The New Moon
is here in all its glory in 19 degrees of Sagittarius, exact at 5:29 a.m. on
December 11, 2015. This new moon brings the hope and faith associated with Sagittarius
but is complicated by a couple of very intense T-Squares. What is a T-Square? A T-Square occurs when two planets or points
in opposition to each other form a square with another point or planet, which
is the focal point of activity. This planet
or point may strive to overcompensate as a result of being the recipient of all
this action. A T-Square stimulates drive
and courage as well as tension and conflict.
I will be discussing a cardinal T-Square and a mutable T-Square that are
featured in this New Moon.
Cardinal
T-Squares can be very active and achievement oriented because they produce
enterprising behavior and love to initiate, but can also generate a great deal
of impatience. I can attest to this fact
because I have a cardinal T-Square in my chart involving my Jupiter/Uranus
conjunction in Cancer, my Chiron in Capricorn and Neptune in Libra. I know that this is a huge factor in
contributing to my natural impatience and desire for my own business. Unfortunately, a cardinal T-Square also has
the potential to waste energy in needless conflicts and frustrations.
The cardinal
T-Square in this New Moon involves Mars in 16 degrees of Libra opposing Uranus
in 16 degrees of Aries and squaring Pluto in 14 degrees of Capricorn. Remember those seven Uranus Pluto squares
between 2012-2105? If it feels like they
are back again, you are not imagining it. By December 31, 2015, Pluto will be
in 15 degrees of Capricorn and Uranus will be in 16 degrees of Aries. This is not exact, but it is the closest
these two planets have been since the last exact square on March 16, 2015. Cardinal T-Squares are renowned for
triggering crisis situations and the Uranus Pluto squares were all about crises
that forced us (kicking and screaming all the way for some folks) to transform
our lives for the better by purging and releasing outworn structures. So we are getting a taste of that energy
again. The Uranus Pluto squares may be
over, but believe me when I say that the aftereffects will still be felt
through 2016.
The mutable
T-Square with this New Moon involves the Sun and Moon in 19 degrees of
Sagittarius opposing Jupiter in 22 degrees of Virgo squaring Chiron in 17
degrees of Pisces. A mutable T-Square
produces restlessness and frequent changes of mind but possesses the ability to
adapt well to changing circumstances. I
always love to describe mutable energy as the ability to go with the flow and
is like a chameleon. Major themes of
this mutable T-Square include conflicting belief systems between faith and fear
and developing new skills and structures for problems that arise. The New Moon’s square to Jupiter is
overexuberant and can indicate that too much of a good thing will still not be
enough for us.
I am not
surprised that Chiron is the focal point of this mutable T-Square. Chiron in Pisces has been a major player
throughout 2015 and I have no doubt that it will continue through 2016. Healing is a huge piece in this cosmic arena and
it is not one who goes gently into the good night.
While these
two T-Squares featured prominently in the New Moon, we also have had some
really positive, flowing aspects that accompanied the Sagittarius New
Moon. Uranus in Aries is trining the New
Moon, so don’t rule out any pleasant surprises.
Mars in Libra also sextiles the New Moon, which is definitely favorable
for relationships. The healing theme is
reinforced by the trine of Neptune in Pisces to Venus in Scorpio. This aspect can help heal troubled
relationships and boost spiritual connections. It also inspires
creativity. So this New Moon definitely
has the potential to live up to its upbeat, optimistic, Sagittarian ideals.
As for me, I am relishing the fact that Mars in 16 degrees
of Libra has finally entered my first house and left my 12th
house. I am feeling more energized and
empowered. And I am joyfully experiencing
the buzz of the Sagittarius influence on my 3rd house, as
communication expands and I hear from new and existing clients.
The north node moved into Virgo recently, which has an
underlying theme of service to others.
In that spirit of pursuing my path as a healer, I am channeling that north
node and Jupiter in Virgo energy by offering my Reiki services. If you are in
