August is here and so is the long-awaited
countdown to eclipse season. August began
with the moon moving into Sagittarius and forming a challenging aspect with
Venus in Cancer, inspiring me to tweet:
The north node in 24 degrees of Leo is also involved in a Grand Fire Trine with Uranus in 28 degrees of Aries and Saturn in 21 degrees of Sagittarius on August 7th. This aspect will be a major driving force on the day of the eclipse. Grand fire trines can be very inspiring, which is a very positive influence. This eclipse also features the sun and Mars conjunct in 15 degrees of Leo and trine Saturn in 21 degrees of Sagittarius. Striving for success is another component of this eclipse. With Uranus being such a heavy hitter in this eclipse, we need to be prepared to act quickly. It can literally be a time when we need to strike quickly while the iron is hot, so to speak.
August starts off with moon moving into fire sign of ♐️ early this morning & inconjuncts Venus in ♋️. Annoying adjustments. #astrology— Linda Simons (@danceofphoenix) August 1, 2017
Eclipse season kicks off on August 7, 2017 with
a lunar eclipse in 15 degrees of Aquarius.
Lunar eclipses are renowned for feeling like full moons on steroids and
their effects can be felt for up to six weeks before and after the actual date.
So many of you may already being feeling the effects of this upcoming eclipse. They also bring heightened emotions and
require adjustments, so I find it quite ironic that August began with a
quincunx or inconjunct aspect from the moon to Venus. Inconjuncts tend to have an annoying vibe
that demands adjustment, and this really sets the stage for this first eclipse
in August.
Lunar eclipses are also a time of full exposure
and closure of something significant in your life. A lunar eclipse in the sign of Aquarius has a
strong theme of friendships and since this is a south node lunar eclipse, we
may find ourselves letting go of or at least reviewing some friendships from
our past that are no longer relevant.
The south node of the moon does pertain to the past. Eclipses also bring sudden changes, and an
eclipse in the sign of Aquarius, ruled by the planet Uranus, emphasizes this
theme even further. Aquarius is also
known for its qualities of idealism, the potential for an alternative reality, intellectual
prowess (I can still remember my astrology teacher describing Aquarius as the
most intellectual of the air signs) and its ability for emotional detachment. But it is entirely possible that this eclipse
will require us to let go of some of that Aquarian detachment and operate on a
more heart-centered level, which is what Leo rules. And the north node, representing our soul’s
destiny, is in Leo right now, so we should be moving in that direction.
Further complicating this lunar eclipse is the
influence of the third and final square of Jupiter in Libra to Pluto in
Capricorn in 17 degrees on August 4th. Jupiter squaring Pluto tends to generate
power struggles over fairness in relationships.
But Jupiter is favorably trining that full moon in Aquarius, which
increases the chance of success, wealth and happiness if accompanied by a more
ethical approach. Jupiter in Libra is
also sextiling the Leo sun, which strengthens the likelihood of success. But that Aquarius moon is also opposing Mars
in Leo, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself feeling impatient if success
doesn’t seem to happen on your timetable.
And try not to act in a ruthless manner, in spite of how tempting that
may feel.
What else is contributing to the complicated
vibe of this eclipse? Mercury in 10
degrees of Virgo is opposing Neptune in 13 degrees of Pisces, so we may just
want to escape reality. Don’t forget
that Mercury is getting ready to station retrograde in 11 degrees of Virgo on
August 12, 2017. It will be joining the
astrological retrograde party of Neptune and Chiron in Pisces, Uranus in Aries,
Saturn in Sagittarius and Pluto in Capricorn.
Do you understand now why I said this eclipse is complicated?
And for good measure, we have another
astrological configuration called a Yod activated on the lunar eclipse of
August 7, 2017. A yod is a rare
astrological aspect sometime referred to as the Finger of God or Fate that
features two planets sextiling each other but inconjunct a third planet. The sextiles provide easy, flowing energy but
the inconjunct to the third planet creates tension that must be released. It
involves Neptune in 15 degrees of Pisces sextiling Pluto in 17 degrees
Capricorn while both are inconjunct the sun in 15 degrees of Leo. As someone who has a yod in my natal chart, I
can tell you first hand that it is one challenging aspect but it does hold the
potential for great spiritual evolution and increased awareness. This particular yod brings the potential for
tremendous healing and increased sensitivity if we release the tension in a
constructive manner. The bottom line
with this lunar eclipse is that we need to release something in our lives but
it can be ultimately a very positive experience if we trust the process and
make room for a more positive reality.
This lunar eclipse is extremely personal for
me, as it conjuncts my natal Mars in the 4th house. I am already feeling some longstanding anger
and anxiety issues resurfacing and I am sure that they will intensify as a
result of this eclipse. But I am also
trying to have more faith in how this eclipse plays out for me because it also
trines my Gemini moon and Libra ascendant, setting off my natal grand air
trine. And Jupiter in Libra is setting
it off too, so I really need to develop that faith in my higher power that I am
always urging my clients to access.
If you are curious as to how these astrological
changes are impacting you or seeking more spiritual insight into your life,
please consider getting an astrological reading. An astrological reading can
provide valuable insight and tools. If
you are not quite ready for a full blown natal interpretation or a solar return
forecast, I also offer a basic astrological reading that will offer insight
into your astrological DNA and the major themes in your life by delving into
any pressing issues, one question astrological readings and composite couple
readings that offer insight into the purpose of a relationship. And I offer
shorter transit readings for three and six months. If you purchase a three or
six month transit reading, I will .even take a peek at the August 2017
eclipses. The August eclipses promise to be heavy hitters because they will
occur in the signs of nodes, Leo and Aquarius.

Recently I undertook an intensive life purpose
coaching training program and became certified as a Life Purpose Coach. It was an intense, eye-opening experience
that changed my life as it caused me to reflect on the story of my life. But I left it with feelings of hope and light
for the future that I want to share with others. To that end, I am now offering Life Purpose
Coaching to my menu of services. You can

For my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule for
a treatment or have difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing
distance Reiki sessions for them. I have
a conversation with them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set
up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive
healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their
experience and my perception of their blockages. I have also incorporated a new technique with
my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my
client. I use a teddy bear so that I can
scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. If this appeals to you,
please feel free to contact me by email at lindasim54@gmail.com or call me at 617-304-2205. I am also offering Reiki treatments in the Coolidge
Corner section of Brookline on Sunday afternoons.
But the big news is that I have created and launched a new
website devoted exclusively to my Reiki practice. Please feel free to check it
out at:
I was also featured in the July 3rd edition of
Boston Voyager, an online publication that runs a section called Inspiring
Stories about local entrepreneurs on its home page. The Scorpio moon was trining the Cancer sun
and Neptune in Pisces on that day, so my story certainly debuted under fitting
aspects. Please feel free to check it
out:
Additionally, I launched an endeavor that will deliver my services to
you at an affordable cost in the form of package deals. I am offering four options: Silver, Gold, Platinum
and a Tarot special for my tarot clients. Please check it out at:
