in Cancer can also make us overly emotional and protective, which represents its shadow side.  Just watch out for overeating, being overly sentimental or getting caught up in the past.  I know this will be an issue for me...

On June 11, we have a super potent Full Moon in 20 degrees of Sagittarius.  It could be rather explosive in a fire sign, especially with a Grand Fire Trine involving Mars in 26 degrees of Leo and Chiron in 26 degrees of Aries with that Full Moon in 20 degrees of Sagittarius.  It is a very restless and independent vibe that can have a strong theme of I'm doing it my way. The Full Moon in Sagittarius is also inconjunct Uranus in 28 degrees of Taurus, adding to the volatility and unpredictability.  We just might have to make some adjustments on the fly.

With Chiron prominently featured,  it could bring intensified awareness of deep emotional wounds to initiate some healing.  Don't count out Chiron's influence.  I know that I am still reeling from the conjunction between Chiron and Venus that occurred on June 1.  The Full Moon in Sagittarius trining Mars in Leo can feature more irritation and conflict, but it also holds the potential for positive action to be taken.

Mercury in Cancer is in a supportive sextile to Venus in 4 degrees of Taurus on the Full Moon, which has the promise of words that can heal our relationships.  Overall, this Full Moon has a strong theme of getting out of your comfort zone, as truth, action and healing are major players.  Try to aim for something bigger and have the courage to move toward uncharted territory.

A Much Quieter Week Astrologically with Venus in Aries and Mercury in Gemini Taking the Stage

 

Now that we are in the process of adjusting to the shift of Saturn being in Aries, which it entered on May 24, we can do little coasting until Venus, Mercury and Jupiter change signs before the Full Moon in Sagittarius on June 11.  We also had a rather delightful New Moon in Gemini on May 26 which featured a conjunction involving the Sun, Moon and Mercury in Gemini and supportive sextiles to Neptune and Saturn in Aries.  Mercury moved into Gemini on May 25. Basically, most of the action in the coming week involves Venus and Mercury.

The month of June commences on the 1st with a conjunction between Venus and Chiron in 25 degrees of Aries.  This is probably the most challenging aspect that we will face this week.  Venus conjunct Chiron urges us to find the courage to confront our wounds and face our hurt feelings.  We might find ourselves dealing with some changes in relationships.  Try to have some empathy for those who have hurt you, which may be easier said than done. Just remember that the only way out is through while trying to choose love over fear. Of course this aspect will have a stronger impact on those who have planets or points in the late degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.  Once again, I am right in the line of fire.  This conjunction falls in my 7th house and opposes my Neptune in 26 degrees of Libra in my 1st house while squaring my Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer in my 10th house as well as my Chiron in Capricorn in my 4th house. It could very well prove to be an interesting day for me...

Venus in Aries is really kicking up its heels on June 4 when it forms a supportive sextile to Jupiter in 28 degrees of Gemini.  Venus and Jupiter are known as benefic planets and a sextile aspect can bring opportunities for good luck and growth. This is really nice energy for partying, relaxing, socializing and making money.  It's also a perfect dating vibe, so if you are single and looking for a partner, by all means get out there and mingle. Just be mindful not to overindulge or overspend because Jupiter does have a tendency to expand whatever it touches and go overboard.  Jupiter's philosophy is that you can never have too much of a good thing.

On the following day, June 5, Mercury in Gemini will be sextiling Mars in 23 degrees of Leo.  This will speed up our minds and reflexes.  Mercury is right at home in Gemini, one of the two signs it rules (the other is Virgo) and it is quite literally fueling Mars in Leo so that we can achieve a great deal on this day.  Mercury sextiling Mars provides courage, ambition while emphasizing directness and honesty.  We can absorb new information faster than usual and our words have more power.  It can also facilitate setting boundaries in relationships.  It is really a win-win day, so make the most of it.

A Really Big Week as Saturn Enters Aries, Mercury Moves into Gemini and a New Moon in Gemini

 

We have a really juicy and eventful week ahead of us to close out the month of May.  On May 24, the Sun in Gemini will be trining Pluto in 3 degrees of Aquarius, Mercury and Uranus will be conjunct in 27 degrees of Taurus and Saturn will enter Aries briefly until September 1 as a preview of its transit from February 13, 2026 through April 12, 2028.

Let's break down the action of this day.  When the Sun in Gemini is trining Pluto in Aquarius, we have a real power trine in play. There is a strong theme pertaining to choices, especially with Gemini being the mutable air sign.  We will probably be thinking big thoughts about what we want to do, and Pluto trining the Sun has a very empowering vibe.

Mercury and Uranus conjunct in 27 degrees of Taurus on the same day can bring some unexpected and shocking news.  But there is also the potential for some mental breakthroughs.  I hope that we don't hear any news about earthquakes or other natural disasters, but I am just saying don't be surprised if they occur...

The piece de resistance of May 24 is Saturn entering Aries to give us a sneak preview of what will transpire when it does its thing in Aries from February 2026 through April 2028.  It is a big shift from water to fire energy that will definitely have an effect on our structures.  I know that most astrologers say that Saturn is very uncomfortable in Aries because Aries is a very impulsive sign (cardinal fire), as well as extremely competitive and Saturn loves to take its time restructuring our lives.  Neptune is already in Aries, but they are not going to be conjunct until February 2026.  This will give us a real wake-up call regarding the geopolitical situation in the world.  Previous Saturn-Neptune conjunctions happened in 1952-52 in Libra, which was characterized the Cold War and in 1988-89 in Capricorn with the end of the Cold War, ushering in a period of globalization and new world order.

Saturn was last in Aries from April 1996 through June 1998 and again from October 1998 through the end of February 1999.  I actually was quite happy during this period in my life.  I was working very hard, but Saturn does encourage you to take personal responsibility and be a leader, especially in the sign of Aries.  And we had some good economic times with the dot.com boom.  It might take us a little longer to achieve our goals but that is Saturn's thing.  I am not that frightened of the Saturn in Aries transit or its conjunction with Neptune.  I sense that Saturn and Neptune in Aries will deliver a wake-up call that kicks off a new era, which is sorely needed.

Saturn in Aries will also focus on the Uranus in Aries era of 2011-2018, which included those notorious Uranus in Aries/Pluto in Capricorn squares that happened from 2013 through 2017.  With Saturn in Aries, we could find ourselves questioning the price of whatever rogue acts we committed during that period.  I don't know about you, but I experienced some pretty major changes during my life back then.

Mercury moves into its home sign of Gemini on May 25 and stays there until June 8. Mercury is a very happy camper in Gemini and it starts off by forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in Aries. Communication will definitely be emphasized and we should be able to get some things done.  When Mercury is in Gemini, we tend to be quite chatty, social and light-hearted.  We are also more rational and curious intellectually.  The shadow side of Mercury in Gemini is a tendency to be superficial.

On May 26 (Memorial Day in the United States) we have a New Moon in 6 degrees of Gemini.  This New Moon is conjunct Mercury in Gemini, which is forming a supportive sextile to Neptune in 1 degree of Aries, as well as Saturn in 0 degrees of Aries. Don't forget that sextiles bring opportunities. This is a whole lotta Mercury emphasis: the Moon in Gemini is ruled by Mercury.  Unlike the previous New Moon in Taurus, which felt like a Full Moon to many people, this one has a very playful and social vibe. If you have been contemplating any writing endeavors, this is the time to strike while the iron is hot.  The New Moon in Gemini is also trining Pluto in 3 degrees of Aquarius, which can be quite empowering.  There is a strong theme of choice with this New Moon in Gemini and we have some cosmic green lights in the form of sextiles and trines to give us an added boost.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Sun Conjunct Uranus in Taurus for the Last Time, Mercury Squaring Mars and the Sun Enters Gemini

 

The Sun and Uranus will be conjunct in 27 degrees of Taurus on May 17 for the last time in our lives.  Unless you plan on being alive in another 84 years, that is.  The Sun and Uranus meet up once a year, but this is the final conjunction in Taurus because Uranus will enter Gemini on July 7 and they will meet up in the mutable air sign for the next seven years. Yes, Uranus does slide back into Taurus for one final pass on November 7, 2025 through April 26. 2026 to wrap up unfinished business with changes.  The Sun and Uranus have been conjunct in Taurus since 2018.  I am positive that you are not the same person you were back in 2018 and I know that I am not.

When the Sun meets up with Uranus, there are strong themes of unexpected change, a desire for freedom and rebellion.  This particular conjunction is also bringing back themes of that Full Moon in 22 degrees of Scorpio on May 12 because it opposed Uranus in Taurus.  We might be getting more closure or clarity regarding whatever went down then.  We are bound to be experiencing urges to create a sense of stability (Taurus) in our lives by making some big changes.  Don't be afraid to stretch out of your comfort zone and do not resist the changes that are coming. What was that old line: resistance is futile? Unexpected events and opportunities can occur to help us make grounded changes.  For me personally, this aspect is exactly sextile my natal Uranus in Cancer in my 10th house. So this should  be very interesting, to say the least...

On the following day, May 18, Mercury in Taurus is exactly squaring Mars in 13 degrees of Leo.  We can expect heightened irritability, impulsive behavior and tempers will flare quite quickly.  Feelings of aggressiveness will no doubt prevail, which can lead to arguments and displays of open hostility.  When Mercury is squaring Mars, it's best not to make important decisions.  Both planets are in fixed signs, which doesn't leave much room for negotiation.  Anyone who has fixed planets or points (including the Ascendant, IC, Descendant, MC or Nodes of the Moon) in 10-16 degrees of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo or Scorpio will be feeling the effect of this aspect big time.  It is squaring my natal Saturn in 12 degrees of Scorpio in my 1st house, so here I go again...

It's time for a lighter vibe on May 20 when the Sun enters the mutable air sign of Gemini.  We should be feeling more light-hearted and open to meeting new people in addition to embracing different ideas.  The focus is on communication and multi-tasking as we seek to connect with others.  We do need to be mindful of the tendency not to overanalyze or become too scattered, though.

The Sun in Gemini forms a supportive sextile to Neptune in 1 degree of Aries on May 22.  Our sensitivity, intuition, imagination and creativity will be firing on all jets. The opportunity to make our dreams a reality exists and we can also find ourselves with more empathy for others.  It is definitely a day to explore our idealistic side, so make the most of it.

Mercury Enters Taurus and An Unusually Intense Full Moon in Scorpio

 

Mercury is making up for lost time after the recent retrograde (March 15 through April 7) by moving into Taurus on May 10.  It cleared its retrograde shadow on April 25 and has been picking up its pace. Mercury will only remain in Taurus until May 25, so I am not kidding when I say it is cruising along at a fast clip.  

What can we expect when Mercury is the fixed earth sign of Taurus?  Thinking and communication are more down to earth and practical, which is a big change from the impulsive nature of Mercury in Aries.   Common sense rules, as does realism.  We will call things like we see them.  Just be mindful that the shadow side of Mercury in Taurus is a tendency to be stubborn and resistant to new ideas.  It is a fixed sign, after all.

If the month of May has been too quiet for you, be prepared for all of that to change on May 12 with the Full Moon in 22 degrees of Scorpio.  The Full Moon in Scorpio is not exactly a lightweight, jolly one, but this particular one has even more potential for intensity, passion and transformation than usual.  Scorpio is a sign associated with secrets and other people's money, so I wouldn't be surprised if financial news surfaces that rocks us to our core.  Sexual secrets could come out too, as Scorpio has a heavy sexual connotation. Taurus is also a money sign and we have the Sun and Uranus in 26 degrees of Taurus. The conjunction of the Sun and Uranus in Taurus can also indicate the potential for earthquakes too. The Sun and Uranus in Taurus opposing that Moon in Scorpio have the potential to bring radical change, a craving for independence and downright rebellion and/or revolution.  The Full Moon in 22 degrees of Scorpio is also inconjunct Jupiter in 23 degrees of Gemini, which can magnify the importance of those secrets.  And the Full Moon in Scorpio is inconjunct Chiron in 24 degrees of Aries, increasing our awareness of our pain.  Be prepared to confront those old wounds and make some adjustments in your life to heal them.

If you have any planets or points (as in Ascendant, Midheaven, IC or Nodes of the Moon) in 19-25 degrees of the fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio, you will definitely be feeling the effects of this Full Moon.  Once again, I am right in the line of fire.  My Sun is in 19 degrees of Scorpio and my Venus is in 24 degrees of Scorpio.  Both planets are in my 2nd house.  The bottom line is that Uranus is a wild card player in this Full Moon; it can bring change, but it will probably be quite disruptive and somewhat uncomfortable.  It's also impossible to predict exactly how it will play out.  And Mercury in Taurus will be squaring Pluto in 3 degrees of Aquarius on the Full Moon, so we could be headed for some major blow-ups and big reveals.  Just warning you... 

The Moon is in Scorpio on Mother's Day, May 11, and it is not exactly friendly.  It inconjuncts Venus in Aries and squares Mars in Leo, which could lead to some conflict on this day.  Try to honor Mom and refrain from too much arguing on this day. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers and women who have nurtured you out there.
