Mercury Retrograde and the Sun Enters Aries

 

The month of March is roaring on.  So far we have had Venus station retrograde in Aries on the 1st and the first eclipse of 2025 in the form of a Lunar Eclipse in 23 degrees of Virgo on March 14.  On March 15, the fun continues when Mercury stations retrograde in 9 degrees of Aries.  Just like with Venus retrograde, we get to experience this retrograde in Aries and Pisces.  Yes, folks, on March 29, Mercury will swim back into Pisces and station direct on April 7 in 26 degrees of Taurus. Venus will move back into Pisces on March 27 and station direct on April 12 (a Full Moon in 23 degrees of Libra to boot) in 24 degrees of Pisces.  It's becoming quite obvious that 23 degrees is a very sensitive degree astrologically these days.

How is Mercury retrograde in Aries going to play out?  In addition to the usual communication, transportation and electronic snafus, Mercury retrograde in Aries tends to test our patience even more.  Mercury in Aries loves to rush into things, but with it retrograde we need to exercise more caution and strategize. This does not come easy, sad to say.  We do get a bit of a break on March 24 when Mercury in Aries is cazimi with the Sun in Aries.  Important messages could be revealed, either through friends or possibly through dreams.  

Mercury is back in Pisces on March 29, intensifying the theme of mixed messages.  Nobody ever said Mercury was comfortable in the mutable water sign of Pisces.  This is very vague energy, so double-check your calendar to avoid misunderstandings.  We are dealing with both Mercury and Venus retrograde in Pisces by the end of March.  And it is no accident that Venus stationed retrograde in 10 degrees of Aries and Mercury in 9 degrees of Aries, which is the exact degree of the Solar Eclipse on March 29.  It would be the biggest understatement of the year to say that this first set of eclipses in 2025 is life-altering for the planet. They are serving as a bridge to a new world, and we are experiencing labor pains big time.

The Sun and Neptune are conjunct in 29 degrees of Pisces as well on March 19.  This can intensify our spiritual connection but it can also blur boundaries by leading to confusion and escapism.  The good news with this aspect is that we can experience more creativity, empathy and compassion but there is also the potential for uncertainty, overthinking and the need to let go of attachments and/or beliefs that no longer serve our highest good.  There is something about a conjunction in 29 degrees of Pisces that denotes an ending or culmination of the lessons of that particular sign.  They don't call it the critical or anaretic degree for nothing!

The Sun enters Aries on March 20.  This is literally the start of the astrological New Year when the Sun blasts into the cardinal fire sign.  Spring is officially here.  When the Sun is in Aries, we feel free to take the lead and adopt this courageous energy.  Aries is ruled by Mars, don't forget, so pursue your passions.  However, when the Sun is in Aries, we do tend to be more impatient and itching for something new. We are definitely up for some challenges, which is a good way to begin a new year on an astrological level.

Neptune will briefly enters Aries on March 30 until October 22, 2025, but more on that later.

The coronavirus outbreak caused me to increase the number of distant Reiki sessions I do because people were concerned about the spread of the infection. I have decided to suspend my in-person Reiki sessions until further notice, so all of my Reiki sessions will be distant Reiki sessions for the foreseeable future. But a distant Reiki session is the perfect opportunity to safely build up your immune system and if you have contracted coronavirus, you can be treated safely from the comfort of your home. My procedure is to have a conversation with a client about what they hope to achieve from a session, we set up a time for the session to take place when they will be in a state to receive healing energy and I follow up with a telephone conversation to discuss their experience and my perception of their blockages. I do miss seeing my clients, so I am now offering Zoom consultations/intakes before the session so that we can see each other. I have also incorporated a new technique with my distance Reiki treatments since I don’t always have a photo of my client.  I use a teddy bear so that I can scan and focus the healing energy where it is needed.
