A Dramatic New Moon in Cancer Featuring Black Moon Lilith and Neptune Stationing Retrograde

 

Save the date of June 28, 2022 because it will be a very big day astrologically.  The main event will be the New Moon in 7 degrees of Cancer.  New Moons are the perfect time to set new intentions and plant the seeds for a fresh start.  The Moon rules the sign of Cancer, so this one is bound to make us feel more sensitive, intuitive and emotional.  There will undoubtedly be  drama and big happenings on this day because the Sun and Moon are also squaring Jupiter in 7 degrees of Aries.  Jupiter loves to expand whatever it touches and on a New Moon in Cancer it can bring emotional drama via ego clashes as well as good fortune, growth and abundance.  Venus in Gemini is also forming a supportive sextile to Jupiter in Aries adding to the good luck piece of love, socializing and finances. We could also be hearing more news about inflation.  It goes without saying that the water signs of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces or anyone with planets in the early degrees of this sign will feel the emotional impact of this New Moon the most intensely.  I am on alert with this New Moon because it is conjunct my South Node in Cancer in my 9th house, so I sense that I need to set some intentions on releasing a big part of my past that no longer serves my best interests.

The New Moon in Cancer is also conjunct the asteroid Black Moon Lilith in 8 degrees of Cancer.  Black Moon Lilith is the asteroid that pertains to the shadow side of us that keeps us trapped in a cycle of self-destructive behavior.  Black Moon Lilith spends about eight months in a sign.  When Black Moon Lilith is in Cancer, the shadow of support is present and our fear of abandonment can cause us to project issues of dependency and neediness onto others.  Some of our deepest and darkest secrets can be revealed.  I am mentioning this because I have a very prominent Black Moon Lilith in Scorpio that has had a strong influence on my life.  When I learned about Black Moon Lilith about nine years ago, I engaged in some very deep soul searching because it gave meaning to a lot of the emotional pain that I had endured and inspired me to make some changes in my life.  I also offer a Black Moon Lilith reading that provides tremendous insight into how you self-sabotage.  It is not for the faint of heart, but if you are up for some deep work on yourself it is well worth it. Knowledge can be very empowering.

Neptune is stationing retrograde in 25 degrees of Pisces on the New  Moon as well.  Neptune will remain retrograde until December 3, 2022 when it stations direct in 22 degrees of Pisces.  When Neptune is retrograde, we tend to want more spirituality in our lives.  But Neptune retrograde can also cause confusion, more drug abuse, toxicity, secrets and deception.  Neptune retrograde internalizes our fears and anxieties by stripping away illusions.  It can reveal the source of the pain we are trying to escape from (Neptune is the planet associated with escapism, after all) but Neptune retrograde can enhance spiritual self-development.  We are much more likely to listen to our inner voice at this time. Neptune is retrograde for approximately 160 days every year, which is 40% of the time and it causes much less disruption than Mercury retrograde.  Its effects can very subtle.  

The bottom line with this New Moon in Cancer is that it will be more emotional than usual and don't be surprised if you find yourself engaged in some deep soul searching due to the fact that Neptune in Pisces is also stationing retrograde on that day.  Planets are at their most powerful when they are stationing direct or retrograde.  The emotional depth of this New Moon is also emphasized by its conjunction to Black Moon Lilith in Cancer.  Allow yourself the time and space to get in touch with your feelings and set some new intentions on June 28, 2022.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. Venus Makes Some Moves and the Sun Enters Cancer

 

Venus in Taurus has been pretty busy lately. The recent Super Full Moon in Sagittarius on June 14 was inconjunct Venus and this added to the emotional intensity.  On that day I tweeted:

Today is the Super #FullMoon in Sagittarius which has strong themes of freedom and truth. It will be very emotional. But it squares Neptune in Pisces indicating that all is not as it seems. Just warning you… #astrology

But Venus in Taurus is not done stirring the pot.  On June 18, it forms an exact square with Saturn in 25 degrees of Aquarius.  This aspect adds a whole new layer of stress to relationships.  We can experience delays, distance, criticism and fears in love.  Loneliness and depression could be running rampant.  It can literally feel like we have to work hard on our relationships to make them function.

Venus in Taurus is back to its loving form on June 19, which is Father's Day.  It forms a supportive sextile with Neptune in 25 degrees of Pisces, which can be a very romantic and passionate vibe.  It is also very creative but can see us having the urge to splurge on luxury items that make us feel better. It also tends to heighten our intuition and make us feel more psychic.  Unfortunately we have two more problematic aspects on that day.  The Moon in Pisces is squaring Mercury in 5 degrees of Gemini which can lead to some disagreements.  And the Sun in Gemini is forming an irritating inconjunct with Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn.  This aspect can trigger a mini-crisis that results in neurotic, destructive or obsessive behavior.  So this could be an emotional powder keg of a day.  Try not to take it out on Dad...

Venus in Taurus signs off with a trine to Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn on June 21.  This is one of the more fortunate aspects that Venus and Pluto can make, which is a good thing.  It adds depth and intensity to our feelings and relationships.  It's possible to experience inner growth and transformation in our relationships now.

Venus enters the sign of Gemini on June 22 and stays there until July 17, 2022.  When Venus is in Gemini, variety is the spice of life as we are more sociable, communicative and flirtatious.  Curiosity motivates us on romantic and social levels.  Attractions could begin on a mental level and words are powerful aphrodisiacs.  The shadow side of Venus in Gemini is fickleness, as we there are lots of choices available to us. If we meet someone new, we might tire of them quickly.  Since Venus also rules finances, we need to be mindful of careless spending at this time.

The Sun moves into Cancer for the Summer Solstice on June 21.  It's officially summer.  When the Sun is in Cancer, we are more self-protective and our nesting instinct takes over.  Emotions run deep because Cancer is a water sign.  The water signs of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces will be very comfortable with this transit, as will the earth signs of  Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn.  But Libra and Aries will experience more emotional tension while the Sun is in Cancer.

Mercury Trine Pluto Take 3, Venus and Uranus Hook up in Taurus and a Super Full Moon in Sagittarius

 

We have another action-packed week ahead of us that will make June a month to remember.  Mercury in Taurus will be forming its third exact trine to Pluto in 28 degrees of Capricorn on June 10.  The first two occurred on April 28th right before Pluto stationed retrograde on April 29, the second happened on May 25th when Mercury was retrograde, and now that Mercury is direct, we are getting the third hit.  I encourage you to think back to what was happening in your lives back then. If you were trying to negotiate for something and weren't successful, this could be your lucky break.  You know the old saying, "Third time is the charm."  This literally could be very fortunate because your words are powerful now and we should not be afraid to pursue our passions and goals.  I fervently believe that the third take of an aspect that occurs because of retrograde planets is the most potent because it takes us mere mortals three times to grasp the meaning and get it right.  If you were not successful in obtaining desired results back in April and May, persist (Mercury is still in Taurus, which is fixed earth and you can't get more determined than that) and speak up.  Maybe you are trying to get a loan or sell someone on your services.  We have had two eclipses since the first Mercury-Pluto trine and Mercury is now direct, so we have all experienced lots of changes.  Go for it, because the force is with you. Our words can be very persuasive now.

On the following day, June 11, Venus and Uranus will be conjunct in 16 degrees of Taurus.  This is a really spicy and juicy aspect that brings a lot of restlessness and the potential for sudden changes in love and finances.  If you are single, you probably won't be able to resist putting yourself out there to meet someone new.  This aspect can also trigger a sudden breakup.  If you do meet someone new, just be mindful that it might not be the most long-lasting relationship due to the Uranus factor.  Venus in Taurus is in its happy place and loves the idea of commitment, but Uranus is all about sudden attractions that can come and go on a whim.  Uranus is not very comfortable in the sign of Taurus, which craves stability.  It is at a distinct disadvantage in Taurus. I swear that one of the reasons we have experienced so many climate and weather disruptions is Uranus in Taurus; Uranus is literally blowing up the earth. Venus is also about money, so watch out for impulse buying. This conjunction is occurring in my 8th house, so I had better watch myself with credit cards on that day or risk incurring some bills that I don't want.  The 2nd and 8th houses are the money houses, so keep that in mind if this conjunction is falling in those houses in your chart.  Unexpected expenses could crop up...

On June 14, 2022 we have a Super Full Moon in 23 degrees of Sagittarius.  Super Full Moons have that moniker because the Moon is very close to the earth and they tend to ramp up the emotional intensity.  A Full Moon in Sagittarius has themes of freedom, truth and justice.  Don't forget that Full Moons tend to reveal secrets.  This is also called the Strawberry Moon, but as astrologer Penny Thornton commented in her recent video, this Full Moon might not be as sweet as a strawberry.  We can't discount the importance of Neptune in Pisces in this Full Moon.  Neptune is in 25 degrees of Pisces and is involved in a T-square with the Sun in Gemini and the Moon in Sagittarius.  The Neptune factor means that things are not always as they seem and the lines of reality can be blurred.  It can reveal some ugly secrets and we can definitely expect some uncertainty.  Don't be too concerned if you have trouble making up your mind right now; feel free to take some time to make major decisions.  Indecisiveness can be a major feature of this Full Moon.

Saturn in 25 degrees of Aquarius is also factoring into this Full Moon because the Moon in Sagittarius is forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in Aquarius, which recently stationed retrograde on June 4th.  On that day I tweeted:

When the Moon is sextiling Saturn, we find it easier to focus on the emotional structures in our life and connect with supportive resources and relationships that enhance our security.  And the Sun in Gemini is also trining Saturn in Aquarius, which can make it easier to deal with our responsibilities because we have more energy at our disposal.  So for a refreshing change of pace, Saturn is not the bad guy here and can be a bright spot during this challenging time.

I would also like to state that anyone with planets in 23-25 degrees of the mutable signs of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius will take the biggest hit from this Full Moon.  You will probably experience more emotional intensity from this Full Moon than others.

Mercury Moves into Direct Motion and Saturn Retrogrades in Aquarius

Hallelujah, Mercury is stationing direct on June 3 in 26 degrees of Taurus after an especially grueling Mercury Retrograde that began on May 10 in 4 degrees of Gemini.  I don't know about you, but this one has been tough for me and a lot of people that I know.  I can't tell you how many Zoom sessions have been subject to technical errors, computers have been breaking down, cell phone calls cut off and I even had a new eyeglass prescription that was misinterpreted by an optician.  The list goes on and on.  I suspect we all knew that having a Mercury retrograde that started in Gemini (one of the signs that Mercury rules) would be trouble and it did not fail to disappoint.  When Mercury entered the fixed earth sign of Taurus on May 22, the focus shifted to reevaluation of our finances and values.  Of course, when a planet is stationing either direct or retrograde, the energy is bound to be disruptive and jarring for a couple of days.  So while we are celebrating the return of direct motion for Mercury and the light at the end of the tunnel, try to exercise a bit of patience while Mercury sorts itself out and clarity returns.  Mercury moves back into Gemini on June 13 so we should be able to see some completion of whatever issues we were dealing with back in May.  If you believe in the shadow theory of retrogrades, Mercury clears its retrograde shadow on June 18 when it hits 4 degrees of Gemini and we are totally out of the woods.  But I can assure you that we start to feel relief on June 3.

But on June 4 karma comes calling when Saturn retrogrades in 25 degrees of Aquarius until October 22, 2022 when it station directs in 18 degrees of Aquarius.  Saturn is the planet associated with karma, restrictions, limitations, responsibilities and structures.  It is also associated with delays as Saturn loves to test us and make us wait for what we deserve.  If we have been bad, something will occur in our lives as a direct result of our actions.  Conversely, if we have been working hard and doing the right thing, we just might get rewarded.  Saturn gives us what we deserve. Saturn retrograde is an opportunity for us to learn from our mistakes as Saturn is also known as the Great Teacher.

When Saturn is in a stationary motion, some of us might feel the burden of our responsibilities more heavily and just be more exhausted.  It can be a time to review the boundaries and structures in our lives and perhaps set better boundaries in our personal relationships.  Saturn is notorious for creating delays too.  How will Saturn retrograde affect you?  It's important to look at the house that Saturn is transiting in your chart but also to look at the house that Saturn rules.  Whatever house has Capricorn on the cusp is that house.  Saturn is currently transiting my 5th house of romance, children and creativity but Capricorn is on the cusp of my 4th house of home, family, psychological roots and beginnings and endings in life.  I swear that I am feeling it most intensely there.  

There is one perk to Saturn retrograde.  If you have a heavy natal Saturn in your chart, your depression might actually lift a bit during the Saturn retrograde transit.  I have Saturn in my 1st house widely conjunct my Scorpio Sun in my 2nd house, so I have always considered myself to be an overly responsible person and Saturn in the 1st house is by nature more reserved and cautious.  So I am hoping for a little relief and can honestly say that I have been doing what I need to be doing to fulfill my responsibilities.  That is not to say that I haven't made mistakes, but I am trying to remain open to learning from them and integrating that Aquarian future-oriented energy to move forward in late October when Saturn is direct.

We have one delightful aspect to look forward to on June 6.  The Sun in 15 degrees of Gemini is forming a supportive sextile to Chiron in Aries.  This represents an opportunity to heal old emotional wounds as we find it easier to focus on healing.  If you are curious about how Chiron impacts you, I urge you to purchase a Chiron Report reading.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice in order to practice social distancing. I no longer have my Brookline office, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
