Mars Stations Direct in Cancer (FINALLY) and a New Moon in Pisces

 

Save the day of February 23.  On that day, Mars will station direct in 17 degrees of Cancer after having been retrograde since December 6, 2024 when it stationed in 6 degrees of Leo.  It seems like it has been longer, right?  I think it is pretty safe to say that people have been feeling quite frustrated in the last couple of months and getting nowhere fast.  It won't happen overnight, but the pressure will start to lessen and we will start to get more clarity as we get our mojo back. I wouldn't recommend taking any major action on that day, because planets are so intense on the day of a station (either direct or retrograde).  Just try to breathe, calm down and realize that the time to act is coming very soon. How will it play out for you: will you win the battle or just decide to walk away?

When Mars stations direct in Cancer, we could be feeling emotionally quite reactive and protective towards those we love. Or we could be feeling very combative too.  Mars stationed retrograde in Leo, where it is more comfortable and expressive, but it opposed Pluto in 1 degree of Aquarius on January 3, 2025 and it will oppose Pluto in 3 degrees of Aquarius again on April 27, 2025. Mars opposing Pluto screams power struggles. But Mars will remain in 17 degrees of Cancer until March 9, 2025 and won't get into Leo again until April 18.  Mars will clear its retrograde shadow in 6 degrees of Leo on May 3, 2025.

On February 27, 2025, we have a New Moon in 9 degrees of Pisces.  We actually have a plethora of planets in Pisces on this day: the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Saturn, Neptune and the North Node to boot.  Pisces is the most sensitive of all the water signs, so we can expect heightened emotions and the potential for feeling overwhelmed.  Under the auspices of a Pisces New Moon, we can feel ultra-sensitive and scattered, as well as vulnerable. Our psychic sensitivity is strong and we should be paying attention to our dreams. We are also leading into eclipse season, which kicks off on March 14 with a Lunar Eclipse in Virgo.

What else is going on astrologically with this New Moon in Pisces?  Neptune in 29 degrees of Pisces is conjunct the North Node in 27 degrees of Pisces, emphasizing our spirituality. Mercury in 23 degrees of Pisces is conjunct Neptune in 29 degrees of Pisces, which amplifies our intuition and strengthens communication.  Mercury in Pisces is also forming a supportive sextile to Uranus in 23 degrees of Taurus, so it is entirely possible to come up with an entirely different perspective or outlook on a situation. Don't be afraid to think outside of the box!  Jupiter in 12 degrees of Gemini is squaring the New Moon in 9 degrees of Pisces, which can feature a great deal of information circulating.  This will be an extremely sensitive and watery New Moon, for sure.  We can feel inspired or confused; you never know which the way those fish will swim.

Mars in Cancer will be trining Saturn in 20 degrees of Pisces on the New Moon too, which can set the stage for building a new future.  New Moons are about setting intentions, don't forget. Mars trining Saturn tends to give strength, ambition and perseverance to tackle difficult and demanding tasks.  Commitment is also quite appealing when Mars is trining Saturn, so it is auspicious for business dealings or making a personal relationship more permanent.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Pisces Season is Here as Mercury and the Sun Dive into the Mutable Water Sign

Mercury enters Pisces on February 14, just in time for some sweet talking on Valentine's Day.  When Mercury is in Pisces, we are thinking more with our hearts than with our heads.  It's a big change from Mercury in Aquarius, which is more cool and rational.  Mercury in Pisces is also more prepared to mentally do a deep dive within, as it lets us be more sensitive and intuitive. Our imagination is heightened when Mercury is in Pisces, which is a boon for writers, artists and musicians.  It favors creativity.  It's also the best time to trust our gut feelings in the decision-making process.  Mercury in Pisces is very introspective, but given the mutable quality of Pisces and the fact that it is a water sign, it can also bring some confusion and a lack of clarity.  Mercury will remain in Pisces until March 3, but due to the upcoming Mercury retrograde on March 15, it will dip back into Pisces on March 29 and stay in Pisces until April 16.  So we are getting lots more of this Pisces energy.

We also still have Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, although they are preparing to briefly enter Aries this year temporarily.  Neptune enters Aries on March 30, but it will station retrograde in 2 degrees of Aries on July 4 and re-enter Pisces on October 22 to complete its unfinished business until it moves back into Aries on January 27, 2026.  Saturn will move into Aries on May 24, station retrograde in 1 degrees of Aries on July 13 and move back into Pisces until February 14, 2026.  And we have the North Node in Pisces until July 26, 2026.  To further add to the Piscean vibe, we have a Venus retrograde coming up on March 1 which starts out in 10 degrees of Aries, but moves back into Pisces from March 27 through April 30.  So this year has a very heavy Pisces/Aries vibration going down this year.  Pisces is the 12th and last sign of the zodiac, while Aries is the 1st sign of the zodiac.  We are quite literally straddling between two worlds.  We are dealing with the sentimental attachment to the old world (Pisces) while chomping at the bit to start the new age (Aries). When the Sun moves into Aries on March 20, it is considered to be the astrological New Year.  A major theme of this year is the end of an era, but we have lots of unfinished business to deal with first.

The Sun enters Pisces on March 18.  As a Scorpio, I personally love this time of year.  Altruistic feelings and dreams feature prominently while spirituality is emphasized. Empathy and compassion are running high and creativity soars.  A major theme of Pisces is letting go and surrendering.  We just need to be mindful of the fact that the shadow side of Pisces is the tendency towards victimhood, self-pity, addiction and escapism.  We can find constructive channels for escapism through music, films and art.  

This is probably going to be the quietest week in February because next week we have Mars stationing direct in Cancer and a New Moon in Pisces so try to enjoy it as much as possible.  The month of March ushers in eclipse season, which will be chock full of more changes...

Mars and Saturn Work Together, Uranus Takes Some Hits and a Full Moon in Leo

 

February is the shortest month of the year, but it is no slouch in terms of action in 2025.  On February 4, Venus moved into Aries and Jupiter stationed direct in Gemini after being retrograde since October 2024.

On February 9, Mars in Cancer will be exactly trining Saturn in 19 degrees of Pisces. This is a big deal because it means that these two planets are actually working together.  I have a natal Mars-Saturn square, so I know first-hand what it means to have these two planets at cross purposes with each other. When Mars is trining Saturn, ambition and perseverance rule.  It is a perfect time to take on those hard tasks to get the job done.  Patience and self-discipline prevail.  It's also possible to obtain support from authority figures, so get busy this day.  Your efforts will pay off.

Mercury in Aquarius will be squaring Uranus in 23 degrees of Taurus on February 10.  This aspect can bring excitement to our daily routines, but it can cause upsets and nervous tension.  We can be feeling like excitement junkies, but the potential exists for us to miss important information.

The Sun in Aquarius is squaring Uranus in 23 degrees of Taurus on February 11 and this is bound to generate uneasy feelings regarding impending changes.  The ego is strong, so watch out for angry outbursts.  The best advice that I can give for coping with this aspect is to channel this energy constructively by being proactive about change.

And the piece de resistance arrives on February 12 with a Full Moon in 24 degrees of Leo. The Full Moon in Leo is also called the Snow Moon because it tends to be a time when there is snow in winter.  But it also emphasizes creativity, self-expression and stepping into the spotlight.  Embrace that inner child that is crying to get out. Be bold because courage is also associated with the Full Moon in Leo.

The Full Moon in Leo also squares Uranus in 23 degrees of Taurus, which can manifest as rapid mood changes, irritability, impulsiveness and a general lack of patience.  Feelings of rebellion are likely and we could be encountering outbursts from friends or family.

The Full Moon is also opposing Mercury in 27 degrees of Aquarius, which could play out as making decisions that actually liberate us.  There is also a T-square configuration involving the  Sun in 24 degrees of Aquarius, the Moon in 24 degrees of Leo and Uranus in 23 degrees of Taurus.  This involves themes of freedom, surprises, and potential volatility in currency.  Technology secrets could also come to light.

Obviously this Full Moon will have the strongest impact on anyone who has planets in 22 to 27 degrees of the fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio.  Once again, I am right in the cross hairs of this Full Moon with my Venus and Ceres in Scorpio and Pluto in Leo.  The Full Moon falls in my 11th house conjunct my Pluto and inconjuncts my Chiron in Capricorn in my 4th house.  So this definitely won't be a quiet time for me...

Venus and Jupiter Are on the Move Launching the Month of February

 

I don't know about you, but I am delighted to see the month of January coming to a close.  It is an understatement to say that it has not been an easy or pleasant month.  As an astrologer, I fully realize that 2025 is a year of transition, but most people that I know are still reeling from the effects of January and sorely in need of some kind of break.

So I am thrilled that the shortest month of the year, February, begins on February 1 with a conjunction between Venus and Neptune in 27 degrees of Pisces.  Venus conjunct Neptune can bring new romance, compassion, empathy, creativity and sensitivity.  It can heighten the spiritual bonding in existing relationships. Both planets are very happy in the sign of Pisces.  But we do need to be mindful of the potential pitfalls of this conjunction.  Venus conjunct Neptune can also bring disillusionment if we have been in denial about any existing problems in relationships or a tendency to overidealize a partner.  But it does stimulate our imagination and that can be a good thing.  I say that we make the most of it after an extremely challenging January...

More good vibes are in store for us on February 3 when Mercury in Aquarius is trining Jupiter in 11 degrees of Gemini. This can bring a sense of optimism and good news.  It is also very future-oriented.  It is a highly social vibe and enhances communication because both planets are in air signs, so don't waste the positive energy that this aspect promises.

Venus moves into Aries on February 4 through March 27 but it will be stationing retrograde in 10 degrees of Aries on March 1. It will station direct in 24 degrees of Pisces on April 12 and re-enter Aries on April 30.  Venus remains in Aries until June 6.  Yes, folks, we have another Venus retrograde this year (they occur approximately every 18 months) which will do a number on our relationships and finances. I was born during a Venus retrograde in Scorpio, so I am all too familiar with Venus retrograde.

But what can we expect when Venus is in Aries?  Venus in Aries is more spontaneous and direct as it craves the thrill of the chase.  It has a very live in the moment vibe which is quite different from Venus in Pisces.  Venus in Aries can also affect our finances by increasing our desire for instant gratification, so be careful not to overspend. But if you miss Venus in Pisces, never fear because Venus will return to Pisces on March 27 until April 30.  We will get another shot at Venus in its sign of exaltation, so if you missed out the first time from January 2 to February 4, you get a do-over.

We have another major astrological event on February 4.  Jupiter stations direct in 11 degrees of Gemini at 4:40 a.m.  Jupiter has been retrograde since October 9, 2024 when it slowed down in 21 degrees of Gemini. Jupiter will remain in Gemini until June 9, 2025, when it enters Cancer, its sign of exaltation. When Jupiter moves forward in Gemini, we can be presented with new opportunities and financial rewards.  Our faith is restored and we can start to feel lucky again. This is another cosmic break that we should be grateful for.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Aquarius Season is in Full Force as Mercury Enters Aquarius, A New Moon in Aquarius and Uranus Stations Direct

 

The Sun entered Aquarius on January 19 and Mercury is joining the Sun and Pluto on January 27.  Mercury will remain in Aquarius until February 14 and we have a New Moon in 9 degrees of Aquarius on January 29. Uranus, which rules the sign of Aquarius, will station direct in 23 degrees of Taurus after being retrograde since September 1, 2024.

What can we expect when Mercury is in the fixed air sign of Aquarius?  When Mercury is in Aquarius, we tend to embrace thinking outside of the box as we are drawn to being more progressive and objective with our ideas and communication.  We will be more spontaneous and original.  Quite literally, anything is possible.  The shadow side of Mercury in Aquarius is a tendency to hurt other people's feelings because we find it easy to overlook or rationalize them.  Our sensitive side can be missing in action.  We are also prone to have issues with authority due to the independence and stubborn nature associated with Aquarius.  So while we can definitely have some progressive breakthroughs we are not exactly going to be the most empathetic communicators.

The first New Moon of 2025 occurs on January 29 in 9 degrees of Aquarius.  A New Moon in Aquarius has themes of truth, awakening and people coming together for a common purpose.  Mercury is conjunct Pluto in 1 degree of Aquarius on the New Moon, which can entail secrets being revealed, protests because Aquarius is a rebel, and the potential for revolution.  The real perk of this powerhouse New Moon is that it trines Jupiter in 11 degrees of Gemini.  This places an added emphasis on truth, social media, a new consciousness and the future.  Of course, it is perfect for setting new intentions as all New Moons are.  This New Moon also marks the start of the Lunar New Year of the Snake.

If you are wondering where you should be setting those intentions, look at your chart to see where 9 degrees of Aquarius falls.  It happens to fall in my 4th house of home, family, psychological roots and beginnings and endings in life.  It is also conjunct my natal Mars in Aquarius in my 4th house, so this is a major New Moon for me.  If you don't know how it impacts you in terms of fresh starts, please consider getting an astrological consultation with me.

On January 30, Uranus will station direct in 23 degrees of Taurus.  Uranus has been retrograde since September 1, 2024, when it stationed retrograde in 27 degrees of Taurus.  Be prepared for more external changes rather than internal changes pertaining to money, values and relationships.  If you have any planets around 23 degrees of  the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, you are probably going to be feeling quite restless and craving some changes.  Whatever you have been ruminating about since September, you will experience changes now, possibly through sudden occurrences and upheavals. The Moon will be in Aquarius until 5:52 p.m. and will be squaring Uranus in Taurus at 6:29 a.m., so if you wake up feeling restless, this could be the reason.  It promises to be a wild and unpredictable day for sure. Uranus will be opposing my Venus in Scorpio in the 2nd house, so while I don't know how it will play out, I do accept that something will be going down financially for me with this Uranus station. It goes without saying that the power of a planet is intensified whenever a planet stations either direct or retrograde.  Uranus is transiting my 8th house opposing my natal Venus, and these are both money houses...
