Uranus Calls the Shots on Unpredictable Full Moon in Aries

Super Full Moon Alert!  The full moon in 23 degrees of Aries which occurs on October 16, 2016 or October 15, 2016 if you live on the west coast of the United States, is going to be one wild ride.  It reminds me of the famous line Bette Davis uttered in the movie All About Eve: “Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night.” And Bette Davis was an Aries, to boot, born on April 5, 1908!

The buildup to this super full moon, which is defined as when the moon is within 90% of its closest approach to the earth (aka perigee) began on October 13, 2016 when Mercury in Libra squared Mars in Capricorn, prompting me to tweet:

“Tempers could definitely flare today as Mercury in Libra squares Mars in Capricorn. The #FullMoon craziness is just starting.”

The moon entered Aries on October 14th and on October 15th the sun opposed Uranus in Aries fueling the fire for Uranus to become even more disruptive. I loved what astrologer Henry Seltzer said about this full moon on his latest Astrograph post:

“Everyone acknowledges that this degree of dysfunction cannot go on much longer.  Something has got to give.”

This full moon in Aries is all about Me (Aries moon) vs. We (Libra sun) and it is quite clear that Me wants to come out on top!  The Aries full moon conjuncts Uranus in 22 degrees of Aries, which is a strong indicator that it will be electrifying, awakening and sudden, disruptive changes can and will occur.  It can manifest on a personal level in our relationships, but don’t be surprised if you also hear about even more shocking events in the world.  More craziness will be exposed in a big, explosive way, accompanied by a major sense of urgency that could lead to some pretty impulsive actions.  It will be an extremely emotional full moon, especially for anyone who has planets or points (ascendant, midheaven or nodes) around 23 degrees of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.  It is hitting close to home for me because this full moon opposes my Neptune in the 1st house, squares my Cancer midheaven, and trines my Pluto in Leo in the 11th house.  If you are wondering how it will impact you, this is the perfect time for you to get an astrological reading with me!

If you are seeking more spiritual insight into your life, please consider getting an astrological reading. An astrological reading can provide valuable insight and tools.  If you are not quite ready for a full blown natal interpretation or a solar return forecast, I also offer one question astrological readings and composite couple readings that offer insight into the purpose of a relationship. And I offer shorter transit readings for three and six months which might help you navigate the rest of 2016 a little easier. If you purchase a three or six month transit reading, I will even look at how September’s eclipses affected you! A contribution in any amount is deeply appreciated as gratitude is a daily part of my spiritual practice.

Mars and Pluto are not exactly innocent bystanders in this full moon scenario, either.  Mars is in Capricorn, where it is very strong, but it is also the ruling planet of Aries.  On the full moon Mars in Capricorn trines the north node in Virgo and sextiles the south node in Pisces.  This is actually a good thing (thank heaven for small favors) because it is activating progress towards the future if we are flexible and adaptable.  The nodes are in mutable signs, remember?  We will definitely be feeling the pressure for a new start and Mars in Capricorn will imbue us with focus, organization and productivity to take action.  Full moons are times of completion, closure and revelations. Especially with Uranus in Aries conjunct the full moon, we are literally shaking free from the past and enduring some chaos in the process.

How does Pluto get involved?  On October 15th, Mercury in Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn.  Angry, assertive words can be used to manipulate with this aspect.  There will be conflict galore.  Mars in Capricorn is also moving towards an exact conjunction with Pluto on October 19, 2016.  Guess what is happening on that day?  Another presidential debate! Pluto increases its assertiveness and aggressiveness when it is aspected by Mars, so there will most assuredly be more sudden surprises on the political front.

Speaking of the political front in the United States, I couldn’t resist looking at the charts of the two main candidates, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton to see how they will fare with this full moon.  Donald Trump has his natal Saturn in 23 degrees of Cancer in his 11th house of friends, groups and aspirations.  The 11th house is ruled by Uranus. The full moon in 23 degrees of Aries falls in his 8th house of sex, death, transformation and joint finances.  It forms an exact square to his Saturn, so he may on some level feel restricted and unsupported. Taxes are also associated with the 8th house.  Interestingly enough, Donald Trump has a challenging moon/Saturn aspect in his natal chart- an inconjunct between Saturn in Cancer and his moon in 21 degrees of Sagittarius.  This aspect can contribute to a difficult relationship with one’s mother or women in general.  In light of recent media events, this comes as no surprise.

The full moon in 23 degrees of Aries falls in Hillary Clinton’s 11th house, the Uranian ruled house and forms challenging aspects to her nodes.  It semi-sextiles her north node in 23 degrees of Taurus and inconjuncts her south node in 23 degrees of Scorpio.  She may very well find herself having to make some kind of adjustments in her campaign.   Both candidates are facing some challenging aspects from this full moon and Uranus is definitely a key player in it.  The effects of the full moon will probably spill into the debate on October 19th when Mars catches up with Pluto in Capricorn.

The theme of something has to give, especially in relationships or finances, is further reinforced by the full moon forming an inconjunct to Venus in Scorpio.  The inconjunct can be a distracting influence that requires some form of adjustment in order to resolve the conflict it generates.  This past week has been chock full of inconjuncts, starting on October 12th with Venus in Scorpio inconjunct Uranus in Aries.  There is no escape from the Uranus in Aries influence, so hang on for the wild ride!

The north node in Virgo has an underlying theme of service to others.  In that spirit of pursuing my path as a healer, I am still channeling that Virgo north node energy by offering my Reiki services.  If you are in the Boston area, please consider getting a Reiki treatment at Acupuncture for Everyone in Copley Square to destress, revitalize and remove blockages to healing.  It’s a perfect way to start your weekend off and can also be described as a spa for the soul to boot!   Reiki is the most profound treatment for stress relief because it concentrates on CALMING your body.

For my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule for a treatment or have difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing distance Reiki sessions for them.  I have a conversation with them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages.  I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed. If this appeals to you, please feel free to contact me by email at lindasim54@gmail.com or call me at 617-304-2205. Additionally, I see clients at my home in Newton, Massachusetts and am generally available on weekends and evenings for your convenience.
