Uranus Goes Direct in Taurus Adding a Green Light to Moving Forward and Change



Save the day of January 27, 2024 because on that day Uranus stations direct in 19 degrees of Taurus after having been retrograde since August 28, 2023.  It stationed retrograde back then in 23 degrees of Taurus, so if you have planets between 19-23 degrees of the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius, you have been feeling the angst big time for the past five months. You have probably been contemplating changes, but felt somewhat stymied in terms of what course of action to take.  Uranus is the planet that symbolizes breakthrough, revolution, innovation and is known as the Great Awakener. When Uranus stationed retrograde in August, it was opposing my Venus in Scorpio in my 2nd house and when it stations direct, it will be directly opposing my Sun in Scorpio in my 2nd house.  It also marks the day that all of the planets are in direct motion until April 1 when we have our first Mercury retrograde of 2024 in Aries.

We have had quite an intense week astrologically.  On January 20, after a final conjunction between the Sun and Pluto in 29 degrees of Capricorn, both the Sun and Pluto entered Aquarius.  The Sun enters Aquarius every year, but Pluto entering Aquarius is a rare occurrence.  Okay, it dipped its toes in briefly last year from March 23 through June 11, but it is really getting its feet wet this time before it has one final quick sweep to clean up in Capricorn from September 1 through November 19.  On January 20, I posted:
We also had the first Full Moon of 2024 on January 25 in 5 degrees of Leo that was pretty potent.  On that day I posted:
But I think we are all familiar with the theory that when a planet is stationing, either retrograde or direct, its power is intensified for about five days before and after the actual date of the station.  The bottom line is that if Uranus has been aspecting any of your planets, you have probably been experiencing some intense emotions and anxiety about whatever radical changes you want to make in your life.  Now that Uranus in Taurus has joined the all-direct party of planets, the sense of urgency to implement change is more palpable.

Mercury and Mars are also conjunct in 17 degrees of Capricorn on January 27, so we are going to feel even more inspired to launch new ideas.  It is a very creative vibe.  On January 28, both Mercury and Mars in 18 degrees of Capricorn will be squaring the North Node in Aries and South Node in Libra.  This only serves to fuel our desire to make choices and take action.  Mercury in Capricorn will also be trining Uranus in 19 degrees of Taurus on January 28, which can bring interesting news and approaches to situations.  Venus in Capricorn is also trining Jupiter in 6 degrees of Taurus on that day, which is a real feel-good aspect that helps us to embrace joy and love.  It also fosters creativity and perhaps a desire to engage in some shopping.

We are really feeling the urge to break free, take risks and start some new projects on January 29 when Mars in Capricorn is trining Uranus in 20 degrees of Taurus.  Don't forget that Mars is a very happy camper in Capricorn, eager to accomplish great feats.  And when these two earth signs of Capricorn and Taurus get together, they want to build something that can last.  The astrological log jam has been broken and we have over two months to plunge ahead to implement the plans we have been contemplating since last summer.  Full speed ahead...

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. An Action-Packed Week as the Sun and Pluto Enter Aquarius, Venus Moves into Capricorn and the First Full Moon of 2024 in Leo






This is it, folks.  If you haven't felt like 2024 is officially here, I guarantee that you will this week.  On January 19, Mercury in Capricorn will be exactly trining Jupiter in 6 degrees of Taurus, providing us with an optimistic tone to our communication and facilitating our ability to be more organized and make plans. On the same day, Venus in Sagittarius will be exactly squaring Neptune in 25 degrees of Pisces, which can put us in the mood for partying and wanting to enjoy some beauty in our lives.  Don't even think of going on a diet, though with this aspect. It does not encourage self-discipline.

But mark the day of January 20 on your calendar.  This might very well be the official start of 2024.  The Sun and Pluto will be conjunct in 29 degrees of Capricorn at 8:46 a.m. on that day for the last time.  It is common knowledge that 29 degrees is considered to be the critical or anaretic degree, so we can expect some drama and upsets to occur.  Paranoia might rear its ugly head and many of us could feel like this is the last straw.  We are in a major process of transformation and some things could be removed from our lives.

At 9:07 a.m. on January 20, the Sun enters the fixed air sign of Aquarius.  This happens every year and it marks a change in our focus.   When the Sun is in Aquarius, we want to be free and original.  We are more innovative and concerned with the greater good.  Equality becomes a priority now.  We could also feel like enlarging our social circle and might find a new tribe that meshes with our beliefs.

But Pluto is also entering Aquarius on January 20 at 7:50 p.m.  This is huge and will usher in a new reality.  Pluto briefly tiptoed into Aquarius in 2023 from March 23 through June 11 to give us a taste which mostly shone a light on AI, but Pluto will remain in Aquarius until September 1, 2024 when it returns to Capricorn until November 19, 2024 to attend to unfinished business.  This unfinished business will probably revolve around the final touches of transforming our financial and governmental structures. When Pluto returns to Aquarius on November 19, it will stay in Aquarius for good until March 8, 2043. I have made peace with the fact that Pluto will remain in Aquarius for the rest of my life; I was born with Pluto in Leo.  Countries, like the United States, have Pluto Returns, but people don't because we don't have a 248-year life span.

The last time Pluto was in Aquarius for an extended stay was from 1778 to 1798.  This was the age of Revolution: the American Revolution, the French Revolution and the Industrial Revolution.  Destruction and rebirth are the calling cards of Pluto.  When Pluto is in Aquarius, 
we should all consider giving back to our communities.  It will quite literally be the era of Power for the People.

Mercury in 8 degrees of Capricorn leaves its retrograde shadow on January 20 as well.  Hooray!  The Moon also enters Gemini at 8:58 a.m. just a few minutes after the Sun enters Aquarius.  This is significant because we will finally have some planets in air by the evening: the Sun and Pluto in Aquarius and the Moon in Gemini.  In case you haven't noticed, we haven't had any air planets recently.  Now that we have some planets in air signs, communication can proceed more smoothly.  And having Mercury clearing its retrograde shadow on the same day is a real perk.

Venus leaves party sign Sagittarius for Capricorn on January 23, 2024 and stays in Capricorn until February 16, 2024.  When Venus is in Capricorn, our style of showing love and affection is more subdued and we are craving stability. It is a time of getting serious about love, commitment and finances. But Venus in Capricorn does reward hard work in relationships.

And on January 25, we have our first Full Moon of 2024 in 5 degrees of Leo.  This is bound to  be felt on a deeply emotional level.  This Full Moon has been referred to as the Wolf Moon because wolves are heard howling in the winter.  Major themes of this Full Moon include listening to your heart (Leo rules the heart), engage in some self-love and let your inner child out to play so that you can find your truth and release those emotions.

What is the astrological landscape of this Full Moon?  For starters, this Full Moon in Leo is opposing Pluto in 0 degrees of Aquarius, which can play out as volatility, mood swings, inner turmoil, relationship drama and for some, vulnerability to manipulation.   The Full Moon in 5 degrees of Leo is also squaring Jupiter in 6 degrees of Taurus, which can have us wanting to claim our power but feeling overwhelmed.  The Full Moon in Leo is involved in a T-square because it opposes both the Sun and Pluto in Aquarius while squaring Jupiter in Taurus, so it can be an explosive mix.  But T-squares do have a way of motivating us.  We might find ourselves having to make some adjustments in relationships because the Full Moon in Leo is inconjunct Saturn in 5 degrees of Pisces and Venus in 2 degrees of Capricorn.  The bright side of this Full Moon is that Jupiter in Taurus is forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in Pisces, which can help stabilize our spiritual growth.

A Last Blast of Capricorn Energy Before Aquarius Season Starts

 



We are in the final stretches of both the Sun and Pluto in the sign of Capricorn because they are both entering Aquarius on January 20.  Our world will be changing even more rapidly when both of these planets move into the future-oriented sign of Aquarius. But there is plenty of Capricorn action going down in the meantime.  We had a New Moon in 20 degrees of Capricorn on January 11, when I posted:
On January 12, 2024, Mars in Capricorn is exactly trining Jupiter in 5 degrees of Taurus. This is a delightful aspect coming on the heels of a New Moon because it increases our desire to win and be successful.  Lucky Jupiter can be bringing us opportunities and we should definitely take action to increase our wealth and improve relationships.  

Mercury re-enters Capricorn (where it stationed retrograde on December 13, 2023) on January 13, 2024.  Ironically, it will clear its retrograde shadow on January 20 when it hits 8 degrees of Capricorn.  When Mercury is in Capricorn, communication is very decisive, focused, practical and methodical. We want to be very efficient and realism rules.  The shadow side of Mercury in Capricorn is coming across in an authoritarian tone or being too rigid in our thinking. Just be mindful of these potential pitfalls. Mercury will remain in Capricorn until February 5, 2024.

The Sun in Capricorn is forming a supportive sextile to Neptune in 25 degrees of Pisces on January 15, 2024.  This will heighten our sensitivity, intuition and creativity.  It also gives us more empathy and a desire to serve others.  This is optimal energy for visualizing and dreaming of a better future.

Mercury in Capricorn will be sextiling Saturn in 5 degrees of Pisces on January 18, 2024.  This is yet another aspect that can be delivering opportunities our way.  Thinking is clearer now, as is common sense and good judgment.  It is also favorable for contracts, so by all means, feel free to engage in some negotiations.

I just want to emphasize that Mars, the Sun and Mercury in Capricorn are making some pretty sweet aspects in the coming week and that we should take full advantage of them. Strike while the iron is hot, so to speak.  The Sun will be departing Capricorn on January 20 with Pluto, Mercury zips into Aquarius on February 5, and Mars moves into Aquarius on February 13.  We need to tap into that can-do, focused vibe of Capricorn before it is gone.  This is a time to get those New Year's Resolutions set and launched. The pace will definitely be picking up once we are in Aquarius season--more on that in next week's post.

Change is in the Air as the Sun Trines Uranus and a New Moon in Capricorn


 

Happy New Year!  We are finally in the year 2024 and change is underfoot. The year began with encouragement when Mercury stationed direct in Sagittarius on the evening of January 1.  On that day I posted:
Mercury still has a little unfinished business to attend to as it starts moving forward.  On January 8, Mercury in Sagittarius will exactly square Neptune in Pisces for the third time.  The first time occurred on November 27, 2023 when Mercury in Sagittarius squared retrograde Neptune in 24 degrees of Pisces.  It happened again on December 27 with Mercury retrograde squaring Neptune direct in 25 degrees of Pisces.  Mercury squaring Neptune can bring confusion, distortion and an inclination towards substance abuse as a means of escapism.  But the good news on January 8 is that both Mercury and Neptune are direct in 25 degrees of their respective signs, so there is hope that whatever issues we faced in late November and December of 2023 will have a resolution this time.  As they say, the third time is the charm...

On January 9, 2024, the Sun in Capricorn will be exactly trining Uranus in 19 degrees of Taurus.  This is a really positive influence for making changes without all of the disruption that Uranus is usually associated with.  It also fosters creativity.  Mars in Capricorn is also forming a supportive sextile to Saturn in 4 degrees of Pisces, so we have the patience, fortitude and perseverance to get moving.

The first New Moon of 2024 happens on January 11 in 20 degrees of Capricorn.  It is also trining Uranus in Taurus, so it is easier to break free of the ruts that we find ourselves in.  The Moon trining Uranus is very future-oriented, inspirational and can provide a ton of inspiration.  A New Moon in Capricorn is brimming with strong ambitions, so be sure to set your goals and work in practical ways. Plant the seeds for the structures you want to build in the coming year because Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and we all know that Saturn is associated with structures. Saturn in 4 degrees of Pisces is also sextiling Jupiter in 5 degrees of Taurus, which favors stability and growing business.

One thing that we do need to be mindful of with this New Moon in Capricorn is that it squares the North Node 20 degrees of Aries and squares the South Node in 20 degrees of Libra. This is bound to generate some tension between the past and the future.  The North Node in Aries is also conjunct Chiron in 15 degrees of Aries, so we could find ourselves dealing with some major collective wounds as we attempt to avoid codependent behaviors with that square to the people-pleasing South Node in Libra.  And this New Moon in 20 degrees of Capricorn is very close to the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in 22 degrees of Capricorn on January 12, 2020 that ushered in the COVID pandemic.  I am by no means predicting anything regarding the pandemic, although COVID cases are rising and many hospitals are instituting mask mandates again.

The Moon in Capricorn will be conjunct Pluto in 29 degrees of Capricorn at 9:33 p.m. on January 11, and this will undoubtedly cause some power issues to emerge on that day.  They don't call 29 the anaretic degree for nothing!  It could be a very busy day with the news...

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. I also wanted to note that in an ironic twist of fate, one of the latest variants of COVID is EG.5, with a nickname of Eris.  Sound familiar--the Goddess of Discord?  Apparently, COVID cases and hospitalizations are on the rise...


I urge everyone to engage in massive amounts of self-care and follow the protective measures of washing your hands frequently, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, wearing a face mask when necessary and staying home if you are sick. And get a vaccine. The newest vaccine is available and I encourage you to get it to protect yourself. I repeat, you do not want to get this virus! I speak from personal experience and consider myself very fortunate to have survived Coronavirus twice. Stay safe and healthy, everyone!
