Neptune Wakes Up and a Lunar Eclipse in Gemini

 

The month of November began with a bang as Mercury stationed direct on the 3^rd and is ending on a high octane note as well.  On November 28 Neptune stations direct after being dormant since June 22, 2020 when it stationed retrograde in 20 degrees of Pisces. It literally wakes up in 18 degrees of Pisces on the 28^th.  We all know that the power of a planet is amplified when it is stationary, whether it is retrograde or direct.  Neptune can be kind of hard to pin down.  On a lower level, it is associated with fog, chaos and lack of clarity.  But when Neptune is functioning on its highest octave, we can experience deep levels of compassion, unconditional love and healing.

Neptune direct will unfold a new level of reality for us as it brings more mental and emotional clarity.  It is great for dream work and creative endeavors, but it can also make us more inclined towards escapism.  Many of us have been doing our due diligence in the past five months in terms of soul searching and this could result in feeling like a fog has lifted.  The water signs of Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio will undoubtedly feel even more sensitive and attuned with Neptune going direct.  It truly is time to listen to our intuition.  Neptune will be trining my Sun in Scorpio and my Cancer Midheaven when it stations direct so I know that I will feel its effects strongly.

Eclipses are famous for being known as game changers and on November 30 we have a Lunar Eclipse in 8 degrees of Gemini.  It isn’t a total eclipse, but this penumbral or partial eclipse is nothing to sneeze at.  Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury, which is all about information and communication.  Feelings are bound to come to a head about information.  Truth and disclosure will prevail.  Once again, I am right in the line of fire with this planetary configuration because this eclipse is conjunct my Moon in my 8^th house.

Lunar eclipses tend to shine a light on matters that were previously hidden and can bring some closure or completion to anything that we began on the New Moon in the same sign.  We had a New Moon in Gemini on May 22, so think back to what was going on in your life back then.  It is also possible that something or someone can exit your life right now.  I know that many of us had to deal with our entire way of life being altered during the past year due to the pandemic, but right now we need to trust in a sense of Divine Purpose.  That’s not to say it won’t be accompanied by a sense of sadness at whatever loss that entails, but be kind to yourself and give yourself permission to grieve if you need to.

Uranus in Taurus is heavily influencing this eclipse so expect a fair amount of nervous tension and anxiety.  On November 27, Venus in Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus, which inspired me to tweet:

And on the 29^th, the Sun in 7 degrees of Sagittarius forms an irritating inconjunct to Uranus in 7 degrees of Taurus.  This aspect adds another layer of tension as we are seeking freedom and creative self-expression.  It is eruptive energy that has a scattered quality.  It’s definitely an unsettling vibe. Uranus is the Great Awakener, but in such a challenging aspect to the Sun, it also tends to generate anger and confusion.

But this eclipse doesn’t have to be a total washout.  We have a couple of very promising aspects on this eclipse.  The Moon in Gemini is forming a supportive sextile to Mars in Aries, so don’t be afraid to act on implementing change in your life.  And Mercury in Scorpio is also forming a sextile to Saturn in Capricorn which can help us set some emotional boundaries in relationships.

The mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces will bear the brunt of this eclipse.  Gemini and Sagittarius will be seeking some type of change or realignment in relationships while Virgo and Pisces will see the changes manifest in their home life or material world.

The coronavirus outbreak is causing me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people are concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I recently learned that I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. When it becomes clearer that the virus no longer poses a threat, I will find a new space to practice. In the meantime, a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Venus Enters Scorpio and the Sun Moves into Sagittarius

 

We’re not quite through with Scorpio season yet.  We had a powerful New Moon on November 15, inspiring me to tweet:

And on the 17^th we had Mercury in Scorpio opposing Uranus in Taurus.  On that day I tweeted: 

Communications can get tricky today with Mercury in Scorpio opposing Uranus in Taurus. Nervous tension abounds and there could be issues with computers and electronics. #astrology

Mercury is with us in Scorpio until December 1, 2020.  And Venus will join Mercury in Scorpio on November 21 at 8:22 a.m. and it stays in Scorpio until December 15, 2020. Venus in Scorpio will shine a light on any shadows in our relationships providing a major reality check on that front. 

When Venus is in Scorpio, feelings are bound to be more intense.  It will be an emotional roller coaster because Scorpio doesn’t do anything half way.  It’s all or nothing.  Power struggles and money concerns could surface and I certainly wouldn’t rule out some emotional manipulation. Jealousy and obsession are likely to flare up as well.   But try to remember that Scorpio does have some positive traits: loyalty, resourcefulness, strength and determination.  Relationships could go through a major testing period during this transit, but rest assured that if a relationship survives this transit, the bond will be stronger.

The Sun leaves behind the intensity of Scorpio on November 21 and enters the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius at 3:40 p.m.  This is a welcome blast of optimism, curiosity and the desire to explore new vistas.  Prepare to feel energized, restless and a bit free spirited.  We are definitely going to be feeling more social while the Sun is in Sagittarius and we might find ourselves making new friends. Our minds are more open to different ideas and it is easier to focus on the big picture, which is a marked change from the laser like focus of the Sun in Scorpio. The lighter vibration is much needed during these challenging times.  It’s also kind of sweet that the Sun enters Sagittarius on the same day that Venus enters Scorpio.  We still have Mercury and Venus in Scorpio for passion, but with the Sun in Sagittarius, our mood becomes more positive and we find it easier to have faith in the future.  The Sun in Scorpio was all about rebirth, and now we have the energy for that new chapter in our lives.

Mercury in Scorpio cleared its retrograde shadow on November 19 and on the 23^rd it forms a flowing trine with Neptune in 18 degrees of Pisces.  This aspect is a boon for creativity, inspiration and enhancing our intuition.  Some of us may feel downright psychic on that day; Mercury will be on my Sun that day, so I am eagerly anticipating this feel good aspect.  I would urge everyone to meditate or at least be more open to listening to your inner voice on that day.  You just might receive an important message that you need to hear, possibly through your dreams.

Mars Stations Direct and a Transformative New Moon in Scorpio

 

Happy Friday the 13^th! We are actually getting a lucky break on this particular Friday the 13^th because Mars is stationing direct in 15 degrees of Aries after it went retrograde on September 9, 2020 in 28 degrees of Aries. The past two months has afforded us the opportunity to realign our energies and get in touch with our desires.  Now that Mars is moving forward in its own sign of Aries where it is strong, we have a green light to move forward and experience some progress in our lives.  

The transit of Mars in Aries has been further complicated by the fact that it was squaring that triumvirate of planets in Capricorn: Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter.  This has contributed to massive frustration with rules, regulations, government and laws that COVID-19 has created.  And now with Mars stationing direct in 15 degrees of Aries, anyone with planets in 15-16 degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will slowly start to experience some relief on the frustration front.  I have my Libra ascendant in 16 degrees, so I am all too familiar with the feeling of being stuck and am eagerly anticipating moving full steam ahead.  Just don’t be surprised if feelings of anger, aggression and impulsive urges run rampant when Mars wakes up from its two month nap.  Mars will remain in Aries until January 6, 2021, so make the most of this energy.

We are in the midst of a full-blown Scorpio season.  Not only is the Sun in Scorpio, but a newly direct Mercury re-entered Scorpio on November 10 for the rest of the month.  On that day I tweeted:

The major astrological event of the day is Mercury re-entering Scorpio for the rest of the month. Communication will become more intense and focused with the capacity for profound insights. Just be mindful not to be too sarcastic. #astrology

The pace is about to get even more intense on November 15 when we have the third Super New Moon in a row in 23 degrees of Scorpio.  A Super Moon occurs when the Moon is very close to the earth.  Scorpio is the most emotionally intense of all the Moon signs, so be prepared for a wild ride.  There is an all or nothing quality about Scorpio, and it is a sign that can be very good or very bad with no in-between territory. A New Moon in Scorpio is bound to reveal some pretty deep secrets that have the power to change our lives.  But we do have the choice to either act like a lower level Scorpio and wreak revenge and chaos, or embrace the Phoenix, the more evolved form of Scorpio that rises above the ashes and transforms itself into a higher being. It’s your call, but I for one am planning on taking the high road.

A New Moon in Scorpio offers us the chance to literally transform whatever area of life it touches in your chart.  I am excited about this New Moon because it falls in my second house of money and values while conjuncting my natal Venus in Scorpio. Hopefully it will bring some clarity about my goals. 

What is the astrological landscape for that day? This New Moon also trines Neptune in 18 degrees of Pisces which should provide us with more compassion and trust in a Higher Power during this chaotic time.  It also forms a supportive sextile to Jupiter in 23 degrees of Capricorn, Pluto in 22 degrees of Capricorn and Saturn in 27 degrees of Capricorn.  These are all very positive influences, which will have a beneficial impact on travel, freedom, structure and empowerment.  The fly in the ointment astrologically is that Venus in Libra is squaring Pluto in Capricorn on that day, which can lead to power struggles, obsession and compulsive behavior playing out in relationships.  Mercury in Scorpio will be opposing Uranus in Taurus on the New Moon, which can lead to some secrets being revealed.  Never forget that Scorpio is the natural detective of the zodiac and it loves to dig deep to reveal the truth.  Mars in Aries and Venus in Libra also in opposition during the New Moon, so there will be a prevailing theme of needing to find a sense of balance.  Don’t be surprised if the Scorpionic intensity of this New Moon feels like a Full Moon.

The political scene in the United States has been quite tumultuous lately and when I was looking at President-Elect Biden’s chart, I noticed that the New Moon in 23 degrees of Scorpio was conjunct his natal Mercury in 21 degrees of Scorpio in his 12^th house. I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if he had some news to reveal on that day.

Mercury Moves Back into Scorpio and Jupiter Conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn Take 3

 

Mercury may be officially direct now, but it is now preparing to re-enter the sign of Scorpio on November 10. Of course, I am one of those people who adheres to the shadow theory of retrogrades, so I don’t believe that we will be free from Mercury Retrograde’s mayhem until it clears its shadow on November 19, 2020.  Previously Mercury was in Scorpio from September 27 to October 27. 

Just in case you need a refresher course in how Mercury operates in Scorpio, here is a description. When Mercury is in Scorpio we are capable of profound insights because it intensifies our ability to understand human motivations more clearly.  But communication can be sharper and more stinging.  I have my natal Mercury in Scorpio in my 1^st house and I have frequently commented that my mouth should be registered as a lethal weapon. 

 We are better equipped to solve problems when Mercury is in Scorpio because Scorpio is resourceful and a natural detective.  So we definitely have an advantage on that front.  The shadow side of Mercury in Scorpio is that our thinking can be focused to the point of obsession and compulsive behavior.  Mercury in Scorpio will be opposing Uranus in Taurus on November 17 which will trigger an urge to be free of any partnerships or relationships that are holding us back.  Another thing to remember about Mercury in Scorpio is that sometimes silence is capable of revealing just as much important information as sarcastic or biting words.  Mercury will be in Scorpio until December 1, 2020.

On November 12, 2020, Jupiter and Pluto will be conjunct in Capricorn for the third and final time in 2020.  The first conjunction occurred on April 4 when both planets were direct in 24 degrees of Capricorn. It exactly conjuncted my natal Chiron in my 4^th house and less than two weeks later I contracted COVID-19.  The second conjunction happened on June 30 when both planets were retrograde in 24 degrees of Capricorn. The conjunction on November 12 occurs when both Jupiter and Pluto are direct in 22 degrees of Capricorn.  Obviously, there have been connections to spikes in the number of COVID-19 cases with these Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions.  Ironically, Jupiter and Pluto were conjunct in Cancer from July through September 1918 during the Spanish Flu.

The aspects are more auspicious on this last Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in November.  The Sun in 20 degrees of Scorpio is forming a supportive sextile to the conjunction and there is also a sextile to Neptune in 18 degrees of Pisces.  Jupiter and Pluto are squaring the Moon in Libra and Mars in Aries, however, so we could still be experiencing some strife, confusion and chaos with our political leaders.  But my money is on those sextiles propelling us forward to develop a better understanding of the developments that transpired in April so that we are able to adjust more easily to our new reality that includes more limitations in our daily lives.  The bottom line is that the Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions of 2020 will be forever associated with COVID-19.  Let’s hope that the third time is the charm in terms of getting a grip on how to handle this insidious virus.

When Jupiter and Pluto align in Capricorn, there is a strong theme of rebuilding society in the areas of government, finance, higher education and religion. It is also a time to let go of what is no longer serving our best interests.  The Jupiter-Pluto conjunction also represents an opportunity to focus on spiritual self-development because they are associate with the light and the shadow. The caveat is that if you act ruthlessly under the auspices of this aspect, you just might find yourself on the receiving end of powerful forces acting against you.

The coronavirus outbreak is causing me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people are concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I recently learned that I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. When it becomes clearer that the virus no longer poses a threat, I will find a new space to practice. In the meantime, a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
