Many of us are still reeling from the effects
of this week’s full moon in Libra, but there are lots more changes in store
with the planets in the coming week. The
full moon in 21 degrees of Libra on April 11. 2017 inspired me to tweet:

I think that the real surprise for many of us was not that beautiful full moon in Libra on the 11th, but the aftermath of the moon in Scorpio. The moon entered Scorpio at 6:42 pm on the 11th and literally launched an emotional roller coaster. That Scorpio moon managed to oppose retrograde Mercury in Taurus (ouch-the stingers were flying on April 12th), trined Neptune in Pisces on the 12th (the saving grace), and managed to inconjunct both the sun and Uranus in Aries on the 13th, opposed Mars in Taurus on the 13th and for good measure, it sextiled its ruling planet Pluto in Capricorn on the 13th inspiring me to tweet:

The next planetary change occurs on April 15th
when Venus stations direct in 26 degrees of Pisces. Under normal circumstances, this would be a
cause for celebration, but Venus will also be conjunct Chiron in Pisces and
squaring Saturn in Sagittarius. These
two aspects have a rather dour, glum tendency to put us in touch with our
deepest wounds and prompt us to question our values, finances and lovability. And Saturn has been squaring Chiron, so if
you have been feeling exceptionally raw and emotionally sensitive this past
week, blame it on Chiron and Saturn. I
am trying to believe that accessing these deep-rooted wounds can help us heal
them, but no one ever said that healing and transformation were painless
processes.
On April 19, 2017, the sun enters the sign of
Taurus, which is ruled by Venus. Maybe
this is when we can catch a break from Venus being direct in Pisces, the sign
of its exaltation. Enjoy this short window of opportunity while it lasts,
because Venus will be back in Aries on April 28, 2017.
But the sun in Taurus should restore a sense of
stability that was sorely lacking when the sun was in Aries. When the sun is in Taurus, we experience more
determination, stubbornness, and possessiveness. We can be more methodical, productive,
sensual and receptive. This is where we
can reap the benefits of Venus ruling Taurus.
Security needs will become more important but due to Taurus being a
fixed earth sign, we still need to be cautious against being bullheaded. Remember that Taurus is the bull and if we
are mindful of that, we should be just fine.
On April 20th, we have some more
astrological treats in store. The sun
and Mercury are conjunct in Taurus in the wee hours of the morning before retrograde
Mercury re-enters Aries. But the
sun/Mercury conjunction in Taurus could bring us some insights from the past,
quite possibly in the form of our dreams.
Pluto will be stationing retrograde in 19
degrees of Capricorn on April 20th as well. This transit will last until September 28,
2017 when it stations direct in 16 degrees of Capricorn. You know the drill—if you have planets in the
cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn between 15-20 degrees, you
can anticipate some deep cleansing of the unconscious which will help you to
eliminate anything that is polluting to your mind, body and spirit. But the good news is that Pluto is a slow
moving planet and we have plenty of time to do the work. Be kind to yourself
during this transit and remember to engage in lots of self-care. My Libra ascendant and Cancer midheaven will
be in the firing line during this five month transit, so I need to remember
this as well.
Mars leaves Taurus on April 21, 2017 and enters
the mutable air sign of Gemini. We can
expect some nervous, high-paced frenetic energy during the Mars tour of Gemini,
which lasts until June 6, 2017. We will
probably feel less determined and focused than we did during Mars transiting Taurus,
but we will experience more versatility and flexibility. Our interests will undoubtedly become more
diversified and we may find ourselves going off on tangents. Gemini is mutable energy and likes to keep
its options open. We could also find
ourselves connecting with different types of people, which could be a very
positive experience.

I have recently joined the International Center for Reiki Training
Membership Association.
For my clients who can’t fit Friday into their schedule
for a treatment or have difficulty traveling, I have also recently begun doing
distance Reiki sessions for them. I have
a conversation with them about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set
up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive
healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their
experience and my perception of their blockages. I have also incorporated a new technique with
my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my
client. I use a teddy bear so that I can
