A Super-Charged New Moon in Aquarius and Mars Enters Aquarius for a Rendezvous with Pluto on Valentine's Day

 

We have our very first New Moon with Pluto in Aquarius.  On February 9, we have a New Moon in 20 degrees of Aquarius that is also squaring the ruling planet of Aquarius, Uranus in 19 degrees of Taurus.  This will be quite the intense New Moon and some might feel like it is a Full Moon.  Obviously it has a very Uranian theme as it is a time to let go of what is no longer serving our best interests and break free of old patterns.  There is a great deal of nervous energy present and exciting news could very well be on the horizon.  Aquarius is a very future oriented sign.  The Moon squaring Uranus makes it hard to predict how it will play out, as anything can happen.  I can tell you that most of us will probably feel quite uncomfortable with the changes that are coming as we get in touch with our soul's desire, feel our truth and aim to get authentic.  On February 8, we had the Sun in Aquarius squaring Uranus in Taurus setting the stage for this New Moon and on that day I posted:

The bottom line is that this New Moon will be a wild ride as we plunge forward into the future and it will undoubtedly deliver some surprises that we didn't see coming. So hang in there...

On the following day, Mercury in Aquarius is squaring Jupiter in 8 degrees of Taurus.  This is also the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Wood Dragon. We haven't had a Dragon year since 2012, and the last Wood Dragon year was 1964, which was a pivotal year for social change. Saturn was in Aquarius at the beginning of 1964, dipped into Pisces from late March through September and then went back into Pisces (like it is now) in December 1964.  Food for thought, n'est pas?  Mercury squaring Jupiter can be quite optimistic but while we definitely have the big picture in sight, we aren't so focused on the details.  And since Jupiter loves to amplify whatever it touches, we can be prone to exaggerating and overreacting.  Just a heads up that some folks could be a bit cocky.

Mars joins the Aquarius party (Sun, Mercury and Pluto) on February 13 and stays there until March 22, 2024.  Mars in Aquarius is the social warrior and is driven by humanitarian desires.  It is very independent energy with a touch of recklessness and eccentricity.  It is definitely a rebel vibe.  It can be erratic and has a short fuse.  I say this from the voice of experience because I have a natal Mars in Aquarius in my 4th house. When Mars is in Aquarius, we will opt for unconventional methods and approach problems from an intellectual and detached perspective.

Mars is conjunct Pluto in 0 degrees of Aquarius on February 14, aka Valentine's Day.  This is a volatile mix with an abundance of domineering and aggressive energy.  It will increase our ambition, sex drive and lust for power.  So it can be a day of strong reactions, to say the least.  If you happen to have any planets or points (like Ascendant or Midheaven) in the early degrees (0-5) of the fixed signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo or Scorpio, you will feel the brunt of this aspect.  I happen to have my Mercury in 0 degrees of Scorpio in my 1st house, so there is no escape for me on this one.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
